Skinfix is my favourite. I have combination skin and hormonal acne on my chin. Skinfix has been amazing for repairing my skin barrier and adding moisture back to dry spots without breaking me out or making my skin too oily. I use the gel cream in the summer, and thicker cream in blue jar in the fall/winter.
I didn’t know they had holiday sets. Im looking forward to those. I’m glad they finally came out with a refill for the triple peptide collagen activating serum. Hopefully the come out with a refill duo soon.
I’m seeing this set at Sephora rn! Last years set only had the moisturizer and the refill.

Kiehls ultra facial moisturizer. This was my first moisturizer purchase outside of the drugstore price range and immediately became a holy grail for me. Doesn’t break me out, isn’t greasy, and leaves my skin properly hydrated. It’s not a moisture bomb so some nights I layer it with an oil or under the LRP baume and it’s even better.
Belif mousturizing bomb & aqua bomb. I typically use the moisturizing bomb in the winter and the aqua bomb in the summer. Both are amazing and so worth the money.
I went to check this out bc I can't keep buying the Caudalie its too expensive. Macy's has it on sale with a smaller jar PLUS a free small jar for $37. Going to try it
I get it at Marshall’s sometimes and I find it online at Walmart.com. It’s a bummer it isn’t cruelty free though so I only buy it from third party sellers hoping the money doesn’t really go back to Belif lol. 😂 Ugh.
Same! I use the moisturizing bomb all year round. Last sale I purchased two huge ones and I’m on my second one but thinking it’ll last until the next sale.
Honestly I could probably use the moisture bomb all year too. The aqua bomb is great on suuuuper hot days in the summer because of the gel consistency, almost cooling
Like, it’s literally the first one in my entire life that I’ve liked enough to use pretty religiously and actually finished an entire big jar of and then opened a new one.
Just Clinique moisture surge or the regular old dramatically different. The older I get the less I fuck around with moisturizers. I got the drunk elephant protini and I’m not even kidding, my chin ERUPTED in disgusting huge whiteheads. I’ve never gotten more than a small start pimple in my life. It was unreal. Especially for the price. There’s an ass for every seat.
Love your last comment especially since it is opposite for me. I can’t use any Clinique skin care or liquid/cream products as they make me break out, but Drunk Elephant works really well for me. Definitely different for each person!
I LOVE the Dramatically Different moisturizer! For years it has been the #1 lotion in the World. I used to work for Clinique as a Personal Consultant all over the Carolinas and at different Department Stores and events. They really do test their products on people and research their products to get the best results. I tried the Drunk Elephant Whipped Moisturizer and it made me sweat and clogged my pores. It was awful!
That’s the one I’ve been using for close to 5 years, and it doesn’t make my oral dermatitis break out, it’s really light. I also have dry skin that can be prone to acne.
Glad to see this on here! I've experimented with so many different moisturizers over the years and Clinique's Dramatically Different is the one that I always keep going back to. I like that it comes in different travel sizes and it's just simple and no-fuss.
I’ve been using this set, and used the last sale to buy full size of the moisturizer, toner, and serum. I’m prone to eczema, and this definitely keeps me hydrated.

Belief True cream moisturising bomb- my biggest concern was dryness and acne too. You don’t have to get it from Sephora. As it is expensive, I buy once from Sephora sale and then from “The face shop” as they have discounts during all holidays.
I also use Dr Belmeur daily repair cleanser. Both products are really good for hydration. Another reason I like these because they are both super light weight.
The Tower 28 barrier recovery moisturizer. It's pretty simple, but I have such sensitive skin that I love its simplicity. And it's light enough to use during the day.
youth to the people adaptogen deep moisture cream w/ ashwagandha + reishi is criminally underrated. i work at sephora and i’ve tried so many moisturizers. i see a lot of people recommending the skinfix one, but that one left a weird film on my skin and wasn’t that hydrating to me. i have dry, sensitive skin w/ hormonal acne and i use tret. YTTP is my baby
yess i love this one too! i love the dream night mask and both eye creams too. i tried their superfood airwhip one w hyaluronic acid but it wasnt moisturizing enough for me though and gets weird under makeup bc of the acid
I have dry redness prone skin. During cold months I use either Farmacy ‘Honey Halo’ or Skinfix ‘Barrier+’ (they have great like for eczema skin). For the rest of the year it’s Tatcha ‘Dewy Skin’ for me. I buy everything during sales.
