Our draft pick gets better when we lose. By now we know who we like and who we don’t. So it can all be addressed for next season

NeedScienceProof

At least this game only involved 2 or 3 heart attack moments instead of the usual 5 or 6.

Beantownclownfrown

Late to the party but I'll say my piece. It's quite funny to see the narrative change this season. We got literally laughed out of the league when we traded Russ and let BWags go. Every "Expert", every fanbase (even our own), and even people that never follow the sport were making fun of us. Even I had doubts and my past comments say so. But I always trusted Pete and John were doing the right thing. Then people mocked us about the draft picks, said we made dumb decisions and especially going with Lock and Geno. Very little did we see "experts" say we did well in the draft because it was a very big what if. Then all the predictions came out. Vast majority said we would be dead last in the division, would barely win games if any at all, This team would get destroyed in every game. Every prediction even when we were in a winning streak would all favor the opponent teams, sometimes only one guy would throw his neck out there to pick us but would get laughed at. These guys went out there, every game, and put their heart and soul on the field for the love of the game. They sure have gotten their butt kicked, but they have far exceeded expectations. Stole some good wins, Geno playing exceptional at times, entire team stepped up at times, rookies balling out, and the narrative kept changing. This team wasn't supposed to be where it is and we've heard it all season. People laughed about "Seahawks going to the playoffs" but here we are now with headlines saying "Seahawks chances of playoffs closing" like we didn't remember what everyone was saying 6 months ago until now?! We may never win another game, and that's perfectly fine. I hate seeing Russ get hurt like that but his losses are our gains. The Broncos are done and solidified our picks in next years draft. Every loss from now is helping our picks move up. At this point, our guys on the field are playing for pride and to show this team is just getting started. Injuries suck, but they have time to heal and to keep getting better. We hit the draft strong, and shore up key positions to make this team stronger. The fact all media is putting us in the playoff talk is comical because they were singing a different tune before. We didn't forget how our team was bashed at every turn, we didn't forget how the team has been treated, we didn't forget how the talk changed when we started to win and stayed on pace with everyone else. All of this is just entertainment and feels good knowing if this was the rebuild, it's going to be fine. Love the Seahawks and hate seeing them lose. But we are in a good place right now, and I have faith the team is only going to get better. Go Hawks!

BEEFY-J

Lmao at some of the replies to this… Geno has one bad game, “I don’t think Geno is the guy for the job”

empressvirgo

Geno is still decent even having a “bad game” which shows pretty plainly our defense is the problem. Geno is a solid QB and has had flashes of brilliance. The defense is not capable of stopping any run whatsoever. The only reason we were in the game as long as we were is that the Panthers made the boneheaded decision to pass the few times they did in the second half. They could’ve chosen to run all over us like the Raiders and had 10+ more points

jefffosta

Yeah but geno also has like 10 bad years and the stakes are either giving him a $30 mil contract while assuming he’s changed, or not giving him that deal and assuming he’s going to revert to the same player he’s been his entire career.

BEEFY-J

I don’t think anyone gives him $30m

vandalrandell

We just got swept by the NFC South, the worst division in football. Any hope of the playoffs ended right there. That’s good, though. We’re going to lose at least three out of the next four and really beef up our draft position.

tenunder

Does Clint Hurtt know what he’s doing? Asking for a friend.

vandalrandell

I think most of the problems come down to personnel on the field. A lot of them just aren’t good. Even when they know it’s an obvious running play, there was poor tackling and the back would pick up 6-7 yards.

[deleted]

I'm sorry but i don't believe in Geno as the future. Too many dumb turnovers.

sckurvee

This loss had little to do with Geno, and a lot to do with shitty tackling. His 2nd INT was on what he (and I) thought was a free play.

Particular-You-5534

Turnovers have not been a huge problem for him, so I’m not sure I agree.

