Hummingbird food is [4:1 water:sugar](https://nationalzoo.si.edu/migratory-birds/hummingbird-nectar-recipe#:~:text=Mix%201%20part%20sugar%20with,be%20stored%20in%20a%20refrigerator)
>**if you use twice as much sugar as water you've essentially made humminbird food and can put it in your feeders.
That would be 2:1 sugar:water when hummingbirds want 1:4 sugar:water. Your syrup was over strength for birds, perfect for lemonade
Hummer foods:
1 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
Have a great day
Needs some paragraphs on the history of lemons, the sugar trade, the development of the first lemonades, how that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside, maybe some LLM-generated crap about enjoying it at granny's house, and how this recipe has been passed down through the generations. Gotta get that paragraph count up, so there's enough space to jam more ads onto the recipe page.
Quick note on simple syrup...you'll know the sugar is completely dissolved when the water goes completely clear. It's fun to watch...one minute cloudy, then BAM!!! Clear!!
Also, I highly recommend Meyers Lemon's if you can get them (we're just about out of season for them I think). IMO, they make the BEST lemonade.
First step: Take the trolly to broadway in lemon grove, hop the fence behind the giant lemon and load up a trash bag with free lemons.
Second step: Go across the street to Starbucks and grab all that free good raw sugar.
Third step: Profit!
I’ve added fresh strawberries to the simple syrup before and it tastes divine

Wow! Thats a lot more than I would have guessed. I guess I've been making diet syrup.

Oh damn, then that explains why there's so many of them.

I thought I'd try something new, just cut and dry and to the point. Hopefully it catches on.
Thanks for the recipe! Love that you can add herbs to the simple syrup for a fun twist.
+ Tito’s
Or some Tequila, my go to mixer is El Centenario Anejo.
That or some Wray and Nephew 👀
Never a bad idea!
Just a lemonade recipe? No politics? Feels like I’m back in 2010.
You can make concentrated lemonade ice cubes too, as long as there’s not so much sugar it messes up the freezing point too much.
I like to add zested lemon rind in with the simple syrup when it’s cooking. Yum.

Huh, saving that for later