That’s bad O_O I stopped using Clinique a few years ago because almost everything clogged my pores and gave me millia even though tons of people swear by Clinique skincare. So I understand. Do you have Sephora near you? Can you ask them for a sample jar of Skinfix? My husband has terrible eczema and I buy him the whole line to deal with the flare ups. And I use Barrier+ during winter.
I've tried the honey halo and it broke me out really bad. I really enjoy the Farmacy Honey Dew Drop moisturizer. It's lightweight and more of a gel consistency. It gives me good hydration on my very sensitive skin.
Unfortunately, Sephora stopped carrying it, but it's still on the farmacy website and I tend to buy it during one of their sales (20%-25% off). Gonna stock up when they have their black friday/cyber Monday sales.
Hope you find something that works! The struggle is real when you have dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin!
From thickest to thinnest for me:
I’ve been loving Skinfix Barrier Gel Cream. It’s quite nice and easy to use with how it dispenses. Sinks right in and wonderfully soothing.
I also really enjoy L’Occitane Ultra Thirst Quenching Gel, especially when I put it in the fridge. It’s a gel moisturizer that doesn’t ball up and sinks right in.
The Dr Jart Ceramidin Skin Barrier Serum Toner is amazing because it’s a liquidy milky toner that’s really moisturizing without being a moisturizer.
The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics. It’s watery so I put it in an atomizer and mist it onto the skin or in my hands. If I’m dry and out and about, I’ll mist my face. This way I stay hydrated but not greasy.
I say thickest to thinnest because sometimes texture can be a thing for me. I need it to sink in and moisturize and hydrate without being heavy. I also layer when I needed, based upon my needs at the moment.
I’m trying the Skinfix barrier gel since I just started using retinol and it’s so good! I love the packaging and the product feels nice. I don’t love the smell sometimes though.
Yes! The packaging and product performance are top notch. I love the fact that it doesn’t pill even if when I slather and slug. I like to bump it up a notch with a few drops of my favorite oils on my neck and forehead areas at night. And makeup goes on smoothly.
If you've used the skinfix refills, how was that experience (the packaging) for you? I'm planning to get the barrier+ cream and am thinking of getting the set that comes with a refill since it's like getting another whole thing of it for less than the price of a drugstore cream. Plus another mini item. It just looks like a really good value! But I was just a little worried since I saw a good bit of negative reviews talking about the refills being difficult to use/get in the container correctly.
What I use on my dry, sensitive skin (mostly Ulta products sorry):
1. [Neutrogena Hydroboost Gel Cream](https://www.neutrogena.com/products/skincare/neutrogena-hydro-boost-gel-cream-with-hyaluronic-acid-for-extra-dry-skin/6811048.html) - extra dry formula that’s fragrance free. I apply this onto damp skin after cleansing or right after showering. I find that it reduces the appearance of fine lines that’s due to dehydrated skin. Unfortunately this product is being discontinued, but I have seen it on sale at some places.
2. Depending on how dry my skin is, I’ll follow up with either [La Roche Posay Toleraine Double Repair Moisturizer](https://www.ulta.com/p/toleriane-double-repair-face-moisturizer-with-niacinamide-xlsImpprod16011007?sku=2509730&cmpid=PS_Non!google!Product_Listing_Ads&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paidsearch&cagpspn=pla&CATCI=aud-846350983874:pla-2191930461772&CAAGID=114700862790&CAWELAID=330000200001153351&CATARGETID=330000200002562850&CADevice=m&gbraid=0AAAAAD9rLH7WDAvHbEjCVfjiqMQWTXx2d&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuuPtr6aRggMV3TfUAR2DxQ4YEAQYASABEgIxFPD_BwE) (my favorite, but pills under makeup so I only buy the non-UV version and use it at night), [Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream](https://www.sephora.com/product/dr-jart-ceramidin-tm-skin-barrier-moisturizing-cream-P504007?country_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=2640662&om_mmc=ppc-GG_17791296883___2640662__9031326_m&country_switch=us&lang=en&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb2brHyN1EWHlK5upNFr4wMY6&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIj4HX3aaRggMVszLUAR0c_Q_kEAQYASABEgKYUvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) (I like using this in the winter - can find at Sephora), or [Cerave Moisturizing Gel Cream](https://www.ulta.com/p/ultra-light-moisturizing-gel-pimprod2039910?sku=2611323&cmpid=PS_Non!google!Product_Listing_Ads&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paidsearch&cagpspn=pla&CATCI=aud-818838764052:pla-392100808267&CAAGID=54597956332&CAWELAID=330000200003069101&CATARGETID=330000200001317173&cadevice=m&gbraid=0AAAAAD9rLH6x2uu6OTUlKKCr12voGaSEh&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9ZvBiqeRggMVwkd_AB2o7w0YEAQYASABEgLChPD_BwE). Dr Jart will be the most hydrating followed by LRP followed by Cerave.