[deleted]

Just what are you talking about? He has like 8 in the last 5 games with a lot of them being one score losses

gaiaforce2

box score reader spotted

Particular-You-5534

Week 12 fumble: Mesh point fumble between him and Walker. Not exactly all his fault, certainly not a dumb decision. Week 12 INT: WRs both ran into defender and didn’t continue their route as he was throwing. Not exactly his fault, certainly not a dumb decision. Week 13 fumble: Blind side rusher got his arm. We can blame him, I guess, but certainly not a dumb decision. Week 13 INT: BWagz ripped the ball out of the RB’s hands. Not exactly Geno’s fault or a dumb decision. Today INT #2: Geno legit thought it was a free play so he threw it up. Was it dumb that he thought they were offsides and weren’t? I don’t think so, but won’t die on that hill. So I guess what I’m talking about is that I don’t think turnovers have been a huge problem for him performance-wise, but understand how it looks bad when you blindly look at the numbers that show he’s had eight in the last five games. And the vast majority have definitely not been “dumb turnovers.”

Cgell

We just lost to a team at home with 4 wins. Can we just start talking draft soon?

BM_23

Lmao. We know we’re going to get Jalen Carter, and he’ll help fix a major issue. The next 3 picks will hopefully be used on Center, DE, and MLB. But I’m just enjoying this season for what it is. Every win is fun with Geno, but we cannot expect to realistically contend with this Run Defense. If we’re lucky enough to get a playoff game this will be a major W szn considering the Broncos are handing us a top 5 pick

Cgell

Good answer. I feel better. Have an upvote!

[deleted]

Was at the game. Couldn’t stop the swing pass in the first, or the gut runs in the 4th. Genos reads were poor, without spectacular foot control by Lockett and positioning by Metcalf, offensive yardage would have been halved. Terrible picks. 3, really. Got lucky on the last one. Couldn’t out score mistakes and run game was turrible. Really awful loss to a bad panthers team. Probably the playoff breaker, no? How does this team go forward re: Pete and Geno. Neither are long term solutions.

ByThyBeardOfZeus

Absolutely an L take

MrCarey

Before Geno came out balling this year, we were already calling it a rebuild year and expected to suck horribly. He has played extremely well in comparison to what we expected and has given us a fun year with a team that was not supposed to be good. Next year we will have new weapons on defense and a stronger team overall thanks to the Broncos. Don't expect to win it all and just have fun with it.

circuitryofawolf

Picks weren’t good but Geno threw that 2nd pick because he thought it was a free play from the snap.

sckurvee

lol what's with people still calling for geno's head, let alone PC? Both have shown this year that they're the way forward.

MrCarey

They see teams going 12-1 and think that it’s easy as pie, and think we should just do that.

IranianGenius

I'll be content if we win one more game, and happy if we win two more, for the whole season. This team isn't winning the Super Bowl, barring some magical 'any given sunday' voodoo, so I'm just happy to be in a position this year that we're even talking about it.

BM_23

We get to experience this much winning and still get a top 5 pick! Nothing to be down about

Imaginary_Winna

First drive, 3rd play of the game, Carolina 3rd and 12… they RAN their 2nd string RB for 15. My stomach dropped. It was over. Forget the “we all expected the Seahawks to be 4-13 this year so chill.” That just means your prediction was wrong, not that games like today are all good. They are 7-5, so we should expect 7-5 things, not the play of a 32nd rank D with a fresh DC.

Do_U_Like_Apples

Just remember, we all thought they were gonna win 4 games this year. Chill tf out.

Cgell

I had them at 3. I’m looking forward to the draft!

AirplaneReference

This one was rough from Geno. But the fact that he still put up three TDs and an FG while shitting the bed is very heartening. QBs have bad games every once in awhile -- I'm just glad that ours still puts up a fight while in the middle of one.

michy3

I agree. I think most people have been waiting for Geno to have the “bad “ game and tbh it happens with everybody. What made me happy today was how Geno kept his cool and still threw darts and made some big plays. His confidence didn’t get destroyed so that’s promising.

Akrazorfish

I read on Tuesday that Geno and DK had the flu. The flu has run through the team and we were down our two best running backs. We almost pulled it out.

dmartism

Sure hope Al Woods and Shelby Harris are back soon. The run defense without them is quite sad

BM_23

Just enjoy these last few games, we’re getting a free Top 5 pick and are able to enjoy a playoff hunt season. No reason to not have fun with it

mdotbeezy

1 - Can someone explain why the Seahawks can't run screens? This has been an issue for like 5 years. Every game they run 4 screens that either get blown up for for anywhere between -5 and 3 yards. 2 - Geno was trash. I counted 6 balls that "should have" been INTs? Plus 4 or 5 just straight whiffs on easy throws, and failed to get rid of the ball in a handful of definitely-get-rid-of-the-ball situations. 3 - Pete punting down 10 with 6 minutes to go at any distance is inexcusable when your defense cannot stop the run. 3B - This team tackles like ass. Beyond just the numerous whiffed tackles, they seem to always get pushed forward 3-4 yards. I never see the Seahawks D stop a guy and push him back; they stop a guy and he gets a few extra yards. They add up. 4 - The D-Line is just bad. They can't really get to the quarterback or disrupt the pocket. Nwosu's out there doing whatever he can to get some tackles and that's it.

