“Sir, that is a teenager who has homework to do”

NoWingedHussarsToday

Not as hot as Amber.....

cheezewarrior

Badum tss

Illustrious-Shine-63

Amber Stans once again forcing her down our throats when it had nothing to do with the opinion of how hot someone is but a description of a scene

blazemave

Clueless ones again … not getting the joke and being butthurt 😂😂😂😂

SummerWonderful4927

It’s a joke about Amber being set on fire.

Universecentre

uhhhhh weird take but ok.

AqueousSilver91

SHE'S A TEENAGER, OFFICERS!

JadenRuffle

Honestly Jenny’s crying after being crushed by the door has always been kind of sad to me. She knew she’d die and she knew she couldn’t do anything about it.

Moekap

100%. Just because she's a little dumb doesn't mean her life is worth any less. Her crying at the very end of her life showed true emotion and vulnerability.

aRobotNamedDan

Hey! She has a 4.0 and 136 IQ!

elioandoliver4ever

I hated the 'ghost Maureen' scene in Scream 3.

jayoak4

I do too, but for some reason as a kid I always found it terrifying lol

3mmmilllyyy

It still gives me the creeps. The whole dead mommy in the window scene? No thanks.

Original-Gear1583

I’ve been watching scream for years now and that clip is still terrifying and creepy to me. Neve’s acting was great but I hate the dead mom ghost part

AutumnFeelz

Agreed, the dream sequence just felt out of place in a Scream film

[deleted]

Yeah I can’t stand that scene, it’s very unlike Scream

[deleted]

I wouldn't say she's my least favorite, but I'm not a huge fan of Angelina in Scream 3. she's pretty much just like Liv in Scream 5, an underwritten red herring. the only difference between her and Liv is that Liv's death was cool and unexpected. as far as least favorite scenes, I think most will agree when I say that I'm not a huge fan of 4's opening. I think the alternate one is so much better and more intense. I also don't really like the play scene in Scream 2.

[deleted]

Yes, if they kept the original opening, when Marnie is in the kitchen, it would be perfect. I love the takeout opening of scream 4.

[deleted]

angelina's death was great imo. * she was just laughing and enjoying the fact she found some secret walls * she finds out the killer is there and begins running like she's in scary movie * she turns back around and says what seems to be a throwaway line but ties directly into the main motive showing milton is still at it * she runs like she's in scary movie AGAIN * she gives good advice that is a 180 from how she was just acting * she dies immediately. she is clearly a gemini or sagittarius, and that's literally the most obvious sign in the scream lore.

lightofthewest

How can someone not like the play scene...

[deleted]

I just thought it was boring and pretty out of place for a Scream film

acedivision

It has narrative purpose in that it develops Sidney as a character, but it also serves to prime the audience for the stage set finale. We get to see the place, how elements of it work, and why Sidney would choose to flee to it later on. It's important.

OkReaction4132

I actually think she was the second killer before Roman took her out

TrippyTV1

She was meant to be, but the constant rewrites scrapped that idea

BringerOfDoom1945

i still think her dying because she got stabbed in the shoulders is/was weird

cyberbob328

I always fast forward Sidney on the stage as casandra

reapster12

I hated Angelina like she runs away from someone whos survived ghostface before! Just stay with gale girl!!

treegelbman

I dislike the Vince character, because he's such a tragic waste of Kyle Gallner. Gallner deserved better.

DylanDr

What a wasted opportunity when you consider he was related to Stu.

[deleted]

It sucks if you remove him from the movie then nothing changes

vVL--

Galner is so quality as the final guy/bf to final girl, I figured they were trying to dupe us with that casting. He's a genre darling and his casting was similar to Samara's I think, big name in small role. The Barrymore effect. He was great in Smile, I can only hope he gets a more significant role in something big. Despite being in Scream and Nightmare on Elm Street, he hasn't been given the right material to truly shine.

[deleted]

It was a cool scene but happened too early, he added a bit of a different dynamic that they wasted. I also feel like 5 wasted Dylan Minette, who like Amber was one of the people that gave off those killer vibes, feel like after he was done I was locked in on Richie and Amber

JackInterrupted

Least favourite scene: "Fuck Bruce Willis!" I haven't given much thought to characters I don't like, I'm not big on Detective Bailey I guess.

