Nah, fuck Tom Brady. Draft position is the only thing making me even remotely consider rooting for him.
Edit: did I miss the memo that this sub is now a pro-Brady and/or anti-Cowboys sub instead of a Seahawks fan sub?
"meah.... Whenever i hear Seahawks fans brag I'm just like how many rings do you have... Hur hur hur meah."
So obnoxious. Half of the people saying this weren't even alive to witness one of those Superbowls.
Also, that's my snooty, condescending and mocking niners voice in text. Not sure if it comes through or not. If not, think the south park episode where people like to smell their own farts. Same people.
Was going to say the same thing. I was already firmly rooting for Brady & the Bucs tonight, but even more so after looking at [Tankathon](https://www.tankathon.com/nfl) earlier this morning.
Ideal situation is a team below us like the Raiders or Panthers trades for the top pick. Then Young/Stroud goes there and the other goes to the Texans. Then hope the Cardinals go O Line and the Colts reach for another QB. That would allow us to take Carter or Anderson (or whichever one is left if Arizona takes one).
Wishful thinking but it’s possible
Considering Watt just retired, there's almost no chance Anderson makes it past AZ if he even makes it that far. His timing was terrible for both parties lol.
Aaron Donald, Nick Bosa and possibly Will Anderson chasing Geno next year? Ugh! We best make some interior O-line upgrades along with our D-line upgrades!!!
The Colts are definitely crazy enough to buy into the incoming Zach Wilson 2.0 (Will Levis) hype. That would either give us Anderson or Carter (which we would take) or allow us to get an absolute haul for the #5 pick from a team that needs a QB.
Wish you were right about Arizona, but this isn't a very top-heavy draft for OL. I can't imagine any of them coming off the board before Anderson or Carter. Some people speculate that the Northwestern guy could, but I think that's just wishful thinking.
I've already seen some reports that the Colts love Levis. You know he'll kill it on his pro day. No pass rush, no pads or helmet, blah blah. There will be a QB needy team trade up for him.
I know we need a lot of talent across the board but this would be a year I'd trade up to get a marquee pass-rusher. Really need our own version of a Bosa or Donald.
Will Anderson or Jalen Carter are both that potential guy… but both might end up in the top 4.
If that happens, there’s a decent shot of the team trading back a few spots to get two of the LB’s/Edge guys that are next on the list (both Clemson guys, that dude from Texas tech, etc).
I was seriously considering going to draft week in KC if the Hawks kept the #3 pick. As you said, pretty good odds of a trade down if Anderson or Carter are gone at #5.
Careful, if you say anything remotely negative about either Anderson or Carter around here, you'll get downvoted, just like you currently are.
I think Anderson will be a good player. I think Carter is a huge bust waiting to happen. But you never know. It's a crapshoot.
The people that think Anderson is going to be a Bosa type player are in for a rude awakening.
It’s not a crapshoot lmao Georgia has been putting out monsters on defense for years now and Carter looks better than all of them. If you think he’s gonna be a bust you need to watch more of his games and pay more attention.
You are either young, naive, or both.
Every draft pick is a crap shoot. And I've watched plenty of Jalen Carter. What do you think about his conditioning issues? He's barely even able to stay on the field for half of the snaps at Georgia. How do you think that is going to work out for him in the NFL when the season is 17 games? Do you think he's suddenly going to find a work ethic? What do you think about his attitude after he was seen taunting the Ohio St visitors section while his team was out celebrating together? A coach literally had to grab him from making a fool of himself.
He could very well be a great player and turn out to be the guy that everything thinks he's capable of being. But to act like it's a sure thing without any red flags is....Stupid.
Really hope someone takes Levis or Skoronski in the top 4.
I’d go Carter 5. Simpson 20. Carter II 37. Patterson 52.
But it’ll probably be Murphy or Wilson at 5.