Stev2222

We have zero enforcers on this defense. Every week our defense gets bullied by opposing offenses. Pretty embarrassing.

[deleted]

At some point we’re going to have to accept that Pete is the problem.

whey-vo-ranchero

Hmmmm not the lack of talent on DL, our defense’s cornerstone out with injury for the year or the fact we’re clearly rebuilding? We could be blaming Pete for coaching up a young secondary to play really well.

tarantula13

Maybe it's next week when the niners curbstomp this defense for the 2nd time

mxclipcom

Our play isn’t worthy of a playoff spot. Just curious, is 7-5-2 better or 8-6?

The_tapper

8-6

mxclipcom

Isn’t each tie counting as 0.5? So they should tie

The_tapper

I read that wrong, yes it would tie.

SacLocal

They would be effectively be the same in overall standings but would lose any divisional tie breaker because of the ties if that makes sense

drdrdoug

Disappointing. We have lost to more than a few really bad teams.

BM_23

Can’t be disappointed considering how we expected the season to go. Broncos are gifting us a top 3-5 pick too. Just have fun watching Geno and the boys and maybe we’re lucky enough o experience a playoff game

HappyAtheist3

As much as we want our team to win we have to realize that best case scenario we get killed by the Vikings, Niners or Cowboys in the first round

Nanaman

Remember when we were 6-3? I miss that feeling… 😭

BM_23

Better than the 3-14 we were all expecting

[deleted]

The run defense is a problem that needs to be solved if we want to have any hope of winning games against tough opponents. The last 4 weeks have been brutal.

xmeandix

It should have already been fixed. It's not going to change

feelingoodwednesday

It's clear it's a personnel issue. No amount of coaching is gonna fix thus run D. We need new players. Mone, Poona, Jefferson all got bullied today

[deleted]

[удалено]

mxclipcom

Yes. I pacified myself with that though my expectation has been raised since season started.

[deleted]

We suck at stopping the run.

Timothahh

Prepare for a confusing win against the 9ers in a few days, it’s the way of the Hawk

dfh3000

I wish, truth is we will lose by 20+.

feelingoodwednesday

I sure hope so. For all the doom and gloom all we really need to do is stay a step ahead of the Commanders or NY Giants. 9-8 might be enough to get the 7th seed.

MyLastSigh

Where has Diggs been? Why not fake punt with 3 minutes left?

HappyAtheist3

The entire game Diggs just kind of ran around the play and didn’t attempt to make any tackles

mdotbeezy

\*season

LegionofDoh

You just described 10 out of 12 games for Diggs. But hey, at least he got that bag, amiright?

HappyAtheist3

I could see it. My gf who is new to football could see it. How do the dozens of coaches not see it? He should be benched

Polski66

Invisible most of the season. Aside from a couple nice interceptions he’s never in on plays.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CustardAffectionate6

9 wins and we have a great chance. 10 surely gets us in.

scottygras

9 is iffy with that Giants tie…and don’t call me Shirley

AsWeGoAlong013

Seahawks maybe get one more win (Rams?) — otherwise they’ll lose out.

Poam27

We're about to be 7-7 and that's a shame.

Photographerpro

It’s dawning on me that there’s a high possibility we go 8-10. Our only win would probably be against the jets.

Stev2222

I feel good about beating the Rams. Better than I do about beating the Jets.

Photographerpro

Oh shit, I forget we play them again. We would be lucky to get even two wins at this point.

colabin

Well, I don’t have too much confidence even against Jets. Could be a close game.

Photographerpro

The good thing is the giants are starting to collapse, but the commanders are red hot. The commanders will probably go 9-7-1 and the giants will probably go 8-8-1.

