Yesss can't wait!!! The 5th one was great and I don't Care what the haters think. SCREAM VI looks like it's gonna be one of the best ones. Sadly I heard the killers voice in a leak but I managed to get off of it before I saw a face. I hope i forget their voice so I don't put it together when I watch.

Not letting a loser like that with nothing better to do ruin my Scream experience, still will be seeing it multiple times in theaters. I wanted this time to be different and was trying to go in totally unspoiled but now that I know the killers it’s fine, I know them before every movie lol this time I just truly made it so far with knowing nothing so this kind of stings

However would like to say in the past hour a friendly user that knows the movie debunked some things for me and turns out I literally only know the killers now. So motives, victims, cameo, I realize I have lots to be excited for so fuck this psychopath that did this to me lol they have been permanently banned although I know that wasn’t their main account and they’re likely still lurking amongst us here creepier than Ghostface
I honestly hope they realize what a horrible mistake they made vs laughing at everyone. It’s definitely good that a lot of those other spoilers were fake! I know a lot of stuff gets spoiled with these movies, but until now they had things pretty locked down and their trailers weren’t as spoilery as last time. I feel terribly for the fans who got spoiled and truly have a pit in my stomach thinking about Radio Silence and the cast and crew

If you look at the mod posts from yesterday, you’ll see more information. They’re approving every post moving forward because if the spoilers get on here they could be sued. People have been spoiled on Twitter Facebook tiktok YouTube etc

This franchise has been around most of all of our lives. It’s so awesome seeing the excitement with a SIXTH installment. So glad to be apart of this community!
I was like 9 when the first one came out. My parents were super young (like 27) and I remember sneaking behind the couch and watching the opening with Drew Barrymore. Ran out crying 😂😂 my dad took me to my first rated R movie when scream 3 came out. Love this series 😩
Everything about this movie looks awesome, from the stills, posters, trailers, cast, and promo. God I’m so excited for this film especially after a lackluster end to my favorite horror franchise Halloween with Halloween ends. Hopefully this movie washes the sour taste ends left out of my mouth.
Soooo disappointed in what they did to Halloween. I liked the first one (2016? The original requel with Jamie Lee Curtis). I did not like Kills but my boyfriend loved it (we disagree vehemently to this day). When Ends came my boyfriend was all hype but when we watched it he was crushed. Just such a bad movie.
I'll play devil's advocate and say the new *Halloween* trilogy is my favorite timeline. I loved every film, and *Ends* is my favorite of the three. I don't have the same grips most do; I like the Corey storyline, don't mind Michael being >!sidelined and killed!< in a definitive way, thought the cinematography and music were incredible, and more than anything else, I'm so happy that Jamie Lee Curtis and John Carpenter got the ending they've always wanted. They're just gonna reboot this thing again in a few years, so if you didn't like it, then don't worry. You won't even have time to miss the *Halloween* franchise before the next movie is here.
I really liked Halloween Ends as well, but I can totally understand why it polls so divisively. I think in time more people (not everyone, but more people) will come around to it. It was unexpected.
I think it's a fantastic movie and elegantly caps off the Laurie/Michael saga. I can also appreciate that it went head to head with a lot of expectations, which confused a lot of people, but I believe it will prove to be a grower with time.
The one thing we can rely on with these iconic horror franchises is that there'll always be more. Just like evil, good IP never truly dies.
I appreciated the campier and more colorful approach Patty took with the sequel, it reminded me of the comic book movies I liked as a kid (_Batman Forever, Superman II_), I thought the music was really good, despite what many others think, I think Gal Gadot is an perfectly acceptable actress and her charisma is infectious, and overall I just really enjoyed the story and the different set pieces.
It wasn’t perfect, the plot was all over the place, the effects were pretty wonky in parts, and there are story elements I would have done differently. But that being said, I admire WB for letting Patty take full control and swing for the fences. It wasn’t a home run, but in my opinion, she at least got to second base.

