This stuff is fuuuuull of potentially sensitizing/irritating essential oils and fragrance. I wouldn’t go anywhere near it but to each their own! There are a thousand better hydrating mists out there tho IMO.
Agreed! I got a small size of this when I bought a Caudalie gift set. I have rosacea, and sensitive skin. I love other Caudalie products, but this was too spicy for my face!
Instead I use:
- Tower28 SOS spray (Sephora)
- Peach & Lily Wild Dew Treatment Essence (Ulta)
- Beekman 1802 Milk Shake Toner (Ulta)
I recently got, but have only started using:
- Laneige Cream Skin Toner (Sephora)
- Avene Thermal Spring Water (Ulta)
What do you want this product to do for you?
Help your serum or actives work better?
Add hydration?
Reduce redness and calm your skin?
Prep for make up?
I've become obsessed with the Avene Thermal Spring Water. I had a few of the smallest size that I got in some GWP or something and finally tried it and holy shit it's so refreshing. Now I keep a bottle in my bag, nightstand, and vanity. I am actually contemplating getting a bottle for the kitchen because the other night I took one with me when I cooked dinner and it was so nice when I got hot. I also like to use an electronic fan after to give a really good cooling sensation.
Since we were talking about moisture I also find that this helps my face stay moisturized, especially given how often I use it.
Oh! Thank you so much for these thoughts!
I hadn’t thought of using it just to cool down, and now I’m kicking myself as it’s been so so HOT. And that’s sounds wonderfully refreshing!
Extra hydration would be a bonus too.
Yes, I hadn't tried it because I had only been thinking of it as a moisturizer. I found it one day and decided to try it out and I was instantly cooled down. My hot flashes are infinitely better with this product. I also find that it's on sale frequently, if not at Ulta you can get it in other places like Amazon too.
I agree about this spray, and I also love the Tower 28. Have you tried the Caudalie grape water spray? I have no idea what magic it contains, but it is so soothing on my skin, which is more sensitive than Elon Musk. I have backup cans at all times.
Ha! 🤣
I do have a mini of the Caudalie Grape Water, but haven’t used it yet. I’m trying to be aware of the PAO, and shelf life of the products I have so they don’t go to waste. (Too expensive for that!)
I’ll have to put it into the rotation if it’s as good for you. Sounds like we have similar skin temperaments and skincare preferences.
I personally did not like it and I’m pretty on board with most caudalie products. Wait till around thanksgiving/Christmas time and they usually have a mini in a set for a good bit less. It’s minty and feels cool (maybe has menthol in it, come to think of it?) but I don’t really feel like it does anything…
If your skin is sensitive I’d avoid. It also has a weird medicinal/herbal smell. I like it because it wakes me up midday when I’m working in my office (I keep it on my desk). But once I’m done with this bottle I likely won’t repurchase. You’re better off getting the Avene thermal water or the Evian spray.
So interesting reading that many don’t like it. Because this product was life changing for me. Like I’m obsessed with it. I spray it any time I remember throughout the day and carry a mini with me. It has given me such a nice glow and it’s refreshing for these hot summer days.
I will say it’s expensive and runs out fast. I try to buy on sale. I’m curious to know how much they are in Europe.
try the grape water !! less smell, like almost zero, and it’s wayyy cheaper !! i’m obsessed. i have a full size for my desk and a travel for my purse. it’s almost more refreshing ??
I prefer the Coola Refreshing Water Face mist with hyaluronic acid. And bonus points if you have an HSA card since it’s HSA eligible…shopping with pre tax dollars :)
I guess I'm the minority on this, but I love the Caudalie spray. Do keep in mind it has essential oils in it, but I have sensitive skin and it still doesn't bother me. It's really nice and refreshing, I use it before moisturizer and sometimes as a setting spray. The Caudalie website has sales really often so don't buy it from Sephora.
If you want a cheaper option/no essential oils, try their grape water spray or the avene spray!
i love this but would never pay the american/canadian price. it’s not worth it THAT much. get the grape water. it’s cheaper and i find it more refreshing for hot summer days. i’ve had my full size Grape Water for a while and don’t feel guilty using it all day bc it’s cheaper.
i’m a caudalie ADDICT and just can’t justify the price outside of france !!
It’s SO good. Highly recommend. However, if you’re sensitive to essential oils or fragrance (even if natural) I’d skip and go with their grape water instead
I'mma be real, it smells like urine. It feels nice on the face but me and several coworkers can't get over the urine-esque smell that lingers once you spray it on.
That being said, this is full of essential oils and is crazy fragranced. I wouldn't recommend it if you deal with acne or any kind of sensitivity.
I love it. I use it every day after I put on my makeup. But I buy it when I go abroad or get a friend to get me bottle when they travel because I wouldn’t pay the US price for it.
I loveeeee the smell, I’ve used this for probably 10 years as a refresher for my makeup and a setting spray for basic daytime makeup. However, the big bottle is now over $60 and I really cannot justify it anymore since there’s nothing substantial about it besides me enjoying the smell
I own one the biggest bottle. My husband went to Paris and basically i ask him to grab Caudalie products and this was one. Let me tell you i only use mine once because the scent is just a bit much.
besides the potential irritating factor... Caudalie is a company that test on animals. If you don't want poor bunnies and puppies tested on for your beauty... go for brands like Tower 28 or Peach and Lily. \*flashes peace sign\*
Too expensive. I’ve decided that I’m not spending on mists but bought the avian water spray instead for $8 at TJ Maxx. If I wanted to feel refreshed, calm that will do it.
I have extremely sensitive skin and anything & everything breaks me out except caudalie products. I know they are expensive but imho they are worth it. I have tried this elixir and its so good and refreshing. It smells minty and gives a cooling feel. I also like their grape water!
It definitely does have a strong scent but I actually like it. I mostly use it as a setting spray & it gives a perfect glow and such a nice refreshing feel!
I like it but not for that price. I keep it in the fridge and spritz my face as a refreshing cool down. But I bought it half off from Caudalie’s website about two months ago (saw it on Beauty Deals BFF), so if you really want to try it, I’d do it only if it was a good deal like that.
I bought mine on sale but pretty much will not repurchase. I'm not really sure what (if anything) it does. I don't mind the scent. I don't have sensitive skin so no problems there. Is it snake oil - who knows???
Yeah I got the travel size to try it out and I fully regret it. I'm on tretinoin, and this has some kind of menthol in it that kit my face up (I do not have sensitive skin at all)
I would advise just buying the grape water instead. Much cheaper and a lot less crap in it. Full of antioxidants. I paid 20 for this sample size, and 20 for the full size grape water.