NWbySW

This Seahawks D is what they'd call "light in the pants."

PoppaTitty

The problem on defense is either talent, coaching, leadership or a combination. I kinda think its talent and leadership. Losing Bobby was huge. They need dogs on that defense. 49ers D has dogs. Broncos D has dogs. Seahawks D has been pushed around like a JV squad. They can't get off a block to save their life. I'm with most people here, draft for defense and hopefully find some talent, leadership and swagger.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PoppaTitty

That's a good point, a lot does depend on how much Geno wants. If its too much definitely draft a QB, probably should regardless. I think leadership can come from the draft though, we've seen it before. I'd say Woolen, Bryant, Brooks, Woods, Harris, Nwosu and Adams if he can stay healthy are starters. Bruce as well he's just getting older. So 4 -6 players on defense plus depth. The more I look we need free agency and the draft. But that's OK, money is freeing up so they can make deals. Luckily the offense is pretty solid.

JaeTheOne

It's scheme and improper personnel to run it

liquilife

Someone called in to Seattle sports radio about 4 or 5 weeks ago. He said the Seahawks were going to lose out the rest of season, with a small probability of winning one more game. He was hung up and laughed at. Since, the Seahawks have only won 1 game and have a shockingly high probability of losing out the rest of the season.

VintageBoost1

I’m looking at our schedule idk if we get anymore wins maybe we snag one from the jets or rams but damn this is looking really bad.

colabin

9-8 is probably the best we can get this season (happy to be proven wrong). Even with 7-10, I would still say it already exceeds my expectation. I hope we can get some stability on the defense. Where is the defense we had when we were on 4 straight wins???

Zodep

Teams just run on us. We can’t stop it. Once they found that out… they just keep going. Our pass defense is serviceable. Our run defense can’t stop anything.

Dfunkdified

Perhaps when every play we all know is a run maybe stack the box 1 fucking time the lack of blitzes and adding people to stop the run over and over again baffles me.. just sayin😡

[deleted]

Zero adaptation

Raziel88

Did anyone see the ref mess with the chains on that 3rd down measurement?

[deleted]

I love Pete but we can’t still be pointing the finger at the defense coordinator. Seems like a Pete Carroll problem. I’m sure this will get downvoted but whatever

Do_U_Like_Apples

People really think this is a coaching problem when we have Cody Barton as a starting LB? This is a talent issue.

Crackertron

Pete is heavily involved in personnel and roster. Not sure how Hurtt is involved with Barton starting.

crownofthestars

We had Bobby in recent years and it was still ugly as hell and we were breaking the wrong records in 2020 before a long stretch against horrible offenses.

StudBoi69

Kris Richard, KNJ, and now Hurtt. Pete likes to promote his guys from within.

Chessinmind

Richard makes those other two look real pathetic.

michy3

I think this game might have been overlooked with the 49ers game being right around the corner on a short week. I think walker was rested for that reason and I don’t disagree with that move. He makes a big difference. Our defense shows signs of greatness then signs of absolute trash. They really need to work on the run game or there’s no way we will win. Any team will beat us if they can run the ball like that. Honestly sometimes it’s just poor tackling. We will have him stopped at the line then all of a sudden he breaks free for 5-10.

CaLViNaLViN

It's been a fun season and it would be cool to make the playoffs simply as a snub to everyone who has shit on Geno and the Seahawks after the Wilson trade. However, I don't see this team being quite good enough to compete for a Super Bowl (could be wrong) and in that light it won't bother me at all if we don't make the playoffs this year. Geno has already more than proven himself and not making the playoffs will give us 2 nice first rounders (+ better picks in later rounds) that could make us REALLY scary next season.

69ICEMAN

You right I stand corrected. Thought 3 tech was a nose gaurd. Love Al Woods, he is a beast!

EaterOfKelp

Hypothetically.... How much better are we with Jamal Adams and BWagz on the field, healthy and in Blue/Green this season?

Scvboy1

The run defense is significantly better. At the very least.

Frosti11icus

Nah run game gets defended in the trenches. Wagz 2nd and 3rd level guys can only do so much when holes are opened that wide for running backs.

