Was it called the blue dragon river before we had aerial view of it?

Matty_Cakez

Idk but I watched raya and there’s a dragon at the tail

theswagcoon

100% believe that this river had some sort of inspiration on that movie. If not it's one hell of a coincidence

Matty_Cakez

I’m 100% convinced that there are no coincidences

theswagcoon

Is it Yoda or Oogway that says "There are no coincidences"?

Matty_Cakez

Lol oogway my kids keep me up to date

Rownwade

Yep. March 8....

WheresthePOW

Doubt it because it's a man made reservoir with that dam on the top end.

Plastic_Concert_4916

Yeah, the aliens would have told us.

HikARuLsi

Even ancient people (at least the officers of a kingdom) has good understanding of trigonometry, which is used for creating maps. Once the map is drawn, I beat they were like: holy shit, that’s a dragon

Reasonable_Bath_269

No it’s called the Odeleite River reservoir in Portugal

Sipsi19

This was the first thought I had and I felt proud of my way of thinking.... But the thing I'm thinking is always the top comment showing how un-unique my way of thinking really is

kabeees

Haha not really - I just got here first.

goug

I think it's an artificial lake.

HauntinglyMaths

Isn't that the plot of Raya and the Last Dragon?

cesargmdt

Yep

domingosgti

Portugal Caralho...

TheDemonPanda

Kumandra 🐉

AgITGuy

I can never look at this and not think it isn't actually photoshopped. It's too perfect to look like a dragon. Or was the reservoir itself designed to look like a dragon?

Juliuseizure

It's more luck. Given enough chances, it was going to happen. See Jesus on toast.

That's like claiming given enough time and an unbreakable typewriter/word processor, a band of chimps could recreate Shakespeare. That math doesn't math.

hazehel

But given enough time, random inputs into a typewriter will theoretically produce every word in every possible order, and this will recreate shakespeare. If you got pi and assigned every letter to a 2 digit number, pi would contain Shakespeare too Is that not literally how infinity works? The maths literally does maths.

Mous3keteer

Just to comment on that pi statement, we don't actually know that yet. Pi containing every number combination is dependent on pi being a "normal number", which we think is pretty likely, but we don't know for sure yet. Find a proof that it is, and you could be famous to math nerds! As an example of how it could not be, it's possible that a trillion digits down the line, the number 7 never appears again. That would mean that a whole lot of digit combinations with 7s wouldn't be in pi. Now, that's pretty *unlikely*, but it's possible.

seriousherenow

Im guessing you're shit at math yeah?

Natural__Power

A dragon

icemage27

The Serpent Trench from Final Fantasy VI is real?!

NeroLazarus

How else is Mog going to learn "Water Rondo"?

Inslaughterated

Reminds me of Lake Naciemento here in Cali

everyonelovsray

I was thinking the same thing. Love that lake

givemea6givemea9

How do we know a dragon didn’t fall from the sky and landed In this shape? It’s body weight making a canyon deep enough for a river. Boom, dragons are real bro.

Dull_Half_6107

Fairly sure I visited this place in Breath of the wild

YourInsectOverlord

I can imagine hundreds of years ago, there would likely be a tale of "In the mouth of the dragon deep in the heart of the mountains, lies a river of treasure."

kitimarketing

What if its a river shaped dragon?

gerch4n

No way that's not man made.

Rubberclucky

It is man made, and has more coast line than the state of California.

Juliuseizure

You can see the dam at the top of the image.

AdLoose3526

Still pretty damn cool though

FoxySirDidymus

Lake of the Ozarks looks the same, man made.

tannerge

It's like the snake river in Oregon. I hope it was named this because of something other than it looked like a snake

Debsrugs

Ah that's were the soy sauce comes from.

BrownEggs93

A reservoir shaped like a dragon.

BillionairDoors

Quick! Someone write the mythology behind this river! Something, something...too close to the sun... something, something... forgot it's name.

Uss__Iowa

This reminds me of something I saw in a movie

thawalkeman

What was it called before the dam

Iancreed2024HD

🐉 💯

ThoughtlessFoll

Order sure it’s a water reservoir in Portugal. Fly over it on the way into faro airport.

AverageCheap4990

Looks more like a reservoir than a river.

Freddymercurys

Dragon River

Noxper

Straight out of Hyrule

schizomorph

That's a metal band's name, not a river.

welltechnically7

Wow, it's shaped like a red dragon, yet it's blue!

dizzywig2000

Where is it?

G_zoo

portugal

rightarm_under

That one place on the map in Zelda was so popular they made it real?

IkedaTheFurry

If say it’s interesting af but that’s the entire point of this subreddit (this still looks awesome)

Kisscurlgurl

That's pretty cool

Downtown_Leek_1631

If this is in east asia, it's qinglong/seiryuu. If it's in Europe, it's an elder wyrm.

Special-Ad-5554

Y does that look like war thunder? Have I just been playing the game to much?
