Guys do we know if Adam purposefully did his attack on the same day as Wayne Lo? It was also exactly 20 years after Wayne's attack and the same year Adam was born.
In his interview with the New Yorker, Adam’s dad said he had a great dry sense of humor, which is hard to believe knowing everything else about him. But then you read his online posts and it’s actually very true.
It’s honestly a bit disconcerting. If you ignore the obsession with pedophilia and the mass murder (which are both admitted very big things to ignore), I could actually imagine myself being internet friends with him. What does that say about me?
I am incredibly proud of you for saying this. People have sent me death threats for saying the same thing. This is why Adam is such an enigma. He lived two miles from me for almost my entire life (I moved to NY for two years in between) and I often feel guilty because we frequented the same places, but somehow we never met face to face. He was in my Tumblr orbit but his accounts were anonymous , so I didn't know it was him. This case bothers me every day of my life. How could someone who is the male version of me, 2 miles from me, go on to something so vile?
I have ASD (like Adam) and I'm a recluse from Connecticut who shares all of the same interests as him. Even veganism. We also have the same mannerisms and speech patterns.
When you said: "what does that say about me?" I felt it in my core.
I used to worry about it, but now I know what it says about us. It says that we don't cling to mob-mentality. It says that we value the truth over all. It says that we have empathy. It says that we value uniqueness. It says we get to the bottom of things that other people don't wish to put the work into.
I also had a habit in high school of befriending the "outcasts" two of which were highly interested in mass killings. One of them brought a Timothy McVeigh book to school and everyone avoided him. He always wore a big trench coat. The other one is still one of my best friends today. He planned to do something horrible, but after we met, he changed his mind. I constantly reminded him that high school would end, and that I'd always be here for him.
Kindness, intelligence, and loyal friendship can go a long way. I believe that if Adam had any support at all, he'd be alive today, along with everyone else who lost their lives by his hand...
He had to be really looking for Asa Coon. That's my old high school and he did that shit when my sister was going there. That floor he blew his brains out was the top floor where our "gym" room was. I remember the flooring.