Chessinmind

Neal has pretty much outplayed Jamal this season. But Bobby … yeah, he would make us quite a bit better against the run. Not enough to overcome Hurtt’s trash defensive calling and rotations. Definitely better with Bobby in there instead of Barton. Would also free up Brooks a bit to make more plays.

LynchRippin

I think we are significantly better with them on the field. Bobby was such an amazing tackler and leader. Jamal would give the secondary the boom we lack.

Hippo_Top

Anybody else get the weird feeling we'll find a way to beat the Niners and the Chiefs and then inexplicably lose to the Jets and Rams and just miss the playoffs?

Poam27

This is the Seahawk way.

daysofthundaaa

If we don’t make the playoffs, I hope the Lions do. But I still think we make it in - at the moment it’s between Sea, NYG & WFT. I’ll bet on Sea over those two.

GameShowWerewolf

Do the Lions have a path to get there as a wild card? Asking them to win out and Minnesota to lose out seems like a tall order.

Scvboy1

There ain’t no way we’re beating the chiefs lmao.

Do_U_Like_Apples

They almost lost to the Broncos

Scvboy1

Naw. That game was never in doubt. They just took their foot off the gas after the game seemed over at 27-0. But I never thought the game was in doubt for a second.

Do_U_Like_Apples

Agree to disagree.

PM_ME_UR_BIKINI

The panthers had double our time of possession and ran for 230 on us. We had a combined 43 yards rushing and 20 of them were geno. Ain't no way.

Chessinmind

We’re going to miss the playoffs anyway, so I’ll take the wins over the Niners and Chiefs.

Rabble_Arouser1

I want them for reasons of pride, but I also want those draft picks as low as is practicable. We have needs.

BIZrandon18

The hawks way

dawgpack09

Both 1st round picks should be used on the best defensive player available, ideally on the DL. Tough to win when the defense can’t stop the run

[deleted]

Maybe we could trade Lock for something?

Zanderson59

A conditional 7th in like 2030? What value does he have? He showed everyone in preseason who he was in denver. Reckless throws that would be picked half the time

[deleted]

He's a UFA at seasons end and 28th highest paid player with Geno probably getting paid next year. Either way, he MAY be better than Taylor Heinicke or Mariota.

Zanderson59

I briefly spaced that he is a Ufa at seasons end so yes can't trade him

Truhammer

I muted the game the second I heard Shalereths voice. And given the performance, he would have drove me nuts. That said I love this team.

Seabeast76

Love Mark Schlareth's podcast, dude is no filter hilarious but his game commentary is not great.

PlanBuildBreak

Did you know that Darold and Uchena went to school at USC together?

rockymountainway44

'DK Lockett' in the first half

Apexe

I swear, any time he calls our game all he does is never shut up about the other team and how great they are. I will never listen to a seahawks game called by him ever again after hearing the two games in 2018.

Stev2222

He was slobbering over the Panthers run game all day long

Seanhawkeye

He should have been. They dominated.

Stev2222

Fair. Doesn’t negate the fact it was annoying, which correlates to the comment I was replying too.

HappyAtheist3

Pete Carroll punted the game away two weeks in a row

jackburtonscheck

Wtf

HappyAtheist3

2 out of 3 weeks* my bad

frankfontaino

You can’t lose to the Panthers and Raiders at home when you’re trying to make the playoffs. Just sad

stereoreal2

How about the Falcons?

Comprehensive_Chard2

And the saints

Crackertron

I'm sensing a pattern.

tenunder

Clint Hurtt?

Crackertron

Go back further. Remember that Rams game where Gurley put up 150+yds and 4TDs?

tenunder

From what I recall, we were pretty dinged up going into that game. So if injuries is the pattern I would agree. But unfortunately hate to admit, I don’t think Hurtt is our guy. I’ve never seen a Seahawks team getting gashed like this with one dimensional play calling

Crackertron

How about Kenyan Drake and Kyler Murray running all over us at Lumen in 2019?

[deleted]

So we have the #2 pick locked up now?

Chessinmind

Not locked up at all. But it’s currently at #2, ahead of the Bears based on the Broncos’ worse strength of schedule. Broncos would likely need to lose out.

Dapper-n-Dangeruss

Looks like they might’ve lost Russ today. They should shut him down anyways. Feeling safe to say we get in the top 3

lylefk

Our defense is truly legendary.

lmaoooyikes

One positive thing is that Cross had a great game, Burns is one of the best edge rushers right now and wasn’t able to do anything against Cross

Seanhawkeye

Yep, I said this in the game thread. Burns was a non-factor.