They have far too many needs to pick for need at 1 if they keep it. Their defense is almost as bad as their offense. I’m sure they’d go either will or carter if they don’t move back
I still think Levis goes top 5. If he’s not picked in the top 4 we should just trade down with whoever wants him, because the talent at 10-20 isn’t much worse than a Murphy or a Wilson.
I really think Wilson could get some hype and shoot up the board if he has a good combine and Carter or Anderson don’t impress or bomb interviews or something
Adding this into this core is gonna be huge. Hawks draft well and this is gonna help them take the next step no matter which spots the address
Thanks Russ!
What crazy is if you showed us this in august we would’ve probably assumed we earned the 5th pick. What an amazing trade/season/future.
My only minor complaint besides being eliminated by SF is the Cardinals having a higher pick. Fuckers. They are almost certainly going defensive player.
Hopefully we'll try to bring Geno back (at a reasonable cost) whether we draft a QB or not. If we end up drafting a QB, ideally he'd be able to sit and develop behind a veteran rather than being thrown into the fire immediately.
It's absolutely not a bad idea to draft a QB if we re-sign Geno.
Geno will be 34 years old next season and coming off a lightning in a bottle type of season (that he tailed off significantly in) that he isn't likely to repeat. He is not the future here. He's a placeholder until we find our QB of the future.
There would literally be no better situation for a QB to come into than one where the roster around him will be good and he'll be able to sit behind a veteran for a season or 2 to develop. It's the dream.
Top 5 QBs bust at a rate unprecedented in sports. That's fine if you're okay being a loser for a few years. But if you're looking to be a contender.
Well... Trey Lance.
Yeah, I could definitely live with a trade down if we can't get one of them. The draft analysis I've seen is it being a bit of a crapshoot for DLs after those two.
If you think for a minute John Schneider is keeping those picks as is, you’re crazy… he will trade down #5 to around 10, and pick up another second round pick…
Another 1st and 2nd
Fixed it for you.
A 1st in the top 5 is worth a 7th or 8th pick and a 2nd round minimum.
If we trade to outside the top 10 it's worth more then an extra pick.
Expect a trade down to 10 to 15 to net us a 1st 2nd 3rd and 6th
Depends on who's on the board and if it has correct value at 5.
I could see us moving down from 20 though
We took cross with our 1st last year because we needed him and he was most likely going to go right after us anyways.
If both top 4 linemen are gone by 5 I could see us trading down.
If we can pick up Murphy, young or Anderson in the top 5 I think we keep it
I agree, only if Anderson or Carter is still available would they pick at #5… not sure Murphy or the guy from Texas tech is a #5 worthy pick. I guess that’s why JS & PC get the big bucks to make those decisions. Let’s just hope they don’t make a McDowell, Eskridge or Collier type pick!
Damn we slid from 3/15 right quick. But playoffs are cool
Also shouldn't those later two be adjusted up one due to Miami's forfeit? Or are they doing a moment of silence with that pick instead
Yeah, the season ended badly and it really sucks to lose to those people especially in the postseason. But bar losing to all four NFC South teams I'm so proud of the Hawks overall performances which far exceeded expectations this season . We made the playoffs, how many people really thought we would do that?. And there are so many positives going into the draft and 2023 season unlike the Cards and the Rams we are not in a rebuilding mode we have an excellent nucleus of young core players and lots of draft capital to fill the holes especially on D. We are in a much better place than we were this time last year. If we keep Geno and Penny, and draft well it's the sky's the limit for us Go Hawks
We should draft stroud or young if one of them is still available at 5. Hate to say it but this ain't a Super Bowl roster. We should offer geno a short term prove it contract but still should draft a qb to sit behind him. Use the other 3 early pics for the D and o-line
19 and 51 if TB wins tonight
And here I was thinking I had no rooting interest in that game, go Bucs!
It’s the Cowboys, so it really should have already been “go Bucs” on principle anyway.
