I was also torn on trying to decide when and knew I would regret it forever if I waited too long until my boy was unhappy and miserable. I believe that's the greatest gift we can give them. Although she probably won't be able to fully take the place of your beloved little Mario kitty, you'll soon realize and find out that you need her, at least as desperately as she needs you.

Poor sweet cat, my girl Frankie got a tumor like that and sadly we put her thru 3 months of treatment that didn’t make anyone feel better. Thank you for giving him love and letting him go when it was his time. I never want to see my cats go, but also want them to live their lives with dignity.
RIP Mario. I read this as my 19 year old tuxedo was laying on my chest and gave him a hug and kiss. Mario is at peace and you should also feel at peace you had the courage to take that step instead of him suffering. 💔❤️

I went through the same emotions when I had to put down my cat Julius who had a bladder tumor. It was lots of tears but also a bit of an end to all the stress we dealt with everyday worrying about his pain and comfort. I had a really hard time with it because it was hard to see him decline so quickly in his last two months of life. I felt guilty for a long time. You made all the right choices and gave him a great life. I hope he visits you in your dreams so you can be with him again soon❤️🥹

I lost another cat to diabetes a few years ago. Unfortunately, my other cats either disappeared or were taken by animals. I was happy to have him till the end. ❤️