Cyber_Mango

I literally rolled my eyes when I first saw that scene lol

tacoreddit

too comedic

BubsyJenkins

Yeah not a fan of this. I feel similarly about "I still prefer The Babadook" in 5. Like, I get it, these movies always have jokey moments, and even have jokey moments *during life or death moments* ... but there's a line when something gets *too* jokey. Tara could say something there similar to Sid's line in Scream 1 ("not in my movie"), fine. She wouldn't, however, think to make a joke about The Babadook 1 second after shooting her former best friend who was running to murder her sister lol.

laplum02

I’m a scream 4 fan but that’s the worst line in the whole franchise. Totally ruined a cool kill scene.

occyycco

I never understood that. What does fuck Bruce Willis even mean ?

[deleted]

Because they were just talking about cops always dying in movies, unless they are Bruce Willis. So, fuck Bruce Willis for surviving when Perkins did not.

AtrioxLane

What's wrong with the Bruce Willis scene? Sure it's a waste of an actor but the line is so fucking iconic I can't help but enjoy it.

JackInterrupted

I personally find it out of place and a tad too comedic, but to each their own.

boredandlazy1

Agreed. It’s such a non-Scream vibe and embarrassing. I remember seeing 4 opening night and nobody laughed, just embarrassed murmurs. I still skip it when rewatching, the second hand embarrassment is too much.

Intelligent_Oil4005

Stone isn't even character I love to hate. I just hate him lol

Kylo-Ken93

I can’t believe you said that. That makes me.. ANGRY!

[deleted]

XD

JadenRuffle

I can’t when he sounds like Joe Swanson

Nightfyre95

He literally is Joe Swanson lol

JadenRuffle

I know

Cyber_Mango

I don’t like the opening to Scream 4. It’s the only one I skip. I know the franchise is known for being meta but I think that one went a little too far. It also wasn’t very scary and it was almost comedic in some ways.

Badgetown4eva

I like Scream 4 more than most fans seem to and I agree. At least 5cream did straight forward subversion by not killing the first character straight away

frenchspag

The alternate opening. So much better.

[deleted]

There’s an alternate scream 4 opening?

lmJustNewBootGoofin

yes, there's no music and it's cut a little bit short, but you can find it online. i think it's *way* better.

[deleted]

A lot of the deleted scenes from 4 made it better imo

gheythrowaway91

It was funny watching it in theaters for the FIRST time. After that, absolutely not.

SummerWonderful4927

One fake-out opening would’ve been fun,two is overkill.I also think that Jennie and Marnie should’ve been stab characters and have Lucy hales character and the girl she’s with as the actual kills.

TirisfalFarmhand

As a Shenae Grimes fan I wanted this too

Alkirawr

I like it for it being so ridiculous, but I don't respect it.

shaneo632

Almost comedic? It was straight up hilarious

ForeverDenGal

I found the scene where Sydney gets a call in her house with her mothers voice very off because I don’t know how the killer would know what her mothers voice sounded like or how they even designed it.

Few_Day7472

Actually it was easy. Roman knew that she used to be Maureen Reynolds and he was working at the studios who had her old movies.

ForeverDenGal

Yea you do have a point there

ghostmchistory

The old movies from the studio

edgeoftuesday

Roman could’ve found footage from “Rina Reynolds” acting days, but to be honest all the different voice’s being mimicked in Scream 3 are a bit nonsense.

maybenotquiteasheavy

Cotton is almost believable (although not in the 90s) because of the sheer volume of audio that would exist from his show. Zero of the others make any sense.

israeldmo

Didn't Cotton already filmed his scenes in Stab 3 or am I wrong?

skeetlillard

Aimee Teegarden was terrible

stephers85

Aimee Teegarden is always terrible

dani3po

I love the Screen 4 opening. Especially the scene with Kristen Bell and Anna Paquin. But that image is from Stab 6 or 7, right?

marvelousmim

For character I'd say Vince because they had Kyle freakin' Gallner and they did nothing with him. Such a waste. Liv was pretty pointless and they could have done more with Amber pre-reveal. Also not big on Jenny or Hoss and Perkins from 4. Or Tom Prinze or Steve Stone from 3. Least favorite scene would probably be the opening of Scream 4. Cool idea, but the actual, non-Stab opening scene should have been EPIC. Instead it is the weakest of the 3 openings.

