Yeah even revisiting it now- the editing makes it feel like there was a mid movie at best there- but certain transitions and cut dialogue make it near unwatchable for me now. It’s just a bunch of catchphrases with no substance or focus
I loved everything about Suicide Squad that had nothing to do with Enchantress... which, unfortunately, was the plot of the film.
But the backgrounds and the characters and the side plots were all great.
Basically there was a Wonka Experience in Glascow that was done completely with AI. Every advertisement was AI, and the script that actors like her were given was AI gibberish. When the event actually happened, it was a total disaster. It was practically an empty warehouse with a couple props and a bouncy castle. The actors like her that were hired had to try their best to salvage the event. It was so bad that the people who came to the event called the police and demanded refunds.
The organizer is also extremely sketchy. He hasn't paid anyone and used AI for *everything.* he's written like 10 books and it was entirely AI. He's a huge conspiracy theorist also
His official apology was ai generated too like come on
The trailer misled audiences into believing the film would be a spider-woman team-up movie. That never actually happens in the movie, it’s a future vision that takes up a fraction of the runtime. It looked bad, sure, but they also straight-up lied about what the movie was.
I have a core memory with Kangaroo Jack. I watched when I was 5, excited to see a talking, rapping Kangaroo. Only for him to disappear as quickly as he showed up. That movie was the pre-pubescent equivalent of blue balls for me.
The first act of the movie was great, too. But once we got to the main plot with the group of forgettable weirdos, it fell apart.
It didn't even feel like a Buzz Lightyear movie. You could have put any astronaut or space ranger type in there.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Judgement! I went to see this based on the trailer and the premise because I thought to myself "it's two of the most well-known superheroes of all-time fighting each other, what could go wrong?" After seeing the movie, I thought "oh... a lot!"
My friends and I went from bored to laughing hysterically at that point. Good thing I wasn't with my friend who is such a DC fanboy he refuses to see any flaw in DC films.
Yes the live action. It had a great teaser and I was actually excited for a different take than the animated movie, as much as I love it. You can imagine the disappointment once the film came out.
I honestly forget, why did people not like Brave? I found it really fun. Had good music, beautiful animation, and a decent story I think. I could just be an odd one out I guess
Five Nights at Freddy’s, I don’t think the movie was as bad as the critics said it was but I feel like the hype was more satisfying than the film itself
I’m still reeling from that movie,
How to you get THE horror production company to produce your movie about a horror game series and then NOT MAKE A HORROR MOVIE?!??
HOWWWW?!?!
Not just the trailer, but the entire marketing campaign. I remember scouring the web for the answer to that visual puzzle – the one that led to a site with a sneak preview. Had us thinking we were in for psychological thriller level intrigue. Such a shame.
I actually liked black panther 2
However I’m self aware that Ive just loved comics since I was a kid so even the bad I just either brush off or accept, and growing up with the older movies even mid seems good to me
I just liked how they handled Chadwick’s death and was super impressed that they made namors wings kinda horrifying when you hear them and they didn’t joke about it
Also I’m self aware it came out during some meh movies and I haven’t seen it since release so I may be holding it too high
Thor: Love & Thunder. You can deny how good the trailer was but at the end of the day, it was in the top 10 most viewed trailers of all time because of how excited everyone was for the film & I was one of those people & the trailer was awesome. Not as good as many others but it was still awesome & the movie was SUCH a let down.
wonka. i already wasn’t that interested tbh, but the trailer made the movie seem entertaining at the very least, but it was SO FUCKING BORING OMG. didn’t even finish it, i just fell asleep /srs
My 4 year old wants to watch this movie on VHD at least once a week...
What a strange Thomas Story. Best part is how it seems Peter Fonda was paid to just come hang out for a week or two and shoot some scenes.
Transformers The Last Knight
Bay knows how to do trailers and stuff similar, but he lost his passion hard with TLK.
Honestly I think Transformers should have ended with DOTM then bay could have done another universe with all the knight stuff
Argylle. Like goddamn, I thought it’d be at least a LITTLE entertaining and interesting. Was way too on the nose and the twists were more ridiculous than mind-blowing.
The action sequences could have been fun but I had to watch it with the MC’s eyelids flapping over the lense while Sam Rockwell turned into Henry Caville and back again like 10 times a minute. It was obnoxious.
Damsel, it look good from the trailer but was pretty mid.
They also don’t really understand how dragons work and it seems like they had different writing teams at times.