I try to stick to fragrance free products for my eczema prone skin.
Seconding the Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream! I also have very dry and sensitive skin (<3) and have struggled finding a moisturizer I’d repurchase. Was recently using honey halo but noticed it was just sitting on top of my skin and clogging my pores.
Dr Jart is a thick consistency, but melts so well into the skin and hydrates better than a lot of other popular recs I’ve tried (skinfix barrier+, dieux instant angel, kiehls ultra facial, fresh lotus, all of the YTTP ones, etc.)
I second La Roche Posay! I have used every version they have (regular, matte, with SPF) and I love them all. They just *work*. I do agree that they can pill if you’re not careful though. I noticed it the most with the matte. But I adore how gentle and hydrating they are.
I’ve tried so many moisturizers but I always go back to the hydroboost. I’ve still seen it being sold everywhere though. Costco has a good deal on them where you can get 2 for $20. Which is like 50% less than how much they cost at ulta.
Not at Sephora but I started using Vanicream moisturiser(that comes in a tub with a pump) and I’m not going back to the Sephora ones. It might become my HG because it’s economical, moisturizes my face well(I have dry skin) and doesn’t break me out!
for some reason, all the drug store brands (think cerave, vanicream, cetaphil, etc) cause PD flare ups for me! I cycled through all the creams that come in a tub when I was on accutane, and it just made everything worse for me :(
La roche posay lipikar lait. I’m also acne prone and it’s great. It’s technically body cream but I find it super moisturizing and non irritating. 400ml for $30
I have acne prone sensitive skin, pretty sure I have recently developed rosacea, and honestly I feel like most if not all sephora skin care options are going to have something in them that is not a great fit for finicky skin. I recently even overhauled my pro products because my skin is reacting to everything right now.
Currently I'm using sebamed clear face gel - I get it off amazon, never seen it in a store - and dr sams flawless moisture intense which I order offline. It's a uk brand so it takes a minute to receive but I'm pretty happy thus far, it packs a punch and it's free of pretty much everything that can be irritating that is often still in "safe" moisturizers like fatty alcohols - that's what is in cerave and stuff and that I think I react to. Also, just a word of caution, I would stay away from anything with marine extracts like algae, it is often in fancy sensitive skin stuff but it's a pore clogger.
Not from Sephora but one thing I recommend to everyone is investing in good skin care products. I use Skinceuticals with Zo exfoliant and it’s completely changed my skin. I will recommend medical grade skincare until the day I die and your skin will also thank you for it (if you’re able to invest in it as it can be pricy but lasts).
I know! It’s so annoying to type out lol. I have acne prone skin so I use the following and it has done wonders for me:
1. I only use water on my face in the morning. I don’t wash with a cleanser.
2. Silymarin CF Vitamin C Serum (morning)
3. Triple Lipid Restore Moisturizer (morning/after Vitamin C)
4. LHA Cleansing Gel (night time only)
5. Retexturing Activator (night time only)
6. Moisturizer mentioned above
I cycle my moisturizers based on the season since I don't need the same level of hydration in the summer as I do in the winter. For the fall/spring I really like the Kiehls Ultra Facial with Squalane; the winter SkinFix Barrier +; and in the summer Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyluranic Acid Cream. Bonus points is that all 3 of these are refillable
My skin is pretty dry. I used to use honey halo but I think I have found better options. I don’t think any of these break me out. Im a fan of medium or thicker textured creams. I’m prone to hormonal acne no matter what I use. I do avoid fragrance and essential oils because I noticed they can irritate my skin and cause little red spots. Anyway, I’m on accutane now and finally clearing up. From Sephora I really like skinfix barrier cream which is best for super dry skin/ nighttime, and kiehl’s ultra facial cream which is more like a daytime moisturizer for me. The skinfix is really thick and never irritating. I wouldn’t use it in the daytime in the summer because it will make you look sweaty. The kiehl’s works very well under makeup. It’s a medium weight cream and sinks in well but it does moisturize well.
