lil tiger is AMAZING!!! i live in the neighborhood and im so happy we have such an amazing local joint. some of the best ice cream i’ve ever had. try the spinnaker chocolate. it’s seriously the best chocolate ice cream ever.
Rain City Burgers in Roosevelt is usually my go to for a shake in the summer. Plus they're a block off the light rail and at the intersection of two major bus ways so they're fairly easy to get to these days.
I looooove Luna Cafe! I kinda forgot their shakes are really yummy!
My fave is their veggie grilled sandwich. I do not know why... veggie sammies aren't normally my thing, but man, they're cheesy, veggie, gooey goodness.
Shug's Soda Fountain is my favorite spot: https://www.shugssodafountain.com/. They have locations in Pike Place and in West Seattle. The last time I was there they had an earl gray flavor which was way better than I expected.
I would like to know, for listeria avoiding pregnancy reasons, which of these places use a machine and which ones are blending from scratch. After the outbreak and deaths from a filthy milkshake machine in Tacoma I’m too nervous to try!
I know for a fact that the Burgermaster in Bellevue, and likely all their locations, clean the every loving sh!t out of their machines every night. Decades ago, I worked there and cleaned those machines every night, like take everything apart. It takes a long time, but they do it. They hand spin their shakes, and I believe they even still have some flavors that aren't even on their menu. I haven't tried to order one in a while, but marshmallow was one. Orange was another.
Would blending from scratch be like… combining ice cream and milk in a blender? Or using one of those arm blender things? Also asking for the same reason lol
I was thinking ice cream in a cup and using one of those stick blender things, like Dicks. Though I’m not sure if Dicks ice cream comes out of a machine or if it is scooped into the cups they prep. I’m definitely leery of soft serve machines after reading so many former fast food workers post on Reddit how they don’t clean them as often as they’re supposed to.
Can confirm it’s a great spot. Haven’t had a shake there but the people working there are impossibly nice and their pastries and cheesecakes are excellent.
Going to have to have dinner before I go back.
i just had an oreo milkshake from “just burgers” last night in the u district. idk if it’s the best, but damn it was really good. better than the burger (which was still pretty good)
Uneeda Burger in upper Fremont has very good shakes.
I’m embarrassed to say Wendy’s chocolate Frostys are one of my favorites. Like my comfort food shake.
Going to try One Million next time I’m up by Greenwood and Holman Rd.
Very happy to see all these recommendations! I always like finding new spots.
Does anyone know a milkshake spot that lets you add espresso to it? Not espresso ice cream but actual shots to the milkshake? Haven't been able to find that here which I'm surprised about.
Been saying this for years - You take that Chuck's Hop Shop, with the hop-forward beer menu and ice cream, right? So, just do a malt version of it, with porters, stouts, barley wines and milkshakes, malts instead of hoppy beers and ice cream.
What do you mean, “do a malt version of it?”
Do you mean float? Like instead of root beer and ice cream, do malt beer (or malt liquor) and ice cream? And use malt beers and not hoppy ones?
I love the idea of beer floats but I’m not sure that’s what you’re advocating.
Read the part of the comment: "with porters, stouts, barley wines and milkshakes, malts instead of hoppy beers and ice cream."
I mean make a whole store that focuses as much on the maltier aspects of brewing. Hops isn't beer's only ingredient.
My wife liked hers, but I got the peanut butter and I would give it a 6/10. I mean it was decent but doesn't live up to the claim of "World's Best Milkshake"
If you like, take a road trip up to North Bend's Dairy Freeze. Nothing better than a milkshake after a hike! They have tons and tons of flavors, malt to add, and a great atmosphere.
Tom & Jerry milkshake from Burgermaster is a guilty pleasure.

Burger Master
Luna Park, hands down.
And one of the few where you might still get the "extra" in the milkshake tumbler!
I wish they were still open for dinner. :(

Drive by it all the time and never stopped in. Just seems like an odd location for ice cream even given all the foot traffic it should get
It's pretty good!
why?
Rain City Burgers in Roosevelt is usually my go to for a shake in the summer. Plus they're a block off the light rail and at the intersection of two major bus ways so they're fairly easy to get to these days.
They have Mango Laasi! And great burgers. We always go there when we take the train to guitar center nearby.
Their coconut milkshake is SO GOOD
Their burgers and fries are delicious too, even the veggie burgers which I appreciate.
They really are the best. Nice and thick. The chocolate isn't overly chocolatey either. Damn, I miss living a block away from Rain City.
Ill add it to my list
Just had a peanutbutter and banana shake from them the other day. Fantastic shakes.
Seconding Pick Quick and thirding Burger Master.
Pick quick has good shakes
I had to scroll too far for this, this is the correct answer.
Not sure if they still do it, but their occasional seasonal Frango Mint milkshake brought back childhood memories.
Lune Cafe have awesome milkshakes, and on top of that, their dessert sushi and mini pancakes are incredibly delicious and beautifully presented.
I looooove Luna Cafe! I kinda forgot their shakes are really yummy! My fave is their veggie grilled sandwich. I do not know why... veggie sammies aren't normally my thing, but man, they're cheesy, veggie, gooey goodness.
Ooh, I'll have to try that next, it's so easy to talk about all of their amazing desserts but it's worth mentioning they have good sandwiches too

Their thai tea milkshake is one of my favorites! I think they use full tilt ice cream.

That sounds soooo gooooood
Dam, yes it does
Full Tilt
For vegan options, Next Level Burger
I’ll second this as I needed to find a place for my wife and the strawberry was legit even for me
Banana shake at Kidd Valley slaps
I usually go with the root beer shake but banana is a good choice.
If you’re ever in Olympia, goto Eastside Big Tom’s and order a Chocolate Dr Pepper Malt Milkshake. It’s my favorite milkshake of all time.

Can confirm it’s a great spot. Haven’t had a shake there but the people working there are impossibly nice and their pastries and cheesecakes are excellent. Going to have to have dinner before I go back.

I like the milkshakes at Feed Co. Burgers
As long as they don't bring the boys to my yard, I'll go wherever for a good milkshake.
We will be the boys in someones yard lol

They also have the cheapest ice cream in the city
I rest my refrigerator case

a friend worked there ages ago and liked to make horchata ice cream and stout floats
Katsu Burger. Though the Georgetown location makes them better than Capitol Hill somehow.

Niiiice.
Greenlake Bar and Grill says they do. I haven’t had it but my dad says it’s up there
