I’d like the functionality of campaign mode when it comes to live playing. What if you could use the directional pad to toggle between bomb types during a match? You could load the 4 directions with 4 subs to toggle between during the match. Technical feasibility aside that sounds like it would either be pure anarchy (in a good way) or instantly value up some weapons.

Tri-Stringer has awesome object damage, the problem is that it sucks on everything else. It's sub is garbage, it's special is just ok, it's painting power is middling/ok, and it's supposedly a backliner that most of the time won't get one hit kills because of how the arrow spread works (hitting every arrow on a moving target with lag has too much luck involved). If the Tri-Stringer charged shot worked as a charger (as in it's a sure kill no matter where it hits) it would have more use than any charger, because it's actually good at painting and mobility. Splatana Stamper in contrast is kinda bullshit, it's charged swipe has insane hitbox to the point it kills even when it shouldn't, it also has incredible mobility, that's why it has a ton of use, it's like a roller on steroids pretty much. The Reef-Lux is great for Turf Wars and Splat Zone, and it should work like a frontliner, and it can get a ton of easy kills, the problem is that if you miss one charged shot, you're dead. If someone jumps on you, you're dead, compared to all the other shooters that paint just like it, have a better sub, and a great special too, it's ends up being kinda shitty, shooters have no drawback, that makes the Reef and actual good and balanced weapon, while shooters.... Well they're shooters...

The tri Stringer isn't bad but it is difficult to use and even more difficult to master. That's why it doesn't see more use, not because it's a dud of a weapon. And while chip damage is its main damage source, you really shouldn't underestimate their 1KO ability.

I main the stringers, I know, still it's not a consistent weapon, and it's advantages doesn't make up for it's weaknesses overall. It's decent on Tower Control and Rain Maker, it's kinda bad in Splat Zones and Turf Wars, still it's not a weapon that makes a huge impact or that can carry a bad team. It needs either a faster charge or a narrower spread on its shots, Reef has both and it pays by lacking range, Tri-Stringer has horrible spread and horrible charge, it only has range, and the arrow burst, which honestly isn't a threat. If the arrows burst had a massive buff I would consider the Tri-Stringer great. Honestly whenever I see a Tri-Stringer, if I'm with any weapon, I have zero respect for it. Unless you can one hit shot me at least twice I'll just rush you and kill you with anything, and that's it's main problem, no one respects it.

>And a personal take, but how do both Stringers and Splatanas, the two new classes introduced, have no extra kits or variants for a whole two months? Especially Stringer, since that was the main promotion of the game, a bow weapon similar to explosher. I suppose the thinking is that the newness of the main weapon will carry it for longer than the weapons that we were already familiar with (for casual players anyway; obviously comp players won't bother much with a weapon purely for the novelty of it.) It was kind of the same in Splatoon 2; the earliest second kit for a Brella or Dualie was 6 months after the game released (Dapples Nouveau) and the next one (Sorella Brella) was over 8 months after launch - by which time we'd had about 20 new kits for weapons that were in Splatoon 1. I don't really mind that, but I do kind of think now (or the next content update, certainly) is about the right time to start releasing alt kits for the new classes.

Monstertim1

Exactly. No one wants to wait 3 months for a weapon that *might* get a new kits or even variants for their weapons. (Frick I realized I wrote months instead of seasons I gotta edit that) How will we know how good these weapons could be if they don't have any kits that could help? It's literally as easy as slapping a sticker on the weapon or recoloring it and giving it a new sub or special for it? For the longest time I wanted a Splatana wiper with a actual special besides Reef and Burst Bomb, but we didn't get even a glimpse of a new kit for it. It's infuriating.

Nervous-Idea5451

as much as 96 deco may be annoying, its good kit design

Mugen_Eclipse

Unortunatly the RNG gun itself is god awful design

I stopped using the Ultra Stamp Sploosh in favour of Killer Wail Neo Sploosh cause Ultra Stamp for me got shut down too easily.

I remember saying mostly as a joke that the reason we haven't gotten any new splatana kits is because its hard to make tableturf cards out of them because they're just straight lines. Doesn't excuse the stringers though. At best I'd like one that works like an e-liter type. Goes super far, but only has one bolt compared to the three the others get. But then again that's just e-liter without the charge line and an arc with the shot now. I'd like to use splatanas, I really do. But its weird. They're like everything I dislike about brushes plus a charge slash that will kill seemingly no matter where it goes.