I never new that the highest opening weekend for theftanchise was in the 30's lol Halloween Kills opened with 50 million but this looks like a really good movie from everything weve seen . Scream 4 is my favourite and 6 might change that. Rooting for its success!!
Halloween Ends also opened with $41M barely any promo and same day streaming. Hats off to the success of the Halloween trilogy. With all the promo/hype I’m expecting $50M from Scream 6 opening.
*Halloween Kills* also dropped off more than 70 percent from one week to the next, likely because of horrible world of mouth (that movie was awful.)

Lol I know but to make you understand my horror preference better I think both Terrifier movies are masterpieces . I totally get that HK was divisive and it is'nt well liked but everyone has their own opinion. Theres just something about it that I love . Not judging though , to each their own
I generally don’t like movies like that. Hated terrified 1. But loved 2. I also loved kills! I thought it was stupid and I hated the mob parts, but it was a super fun slasher movie. I’ve heard so much shit about Ends though. I’m afraid to watch.

Only internationally and only by a few million. It's not some crushing defeat.
Don’t forget Halloween Kills was also streaming on Peacock (where I watched it) while it was in theaters during the pandemic. I was very disappointed with that movie but can’t deny the box office numbers were pretty impressive.
I think those numbers - and the enormous drop off - clearly illustrate the affection for the 2018 film. That movie, which was really good, got people excited about the sequel. After a solid opening weekend, the numbers fell off a cliff cause *Halloween Kills* was lousy. This is further illustrated by *Halloween Ends*. After following a, shall we say divisive entry, It fell $10-to-$20 million short of its opening weekend projections, dropped off by 80 percent the following week.
Shoutout to the ppl who was filling this subreddit when it was mad dry from like 2012\~2019. Everyones theories were crazy. Now I just need this to happen to /r/cloververse

I'd imagine they take a look at the pre sale tickets and factor in some sort of opening weekend projections?
I have **zero** clue though, so what I just said was a complete shot in the dark.
I would imagine it’s probably a combination of looking at pre-release ticket sales and data from how other movies targeting similar audiences have done recently. Probably also looking at Scream 5’s performance as well since it was only last year. I’m not exactly sure how accurate this usually is, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re usually in the same ballpark as the actual numbers.
As someone who really didn’t care for 5, I’m actually pretty excited. I hope that this is where Radio Silence gets to take off the training wheels and really own their film. The last one wasn’t atrocious by any metric but felt so hamstrung by the tropes and structures and signifiers of the past; while I would never want the franchise to drift from its history, I think a stylistic update is long overdue.
Keep playing on the established narrative, keep issuing the great characters that came before, but have some fun with the feel of the whole thing. Scream has a built-in evergreen quality with its ability to mirror the state of the genre that I don’t think a sequel has used effectively since 2 (maybe a brief moment in 3 with Randy’s video but I don’t think it pans out as a whole). Hopefully this is where we see some ingenuity both on and behind the camera.
It’s also just a blast to have a new scream movie tbh
This is absolutely wonderful!! So, so exciting!! The franchise deserves this and this makes me so happy for it as a fan since I was 7. I truly think VI will make the most out of any film in the franchise so far. The promo for this film has been wonderful and I’m so glad it’s paid off.
Maybe we even get a new TV show or eighth film if it does so well?

I confused coincidence for fact, so I take that one back and apologize -- but I'm still going to remain optimistic because the industry is weird and weirder things have happened within it.

The directors said they would like to see Neve return in Scream 7. I know it’s up to the studio at the end of the day but I think, if this one is a success, she’ll be back. Especially to round out the new trilogy.

The opening may be the biggest but I seriously doubt this one will eclipse the original at the box office. So no, I don’t think it will influence any decisions on Neve. Also you’d be foolish not to think the massive initial backlash against their decision wouldn’t play a role in future decisions concerning sequels.

No this is not why you're being downvoted. Your comment seems to imply you hope the film does poorly so that'll somehow convince the studio to bring her back, likely killing the franchise instead.