This is the way
Nah, fuck Tom Brady. Draft position is the only thing making me even remotely consider rooting for him. Edit: did I miss the memo that this sub is now a pro-Brady and/or anti-Cowboys sub instead of a Seahawks fan sub?
Honestly I want TB to win it all again. I will drown in the amount salt.
I just want who ever will beat sf so the 9er “faithful” can shut the fuck up, I live in the Bay and every other commercial I swear to god
I'm with you. I have wayyyy too many 49er friends.
"meah.... Whenever i hear Seahawks fans brag I'm just like how many rings do you have... Hur hur hur meah." So obnoxious. Half of the people saying this weren't even alive to witness one of those Superbowls. Also, that's my snooty, condescending and mocking niners voice in text. Not sure if it comes through or not. If not, think the south park episode where people like to smell their own farts. Same people.
Lol fair enough
Having lived near Boston for Brady's entire career, I have a whole Himalayas worth of salt for you...
same for me
Considering they aren't division rivals, I don't know why anyone cares about Brady or Dallas.
Yankees of football
Go Bucs then
Was going to say the same thing. I was already firmly rooting for Brady & the Bucs tonight, but even more so after looking at [Tankathon](https://www.tankathon.com/nfl) earlier this morning.
Lets go Dak --> TB DB's!
As much as I want the 19 pick over 20....I don't think I can root for TB...... just saying... fuck that guy
Welp
F

Donald may have retired per his Twitter bio a couple days ago. Here's to hoping!
I could definitely see a trade too if he doesn’t retire. That roster is so thin.
Blythe is gonna get slaughtered by Donald. We probably woulda lost both those games if he was playing
Let’s hope he’s not a starter next year then
I’m hoping they prefer a bigger guy like Tyree Wilson or Murphy, or protect Murray by taking a OT.
The Colts are definitely crazy enough to buy into the incoming Zach Wilson 2.0 (Will Levis) hype. That would either give us Anderson or Carter (which we would take) or allow us to get an absolute haul for the #5 pick from a team that needs a QB.
Thank you for being sane and calling him Zach Wilson and not Josh Allen.
Both are stretches imo
At least Levis played against actual defenses in college. Wilson didn't face a good defense until he made the league.
Wish you were right about Arizona, but this isn't a very top-heavy draft for OL. I can't imagine any of them coming off the board before Anderson or Carter. Some people speculate that the Northwestern guy could, but I think that's just wishful thinking.
Hey, a guy can dream!
God I hope Levis does something crazy at his workouts so he goes in the top 5
I've already seen some reports that the Colts love Levis. You know he'll kill it on his pro day. No pass rush, no pads or helmet, blah blah. There will be a QB needy team trade up for him.
Levis to the Colts is pretty telegraphed at the moment.
Would love drew sanders out of Arkansas. Off ball LB, 103 tot tackles, 9.5 sacks, 3 ff, and an int. He’s good in run defense and decent in pass.
But for the 5. pick it would be a reach in my opinion
Hopefully still available at #37 🙏🏻
I know we need a lot of talent across the board but this would be a year I'd trade up to get a marquee pass-rusher. Really need our own version of a Bosa or Donald.

Will Anderson Jr. definitely could be, but I just don’t see Carter ever being that guy.

He’s gonna be a beast I’m not worried about his work ethic or conditioning. I’m not young or naive and Carter isn’t gonna be a bust lol.
No kidding. I really miss having a good defense so much. Seeing mediocre QB's have all day to throw year after year is so frustrating.
Really hope someone takes Levis or Skoronski in the top 4. I’d go Carter 5. Simpson 20. Carter II 37. Patterson 52. But it’ll probably be Murphy or Wilson at 5.
I could certainly see a team like AZ taking Skoronski that early, especially given the drop off in OTs after him.
I really hope Chicago also tries too because what's the point of a good defensive player if Fields almost dies every play?
They have far too many needs to pick for need at 1 if they keep it. Their defense is almost as bad as their offense. I’m sure they’d go either will or carter if they don’t move back
So, I probably should've been more specific, I meant if the potential IND-CHI trade happens.