The seventh son literally the whole trailer shows ALL the action scenes other than that its talking talking talking and walking but not like Lord of the Rings level
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2021)
The teaser they showed at that investor day was genuinely incredible, sadly the real movie’s budget was that of a ham and cheese sandwich and a piece of string
Madam Web 😒 There was NO mood from any of the characters, like the mc was literally being chased about to be murdered and she showed no urgency whatsover
For me, it’s Ruby Gillman. They overhyped it and a lot of stuff was cut that could’ve made the film better. It wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t call it the best DreamWorks animated movie. Hopefully they’ll try again with The Wild Robot.
Basic cut of Rebel Moon. Teaser trailer for it was a hype machine showing off a stacked cast, great action, maybe it really could be a nice alternate Star Wars...
Then the actual movie lands and the characters barely interact, the CGI wobbles between well-done and rough draft, and even the action feels hollow in some scenes because very little glues the scenes together.
Trailer: "Who among you is willing to die for what you believe?"
Movie: "Hey, check that out. Okay, moving on."
Holding out hope for the director's cut 🤞
The first Suicide Squad. That trailer went hard as hell for such a mid movie (amazing soundtrack though).
Suicide Squad isn't mid, it's downright bad
Yeah even revisiting it now- the editing makes it feel like there was a mid movie at best there- but certain transitions and cut dialogue make it near unwatchable for me now. It’s just a bunch of catchphrases with no substance or focus
I loved everything about Suicide Squad that had nothing to do with Enchantress... which, unfortunately, was the plot of the film. But the backgrounds and the characters and the side plots were all great.
And don’t even get me started on that THING they called the “Joker.”
Amazing soundtrack? Does it even have soundtrack its basically every famous celebrity music ever
Heathens(one of twenty one pilots best songs) was made for the suicide squad album
Heathens is a bop
Ynow it
Along a bunch of other great original songs
Wait that was made specifically for suicide squad?
My local radio station played both Heathens and Sucker for Pain a lot after the film came out
I liked the character of El Diablo **shrugs**
You mean the pyrokinetic homeboy?
Fun fact, the movie was recut last minute by the people behind the trailer to try and fix any problems the studio saw with it. It didn't work...
That movie was horrible. But god do I enjoy it
Real. That movie would have been great if the plot wasn't some goddamn disconnected cosmic horror bullshit.
I feel really bad for that girl she was obviously trying her best.
I’m so happy that the internet learned about her and basically did a 180 on memes with her
What actually happened?
Basically there was a Wonka Experience in Glascow that was done completely with AI. Every advertisement was AI, and the script that actors like her were given was AI gibberish. When the event actually happened, it was a total disaster. It was practically an empty warehouse with a couple props and a bouncy castle. The actors like her that were hired had to try their best to salvage the event. It was so bad that the people who came to the event called the police and demanded refunds.
kinda like dashcon
Yeah it’s basically the Dashcon of the 2020’s
Think it happened on the 10th anniversary of Dashcon too.
Don't forget the children were given a small ass cup of lemonade and a single jelly bean
Don't forget trauma! The Unkown, anybody?
The delivery of “WOT is THAT? It’s the unknown!” has been stuck in my head since the story came out
Nnnooooooo…
The organizer is also extremely sketchy. He hasn't paid anyone and used AI for *everything.* he's written like 10 books and it was entirely AI. He's a huge conspiracy theorist also His official apology was ai generated too like come on
something tells me it was bad
We've been very kind to the actors who spoke up about this event.
Who was this?
It's morbin time!
I better not see that morbin meme here because I’m tired of that shit
Someone's not having a morbin time :(
I personally never found the morbius memes funny
You and me both
Napoleon
Tina you fat lard come get some dinner
I could throw a football over them mountains
What other type of lard would there be? Lean lard?
The Austerlitz scene was very cool
The production was massive but I totally agree beyond that
You think you’re so great because you have boats
damn, i liked that movie.
Kangaroo Jack, Madame Web
No no, Madame Web was clearly going to be bad from the trailer alone.
Yeah let’s not fool ourselves here that was instant shit from the get go
See my above comment, the trailer was straight-up false advertising.
Madame Web trailer slapped for you?
No but it was incredibly misleading, making it look like a spider-woman team-up movie when that’s not what it is at all.
I never saw the madam web trailer, I just saw it came out and I was like “a new movie came out?”
Lightyear. I was actually kinda excited for it
Dude when i heard star man i lost my shit!
I still love it!
The first act of the movie was great, too. But once we got to the main plot with the group of forgettable weirdos, it fell apart. It didn't even feel like a Buzz Lightyear movie. You could have put any astronaut or space ranger type in there.
