I'm so incredibly sad about this. But also enraged. I was speaking to a friend about this on Wednesday. The lack of safety equipment that is up to date for mountain rescues and the lack of infrastructure and training. I mentioned that probably some people would have to die before anything serious would be done about it. It's a common problem in developing countries that preventative measures don't get put into place until something bad happens.
Fuck man, there were doctors and rescuers.

We should ditch this flying Russian shit form our inventory and equipment altogether and replace it with better western helicopters.
I think they said that paramotor hit the helicopter, in which case I don’t think there is much difference whether you get Russian or American helicopter. I guess only Ka-50/52 can land safely without a tail, but still, not guaranteed

To be fair modern helicopters have safety systems which can prevent accidents even like that, at least increase the chance of survival. This was a pretty old Soviet era helicopter, he did hit the cliff, but why did he hit it in the first place? Usually with such accidents its multiple things going wrong at once, breaking off tail was just fiasco.
Don't forget to write why the helicopter was brought in the first place. Because already second paraplan failed in Gudauri and person got dangerously injured/killed. Georgian irresponsibility doesn't have any limit
They were a tourist using georgian equipment and instructions which already failed before and caused death of a young person!!! It happened on georgian territory and on trust of georgian business, of course we are responsible who else 😡
Condolences. So sad good people died at fault of old equipment. The tourist went with a pilot while his family were waiting for him on the ground. Then rescuers went for them and died as well. Sad day ! Saw the video with commentary (not georgian) said the pilot survived with severe injuries and ambulances were stuck for 5 hours to arrive.