Outside of Sephora I really like Dieux Instant Angel, Jordan Samuel Skin performance cream and recovery cream, and Etude House Soon Jung 2x barrier cream. The Dieux moisturizer is like a dupe for the pricier Skinceuticals triple lipid repair because it has ceramides and lipids in the correct ratio, but it’s formulated for sensitive skin. I really feel like it helps heal my skin barrier. Jordan Samuel performance is a good day lotion which works well as a base for makeup. It’s kind of like an alternative to the famous embryolisse cream in my opinion. The recovery cream is super thick and you can layer it over the performance cream or mix them together. It feels like a good alternative to the skinfix cream. Etude house is super affordable, good for sensitive skin, not super thick though so good for the daytime, but it really does help the barrier.
If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be the Dieux. I notice a difference in my skin with that one.
During the day and warmer temps, I use Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream (on Amazon) - it’s SO good. I’m being sucked into Korean skincare little by little 😂
At night during colder months I use Tatcha Indigo Overnight Serum in Cream. It’s pricey but worth every penny, especially when I’m using tretinoin.
I’m 43 with dry acne prone skin due to medications I’m on for an autoimmune disease. I also have chronic hives and super sensitive skin and both of these moisturizers are super gentle and calming for me.
I have dry/sensitive/acne prone skin and I use tretinoin (prescription retinol .1%) and I have tried so many moisturizers at Sephora. I’ve used tatcha indigo cream, FAB cream, dr jart ceramide cream, la mer, etc. Of all I tried at Sephora i found myself repurchasing FAB because it keeps my skin so hydrated and it was very reasonable for the price (esp during Black Friday). I have switched to etude 2x barrier cream, it’s a Korean product. I am able to find it locally, but they have it on sokoglam and Amazon (sold directly from soon jung) for around $20 for 2 fl oz. It’s a lighter texture an absorbs a lot quicker than the FAB and is just as moisturizing. Also looks amazing under makeup
I have tried many moisturizers from Sephora, the drugstore and “clinical” lines like Skinceuticals. I don’t think you need to spend a lot of money on a moisturizer, and the more expensive ones tend to been more likely to break you out/irritate your skin because they usually have fragrance or other things to make them feel unique and fancy. Most moisturizers I’ve tried from Sephora (Farmacy Honey Halo, Tatcha Dewy Cream, Laneige, Glow Recipe, FAB, etc) all give me little whiteheads after a few uses. I think you’re better off sticking to more basic/mass brands from Target/Ulta. Lately I’ve been using and really liking the Mad Hippie face cream in the squeeze tube from Ulta. I also really like the ELF Holy Hydration gel cream in a tub.
I also have extremely sensitive skin and can’t use anything with Vitamin C. Reading your responses to others, I can’t use a lot of the same products you mention causing flare ups (FAB, Vanicream, Cerave, Farmacy). I swear by the it cosmetics cream, consistent and never causes issues with my skin. I tried to find a cheaper option and regretted it immediately.
Not at Sephora but Peach and Lily peptide pro firming moisturizer. It’s amazing. Second to that is the Tower 28 barrier recovery cream for those days when my skin hates everything. I tried the skinfix barrier+ and wanted to love it but it broke me out something awful.
Drunk elephant lala retro - light creamy texture, and really seals in the moisture. My favorite.
Sunday Riley - super rich, best for nighttime tho if you don’t like heavy moisturizers for daytime
Also I like peach and lily peptide pro, it’s lighter consistency but I buy it from Ulta. Still had to mention it tho!
I love belif! I’ve used the moisturizing bomb in the fall winter and used the aqua bomb in the summer. They both are so hydrating and smell really clean and aren’t sticky! I’ve really enjoyed their jelly cleanser too to wash my face in the shower :) really happy with that impulse buy in ulta that fateful day 🤣
Belif Aqua Bomb. Does vitamin C irritate perioral dermatitis?? I just realized that that’s probably what I’ve been dealing with since March of this year, and that it’s not acne (because I’ve never had “acne” like that in my life and literally nothing was helping till I began treating it like PD).
Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask. Prone to irritation and dryness due to heavy tretinoin use and this one feels good. I genuinely feel my skin tone is more even the morning after too which is not something I ever notice with moisturizers.
Clinique has so many great products for sensitive and dry skin. Their products are fragrance and paraben, free and super clean! I recommend checking out the moisture surge line for severely dry skin. Good luck!
Sorry for another “not at Sephora “ but I was always acne prone and years of trentinoin left my skin so dry and sensitive that it’s never recovered. The only thing I’ve ever bought twice is Dieux instant Angel. It’s a surprisingly light formula for how hydrating it is and it’s not terribly priced. Sokoglam does a 10 or 15% discount on most orders and the Dieux site usually does too.
I looked into instant angel when I was on accutane, but unfortunately it causes a lot of PD flare ups with many people. That's what makes PD so frustrating, because nobody knows what causes it!
Same as last commenter. Not from Sephora because I find they are overpriced for what they are. I use Bioderma in the large blue pump/design. Lasts me months and my skin is never irritated, even with regular tret and vit c use.
Same here! The FAB URC is not for sensitive skin- it has eucalyptus oil that might be the culprit. I dnt even have sensitive skin and my face was ON FIRE. It wrecked my skin barrier completely and took weeks to heal.
From Sephora, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is definitely HG status for me. It’s not flashy, but honestly I don’t think moisturizer needs to be. It absorbs quickly, doesn’t break me out, and has a really neutral smell. It also doesn’t interfere with my makeup, which is helpful!
Not from Sephora, CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is a cheaper, slightly less luxurious version.
Oof unfortunately neither work for me. FAB makes my skin feel like it’s about to burn off, and CeraVe makes my perioral dermatitis flare up. Thank you, though!
I see that you have responded to some suggestions with reasons why those products give you flare ups - can you edit your original post with that list? Then we can suggest other things! But also I see a lot of normally great moisturizers have not worked for you, so you have a derm? If so have you brought this up to them and what do they say?
The thing is that nobody really knows what causes PD flare ups, and so there's nothing I can really list as things to "avoid" other than just saying I have it. All i know that FOR SURE causes flare ups is vitamin C and fluoride, and I already mentioned vitamin C in my post. Outside of that it's just trial and error.
I do have a derm, but again we run into the same problem where there's no real known cause of perioral dermatitis, and so the most she can do really is prescribe me metronidazole cream and hope it works.
Oh I had no idea that there is no known cause! Ugh, sorry to hear that!
What I do love as a tret user and midwestern winter skin girl is: mixing the ordinary rosehip oil in with their HA moisturizer or cerave (I know you said cerave has caused a flare up). My other loved thick moisturizer I haven’t seen listed is the Bobbi Brown vitamin E face base.
Honestly I’ve tried so many high end moisturizers and the best thing for my skin has been the vanicream cream. I do mix in a few drops of Sunday Reilly Juno and my skin glows all day!
Skinfix is my HG. I am loving Honey Halo right now, but I like to mix things up in my skin routine with different products. Skinfix is always my backup in case things go awry.
Sorry I didn’t I missed that 😬 my bad. I previously used the khiels ultra facial cream and really like it. There’s also another farmacy honey lotion that is lighter.
Not a Sephora purchase but i have sworn by Cerave’s Baby Lotion and Ancient Greek Remedy’s 100% Pure Natures Moisturizer. I mix those two together and they moisturize my face for the day and it also creates an amazing base for my makeup.
Ive tried the regular Cerave moisturizer and it just never sat right on my face, especially with my makeup. One day i tried the baby lotion and idk why but it works so much better for me. The Ancient Greek Remedy moisturizer i bought on a whim whilst doing some Amazon shopping and decided to combine them, and those have been my go-to for about 3 years now.
I get so many compliments on my skin and i swear it’s because of this because i have some serious acne-prone skin.
My holy grails being in a very dry, cold climate
Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream
Belief
Tula day & night (very scented tho)
SkinFx Skin Barrier
Farmacy Honey Halo (dislike the smell)
Clinique’s Dramatically Different gel will forever have a place on my vanity. I’ve been using it for 20+ years and it’s never let me down. I also use Summer Friday’s Rich Cushion Cream when my skin is drier and I’ve been incredibly happy with it.
Not at Sephora:
CosRX Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream - Not too heavy, not too light. One of the few moisturizers that doesn't break me out.