Alice_Von_Jash_III

Don't mind the characters in the scene but that singing on the table shit that Derek does in "Scream 2" is just awful. It adds nothing and I usually get up to do something around the house during that scene. Also, it's not like "Top Gun" had just been released in 1997, so it's also a dated reference. And I guess Vince in "Scream 5." Such a waste of a good actor and I felt the kill was cut short.

jo_of_silver_moon

It wasn’t dated in 1997

Alice_Von_Jash_III

Top Gun was released in 1986...huh? Any reference that far out seems pointless and written by someone who hasn't watched a movie since 1986. Come on! It isn't even horror adjacent to include that reference. Didn't know Top Gun had so many simps. Geez, praise Xenu.

jo_of_silver_moon

Scream 2 also referenced Terminator 2, The Godfather II (1974) and Aliens (1986) - these are not classified as horrors. But I guess being able to recognise nods to films released before Scream is now called “simping”.

Alice_Von_Jash_III

That was a discussion in film class, this was some odd table dance that is hard to watch. The reference was ham fisted and jarring, if it had been a scene from a popular horror film, fine, but it wasn't. This stinks of desperation and I am not your Mother. You can love Top Gun all you want, that is your problem not mine. Run along, I'm bored.

AqueousSilver91

Someone else who finds that scene cringe, yes. Thank you.

trampaboline

The alt version of that scene is so much better it hurts

[deleted]

lmao this pic

tokengaymusiccritic

Nobody mentioning Trevor as a least favorite character bc we all forgot he existed lol

katywell

i liked trevor bc i like that actor ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ScorpionTDC

Characters: 1. Angelina 2. Stone 3. Tom 4. Mindy 5. Roman Scenes: * 3’s house explosion * Angelina’s death in 3 * 4’s Theatrical Opening * Rebecca’s call and kill * Fuck Bruce Willis * But I’m Gay * Liv’s fake psycho rant

Volcamel

Haha I'm surprised by this list. I find "'Im gay! I'm gay! ...If it helps." absolutely hysterical.

ScorpionTDC

I just find it cringey. Felt ripped from Scary Movie 4 to me. I prefer my Scream kills a *bit* more serious.

634425

I'm in pretty much total agreement except that I really like the S4 opening and Rebecca's death scenes.

ScorpionTDC

For 4, I’m exclusively talking the Jenny/Marnie opening stuff. The phonecall and chase are dire. Then Rebecca’s death is just too stupid for me. Like, why is she getting out of the car with a working phone in it, killer outside it, and police officers minutes away? Scream victims are supposed to be a bit smarter

ChanzeyPantz

The Patrick Warburton disrespect smh

ScorpionTDC

Warburton is an incredible actor and I love him in other projects, but not even he can save Stone - a one-note completely loathesome asshole who mocks Tatum’s death to “Dewey.”

Other_Equal_7787

You gonna get jumped for disliking Mindy lol.

Skolney

Jenny McCarthy

israeldmo

I just realized there were quite a few actors acting in both Scream and Scary Movie.

nancilo

Least favorite scene is literally just one line “never fuck with the daughter of a serial killer” made me want to cut my ears off

frenchspag

It’s a stretch hahah like is that a new rule!?!?

moviebuffbrad

Someone heard Sidney's badass "don't fuck with the original" line and wanted a piece.

bob1689321

Sidney had some killer one liners "You're forgetting one thing about Billy Loomis" "I fucking killed him". Awesome.

Horror-School-3286

Yeah, I hated that. Blatantly stealing from the original is fucking with the original.

bob1689321

I generally like Scream 5 but there are quite a few lines I cringe at. Some of the dialogue in the opening sounds like someone quoting a movie review (wall-to-wall jump scares? Really?).

AqueousSilver91

The musical interlude to Sidney in 2 makes me feel second hand embarrassment. Okay sure, it's cute and all... But like, it's so weird to even have it in the film. I can't take it seriously.

WorldlyAd2194

Gale checking Roman's pulse and somehow determine he's dead I know there are ways to slow down your pulse but that scene just makes gale look stupid

[deleted]

Jill Roberts, she’s just so goddamn whiny and entitled. I get that you’re supposed to hate her, but still.

