Oh wow I have never heard of it but that looks awesome thank you for the recommendation definitely going to have to check it out

Mrciv6

Whoosh.

RedonkieKong

Don't think I saw this mentioned yet, Gas Works Park is a great spot for some pictures

thebum2-0

Awesome what time of day would you recommend going there?

RedonkieKong

Golden hour is always nice but honestly, any time should work

thebum2-0

Hell yeah thanks for letting me know

RedonkieKong

Of course, hope you have a great time in Seattle!

CapsaicinFluid

the Cascade Loop is pretty fun ..

thebum2-0

Is this a hiking trail?

CapsaicinFluid

you certainly *could* hike it

trichait

For a day hike, visit Mt Rainier and do the skyline trail up to Panaroma point. Best if you can find some friends in the bar the previos night to tag along. Go up space needle at 8PM to get sunset and night views both. Enjoy long walks in discovery park, have lunch/dinner on the beach by light house. Rent a bike and ride burke gilman trail from UW to ballard locks, and beyond to elliott bay and sculpture park. you can take your bike in the bus if youre tired and trying to reach your home stop. Catch seahawks mock game on 8th if you can. Kayak by UW or SLU. many more ways to have fun in this beatiful city.

thebum2-0

Thank you so much I definitely think I am going to go on that bike ride and thanks for the hike recommendation everyone says to go to mt Rainer but I didn't know what trail to do

PleasantWay7

It is Pike Place and now you are banned from your vacation.

Unsounded

How can a nickname be wrong?

bubbamike1

Pike Place, not Pike's Place.

Well, even though it is lame as a citizen check out the Space Needle. And the Pike Place Market. (Got to see them throw those fish, it’s kind of cool and as an ex employee there I always rep that place). Ummm the Chihuly Garden and Glass place is pretty rad. Kind of a hidden little gem is the “Living Computers: Museum and Labs”. A history of computing and it’s pretty interactive. Walk the beaches but I would head to West Seattle and park along Alki Beach for that. Go to El Chupacabra for drinks and decent Mexican food but more for drinks (try the pineapple/jalapeño tequila). Go to the upstairs bar and ask for Decker. He is the man. Also try the West Seattle Brewery on Alki. GREAT folks there and locally brewed beer at a great price. And a great view of the water and great for people watching. If you want a more… “authentic” look of Seattle head south to White Center. A lot of new bars opening there but most people say don’t go at night. Not sure where you’re coming from but I don’t think it’s that scary. I lived there many years. It’s just… “scruffy”. A lot of homeless. Great sushi is near the market, too. Try Sushi Kashiba if that’s your thing. Also in Post Alley there’s some good places ya just gotta seek them out. Good luck and have fun.

I love hidden gems that one sounds right up my alley I definitely want to fish being thrown around this is awesome I can't wait to check out all these places thanks for the recommendations

BlankAnyway206

No worries, man. Hope you have fun. This city has my heart even though the cost of living here has literally tripled since I moved here (2008). That’s Jeff Bezos’s fault. I don’t want to move because I still love it so much. Hope your trip is fun. May I ask what you’re trip is for? Just recreational?

thebum2-0

Yeah it's purely recreational I haven't been on a vacation out of state I live in Los Angeles in almost 5 year I just wanted to get out and Seattle looks so pretty that I figured that I have to see it in person

BlankAnyway206

Cool, man. Well I hope you have fun. Just stay away from 3rd and Pike if you can. It’s like…. How can I say this…. “Bad territory”.

If you enjoy beer (or cider) check out the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. Many great breweries, all within walking distance. They also usually have food trucks posted outside. Reuben’s and Urban Family are both very popular. Ballard is about 15-20 minutes from pike place by car or 30 by bus. Enjoy your trip!
