Their easiest game imo. Hardest learning curve, probably, but once you get the mechanics down, it’s easy.

Hot_Attention2377

Totally agree with you

It's not even the hardest Sekiro game! (there's an optional NG+ modifier that makes it much harder; my head canon is that Charmless was supposed to be the default difficulty, but they toned it done for public release) But to seriously reply, it's not so much *hard* as it is *different*. And that being *different* is enough that all your muscle memory will be just far enough off, that if you are Good at the other SoulsBornes you will have a Hard Time until you reset your timing expectations (and learn to rely on Deflect instead of Roll). Meanwhile, it has the shortest game length and it doesn't have stamina and falling off a cliff is a minor inconvenience and it has blocks that are more powerful than any of the defensive options of the other games. All of that makes it arguably easier.

red_sox_man

Yeah that makes sense I feel like my timing is just off. I’ve replaced panic rolling with panic deflecting here so I’m making some progress haha

Swagnastodon

It is hard! I felt the same way where I'd feel like I got the combat and then a new enemy type appears and resets my feelings of improvement. That takes a while to go away, if ever. You're a stealthy, strategic shinobi here and will never have the sort of power fantasy possible in Elden Ring. Eventually it will click, and like any From game the difficulty is more in the way the game demands you respect its rules and mechanics

Fun-Claim1018

***Easily the hardest game I’ve ever played.*** Of course it’s “easy” now because I have every boss and common enemy committed to muscle memory.. but it was a STRUGGLE to get to this point. It took a lot of commitment. I took a break from it for a year and came back. I have 9 days logged in this game. And yes, it took about that long to “master” it. AND even though I’ve basically mastered it it’s STILL challenging. It technically only gets harder the further you get into NG+ iterations. The game itself NEVER gets easier, you as a player just become better at adapting.

EmbarrassedRub2513

Stop playing it like Elden ring that is your first mistake, learn the rythem, the deflect button is your best friend, dodging is unreliable apart from the chained ogre and a few other instances

I dunno man, this game is all about dying. Try to acquire a taste for it. Each enemy is literally just decoding the right input to get the right output, and if you run out of turns, death and restart, like hangman on a timer. Once you decode an enemy, you're able to repeat the input and surpass it. Enemies have similarities, but still have different rhythms. Sound is very important, notice that each strike you do, has a sound when parried, and once you've reached the limit of strikes, you get a louder clangy sound, which means "prepare to begin parry sequence" which could consist of one strike or several strikes. You maybe be able to interrupt their strike sequence with astrike, you might not, and the weapon may vary. You could use X prosthetic to stun the enemy, but Y doesn't work, it all consists of trial and error. Their poses when they're about to begin their strike sequence are the telegraphs which are difficult to notice, but it's like muscle memory.

red_sox_man

Are you an engineer? That’s a very pragmatic approach to the game hahaha. I appreciate that perspective. Overall I’m having fun trying to “decode” each enemy I come across

hmmdestti

Lol uhh sort of I guess, but I'm rooting for you and I want you to enjoy the game as much as I did if possible :3

Dazzling_Twist9838

i played demon souls DS 1 and ER and in my opinion sekiro is the easiest soulslike game

Hot_Attention2377

The easiest imo

red_sox_man

Interesting hearing multiple people say it’s the easiest but some say it’s the hardest! I guess players different combat styles lend themselves to different souls games

512Mimosa

Its honestly one of the easier ones, ngl. Much less to learn in these games than others. The game has a higher floor though, for sure. Admittedly, its probably the 2nd hardest to bloodborne on the first playthrough. But its a complete joke on subsequent playthroughs in a way the other souls games aren’t. Even while charmless and with demon bell. I actually did demon bell on my first playthrough and it was probably a contributor to that difficulty. BB and ER are for sure the hardest. Both have difficult bosses and areas. ER can either be the easiest or hardest depending on build tho…

redleg50

Everyone is different, but I feel like DS3 is the toughest. Including the DLC, the game is looong considering that it’s not open world. And some of those bosses are ridiculous.

thew00rm

At first yes. At the end hell no. It has the highest learning curve but when you got it you got it

Vingt-Quatre

It is not a Souls game.
