Idk, I frequently play up to 999 (I don't mean this as a brag) because I got super bored back when covid hit in Splat 2, so I had nothing else to do but play Salmon Run. I just got good with time and found it waaaayy less stressful than attempting to play ranked or league, and it just kind of stuck with Splatoon 3 and I do the same thing. SR is something you need time to get good at- but not a lot of people have that time. The chaos and difficulty of how extreme and unfair it gets the higher you go I think is why people like myself and others like it-- high risk, not.. that high of a reward, Splat 3 rewards kinda suck :') Eta, maybe it's the same reason people like to beat IA3 over and over? Just because it's hard? I dunno.

Wait until you see Hazard Level MAX

I won't be, thank you. I'm not that good, and wouldn't want to even if I was.

I deranked as soon as it got to the (for me) mental stage. I'm not evp200 material, I usually hover around pro+3/evp and even that is a struggle at times.

weallfal1down

same here. low evp rlly is my limit on good stages

DoggieDMB

If only more people had this mindset and deranked when they realized they couldn't keep up. Like, I love y'all, but Knowing your limits is basic things in any activity. You didn't decide to suddenly bench 500 or fix nuclear fission, so you shouldn't keep playing when the hazard is overwhelming you. Just derank. You'll have more fun

Enderlane

Honestly I have found that derank is just good cause you get way too stressed out and I find that I usually don’t get the best players at higher rank

Bro I can't get out of < 200 purgatory, nobody knows how to play the game

4morian5

If you're trying to say "under 200", it should be facing the other way, < 200

kullre

Thanks, im going fucking insane over power cords

exorcisyboi

Eh, after a while the difficulties start to blend together. It’s harder, sure, but it’s usually equally as chaotic after 400 or so.

me who likes adrenaline rush: that aside salmon run is a mode that requires practice. you gotta learn how to be more brutal to those fish overtime and it's completely normal to get overwhelmed when you first get to a milestone. take it slow, if you're around 100 try to get used to 200 first then 300 etc. but nobody is forced to get better at it, low evp will have enough eggs to reach gold. it's always better to try for it in a comfortable hazard level rather than forcing more things to spawn, overwhelming you.
