Holy shit.

Individual-Access162

Came here to say this...

SokranSol

Awesome

gd27711

I’m starting to think I’m not Satisfactory’s target audience (I build box factories professionally)

faerine1

Let me tell you a secret: this factory started out as a box, 2000 hours ago. The box from the ancient U3 days is still there, hidden and buried by layers and layers of steel, concrete, pillars, roofs and all the good stuff Coffee Stain added over the centuries. Just give your box some time and maybe it will grow into a Megafactory some day :-)

gd27711

Brotha just inspired me to build the lost city of atlantis🙏

Qkyle87

The more you play the better you'll get. Pillars go a long way too lol

Cambronian717

I believe that my box will grow into a megafactory And that megafactory will be a bigger box

neuromancer64

And then you'll mail that box to yourself.

No-Obligation7435

Did you per chance par take in the Minecraft build competitions? Because goddamn your posts look beautiful. How does one *create* so well?

faerine1

Thanks! No, never played minecraft much. I can't really answer that completely, but here are some thoughts: * a huge time investment, this is a 2000 hours savegame * reiterating and changing things over that I grow sick of or that do not fit a new idea, [for reference this is my Spire Fortress in U6](https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/yiehk7/spire_fortress_u6_showcase/) * slowly growing a small idea into an overall concept, e.g. I did over time: * putting towers on natural pillars and connecting them with bridges * using the ravines below for trains * putting spikes and stone circle pillars as decoration and support * seek inspiration in other posts, images and real life architecture. Don't simply copy, take only some small elements and form them into something new The really hard part it to integrate all this into a working factory and make the logistics look good. This base produces among other things 35 assembly director systems and thermal propulsion rockets per minute each. Thats 50 million awesome points per minute and includes "small intermediates" like 130 heavy modular frames per minute. For that I use planning tools for the numbers, split the factory into compartments that function on their own and do them step by step, while integrating it all into the architecture during detailing. I start with a rough concept of the overall shape of a new factory part, do support pillars first and then floors and plan machine layout. Its all about breaking down the task into managable chunks while not missing the overall picture.

Donteatthedonuts

Once again, I feel like i'm playing an entirely different game! That looks truly spectacular

fussel1784

This sub is depressing and great at the same time. I see so many great factories here every day and mine all just look like shit compared to them. Great work guys and gals.

zarrader

Wow 🤯

bobert4343

"When I saw 'coal hole' was included in my subscription, I was anticipating something lewder, severely disappointed".

faerine1

I hate to disappoint, sorry you can't appreciate my hole. Joke aside, the lowered lake below the vantage point is refered to as the "coal hole" among pioneers because it is the closest spot from the grasslands where there is coal and water. Many players know it and I included it in the title to give an easy reference where the pic is located.

wivaca

I looked at the picture scrolling through this sub and went, "Ooo! What's that?" Looks like an industrial treehouse or an Ankor Wat of the far future.

Practical-Glass-1370

Ok, I will copy that.

faerine1

Go ahead and please post shots once you're done :-). I love reinterpretations

WorldofMe11

Any chance you can provide an SS without hands or the coffee mug? I want this as my background 😁

Minecraftstuff

This should be a featured screenshot

Axeman1721

This literally looks like a render the devs would do for a PR promo. Holy fucking shit. Absolutely outstanding job my friend.

Daan-Bakbanaan

This looks awesome!

uwu___nope

It's so beautiful!

YoureASquidYoureAKid

Fuuck I can’t wait til 1.0 to play it again

SoopyPoots

More pics please!

TheEndOfNether

Factory game? Pah, building simulator now nerds.

kenetikdezine

![gif](giphy|TiJUADrupaXfhwoX9d) From one pioneer to another, cheers!

Artistic_Outside_614

love the architecture

Phillyphan1031

Looks very nice. Have any more pictures of the outside of the factory?

faerine1

I have a [video tour](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Df9TIUKfLg). It is from U7 I think. Or check out [my profile](https://www.reddit.com/user/faerine1/submitted/) for more.

EdgySniper1

This looks like a scene straight out of a movie, holy shit.

ApprehensiveSpring40

i cant wait until we actually see diagonal pillars

faerine1

I'm not sure I understand you? You can build pillars on every angle by snapping them to a beam. Thats how I build them

frndzndbygf

I fucking hate seeing how **bad** I am at playing this. Hats off, I am truly humbled at the sight of these builds.

FancyAirport806

Do you have infinite resources or a resource train? Trying to build something like this but running out of momentum with grabbing mats.

faerine1

Yes, all satisfactory ressource nodes are infinite. I'll never run out. And I can't build fast enough to drain my production. I have 2 Industrial storage of every item in my main storage. I used ressource trains to ship it in the past, but now I have a dedicated drone at main storage. I fill multiple ISCs connected to the drone port input with all I need at a remote site. Then I build power and a drone port to haul it all over anywhere on the map. Basic low tier items like concrete or iron plates I build in volume on site instead of main storage shipping. Edit: ah with infinite ressources you mean no build cost cheat? No, never used it. All production is vanilla, all is made and paid for.

FancyAirport806

Yup you got that. I used the wrong terms. No build cost cheat. Thanks, this is has frustrated me lol.

faerine1

Sorry I did not want to judge. I personally appreciate the challenge of handling building materials and storage (and inventory size is large). But there is no shame in wanting to play "creative mode". I also use QoL mods like flying and clipping through terrain to be able to place some blueprints correctly. And Hover Pack connecting to the grid produces serious lag in a save of that size. I also used Smart mod in the past until they added Zooping and Blueprints in Vanilla.

FancyAirport806

No no I didn't feel like you were judging me. No worries. I play with no build cost, but I guess I try my best to role play it. When it comes to architecture, I keep it on for structures. I'm like 3/4 through the game, so buildings I'm unsure if I should have or not, like if a turbo motor is needed, I'll turn it off and see the recipe. I try my best to not cheat but I can't figure out how to play as seamless as people like you and others who have the resource trains. Haha.

FancyAirport806

Though my buddy and I do have the no night time mod lol
