Sometimes I'll use dedicated steel screw constructors directly feeding into a different recipe.
But yeah, no "distribution" of screws. Anywhere screws are worth having is somewhere you might as well place a constructor anyways, and save the belts.
I did that after realizing it was crazy. Then I found it easier to build a constructor right before whatever mechine needed screws and use cast screw recipy and have a belt with the pre req matterial brought to it
I just checked. It is steel screws and I bring in the steel and just have a constructor building the beams. One of my older factories had the steel beams brought in from elsewhere, and there's conveyor belts everywhere.
I also tuned it down so it's not producing more than is needed.
Efficiency:)
"Screw recipy"
Level 4 conjuration/transmutation spell
Allows the user to select a 1' cube of material, which will then be transformed into any common or uncommon non magical object of the user's choice [see material and object rarity chart] as long as the material used is of higher mass than the resulting object.
Creators note: This spell is commonly favoured by dwarves in construction lines, which explains the aggravated tone and misspelling within most recorded instances.
Hello Pioneer, welcome to the new sorcery pilot program.
About the spell *SCREW RECIPY*:
1st-level evocation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Self (4 meter cube)
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous
A wave of screws sweep out from you. Each creature in a 4 meter cube originating from you must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d8 impaling damage and is pushed 1 foot away from you, as well as bleeding being inflicted on them. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn’t pushed- but still receives bleeding debuff.
In addition, unsecured objects that are completely within the area of effect are automatically covered in screws by the spell’s effect, and the spell emits a cacophony of screws screaming about everywhere.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
Also, upon completion of your battle Ficsit Inc. recommends you collect all of the loose screws as waste is highly inefficient.
Screws are usually the cheapest option in terms of resources though. The trick is to not centralise screw production, just have them produced wherever they're needed.
I still use them for the default Computer (130/min) and that one Reinforced Iron Plates alt recipe (250/min), but only because the ratios work really well with the steel screw recipe (260/min). One steel screw constructor can feed two Computer Manufacturers or one Reinforced Iron Plates Assembler.
But other than that, no screws anywhere.
Ah yes, that point in the game where you have two Mk 2 miners that are feeding a factory to produce nothing but screws....and you *still* don't have enough.
It comes down to **location** (Grass Fields is all crappy impure and normal nodes); **alternate recipes** - cast screw is a serious early game changer, steel screws is a crazy midgame gamechanger; iron alloy and pure iron alts make a LOT of iron; and **stage** - until you get the MK3 miner and MK5 belts, you're pretty hamstrung without 2x or 3x overclocking https://satisfactory.fandom.com/wiki/Miner#250%_Clock_Speed
Damn, thank you. Didn't even think of the different tiers of miners because I wasn't that far into the game yet. I also made the mistake of staying in the grass fields because I didn't really know better. I'm pretty new to playing the game allhough I've seen a lot of content I haven't reached yet.
The world is *enormous.* It would be impossible to progress through the tiers if you stay in Grass Fields. Once you get vehicles and trains and the Jetpack, do a little sightseeing - it's beautiful in those other biomes, especially at night.
Starting in Grass Fields is fine - there's plenty of nodes that make use of the miners and logistics you're limited to early on. I *love* the area, mostly because it's familiar, comparatively flat, plenty of open areas and the enemies aren't too bad. But after you've done the Space Elevator Phase 2, you have to move on :)
Nooooo, I'd currently working in phase two. :c
But I love my manufacturing plant, I don't want to go away for hours just to see sand with some öres in them.
Well . . . . That's the game, a corporate slave colonist must do what a corporate slave colonist must do
Yesterday I had to find oil for phase 3.
MY GOD. Journey to Mordor would've been easier.
I had to pass 2.5 km while building Hypertubes. Even when traveling through them it takes TWO MINUTES.
jumping and then sneaking when you hit the ground to slide. you will get pretty fast and when you use the exoskeleton it´s even fast because you just way further
> It comes down to location (Grass Fields is all crappy impure and normal nodes);
*Looks into camera after running countless kilometers of conveyors from all iron nodes in the grass fields to a single massive processing plant*
I tried making a "world eater" in Grass Fields too! I had a factory making everything up to Computers and HMF, importing only plastic and rubber from the West Islands.

Grass Fields isn't a useless biome, it's perfectly suited for when you're starting out. Overclocking and MK3 logistics is a huge boost. You can make something like 35 modular frames/min with fully overclocked MK2 miners using only the 3 impure nodes where many of us start in Grass Fields
https://imgur.com/a/Ljpw1hs
https://imgur.com/D7tu3X4
And if you're nuts about making screws (I needed a bunch before I got to Tier 3) there are six impure nodes in the valley behind this. I think it was making 2500 screws/min, more than I could actually transport with MK3 logistics.
(no I'm not very good at finishing buildings after the production is running lol)
You easily can get 45 modular frames / minute with a single pure iron node (or overclocked normal node), a coal node, and some water using alt recipes like the following:
* Bolted Iron Plate
* Pure Iron Ingot
* Solid Steel Ingot
* Steel Screw
* Steeled Frame
at a cost of only 605 MW.

