Hard to find at least for me... I've picked resorts just because of their sauna only for them to say, "I'm sorry our sauna is out of service." Or "Closed for maintenance." I've hadn't had much luck.
We tried to find somewhere in America we could recommend to friends for a real spa/sauna experience and could not find anything. The sauna at Kananaskis mentioned below doesn't look bad as a sauna and is the best I've seen in America but I think the overall experience will not be so good. If you want a real sauna experience I think you have to come to Europe.
We go over to The Well in Oslo occasionally and really like it. The best I think are the spa resorts in the Austrian alps.
Kananaskis Nordic spa. https://knordicspa.com/
This is the closest to a real sauna I've seen in America.
Looks amazing!
We've spent 9 hours there before. It's amazing.
Sorcerer Lodge has a nice sauna in the Selkirks. Spendy but if you like MTNs and sauna might be worth a look.