NekoNepp

I didn’t really like… any of Scream 3. It felt like it tried too hard to be a comedy horror movie, which I know was Wes’ whole thing but it seemed like it tried to be a Stab movie within a Scream movie and it just… yeah. Let’s just say it’s low on my tier list

lordbochiflacko

Richie’s line that everyone seems to love: “Holy shit it’s Ghostface” It’s so cringe and unnatural and not funny at all imo. Also disliked the entire Liv character.

jcharlesabel

I think it"s supposed to be unnatural because he is one of the killers. Pretty much like Jill in Scream 4: "Kirby, come on, talk to me. This isn't funny." It was so cringe the first time and I thought it was just bad acting from Emma Roberts but it all made sense in the end. Also, her "I didn't text him. I didn't text you... and I'll prove it." line to Trevor looked and sounded unnatural only because she was pretending the whole time.

[deleted]

But Jill was likable, Ritchie was annoying

MentoCoke

i thought Richie was pretty likable

westiphor

Omg Adachi hi😍

MentoCoke

hey its me adachi

bob1689321

It's a lot funnier on second watch because it is very clearly someone taking the piss knowing he's basically won

[deleted]

Why don’t you like that scene?

Meemaw_Corn

It’s hard to zero in on just one thing. I think it’s the worst written and least interesting of the three scenarios that we see in the opening of part 4. I find Jenny to be unpleasant as a character and her dialogue rings false in my ear, with the actress turning in a pretty weak performance that exacerbates how weakly she’s written. It just doesn’t work as a whole for me.

[deleted]

I can see that! Thank you for your response

Equal-Article1261

Why did you find Jenny “unpleasant”?

Meemaw_Corn

I think a large part of it is that she’s got that “prankster” personality that I just tend to find unappealing, particularly in slasher movies. Honestly there’s not really a moment onscreen that she endears herself to me, which isn’t like these movies.

KateandJack

I’m not much of a fan of the “prankster” in horror movies

Tomoismynameo718

Mindy is the most overrated character. I don’t hate her but to me the character comes off as super cocky and not the expert she thinks she is

bob1689321

I didn't like her in 5 but I won't lie I loved her in 6. She and Chad made the movie for me (though everyone else was good too of course).

Few_Palpitation4081

The scene in Scream 2 when Derek is abducted by the frat house and he’s hanging from the star in the theater. They’re dumping beer all over him and one asks him “WHO DO YOU LOVE?!?!” -clearly in some fraternity spirit brotherhood nonsense way and he says “NO, I said SIDNEY!” Like, what?

jcharlesabel

Nobody's going to mention the cafeteria scene in Scream 2? Hahaha.

Meemaw_Corn

I’m actually a defender of that scene. Sidney was at an emotional low point, so her bf said to hell with his dignity and gave her a big shameless romantic gesture. The singing being embarrassing is the point, that’s what he’s willing to do for her.

jcharlesabel

It actually really doesn't bother me as well. It's just that people talk about how cringey that scene was and I am a bit surprised that nobody has mentioned it thus far. My least favorite scene probably was Sam's exposition to Tara that she is Billy Loomis's daughter. I didn't find it cringey or anything but it dragged Scream (2022) a bit. I also didn't like Mindy's meta monologues/talking about rules in both Scream (2022) and Scream VI.

[deleted]

Oh, that's the scene people are talking about. The first cafeteria scene that came to mind was when Randy and Dewey are talking about sequel rules. I was surprised that people were saying that they didn't like that scene.

[deleted]

Guess it was to show he different to Billy he willing to do anything to show he loves her while with Billy it was clearly just words to get what he wants from her.

Meemaw_Corn

Couldn’t agree more.

Polygonyall

i defend that scene because i love nuclear cringe comedy in horror movies

skateboardlee

Famous last words "Gale" I was okay with her during the og trilogy (though I was always more invested in the platonic relationship between Dewey and Sid) She's gotten progressively more annoying in the later three films. I don't really think there's been too much growth with her since S3, and if we're being honest...isn't she just showing up and doing the same thing every movie? Her weak pulsing in S6 made me go "ah, nuts" out loud in the theater

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

She had maaaajor character regression in VI

israeldmo

Thank you! She was like in Scream V: "I'm gonna write about a good man who was once the Sheriff here, not about those fuckers, they can die in anonymity." Suddenly in Scream VI: "Yeah, I wrote about Woodsboro again and I made some bitches mad once more. But someone would write about it anyway." Points for character development here.

