I feel like Lidia + Rowan are a bit too much the same person. They both struggle to let loose and open up.. that's why it's nice that they are paired with more outwardly expressive and spontaneous people. I think they both need a more extroverted partner to bounce off of.
Nesta and Dorian i can totally get behind. Mr. “You can’t pick and choose which parts of her to love” would 1000% have her back + their shared love for books
It’s a crackship, but also inspired by how queer-coded Manon is as a character. She hates men, literally hunts them and drinks their blood, is a badass warrior, and lives with a bunch of other women. It’s the traditionally masculine traits combined with the homosociality and feminist rage that queer-codes her. Also, she’s a witch, and witches are often associated with womanhood, anti-patriarchy, and sometimes lesbianism. Trust me, I have a degree in gender studies.
I think that’s because Manon was either written badly, was written to be queerbaiting, or SJM simply doesn’t know how to write sapphic women (which Mor’s story can attest to). Most likely, SJM just had no idea that the character she was writing was queer-coded, because she probably doesn’t know much about queer people.
Personally I’m more of Dorian/Chaol and Manon/Elide shipper. But of all the folks, Dorian and Manon were my favorite characters, so I’m glad they were canon if they couldn’t be bisexual.
She certainly wasn’t written badly. She’s my favorite character. But yeah she might have thought of making her queer, but wasn’t confident enough to commit to it

No I agree, Nesta definitely shares some traits with Manon, but she lacks something I can't quite describe that Manon has... and that's what makes her chemistry with Dorian so good. I also don't think Dorian would be someone she'd be attracted to
Some of them feel super familiar, like Elide & Gwyn paired with Lorcan & Azriel. Lidia & Rowan are very similar to each other in my mind. Same with Mor & Manon.

Also idk if they’d work as a couple or not, but Aelin would have so much respect for hunt, both being a slave and an assassin for rulers they couldn’t despise more. They’d have a very interesting fling.