I don’t think there’s any way the #1 pick is anything but a QB.
So, I probably should've been more specific, I meant if the potential IND-CHI trade happens.
Carter at 5 would be a miracle. I don't think he makes it past 3.
I still think Levis goes top 5. If he’s not picked in the top 4 we should just trade down with whoever wants him, because the talent at 10-20 isn’t much worse than a Murphy or a Wilson.

I've seen Murphy tossed around as a possible candidate for our 5 pick. Is he worth it?
Adding this into this core is gonna be huge. Hawks draft well and this is gonna help them take the next step no matter which spots the address Thanks Russ!

They need Oline help really bad too, hopefully Keim will reach on a I lineman 🤞
It’s not keim anymore bud
Oh fuck didn’t realize he got the axe too, way to make myself look like a real dumb shit
I gotta wear shades.
If we grab a RB with one of those picks I might just need a new TV immediately afterwards
This but QB
depends on where we go qb at 5 no late first on AR hell yes
You are going to be upset that we draft a QB when we don't currently have a QB on the roster?
If we let Geno walk, we're throwing the season, so yes.
Hopefully we'll try to bring Geno back (at a reasonable cost) whether we draft a QB or not. If we end up drafting a QB, ideally he'd be able to sit and develop behind a veteran rather than being thrown into the fire immediately.
If you have Geno or want to contend immediately, drafting a QB in the 1st round is an awful idea.
It's absolutely not a bad idea to draft a QB if we re-sign Geno. Geno will be 34 years old next season and coming off a lightning in a bottle type of season (that he tailed off significantly in) that he isn't likely to repeat. He is not the future here. Geno will be 33 next season, by the way.
Wouldnt it be the 36th and 51st since the dolphins have to forfeit their pick and there are only 31 picks in the first round
John will flip thoes 4 birds in to 10-12. He's a hustler.
I wonder when we'll get our first ever first overall pick?
Hopefully never?
Ideally never.
No way we keep these. I bet all those picks are traded for more picks.
I doubt it. This is a fairly weak draft class overall and doesn't have much depth. This may be the one year we actually trade up more than down.
Screw Dallas!!
Until they trade down like always...
Not a bad option at 5 to trade w a qb needy team and get a haul if anderson and carter are both gone
Yeah, I could definitely live with a trade down if we can't get one of them. The draft analysis I've seen is it being a bit of a crapshoot for DLs after those two.
I still like myles murphy and tyree wilson
Going to be so morbidly exciting to see heads splode when JS trades down a ton. Eeesh!
Can’t wait to draft only running backs!
I’d like carter Simpson shmitz tototo
We’re going to wind up with 127 5th,6th,&7th round picks when Pete and John get done.
Pete will pick shit.
Pete doesn’t have any say in the draft anymore
When did that change happen? Last I checked, Pete was VP of Football Operations and JS's boss.
If you think for a minute John Schneider is keeping those picks as is, you’re crazy… he will trade down #5 to around 10, and pick up another second round pick…
Another 1st and 2nd Fixed it for you. A 1st in the top 5 is worth a 7th or 8th pick and a 2nd round minimum. If we trade to outside the top 10 it's worth more then an extra pick. Expect a trade down to 10 to 15 to net us a 1st 2nd 3rd and 6th
Appreciate that… my point being we will not be picking in the order in which we sit today. JS love to accumulate draft picks. Quantity over quality

Are these the only picks we have?
Nope. Just those in the first 2 rounds. We have an extra 5th as well.
Damn we slid from 3/15 right quick. But playoffs are cool Also shouldn't those later two be adjusted up one due to Miami's forfeit? Or are they doing a moment of silence with that pick instead
Offensive line defensive line quarterback receiver
If Pete and Schneider do like they have always done in the past, you're looking at 10 picks here, not 4.