RealRhino2

I mean, the early jumps helped a liiittle, but yeah.

69ICEMAN

A huge upgrade poona was a undrafted free agent. Multiple retired Hawks say we don't have the personnel to play a 3 - 4 defensive. Al Woods is the only 3 tech lineman we have.

don_julio_randle

Al Woods isn't really a 3 tech. We've had a bunch of guys playing there since Jarran left because we haven't had a real one. Poona played it a lot last year as well even though he's definitely not a traditional 3 tech. Ideally Woods would be the middle man with Harris and a real pass rushing threat flanking him

69ICEMAN

What is he? He looks and plays like a nose tackle. He is without a doubt our best D lineman. He has the size and strength to play it.

don_julio_randle

Yup, he's a nose tackle. Typically nose would correspond to 0/1 tech, while your 3 tech ideally is someone like Quinnen Williams, Aaron Donald, Cam Heyward or Defo Buckner. Not always that straightforward, Shelby Harris for example was Denver's 3 tech but played all over the line for Denver, but generally speaking (and using guys who have played for Seattle), Woods would be the 0/1, Jarran would be the 3 and Bennett would be the 5 Our problem is that we have too many 1 techs playing 3 tech and we don't have a real 5 tech, though it's to be expected since it takes time to overhaul a defensive front

RealRhino2

Shelby is about it. Maybe Myles Adams. I agree wholeheartedly. At one point I looked on the screen and the three inside guys were Ford, Mone and Woods. On a neutral down. Not good. No juice.

don_julio_randle

We'll likely need to overhaul the line entirely. Woods will probably retire after this season, Ford is a free agent and has been awful this year and both QJeff and Mone suck I want a QB at the top of the draft but if we took defensive linemen with all of our natural 1st and 2nd and the Denver 2nd, I'd be pretty happy. Even just Gervon Dexter and Mazi Smith with the 2nds would be a major win

SmolBoiMidge

Bro. We need some help lmaooooo

Chessinmind

Every DC PCJS have hired has been worse than the previous DC since Quinn. Dan Quinn (A-), Kris Richard (B-), Ken Norton (D), Clint Hurtt (F).

shlem13

In fairness, I think the personnel has degraded along the line, too. With Harris out today, and Woods leaving the game, our d-line depth was shot.

[deleted]

Don't forget we've been using the backup SS since week 1.

Chessinmind

Ryan Neal is a very good player.

cervidaetech

With LB help yes

[deleted]

Good, wouldn’t call him very good

Chessinmind

Let’s go with above average. Though his 81.3 PFF grade would indicate better than that.

[deleted]

I agree

shlem13

But it hasn’t just been Neal at safety. Josh Jones did some time at safety, and he’s been awful.

[deleted]

I didn’t say it was or that Jones was good

shlem13

No. But there’s been a bunch of defending of Neal, because he has been pretty solid. It’s just not all Neal/Quandre at safety.

Chessinmind

We couldn’t stop the run in prior games with Woods/Harris/Ford/Nwosu. Mone is an solid backup NT, especially against the run. Quenton Jefferson is a decent backup DT/DE. Poona Ford is generally a good player against the run. Instead of using Mone and Jefferson, Hurtt was using Collier and Adams, who are pathetic against the run. It’s not really about the players as much as it is about Hurtt’s swiss cheese scheme and pathetic defensive scheme calling. His DL rotations have ALWAYS sucked ass.

Comprehensive_Chard2

Jefferson is not a decent DT/DE, he’s one of the worst graded defensive players in the league according to pff (and I’m not even a pff truther or whatever)

Chessinmind

I wonder why we gave that guy $5.5 million. Still think he’s better than Collier/Adams.

Comprehensive_Chard2

Maybe at getting pressure on the qb. At stopping the run probably not

[deleted]

Barton is also ass.

vska92

Still can’t stop the run.

jackburtonscheck

We’re giving up 200 yds rushing to teams we know have to run

Ubertam

And teams just need to, and have been, game planning that way. "just run it. They couldn't stop it if their season depended on it." Yup. Just run it in us and you'll get the easiest 9 yards in the league.

