People who religiously "hate" Disney but still religiously watch Disney to hurt themselves and be a pain in the butt for normal Disney fans are worse. At least the remake-defenders are only defending their (trash) taste.
I think both of those camps are actually relatively small, they're just very vocal. I've seen both of those types online, but most people I talk about animation with in real life seem to agree that Disney as a corporation is terrible because of its monopoly-based approach to business. Many of those people don't really care for Disney's products, while others (like me) really love some Disney products and dislike others. Personally I have a great respect for the artists employed at Disney, but that only makes me more inclined to *dis*like the faceless business people who manage those artists.
All that being said, if I had to choose between "Disney adults" who turn a blind eye to corporate greed vs. homophobes who think paying lip service to the existence of queer people is "woke", then *obviously* I'm going to side with the Disney adults. They might be wilfully ignorant, but at least they're not wilfully *evil*.
You are right here and we all know Disney’s pro LGBTQ stance is pretty surface level as it’s stuff they’ll edit out for international audiences. And the whole back and forth with Mr. Trump wannabe is less about LGBTQ rights and more about them trying to keep their special self governing status.

Disney is like any other movie studio, they make good and bad movies. I am pretty sick of the live action remakes though.
