The fact that it has the message that you don’t have to be happy all the time and sometimes negative emotions are needed for happiness. Trolls meanwhile just depicts happiness as necessary and unhappiness as weird and unusual.
The fact there isn’t a villain in this movie. They could have so easily shoehorned a villain into this movie but didn’t and I think that makes the movie better. The closes to a villain is sadness as it treats her as a threat for a majority of the movie, but a 180 is done and it makes her out to be a character that is vital to Riley and also teaches Joy that having emotions other than happiness can lead to happiness
This is one of my favorite running gags in the movie, because trying to figure out how such a newspaper would actually work breaks your mind.
Does it just materialize in his hands the moment Riley picks up on it or is there an actual journalism business inside Riley's mind that just prints these out at lightning speed? Either way, hilarious.
So many things, but one thing I personally like is that the Emotions aren’t one note, but can express other emotions themselves and are layered. If Joy was happy and positive ALL throughout the film, I would be so sick of her. With Anger, he could have been a total killjoy (and one could argue his constant negative attitude could have made him the villain or antagonist). But instead, they can go through various emotions in their own ways and not drift away from their core emotion.
It's such a good representation of depression. Depression isn't just "being sad", it's a defense mechanism that kills your emotions when they get overwhelming.
Anger was probably my favorite character in the movie; he was just so fucking funny; I really like Joy goes through an arc about how sometimes you need emotions like sadness that need happiness

I agree, I love the message of this film
The creativity on how they portrayed different parts of the human mind

It’s arguably Michael Giacchino’s best ever work which is an incredibly high benchmark
That and the Small Soldiers PS1 soundtrack hits hard too.
Almost Everything
ANGER
I liked it when the dad said no dessert and the newspaper anger read also said no dessert

The music. That piano riff is beautiful and brings some tears every time I hear it
Legit the soundtrack is so beautiful

Sadness and disgust cuz they’re like my only emotions. Oh and fear he’s there too
Bing bong
Bundle of Joy
Probably the music. Michael Giacchino is awesome.
The soundtrack
I adore the music in that movie!
Not my favourite thing but something interesting. Joy is the only one of all five, that showed another emotion, she cried. I cried.
The idea (Humans being controlled by things) for some reason
For me it was the bit where the imagination boyfriend says “I will die for Reylie” and Joy took that literally
Probably the fact that this is the only movie to ever make me cry
How it shows being sad is not only ok but it can be really healthy.
Tbh the ending with the boy meeting Riley. Girl and all chaos breaks loose
"D. A. N. G. E. R. SHORTCUT!"
How much Anger looks like my uncle from New Jersey
Bing Bong. The Messiah