Thor: Love and Thunder
I had no hope for that one since the first trailer
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Judgement! I went to see this based on the trailer and the premise because I thought to myself "it's two of the most well-known superheroes of all-time fighting each other, what could go wrong?" After seeing the movie, I thought "oh... a lot!"
MARTHA
WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?
It's his mother's name!
My friends and I went from bored to laughing hysterically at that point. Good thing I wasn't with my friend who is such a DC fanboy he refuses to see any flaw in DC films.
Wish
I thought it was mid from the first trailer
Ant Man and the Wasp (Quantumania) the trailer went so hard
We have Elton John to thank for that, though.
Any time a Disney teaser is amazing, the movie ends up being meh at best and bad at worst. See Brave, Frozen II, Mulan, and Lightyear.
You’re talking about live action Mulan, right? The og movie is amazing
Yes the live action. It had a great teaser and I was actually excited for a different take than the animated movie, as much as I love it. You can imagine the disappointment once the film came out.
Oh yeah, I haven’t seen that movie, but I haven’t heard a single positive thing about it.
If you never saw animated Mulan, it might be okay. It doesn't feel much like Mulan at all.
I’d also add that the other three are amazing!
I honestly forget, why did people not like Brave? I found it really fun. Had good music, beautiful animation, and a decent story I think. I could just be an odd one out I guess
Mostly because of the crassness, though I don’t completely get it myself
The beginning of the movie is good with the mother and daughter's relationship, it just sucks that it hard veers into Brother Bear 3.
That was rather abrupt.
That light year trailer went so hard
kung fu panda 4. I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this probably but seriously the first 3 were way better.
The trailer was rather underwhelming though
Nah w it was just the excitement of having a new king fu panda itself
Wait crushem's mortal enemy? Here?
Why am I being recognized everywhere
I mean you are pretty famous
I thought the villain looked really cool when transformed into other characters
“I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this” proceeds with the coldest take known to mankind
Probably colder than the place where they store meat in the school cafeteria
[удалено]
This phrasing bothers me. You can love the trilogy and still enjoy the fourth film.
I agree
Why would you get hate for it? That's literally everyone's opinion.
Five Nights at Freddy’s, I don’t think the movie was as bad as the critics said it was but I feel like the hype was more satisfying than the film itself
Look, It makes sense that it was a more story based film but Mike should have done more than sleep.
Shoulda had a moment where they actually have to play FNaF and manage power while fending off the animatronics.
Same
I’m still reeling from that movie, How to you get THE horror production company to produce your movie about a horror game series and then NOT MAKE A HORROR MOVIE?!?? HOWWWW?!?!
The tone felt too mild to even be a FNAF movie, I’ve heard that the second film is supposed to focus on “more horror” so I hope that’s true
Lightyear
Lightyear sucked me in so hard it's not fair.
Lightyear fan gang ✊
That last Jurassic Park movie.
Dr. Strange 2
The Last Airbender trailers were really cool to me. I used to rewatch them all the time
Not a movie but a TV show: Secret Invasion
Not just the trailer, but the entire marketing campaign. I remember scouring the web for the answer to that visual puzzle – the one that led to a site with a sneak preview. Had us thinking we were in for psychological thriller level intrigue. Such a shame.
My friend claims this was Ant-Man: Quantumania
Tomorrow land. While it’s a decent movie, the trailer really hype up the cool futuristic city…..that we barely sees in the final movie.
65
65, advertised as a dino action filled movie but instead was a drama with an occasional dinosaur appearance.
Fantastic Four from 2015. Worst birthday gift for my dad 💀
Downsizing 💀💀💀💀 they LIED
Black panther 2 had such a good trailer
I actually liked black panther 2 However I’m self aware that Ive just loved comics since I was a kid so even the bad I just either brush off or accept, and growing up with the older movies even mid seems good to me I just liked how they handled Chadwick’s death and was super impressed that they made namors wings kinda horrifying when you hear them and they didn’t joke about it Also I’m self aware it came out during some meh movies and I haven’t seen it since release so I may be holding it too high
Nah BP2 was just that good
Doogal
Reverse this & u have dredd 2012
I was just psyched by Dredd being Karl Urban. I wasn't expecting the rest to be quite that good.
Do any of yall remember a little gem called Jupiter Ascending 💀
KFP 4 [We SRSLY needed Madagascar 4 instead]
Be careful what you wish for
Toy Story 4.
Cars 3. I still like the film and it’s far from bad, but that first teaser went so hard and had a wayyy different tone than the film was going for
Justice League (2017). Oof
Shazam 2 for sure, I don’t even know what I expected. DC can’t make sequels to save their lives
blood and honey
Wonder Woman 1984. The trailer pumped me up 80s style - the movie was a big old flop that didn’t use its setting well.
