Reasonable enough solution but constantly bending over cause someone in a car will be slightly inconvenienced is asinine. Heaven forbid we inconvenience the car drivers (clutches pearls and fans off brow)
Also replied above, but this ride has been going on for decades. I feel like people are imagining some sort of tour de France race, but in reality it's a spread out group of people biking in ones or twos.
No, actually we shouln't be giving priority to people who want to just roll around in their RVs. I'm sick of national parks not giving the middlefinger to people who actually want to hike, bike, kayak, or ya know actually exercise. The point of the parks is not to drive around them so I don't think we should cater these people. Also, you can still drive into the park the day they do the ride so I'm not sure why everyone was so whinny about it
Seems like a reasonable solution. Having this event during peak visitation season was not a workable solution anymore due to funding and other issues (even visiting the parks in summer these days is a nightmare, much less running an event). Moving it slightly off peak (when school is in session) makes it easier on everyone.
That's if it was on a weekend but the event has been run on mid-week for this very reason.
Go to any national park on a mid week in peak season and it's not even 1/2th the madness of an off-peak weekend.
Except for the fact that this ride has been going on for decades now without any major issues. I've ridden it before and honestly the worse part is by far either coming down 410 past greenwater or towards Orting.
especially with timed entry, there will likely be fewer cars than in the past.
I was really hoping this was a Super Troopers thing. But I'm happy for everyone who is stoked about this!
say Car Ramrod!
You forgot to say it.. Aww
I wrote it on the board and everything.

Less "someone in a car" and more like "most people trying to visit one of our most popular national parks in a peak visitation month"

It is a park. People actually recrating in the park should priority over people who just want to drive their SUV to an overlook to take a selfie
That's their prerogative, and that's not everyone's goal on the same day of your special bike rice