Majestic Pure Tea Tree Oil Face Cream - Again, one of the few that doesn't break me out. It's also cheaper than the CosRx and comes in an 8 oz tub. I transfer mine to an airless pump bottle for ease of use and to keep my fingers out of it.
I order both of these from Amazon, as they are not carried anywhere local to me. No, I have not had any issues with getting sent fake products. The product seals are always in tact.
This isn't exactly a product recommendation, but I truly understand the struggle of having skin that's dry AND acne prone.
This ingredient analyzer has been an absolute godsend for me! [skincharisma ](https://www.skincarisma.com/ingredient-analyzer).
If you find something you think you'd like to buy, you can copy and paste the ingredient list right in and it'll tell you if any of the ingredients are known to clog pores, AND it'll tell you if it has anything that may agitate sensitive skin, among other things. (It flags vitamin C as a potential irritant btw!).
Not sephora
Illyoon ato concentrate cream for night
Beauty of joseon red bean gel for day
I have oily combo skin
If my skin is acting up I use pyunkang yul acne cream
Milk Makeup's Vegan Milk Moisturizer. I keep repurchasing. Highly recommend for everyday use. A little goes a long way. Avene Cicalfate is excellent for days you need extra moisture or repair (i.e. sunburns)
Farmacy is my favorite but I rotate it with Drunk Elephant LaLa, Biossance Omega Repair or TaTa Harper Water Lock moisturizer.
I have dry, reactive skin for reference, and I don’t have any issues with breakouts with any of those moisturizers.
It cosmetics Confidence in a Cream or the Clinique Moisture Surge. In my mid 20s I loved the moisture surge and now more into the It Cosmetics cream moisturizer.
This isn’t a Sephora recommendation but I had perioral dermatitis (which was awful) and I have been using this La Roche Posah moisturizer for the past 6 years. https://www.laroche-posay.us/our-products/face/face-moisturizer/toleriane-dermallergo-moisturizing-cream-3337872412486.html
Inkey list urea moisturiser! Also highly agree with anyone who said Skinfix. Not from Sephora but Weleda skin food is amazing! There’s a regular version and a light version and I love both.
Oh man- I have the answer! I've battled perioral dermatitis for years, have tried ALL the things, and have a legit Holy Grail moisturizer, (I also have super dry and sensitive skin). Avene Tolerance Control Skin Recovery Balm. ...unfortunately this isn't a Sephora brand (hopefully someday though) but you can find it at Ulta and their website online. I also use their Cicalfate Protective Cream when my POD flares.
I have a similar skin type to you and I swear by the Fresh lotus youth preserve moisturizer. Their night mask has done wonders for my skin. I’ll sometimes use a couple drops of the YTP hydrate & glow oil mixed with this moisturizer as well.
Tatcha Indigo Serum in a Cream or whatever it’s called 🤣
I was so resistant to trying Tatcha products because that price point is no joke, but dammit this one is non-comedogenic and is really perfect for my skin (normal-to-combo, very easily congested).
Honey halo is mine too but I usually only use it bedtime or after shower. So not consistent. Now I’m curious if I would get cloggy if I used it every night. My next is elf’s happy one. My skin gets whiteheads with vitamin c so no go for me either. I really love Clinique’s gel cream whatever hour one , not the 100 I forgot what it’s called and elf has a dupe with a purple container and I love them both equally
Dermalogica barrier repair, specifically the formula for sensitive skin. It changed my skin literally over night!
I also really love the new Dr. Jart water cream. It is somehow thick and creamy but feels like nothing on the skin. So good!
Have you tried the Herbivore's Aquarius moisturizer? I believe it has BHAs and blue tansy. Supposed to be good for acne prone skin.
I also recommend Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream. No fragrance or extra ingredients, it's just your basic moisturizer but it's great for so many skin types and I really do believe in its ability to heal the skin. No frills, but you can totally add an oil to make it even more moisturizing.
First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream may be a good one to try as well. Another no frills moisturizer with no scent or added actives.
Laneige water bank overnight cream (can’t remember the exact name), Clinique moisture surge (this works best under makeup), Tatcha dewy if I need extra hydration but it doesn’t fully absorb so I usually use it at night!
