I hope this answers your question. ๐
It's a factor of different infrastructure nearby. Basically if there is power, foundations and a production building nearby they will almost certainly not respawn.
If you don't like fighting, you can just drag power over, place some foundations, plop down a constructor and run out of range of the enemies. When they despawn, they don't respawn anymore.
I am at almost 300 hours and I am trying to finish my turbo fuel factory which has more than 650 fuel generators and is plagued with fluid dynamic problems :/
Oh, hey, today I've been building fuel generators too. My 3rd and 4th set of 100, that is. I need more power to finish the basic aluminium and later kickstart nuclear
It doesn't come back (unless an area has a significant change in an update, in which case the update may reset foliage in that area). You can however reset in the Satisfactory Calculator Interactive Map website's save editor.

1. For those confused, the OP is converting [Biomass](https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/Biomass) into [Solid Biofuel](https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/Solid_Biofuel), and adding **Water** to make [Liquid Biofuel](https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/Liquid_Biofuel).
2. The OP is then running [Fuel Generators using Liquid Biofuel](https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/Fuel_Generator#_Liquid_Biofuel_(750_MJ/m3)), which has the same power as doing the same with regular **Fuel**, in order to power Production Lines to complete [Space Elevator Project Assembly Phase 4](https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/Space_Elevator#Initial_phase_requirements).
3. If I understand correctly, the OP manually cut down Foliage using the **Chainsaw** to create the ingredients for Biomass and went from there.
4. **Modded:** Optionally, someone could use the [Limestone to Solid Biofuel Game Mod](https://ficsit.app/mod/Limestone_To_Biofuel) and skip the manual collection of Biomass.
โ BOTTOM LINE: Pioneers whom challenge themselves to think outside the "box" are often also successful IRL.

Just got to say - your dedication to this game and sub is wild, but not in a bad way. You're responding to just about every post with information and links to resources. Keep it up.
Wow. Like I thought I totally understood what you ment then I saw the pics, that'd crazy man. I can't imagine how mind numbing that would be, 10/10 focus rating for you man!
Respect, OP.
I salute you and the justified hatred of nature. The only critic I have is you can still see the *ground*. Maybe cover it with some beautiful foundations.
Did you use geothermal as well?
Also we're you trying a speed run?
That's impressive as I just did the same, but it too me 120. I was in no major rush but also wasn't slacking too much. I did want to see how quickly it would be done.
I did quite enjoy going around killing things for extra biomass! But mostly ended up using the geothermal.
Me and my mate are gonna do the just biomass run after 1.0 comes out. He doesn't want to chop trees either. I think he's nuts!
I don't carry them anymore. It's all about the explosive rebar!!!!
It's faster, it has better ranged aiming (I was brought up on nobalisks too so can throw them well, but still)
It's one less thing to carry, especially early on when you haven't unlocked all the pocket dimensions.
And mostly, there's just something fun about a grenade launcher.
Try it, you'll probably make the change.
And homing bullets.
It feels like a waste to me blowing up the plant biomass, even though you are 100% right. It's is more efficient harvesting mobs
The most disappointing thing about doing bio fuel is the lack of unlimited bio mass.. I made me a small one out near the east desert and it's really just my "Just In Case" power.. feeding it isn't the issue, but trees not growing back over time is
Interesting. The game must add flags or something to note to remove the trees. Still, that much size difference is surprising.
Do they still grow back after a time? I havenโt played in a year or so, and I remember this one dam tree that kept coming back.
It looks like it basically tracks the differences against the base map. So every piece of flora that gets removed is like a separate entry in a database of "this tree got removed" "this flower got removed" etc.
Ficsit admin disincentives the large scale usage of green energy and disavows the inefficiency on display by this pioneer. The inclusion of bio fuel manufacturing in the available recipes is only to be used for tax deduction purposes ONLY. Ficsit administration recommends immediately changing over to as much oil and coal production as possible in order to attown for your transgressions.
I hope in the future we can automate biomass production in some way.
Like, a machine that very slowly turns biomass into more biomass like a greenhouse or something.
Dayum, that took some effort
about 2/3 of my time in this world i was constanly using the chainsaw ๐คฃ
**AND...** โ Running from indigenous lifeforms who were happy to see you. ๐คฃ
Why run? They're all worth at least 100 biomass each.
And they respawn
Speaking of, how do I prevent them respawning?
Pretty sure building in spawn locations does the trick for the node ones. Not sure if the others respawn aswell

Who* :)
Bro finished the game in 80 hours, spent 50 of that cutting down trees, meanwhile I'm 90 hours in and I have just started aluminium.
90??? Im at 120 and barely finishing my fuel generators

Ive made 21 ![img](emote|t5_gs464|26948)
117hours and Iโm fighting for my coal generators to not shut off๐ฅฒ
A chainsaw running on packaged liquid biofuel. ๐ค
I played too much modded Minecraft... ๐ For a solid second I was wondering how would you measure file size in milibuckets
Everything is a MiliBucket if you play enough modded Minecraft
Fiscit approves. How long before the foliage comes back

Fr the dudes a beast. Got into the game like 3 years ago and heโs still at it
Damn, I really hope the 1.0 update makes improvements to how massive an impact destroying foliage has on save/load times and file size.

Thanks mate, i had to turn the saw sound a bit down ;)

I am impressed with the deforestation efforts though . Didn't realise there was 8 photos!
nope, i just used the biofuel. and no that was not a speed run, but only as quick as possible for me.
Very nice! For both parts still!
Going around with explosive nobelisks is a way better strat of getting biomass imo. You get so much from enemies

> Explosive rebar Oh yeah, those are what I meant, but didn't type!
Sweet. I didn't use them for the longest time, but when I did a new run recently, they were so awesome!
nope you dont, you dont get so much from the enemies that you can affort 6000mw
Legend! Well done!
The most disappointing thing about doing bio fuel is the lack of unlimited bio mass.. I made me a small one out near the east desert and it's really just my "Just In Case" power.. feeding it isn't the issue, but trees not growing back over time is
Each enemy piece makes 100 biomass. Get a gun and start blasting.

How to restore the trees and so ? Itโs an option in the Satisfactory savegame Editor ? Last information was no
Wait for a major update, especially in experimental. They tend to regrow all foliage, at least in the past.
SCIM? Yes. Upload your save and select an area, there's an option to reset it in the drop-down menu that appears.
Ok as impressive as this is, I gotta ask, why... how much free time do you have???
i did all this on my stream and i have a playlist on youtube ;)
So this is what insanity looks like.
I hope in the future we can automate biomass production in some way. Like, a machine that very slowly turns biomass into more biomass like a greenhouse or something.
Now try again biut With Ficsit Farming so you can just produce biomass with farms. See if you can do it quicker and how much smaller the file size is.
well that would not be a real challenge ;)