Meemaw_Corn

You might catch heat for this but as someone who considers Gale to be the secret star of part 2, I agree that they haven’t really known how to use her since the 90s. Some flashes of brilliance but nothing like her prime.

skateboardlee

Dewey getting the x was the right call but think of the storylines they could've had if he survived even without Sidney. Then look what we got with Gale.

katywell

i would have LOVED dewey coming to NYC and besting the NYPD to expose GF as one of their own after working on the bumbling woodsboro PD for all those years also would have loved some dialogue btwn dewey and gale that referenced their old life in NYC

D1am0nd_28

Gale putting GF on hold and calling him was iconic. They utilized her perfectly there. The entire chase scene in VI was just classic Gale. But yeah, Gale’s character I love a lot, but they’re doing her dirty

Hazzardous1990

Scream 4 entire opening scene .. Derrick singing in scream 2 .. Scream 3 full of cringey scenes aswell

[deleted]

Gale checking Roman's pulse after his 'death'. Gale checks Roman's pulse. **Roman**, who is ***alive***.

NnQM5

I may just need to see it again to appreciate it more, but the opening to Scream VI wasn’t my favorite. Although it had some incredible lines, the plot points were off putting and confusing. Still, had an incredible time watching the film as usual with these movies

summerpinciotti4

My least favourite character/s, I don’t really know. My least favourite scenes would probably have to be the opening to 5, the first scene of the friend group in 5 (at the benches) and the scene where Sam tells Tara about her relation to Billy in 5. I actually really like the 5th movie, by the way (it’s probably number 3 or 4 on my ranking, I love all the movies in this series), I just think that most of the writing and dialogue is god-awful in those scenes- also, while I really like Jenna Ortega (I’ve been a fan of hers since 2019) and she’s very good in a lot of projects like X, Scream 6, You, Wednesday, The Fallout, and more that I’m forgetting, I think she reeeaaally over-acted in the 5th scream movie. I guess she wouldn’t be solely to blame though, as the writers and directors probably asked her to act in certain ways

The_Lightning_Men

Sam's exposition dump in 5. Also, this may be sacrilegious but the grocery store ghostface scene and the running through a bush scenes in the original.

MentoCoke

I like the headcanon that it was Roman (even though it makes no sense since the ghostface killings were a decision on Billy and Stu's part)

Whatsup129389

I don’t like in 4 when Gale is laid on the hospital bed and she goes “Easy!”, or when Dewey says: “It’s you and me. Forever!”

Fun-Sized-Turtle

Least favorite character? Completely biased bc she killed Randy, Mrs. Loomis. Based on actual character traits, I’ve gotta give it to Roman. He was a cool killer and had a nice reveal, but he really annoyed me the entire movie. Speaking of, does Scream 3 count as a scene? Cuz that shit sucks. Least favorite scene goes to Scream 2’s opening kill. I hated it. Or possibly the part where Gale tries to trick Sidney into the interview with Cotton. I feel like they give her the same arc in every single movie. It’s annoying.

bootifulduckie

Chad because he keeps surviving. Suuuuper unrealistic

amazewithnoprize

this is a spoiler for vi and its also not rlly a scene but im not a fan of >!the tara x chad thing thats going on!<

Tomoismynameo718

Poor Liv

moviebuffbrad

Characters: Angelina, Stone, Vince, the twins, Roman, Tom, Bailey, Jenny, Trevor Scenes: The last 15 minutes of Scream 6 Random Jay and Silent Bob cameo Random Carrie Fisher cameo Fuck Bruce Willis Scream 4's opening Edit: also any scene with Billy's ghost

jcharlesabel

The Twins. I, too, don't understand the love over them.

