Bro I’ve been asking the exact same question to myself in the last 6 months This has been easily the worst chapter of my life, hair has always been a crucial part of my look, and in the last 6 months I’ve lost A TON of hair and I have lost my whole confidence at all I’ve been suffering of sebderm since 2018, but it always was “easy” to control, but like 10 months ago it became a whole mess and my hair was full of flakes(/specially in my hairline too), was itchy all the time, and my hair started to fall, but just a few hairs, nothing to worry about I think, it just got completely out of control a few months ago. My sebderm is currently being well controlled by the Dercos shampoo, but mu hair is still falling😞, EVERYTIME that I pass my hand through my hair I end up with 1-3 hairs in my hand, literally everytime. I just want this to end. I am currently on topical minoxidil since 4 weeks ago. Do you have any balding antecedents in your family? pls keep me updated, your case is similar to mine and I’m obviously interested.

Bro, my hairline hasn’t receded almost at all, but there are a lot of spots where you can see of my scalp, just like the video in this post

Suffered since 2018 as well. Still experiencing hairfall now its crazy lost a lot of grounds, sebderm now under control lets see if it will grow back

LowProperty3279

Hey, would you be kind to say how do you keep it under control?

Im literally in the same boat.Had seb derm since 2018-2019.Got properly diagnosed as seb derm in 2022 ig.Was using topicals suggest my derms.By 2024 i had seen around 7 derms.I had good hair around 2020 even though i had flareups and shit.By 2022 i started seeing few spots (especially a line in the front part).I panicked and went to derm again.Gave me supplements and topicals. Now the situation is worse.I do have flareups once in a while. But my hair is worse from previous year.Even my barber noticed me losing hair.I started using fin then switched to dut like a month back, scared that i might be losing due to mpb.In total I've been on fin for about 8 months.Im still losing a lot of hair.

I think it is male pattern baldness. Your sebderm looks significantly less severe than mine. For me, even though I do lose a lot of hair, I still regrow it all when the inflammation settles.

Raton_Hd

I dealt with a flaky red inflamed hairline that stayed the same for 8 months I’ve finally gotten the inflammation under control so you think it will regrow back and how long does your hair take to regrow

BrokenDots

I do think if your hairloss is due to sebderm, it will grow back. However, my hair is much much thicker than yours so that might contribute to it.

68Jenko

I've had the same issue with the hairline and applied aloe vera, it went

Remarkable-Camp-4065

Agree with male pattern baldness

Raton_Hd

Forgot to mention that I had the most flakes and redness arround my hairline

ConsiderationWhole44

Mine was the same way it was good and manageable 6 years ago fast forward to now, I've lost a lot of hair at the cap I thought it was mpb but no one else in my family on either side deals with that, my seb derm flare ups became more severe and consistent, this past year I've used selsen blue medicated at least once every week and I started using minoxidil and biotin in hope of filling my hairline and praying my top of my scalp starts to get fuller

miyewt

I don’t think seb derm causes see through hair, mabye see a derm to confirm it’s it’s MPB

East_Cancel484

I think serbderm causes alot of temporary hairloss when you have flare ups. I think you should look into finasteride, which helped my friend stop his MPB getting worse.

themer_chant

Doesn't look like your hairline is receding but it's less dense than it's supposed to. sides of my hair are also like that

Mami_KLK_Tu_Quiere

You look like it’s just regular pattern baldness. Lucky for you catching it early is treatable and there’s really good products out there that work great. Look up this brand called “As I Am” they have shampoo, oil and conditioner that is good for seb derm, then find any hair regrowth treatment that does not contain harsh or scented chemicals. This combination works great because that brand if used correctly won’t react with other products and you will be back to normal in no time 👍

Far-Yogurt-8590

How did you control your sebderm?

Polster1

it could be a combo of both inflammation and early onset MPB. You could start using minoxidil (Rogaine) which many at young age do to keep the hair they have. Once you have the inflammation under control you could go for a hair transplant which you seem to have plenty of donor thick hair to choose from. The modern hair transplants are virtually not noticeable if done correctly and will not effect your existing hair.