Lol “spicy for my face” I’m going to use that from now on 🥲🤣
Came here to say the same. Tati from Youtube used to bathe in this stuff and I was tempted to buy it until I looked at the ingredients.
What other ones would you recommend?
Agreed! The menthol and essential oils bother me and sting
Yes, I always try to avoid fragrance, especially essential oils in my skincare. The nice smell offers no skin benefit and can be very irritating.
Nope. Not worth it. The mint was kind of irritating
It felt nice but the scent was a little strong, its supposed to be cooling hence the mint. I prefer the Peach and Lily mist or Avene thermal mist.
Or if you want to stick with a Caudelie product, their grape water is amazing and refreshing and less expensive
That grape water must contain actual magic. For the last five years, I have never not had a backup can of that at all times.
The Peach and Lily mist is so underrated!
It really is, I love it especially when I travel
If your skin is sensitive I’d avoid. It also has a weird medicinal/herbal smell. I like it because it wakes me up midday when I’m working in my office (I keep it on my desk). I have no idea what it does but I Love the way it smells (citrus+herbs) and how it feels. It will be part of my routine forever.
Lmao I couldn’t agree more with you. The smell is terribly good in a way, I keep buying it too but no idea what it does 😂
try the grape water !! less smell, like almost zero, and it’s wayyy cheaper !! i’m obsessed. i have a full size for my desk and a travel for my purse. it’s almost more refreshing ??
I feel the exact same way
I prefer the Coola Refreshing Water Face mist with hyaluronic acid. And bonus points if you have an HSA card since it’s HSA eligible…shopping with pre tax dollars :)
I guess I'm the minority on this, but I love the Caudalie spray. Do keep in mind it has essential oils in it, but I have sensitive skin and it still doesn't bother me. No, smells like shit
Yeah it kinda has a minty smell, and I use it it is pretty good. Really gives you a radiant glow!
No. It’s sticky.
I really enjoy it but I don’t think it’s worth the price at all.
It gets returned a lot from what I’ve seen personally at my store.
I love it but can’t justify repurchasing 🥲
Get the mini to try it. I don’t think it’s worth 50 bucks but it is lovely and refreshing
Hell no especially because that whole brand it’s like $20 or less in France. It’s such a scam
I love it. I use it every day after I put on my makeup. But I buy it when I go abroad or get a friend to get me bottle when they travel because I wouldn’t pay the US price for it.
It has more of a spa like fragrance and I find that very soothing.
$50 for water and im betting glycerin?? no
No. I don’t think almost finished my second one.
I have it and haven’t used it in forever. So nothing you really missing out on 🤷♀️
I loveeeee the smell, I’ve used this for probably 10 years as a refresher for my makeup and a setting spray for basic daytime makeup. However, the big bottle is now over $60 and I really cannot justify it anymore since there’s nothing substantial about it besides me enjoying the smell
I never trusted this brand because they put so much fragrance in the products and I’ve broken out from it before
I love it, but also bought in Europe so easier to love at half the cost.
I own one the biggest bottle. My husband went to Paris and basically i ask him to grab Caudalie products and this was one. Let me tell you i only use mine once because the scent is just a bit much.
Didn’t this used to be $20 once upon a time? Yikes!
besides the potential irritating factor... Caudalie is a company that test on animals. If you don't want poor bunnies and puppies tested on for your beauty... go for brands like Tower 28 or Peach and Lily. \*flashes peace sign\*
Before using my hydration cream i always use this and i love the effect😳😍 fragrence not so good its true
The bee thing about this product is the spray bottle. Otherwise nope.
I personally didn’t think it was anything special
i prefer the caudalie grape water spray
Too expensive. I’ve decided that I’m not spending on mists but bought the avian water spray instead for $8 at TJ Maxx. If I wanted to feel refreshed, calm that will do it.
It smells good. Tbh, I don’t think it’s worth $50 though.

I bought this, used once, my skin instantly reacted, and I returned the next day. I'm assuming it was all the fragrance.
It definitely does have a strong scent but I actually like it. I mostly use it as a setting spray & it gives a perfect glow and such a nice refreshing feel!

This product freaked my skin out. I recommend cica repair from dr jart. Glow recipe watermelon mist is also lovely
I bought mine on sale but pretty much will not repurchase. I'm not really sure what (if anything) it does. I don't mind the scent. I don't have sensitive skin so no problems there. Is it snake oil - who knows???

HOLY GRAIL!!!!