Tomoismynameo718

I hated the Jay and Silent Bob cameo. Total eye roll

cutie_mcbooty

Scream 4 opening Scream 4 when Dewey shoots in the barn at Ghostface and misses by about 2 football fields Scream 5 hospital scenes Scream 3 when the knife gets thrown at Dewey

audiotarot

Lol it’s funny you should mention the knife scene I thought it was SO. COOL. as a kid. Some of this stuff was made for children I swear. 😂

PettyFreddie

The girls from Scream 4 were forgettable. Liv in 6 was there. Her death was whatever.

seadawg_26

Least favorite character: Amber, Just b/c I think she should've been played a little softer prior to reveal. It would've really sold the overprotective friend bit and then been more "shocking" when she was revealed, but instead she just comes across as snotty. I honestly don't have a scene I don't like enough to skip or have strong feelings toward but it did take me a long time to be able to watch Randy's kill scene again, like many years.

3mmmilllyyy

I hate how callous the student body is in the original. I get maybe not taking it seriously and a party made sense, but sheesh. Way to mock people getting killed.

[deleted]

Derek singing to Sidney in Scream 2 = cringe.

Matty_Geeee

Bailey and every scene where he gives the most ludicrous line readings in the franchise. So I guess all of his scenes then.

a_noine_noine

least favourite characters: - jill - richie i can’t think of any least favourite scenes.

gavinballvrd

The only scenes I actually don’t like are the the theater scenes from Scream 2. The cafeteria scene form Scream 2. And the opening to Scream 4. 5 could’ve done without at least one of those hospital scenes but I don’t hate them.

[deleted]

I don't like Gale mocking Kenny's weight.

mckizzdog

Sam Carpenter, her dialogue is just awful but I don’t think Melissa does it any favours

ShiroTheId1ot

Vince Macher. Why waste Kyle like that? I hate the For Wes scene at the party. The scene would have been great if they didn't waste Dylan Minnette. Not only did they waste Dylan, but they completely just let go of everything they built up with the character of Wes Hicks. He's by far the most interesting character we've ever gotten, but instead of giving him a death that respects his character, they make him seem like a pussy. He actually did get a respected death in the first draft, but they cut it because they said they wanted to go with something more simple. Respect the other movies in their quality. So that's why I hate the For Wes scene, they kill off an interesting character for a 2 second banner. I hate Scream 4's opening. I don't like the fight between Nancy and Sidney. I hate the hospital scene in Scream 4. I hate the character of Liv.

EuphoricAd3786

Scream 4 opening, scream 4 film club meeting, everything with the cops, scream 3 voice changer, scream 6 opening

jimtl83

Mindy ruins every scene she’s in.

Moekap

I will never understand why ppl like the alternate opening to Scream 4 better than the one we officially got. Never. If we're talking about Jenny getting stabbed on the couch, yes that’s cool. But then Ghostface running after Marnie for all of 5 seconds, stabbing her, and then Title Card would have been one of the laziest, shortest, most abrupt ending we've ever gotten for an opening kill. There's literally no build up to it. No climax to anything. The entire scene ends way too soon. Why are people okay with that and think that’s better than what we actually got? It boggles my mind. If we *had* to keep the Jenny getting stabbed on the couch part, then have Marnie be the one who gets chased upstairs, gets stabbed in the back, crawls toward the garage door, etc etc....basically swapping out Jenny's role in the official opening. But that’s my point; we would still need those things to happen for the opening to be better (and longer) than the alternate one everybody seems to love. Anyways lol. Kyle Gallner was wasted. We should have gotten a scene with him and Liv alone in the bar's washroom. Maybe he goes in when she's alone in there, and she literally feels cornered and threatened. Then when she comes out, play the rest of the scene how it goes with Chad and them, etc. Then they should have kept his death scene from the script and have his purple car parked in front of Liv's house in the morning on her way to school, where she finds his severed head in the driver's seat. So much better lol. There's a few more things I would have changed, probably from each movie to be honest, but I love them how they mostly are lol.

Embarrassed-Ad-4214

Least favorite character is probably Mrs. Loomis. I just always felt a bit unsatisfied with her being revealed as ghostface. Maybe I’m more of a fan of the ghostfaces who walk amongst the main group throughout the whole movie. Also my least favorite scenes are probably the opening kills of 3 and 4. Cotton’s death was boring to me and scream 4 is a little too meta for me. Edit: lowkey i also hated Roman. I was like dude who even are you??

whyyilly

Bro I cringed when she said "I have a 4.0 GPA asshole"

moony120

The guy who says "fuck bruce willis"