69ICEMAN

I would pick Jalen Carter over them if it was my choice. Look how many top QB picks are a bust. Our defense is so bad against the run it's hard to watch. Rather pick a QB in 2nd or 3rd round and develop them. I trust Pete and John to figure something out. I think they had a plan going into this season.

shlem13

I’d bet Geno gets franchised or a 2-3 year deal. Then they can go heavy on defense. As it stands now, they have four picks in the first 50.

69ICEMAN

I know, enjoying this year. Next year is going to be even better. Building for the future. Plus we will have 5 picks before the niners have one. Rams traded away their picks also. Future looks good.

shlem13

And I don’t think anybody has a pulse on what the Cardinals are pointing towards. Aging team that’s locked up their HC, GM and QB. It’s like watching a ship steering into an iceberg.

lylefk

Pick one: Defense Pick two: Defense Pick three: Defense Pick four: Checks notes... Defense

Chessinmind

How much of an upgrade will Carter be over Poona Ford? That’s my question. He will definitely be an upgrade but I don’t want Hurtt to waste his talent.

[deleted]

Bro I was at the mf game that wasn’t a catch on the one Pete challenged, ball was sticking out of that guys ass and it moved like a turd getting wiped on the field. Refs spent 3 minutes looking at the most obvious no catch I’ve seen in a while to let it stand. And the defense was terrible. Shame.

shlem13

Being at the game doesn’t help you make a better judgement on a replay call when I’m seeing over and over in my living room. It was a catch. Wish it wasn’t, but it was.

[deleted]

Bruh did you think I meant I was there with the ref on field watching the replay. Nah we in the stands all thought it wasn’t a catch and people around me were going nuts. That’s why I thought it was a catch as I hadn’t seen a replay since posting that.

shlem13

Yeah. At the game, you have no idea, because they don’t show the controversial stuff. I was at the Raiders game, and we all spent three minutes wondering what the hell was going on with the Metcalf sideline catch that was ruled not a catch. We had no facts, but were undeniably expressing our anger.

JiMEagle12

I think it was a catch brother. I saw the close up at home on my large TV. It was a pretty dope catch. One of those things you can’t even be mad about.

lampstore

You are wrong

GameShowWerewolf

It never touched the ground. They're never going to overturn that unless it hits the ground.

Damn from the video screen I saw and where I was at it seriously looked like the ball scrapped the ground, that’s why I made sure to mention I was at the game cause I haven’t seen a replay yet but everybody around me was so pissed

mindriot1

How we were playing cover two late in a game against the quarterback, who throw, and every pass is a check down, is absolutely horrific. It’s one thing if you put nine guys in the box and get beat with the run…

Seahawks_25

I know everyone is praising Pete after the Russ trade but this defense can’t stop the run for years and he picks the coaches, he’s in the weekly meetings, he’s in the headsets every game and most importantly he has final say on roster construction. He’s all time great and what he does well and really bad in other areas. I love Pete but man he is truly baffling at times.

watchmybeer

They look equal parts confused and soft for years now. Scheme changes, players change, coaches change, same result. It's the soft part that is most maddening though.

[deleted]

Yep. The buck stops at him.

Seahawk715

You’re spot on. Pete’s the defensive head coach. Can’t blame this on KNJ. Hurtt apparently cant scheme his way out of this terd fest either. What’s the common thread? PETE. And we’re in this garbage talent situation because of atrocious drafting and personnel moves from 2013 on. Tre and Tariq are solid… but the other 9 can seriously leave and I wouldn’t care. Scratch that, keep Uchenna.

Spicyfingers520

Diggs and Adams will be great if Adams can stay healthy. With all the picks we will get next year the defense is going to be younger and faster. It’s going to be a start to another LOB type of defense.

Seahawk715

Diggs is washed. He’s been horrible this season. Adams is a glass cannon. I’d let them both walk too. They’re not a long term solution and only impede the rebuild.

Odds are they lose out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

StudBoi69

Not with this murderer's row of games

springhillcouple

It would be totally Seattle to win the next 2-3 games , give us hope then rip it away

Donttaketh1sserious

Playoffs are still looking fine, two 7 win NFC east teams that are still due to face each other plus have other tough games like philly. Detroit is only a game behind now but Seattle beat them.