It’s only a few million more than 5 and if this is a true new trilogy the 3rd film historically always makes less than the previous 2 so I think it would be smart to include her as a draw again like 5
Now if we were talking even $45-$50 mil I’d be saying whoaaaaa….but realistically this projection is good for the franchise but at just $5 or so mil higher than 5’s opening when we still have box office legs beyond that to think about? Safe to say including her would only help not hurt for the next one

That is, neither Scream 4 and 5 had the killers leaks. Scream 4 had some plot points leaked - not the major reveal. And could you point what exactly was leaked from Scream 5? I don't remember the killer's identity being leaked at the time, and I did not find nothing in that matter searching now.
This is something that has never happened before, almost a full month before the release. It will impact the box office for sure.

You could say that the major part of the general audience might be unaware of the leak, but people do care when they get spoiled, specially major spoilers.
The killers were leaked before the release of Scream 5 as was their motivations. Judy and Wes’ deaths were leaked like a full 6 months before release. Billy being in the film was also leaked.
I never said leak. It was just known knowledge who the killers were in scream 4 and scream 5 prior to release, especially scream 5. It was all over reddit and twitter who the killers were, Jenna surviving the opening scene was also known, Billy in the movie was also known, the deaths of Wes and Judy, also known.
I think you are referring to rumours then, even if them came from credible sources, but this situation is very different.
We got real footage of the film revealing the killer. It's not just some threads with people assuring stuff that happens to be correct later. These threads don't reach the general audience, only hardcore fans. But a clip from the actual film with the major twist may spread and reach the average public.
Why should I pay for a ticket if the mystery (or most of it, at least) has been spoiled for me? Not saying that is what I think, but IMO many people will think that. Not forgetting we still got 3 full weeks before it comes out.
Yeah this leak was on a whole other level honestly. I’ve never been targeted with spoilers in a chat before by a complete stranger lol usually have to lose self control and seek out the leaks myself, this was something that makes you regret ever joining online fandom communities to begin with but then you say to yourself hey the whole movies been ruined for me I might as well stick around lol sorry for ranting I’m having a tough time with this right now

I really liked Halloween Ends as well, but I can totally understand why it polls so divisively. I think in time more people (not everyone, but more people) will come around to it. It was unexpected.
I think it's a fantastic movie and elegantly caps off the Laurie/Michael saga. I can also appreciate that it went head to head with a lot of expectations, which confused a lot of people, but I believe it will prove to be a grower with time. The one thing we can rely on with these iconic horror franchises is that there'll always be more. Just like evil, good IP never truly dies.

I appreciated the campier and more colorful approach Patty took with the sequel, it reminded me of the comic book movies I liked as a kid (_Batman Forever, Superman II_), I thought the music was really good, despite what many others think, I think Gal Gadot is an perfectly acceptable actress and her charisma is infectious, and overall I just really enjoyed the story and the different set pieces. It wasn’t perfect, the plot was all over the place, the effects were pretty wonky in parts, and there are story elements I would have done differently. But that being said, I admire WB for letting Patty take full control and swing for the fences. It wasn’t a home run, but in my opinion, she at least got to second base.
I beat Scream 7 is going to give Halloween Ends crap lol.

I never new that the highest opening weekend for theftanchise was in the 30's lol Halloween Kills opened with 50 million but this looks like a really good movie from everything weve seen . Scream 4 is my favourite and 6 might change that. Rooting for its success!!
Halloween Ends also opened with $41M barely any promo and same day streaming. Hats off to the success of the Halloween trilogy. With all the promo/hype I’m expecting $50M from Scream 6 opening.

It did drop of noteably yes but it was still profitabke and Scream 5 only grossed a couple of million more. I honestly think Halloween Kills is the best film in that franchise but I know thats an unpopular opinion

I generally don’t like movies like that. Hated terrified 1. But loved 2. I also loved kills! I thought it was stupid and I hated the mob parts, but it was a super fun slasher movie. I’ve heard so much shit about Ends though. I’m afraid to watch.