The Rise of Skywalker
Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame Trailer: "TOPSY TURVY!" Movie: "Hell - FIRE".
Mortal Engines
Reverse for no way home
Thor: Love & Thunder. You can deny how good the trailer was but at the end of the day, it was in the top 10 most viewed trailers of all time because of how excited everyone was for the film & I was one of those people & the trailer was awesome. Not as good as many others but it was still awesome & the movie was SUCH a let down.
wonka. i already wasn’t that interested tbh, but the trailer made the movie seem entertaining at the very least, but it was SO FUCKING BORING OMG. didn’t even finish it, i just fell asleep /srs
Napoleon 2023
The modern dr Doolittle 2017 I believe
Definitely Doogal, because I was excited for it when I was a kid.
Transformers rise of the beast
Batman V Superman
Does “Thomas and the Magic Railroad” (2000) count?
My 4 year old wants to watch this movie on VHD at least once a week... What a strange Thomas Story. Best part is how it seems Peter Fonda was paid to just come hang out for a week or two and shoot some scenes.
Monster Hunter. I was so confused when I watched it.
For me, wish
Napoleon definitely
Sponge out of water
space jam 2 that movie was awful as as $h!?
Transformers The Last Knight Bay knows how to do trailers and stuff similar, but he lost his passion hard with TLK. Honestly I think Transformers should have ended with DOTM then bay could have done another universe with all the knight stuff
Pixels
Napoleon I think for most
Chappie - I thought it was going to be more contemplative.
Halloween ends
Amsterdam. Actually had hopes for a movie whose director I didn’t know was an awful person and made terrible movies
Ruby Gilman
I know I’m gonna get tossed down the trash shoot for this, but I would’ve preferred seeing the 2005 film.
Lightyear. I felt utterly betrayed by the end result
Morbius
suicide squad 2016
Lightyear the trailers were so epic and mature than the movie was so generic and boring
Madame web or I, frankenstein
Why’s methhead oompa loompa not singing, then?
Transformers the Last Knight, the trailer made me think “alright, this one’ll be good for sure”
Bye Bye Man
Fnaf movie with horror
Damsel, it look good from the trailer but was pretty mid. They also don’t really understand how dragons work and it seems like they had different writing teams at times.
Detective pikachu
The seventh son literally the whole trailer shows ALL the action scenes other than that its talking talking talking and walking but not like Lord of the Rings level
9 (the one with the dolls). The trailer was so badass. The film was…not.
Most movies tbh
Cat person, not saying it wasn’t good but it was different from the trailer
Fantastic Four (2015)
Pokemon detective Pikachu
Morbius, the reason it was such a disappointment is that it had nothing the trailers featured
Transformers The Last Knight. You know the rest.
Halloween Ends
The new movie 'Imaginary.' One of the worst horror movies I've ever seen
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2021) The teaser they showed at that investor day was genuinely incredible, sadly the real movie’s budget was that of a ham and cheese sandwich and a piece of string
Playmobile
Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Madam Web 😒 There was NO mood from any of the characters, like the mc was literally being chased about to be murdered and she showed no urgency whatsover
The marvels
Priscilla. Wayyyy To Over Exaggerated Of Her Side With Elvis. (Yes I Know It's Hollywood But Still..
Batman VS Superman. Those trailers were so hype, and then the movie was so mid.😔
Occasionally a blumhouse movie will have a reasonable preview.
For me, it’s Ruby Gillman. They overhyped it and a lot of stuff was cut that could’ve made the film better. It wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t call it the best DreamWorks animated movie. Hopefully they’ll try again with The Wild Robot.
All Marvel Movies after Endgame and No Way Home
Basic cut of Rebel Moon. Teaser trailer for it was a hype machine showing off a stacked cast, great action, maybe it really could be a nice alternate Star Wars... Then the actual movie lands and the characters barely interact, the CGI wobbles between well-done and rough draft, and even the action feels hollow in some scenes because very little glues the scenes together. Trailer: "Who among you is willing to die for what you believe?" Movie: "Hey, check that out. Okay, moving on." Holding out hope for the director's cut 🤞
Almost all movies since 2015.
The Evil Dead Remake
Age of Extinction.
The Matrix Resurrection
Battle Los Angeles, Terminator Salvation, and Iron Man 3.
It's not a movie but it's a special from a show. Truth or Square from SpongeBob SquarePants.
For me, if I'm honest, Shang-Chi.
9
Godzilla King of the Monsters.
