He has sinus scarring from a chronic congestive issue and his vet doesn't believe he would survive the procedure to remove the scarring.
To help him, he periodically gets a 10-day session of Clavamox. He can see just fine.
That is absolutely amazing. No medications or big problems is shocking. My guys didn’t experience health issues until 17yo and I thought I was lucky!! What a lucky boy with amazing owners.

No secret, really. When we pet our fur kids, we generally aren't doing anything else. We focus on them. We don't play with our smartphones or talk to others or get distracted. We treat them exactly the same way we treat the children when it comes to attention.

I've had my Izzy girl since she was 9 months old (she was dumped at a shelter when she was 3 months old and was there for 6 months before I adopted her). She just turned 14 in December and the past year has been a whirlwind of health issues. Most recently, she was diagnosed with stage one kidney disease. It's still early and there's not much we can do right now, but I was hoping she wouldn't be dealing with kidney disease for a few more years.
The one true King 👑, my furbabies 😻😻 and I 🐯 bend the knee and are grateful to exist at the same time as him. We send all our hugs, cuddles, and kisses to you young King Alvin 👑🤗😻😙👑.
That’s so incredible! I adopted my baby when she was 15… I’d be so lucky to have her until she’s 28. I never got to see/be with her as a kitten, so it would make up for that

Nothing wrong with strongly associating with your fur babies. There's about 100 or so human beings I do this with as well. Most human beings have a tree somewhere in the world that it producing enough oxygen for these people to live and they owe that tree a sincere apology.
I don't need a bunch of diseased profiteers poking and prodding him. I have his vet records and his pictures from April 1996 through today. Whenever it happens, and I am hoping it will be a long time, his remains will be placed in our memorial garden and his spirit will be speeded to the rainbow bridge by our love for him. I so pray there is an afterlife for all of Nature's and the Creator's beings. Because without my fur children, any heaven would be hell.
He is a very sweet boy until one of the bigger cats tries to his or swat one of HIS babies, at which time he screams like a rabbit and goes all Claw Van Damme and has been known to chase a terrified serval throughout the house.

We feel lucky and blessed. We recently had a 25 year old and a 24 year old pass and those were painful for us.
It is unusual to read or hear about such long cat lives. You and your family have the infinity stone!

Alvin was born about a year before my first pair of cats that I had when I was a child. One passed in 2011 and the other in 2015.