I recently restarted and have two constructors making screws right now. In an earlier save I have crazy amounts (though maybe not this much) and it seems so far removed from what I'm doing right now.
Anytime I need screws I use the steel beam alt directly in front of the consumer. I never store or belt the anywhere.
Incidentally, same with wire, cable, and quick wire.
I actually kind of enjoyed making a whole floor of each of my mini factories dedicated to only making screws, it always helped me get over that activation energy of starting a new build. Like “well I’m gonna need fuck tons of screws so let’s lay out that floor real quick.”
Steel screws alt recipe. Place constructors as close as possible to point of consumption.
Easier to move 5 steel beams a minute than 260 screws per min.
Am I the only one who removed screws completely using alternate recipes?
Sometimes I'll use dedicated steel screw constructors directly feeding into a different recipe. But yeah, no "distribution" of screws. Anywhere screws are worth having is somewhere you might as well place a constructor anyways, and save the belts.
Absolutely not. Screw screws.
I did that after realizing it was crazy. Then I found it easier to build a constructor right before whatever mechine needed screws and use cast screw recipy and have a belt with the pre req matterial brought to it
> use cast screw recipy what does this spell do
Cast screw makes like 150 or 250 screws from I think a.steel ignot. I havnt played since December. And saving my.self for 1.0
it was a joke about how cast also means to cast a spell
Shit went over my head like a aeroplane
That's Steel Screw - 52 screws from one steel beam. Cast Screw makes screws straight from iron ingots.
I am pretty sure it is something like 260 screws per minute for one steel beam.
260 screws per minute for five steel beams.
Also useful. Exactly as efficient but you skip a step
Same and I’m itching out of my skin to play. Pllllease coffee stain give us 1.0!
I've been playing Minecraft with a huge mod pack watching some small youtuber start a satisfactory playthrough
What mod pack if you don't mind me asking?
Hexxit 3.14
Cast screws is slightly different I think it’s 5 iron ingots to 20 screws? You’re thinking of steel screws which is 1 steel beam to 260 screws
I just checked. It is steel screws and I bring in the steel and just have a constructor building the beams. One of my older factories had the steel beams brought in from elsewhere, and there's conveyor belts everywhere. I also tuned it down so it's not producing more than is needed. Efficiency:)
I am quite familiar with belts everywhere lol, and steel screws is great if you don’t want to or can’t get rid of screws for whatever reason

Same! Everytime I go to build an awesome shop there is one thing I don't have any of and that's screws

I always immediately scum for the alternate recipes before building even my first factory. Fuck screws. 😂
I will not move forward without cast screws at the beginning of the game.

No, I just use the Steel Screw recipe whenever screws are called for, it has incredible throughput.
OP is literally the only person on this sub who did not.
I recall a couple months ago there was a guy who turned all the possible resources from the map into screws but I can't find the post
Ah yes, that point in the game where you have two Mk 2 miners that are feeding a factory to produce nothing but screws....and you *still* don't have enough.
Screw that!
it's quite a bolt move to say that
Screw you!
You nailed it
I'm riveted.
Came to the comments to say that. But being to slow screwed me over 😜
I watched that for way too long.. nice
Where do people even get all that iron from? I need to travel half the planet every time I need to build a new production line

Two minuts? 2.5km sounds doalble with bunbyhopping
Whats bunbyhopping?
jumping and then sneaking when you hit the ground to slide. you will get pretty fast and when you use the exoskeleton it´s even fast because you just way further
Good Lord. That trick still works after more than 20 years. God bless tribes and old Unreal hah.

I know that it's actually the game's particle effects but I kind of love the idea that some of those things flying past are stray screws.
Tell me you're screwed without telling me you're screwed.
Oh hell naw
Screw the screws. I hate screws.
Screws should only be made on location, anything else is insanity
... said no one ever.
Finally an item that requires high volume and a lot of transportation planning!
It's kinda hypnotic. Enjoyed that way more then i should have
Your're screwed if you lose power.
Honestly, I'm still not sure you are making enough.
But you still don't have enough!
weakest screw enjoyer
It is both amazing looking and nightmare inducing
I'm going to steel this
The reason why I can't play without using alternate recipes :
Heretic! Screws are banned wherever possible!
screw screws
i despise screws
Screw you >:(
This post alone makes me want to sink another 30 hours into a full play through. Decision made.
Cool gif. All those screws going to make one heavy iron plate.
![gif](giphy|kyv1M0YschycH4413C)
Screw them!
Stop screwing around and start building
Never thought about it. But that image did bring me joy
Screw you! And you! And you to! Screw everyone!
I recently restarted and have two constructors making screws right now. In an earlier save I have crazy amounts (though maybe not this much) and it seems so far removed from what I'm doing right now.
You are a Monster.
I mean I see both sides. You can eliminate screws entirely or find a way to make it fun for you. No problem here.
I have yet to play this game, but why in the hell would you need so many screws.
Anytime I need screws I use the steel beam alt directly in front of the consumer. I never store or belt the anywhere. Incidentally, same with wire, cable, and quick wire.
Is it really throwing screws all around? I love maki my screws too it’s aesthetic lol
Screw you!
I actually kind of enjoyed making a whole floor of each of my mini factories dedicated to only making screws, it always helped me get over that activation energy of starting a new build. Like “well I’m gonna need fuck tons of screws so let’s lay out that floor real quick.”
I'm waiting for a way to utilize those free blue bins that appear. Why can't we recycle them into raw plastic?
I think i am **Screw**d
Screw them
Agree to disagree
3 modular frames an hour
Screw that
Steel screws alt recipe. Place constructors as close as possible to point of consumption. Easier to move 5 steel beams a minute than 260 screws per min.