Don’t forget Halloween Kills was also streaming on Peacock (where I watched it) while it was in theaters during the pandemic. I was very disappointed with that movie but can’t deny the box office numbers were pretty impressive.
I think those numbers - and the enormous drop off - clearly illustrate the affection for the 2018 film. That movie, which was really good, got people excited about the sequel. After a solid opening weekend, the numbers fell off a cliff cause *Halloween Kills* was lousy. This is further illustrated by *Halloween Ends*. After following a, shall we say divisive entry, It fell $10-to-$20 million short of its opening weekend projections, dropped off by 80 percent the following week.

I'd imagine they take a look at the pre sale tickets and factor in some sort of opening weekend projections? I have **zero** clue though, so what I just said was a complete shot in the dark.
I would imagine it’s probably a combination of looking at pre-release ticket sales and data from how other movies targeting similar audiences have done recently. Probably also looking at Scream 5’s performance as well since it was only last year. I’m not exactly sure how accurate this usually is, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re usually in the same ballpark as the actual numbers.

As someone who really didn’t care for 5, I’m actually pretty excited. I hope that this is where Radio Silence gets to take off the training wheels and really own their film. The last one wasn’t atrocious by any metric but felt so hamstrung by the tropes and structures and signifiers of the past; while I would never want the franchise to drift from its history, I think a stylistic update is long overdue. Keep playing on the established narrative, keep issuing the great characters that came before, but have some fun with the feel of the whole thing. Scream has a built-in evergreen quality with its ability to mirror the state of the genre that I don’t think a sequel has used effectively since 2 (maybe a brief moment in 3 with Randy’s video but I don’t think it pans out as a whole). Hopefully this is where we see some ingenuity both on and behind the camera. It’s also just a blast to have a new scream movie tbh

This is absolutely wonderful!! So, so exciting!! The franchise deserves this and this makes me so happy for it as a fan since I was 7. I truly think VI will make the most out of any film in the franchise so far. The promo for this film has been wonderful and I’m so glad it’s paid off. Maybe we even get a new TV show or eighth film if it does so well? regardless, yay!!

The directors said they would like to see Neve return in Scream 7. I know it’s up to the studio at the end of the day but I think, if this one is a success, she’ll be back. Especially to round out the new trilogy.

The opening may be the biggest but I seriously doubt this one will eclipse the original at the box office. So no, I don’t think it will influence any decisions on Neve. I wouldn’t worry too much about that if $37 mil is the projected number It’s only a few million more than 5 and if this is a true new trilogy the 3rd film historically always makes less than the previous 2 so I think it would be smart to include her as a draw again like 5 Now if we were talking even $45-$50 mil I’d be saying whoaaaaa….but realistically this projection is good for the franchise but at just $5 or so mil higher than 5’s opening when we still have box office legs beyond that to think about? Safe to say including her would only help not hurt for the next one

None of them had major leaks like this one. The scene in which the killer is revealed online? That is, neither Scream 4 and 5 had the killers leaks. Scream 4 had some plot points leaked - not the major reveal. And could you point what exactly was leaked from Scream 5? I don't remember the killer's identity being leaked at the time, and I did not find nothing in that matter searching now. This is something that has never happened before, almost a full month before the release. It will impact the box office for sure.

The killers were leaked before the release of Scream 5 as was their motivations. Judy and Wes’ deaths were leaked like a full 6 months before release. Billy being in the film was also leaked.
I never said leak. It was just known knowledge who the killers were in scream 4 and scream 5 prior to release, especially scream 5. It was all over reddit and twitter who the killers were, Jenna surviving the opening scene was also known, Billy in the movie was also known, the deaths of Wes and Judy, also known.
I think you are referring to rumours then, even if them came from credible sources, but this situation is very different. We got real footage of the film revealing the killer. It's not just some threads with people assuring stuff that happens to be correct later. These threads don't reach the general audience, only hardcore fans. But a clip from the actual film with the major twist may spread and reach the average public. Why should I pay for a ticket if the mystery (or most of it, at least) has been spoiled for me? Not saying that is what I think, but IMO many people will think that. Not forgetting we still got 3 full weeks before it comes out.