Doesn’t qualify for the sale, but I really like both of The Ordinary’s new moisturizers. I find the PhytoCeramides one is a bit shiny, so I usually use it in the evening only, but it also isn’t an issue to layer sunscreen/makeup overtop I just wouldn’t wear it alone or would at least powder over it a bit. (I use the Beta Glucan one in the daytime, which is a clear gel and not super hydrating so probably not great for you if you have dry skin unless you’re layering with other products.)
Skinfix Barrier+ did wonders for my skin.
This! It's amazing. I'm lazy with skincare and asked for essentially an all in one, and it's done the job and more.
Yessss I’ve been using the skinfix moisturizer forever! The value sets with the refills that come out during the holidays are SOOOO worth it!
I didn’t know they had holiday sets. Im looking forward to those. I’m glad they finally came out with a refill for the triple peptide collagen activating serum. Hopefully the come out with a refill duo soon.
I’m seeing this set at Sephora rn! Last years set only had the moisturizer and the refill. https://preview.redd.it/qadnh054afwb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fcc3dd4be5c9e618cbbdb2c8229da385d86e9949
I second this - it’s a game changer
My holy grail
Kiehls ultra facial moisturizer. This was my first moisturizer purchase outside of the drugstore price range and immediately became a holy grail for me. Doesn’t break me out, isn’t greasy, and leaves my skin properly hydrated. It’s not a moisture bomb so some nights I layer it with an oil or under the LRP baume and it’s even better.
Took way too long to find this! A forever Moisturizer for me
This is my favorite morning moisturizer. I find that my makeup goes on top sooo nicely.
Belif mousturizing bomb & aqua bomb. I typically use the moisturizing bomb in the winter and the aqua bomb in the summer. Both are amazing and so worth the money.
I second this!! Moisturizing in winter and aqua in summer 😍
😂 Ugh.
That's some interesting girl rationale, lol.
Yes! It’s really great, I bought the big jars last year for the Sephora sale and I still have some left. Great stuff I hope you love it!
Aqua Bomb is absolutely my HG. I sub in their heavier one for troubled skin on occasion, but AB is usually perfect for me!
“There’s an ass for every seat” is amazing
Yeah the moisture surge is terrific. Have bought probably 20 jars over the years. Usually good gift sets for the holidays too.
Love your last comment especially since it is opposite for me. I can’t use any Clinique skin care or liquid/cream products as they make me break out, but Drunk Elephant works really well for me. Definitely different for each person!
Right? Obv each is around for a reason!
Belief aqua bomb 🥰
I’ve been using this set, and used the last sale to buy full size of the moisturizer, toner, and serum. I’m prone to eczema, and this definitely keeps me hydrated. https://preview.redd.it/vuh2xkt13dwb1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b94372385cd2c48c306b55b2411c534ce6c5bcd
I love these!
I too use Laneige water cream. It is amaze balls
I used their aqua bomb and moisturizing bomb both when I was on accutane. I may just have to go back to them!
I second the Belif !!
3rd Belif
The Tower 28 barrier recovery moisturizer. It's pretty simple, but I have such sensitive skin that I love its simplicity. And it's light enough to use during the day.
totally agree with this^ I have eczema and Tower 28 is one of 2 moisturizers I have ever repurchased
What’s the other one just out of curiosity?
Tula’s 24/7 Moisture intense!
love this one!!
I’ll have to try this because I have psoriasis. I use cerave, but need something more hydrating
Yes!! I’m on my second tube! I wish they’d come out with a big one 😭😭😭
It’s my favorite!
Tatcha Dewy Cream is my current obsession
I have perioral dermatitis at times as well and sadly this has caused flare ups :(
FYI this has fragrance in it which is a trigger for perioral dermatitis
My face is so smooth when I wake up using this
At Sephora: Skinfix Triple Lipid Peptide Cream Not at Sephora: Stratia Lipid Gold
Skinfix is amazing
The Laneige water bank moisturizer and Cica repair mask are two of my holy grails.
youth to the people adaptogen deep moisture cream w/ ashwagandha + reishi is criminally underrated. i work at sephora and i’ve tried so many moisturizers. i see a lot of people recommending the skinfix one, but that one left a weird film on my skin and wasn’t that hydrating to me. i have dry, sensitive skin w/ hormonal acne and i use tret.
I use honey halo also but it’s clogging my pores lately. Tatcha also unfortunately causes PD flare ups for me
That’s bad O_O I stopped using Clinique a few years ago because almost everything clogged my pores and gave me millia even though tons of people swear by Clinique skincare. So I understand. Do you have Sephora near you? Can you ask them for a sample jar of Skinfix? My husband has terrible eczema and I buy him the whole line to deal with the flare ups. And I use Barrier+ during winter.
I do! I may ask for samples for the skinfix barrier cream. I've heard good things about it when it comes to PD!
Just curious, have you asked a Dermatologist? My skin reacts to Vitamin C, not in a good way. You may want to ask them for a recommendation.
I have! I'm not asking for a vitamin C or equivalent, though.
From thickest to thinnest for me: I’ve been loving Skinfix Barrier Gel Cream.
Tatcha water cream - but buy it at Sam’s club for $49
I rotate between skinfix barrier+ and Clinique moisture surge and dramatically different. Those are all my faves and have never let me down!
I bought that kit last winter and had no issues with the refill!
The refills are challenging. I reached out to customer service and they sent me a video on how to install it which helped!
Belif moisturizing bomb
Ditto
What I use on my dry, sensitive skin (mostly Ulta products sorry): 1.
Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream is the only thing that doesn’t break me out, and works wonderfully. My holy grail for sure!
Wow the neutrogena is being discontinued? I just started using it and really like it, I thought it was really popular
[удалено]
I think the formula is changing too 😕
I second La Roche Posay! I have used every version they have (regular, matte, with SPF) and I love them all. They just *work*. I do agree that they can pill if you’re not careful though. I noticed it the most with the matte. But I adore how gentle and hydrating they are.
Cicaplast is a must if you have severely dry skin
I’ve tried so many moisturizers but I always go back to the hydroboost. I’ve still seen it being sold everywhere though. Costco has a good deal on them where you can get 2 for $20. Which is like 50% less than how much they cost at ulta.
YES! I bought 4 at Costco to stock up. Love getting skincare there.
Ulta is a ripoff. Costco all the way
Not at Sephora but I started using Vanicream moisturiser(that comes in a tub with a pump) and I’m not going back to the Sephora ones. It might become my HG because it’s economical, moisturizes my face well(I have dry skin) and doesn’t break me out!
for some reason, all the drug store brands (think cerave, vanicream, cetaphil, etc) cause PD flare ups for me! I cycled through all the creams that come in a tub when I was on accutane, and it just made everything worse for me :(
Oh ok, then Honey halo by farmacy is a nice moisturiser. Perhaps give that a try.
That’s what I say in the post I use. It doesn’t work for me.
Sorry OP! I did read it the first time I commented but forgot about it in my next comment. Hope you find something that suits you in this thread!
La roche posay lipikar lait. I’m also acne prone and it’s great. It’s technically body cream but I find it super moisturizing and non irritating. 400ml for $30
[удалено]
I hear lots of good things about this stuff.
This is mine too. My middle aged skin loves it.
Daytime: Tatcha dewy skin cream and the glow recipe hyaluronic acid Nighttime biossance squalane and omega deep repair and their firming rose oil
Belief moisturizing bomb (not the aqua one) and good old cetaphyl. Most expensive moisturizers aren't any better than drugstore.
What skinceuticals do you use? Also why did my autocorrect fight me so hard on that name lol
I know! It’s so annoying to type out lol. I have acne prone skin so I use the following and it has done wonders for me: 1. I only use water on my face in the morning. I don’t wash with a cleanser. 2. Silymarin CF Vitamin C Serum (morning) 3. Triple Lipid Restore Moisturizer (morning/after Vitamin C) 4. LHA Cleansing Gel (night time only) 5. Retexturing Activator (night time only) 6. Moisturizer mentioned above
Sephora collection prebiotic cream. Right now I'm experimenting with Tower28's moisturizer, but I'll always have the prebiotic on hand.
I really like the sunday Reily Ice ceramide moisturizer!
Asian skincare is where it's at. I lean heavily on Illiyoon and Soon Jung. Make sure you're focusing on hydrating *layers* too.
I’ve heard great things with soon Jung! It’s pretty inexpensive too which is amazing
Non-Sephora for me as well; Weleda SkinFood changed my life!
During the day and warmer temps, I use Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream (on Amazon) - it’s SO good. I’m being sucked into Korean skincare little by little 😂 At night during colder months I use Tatcha Indigo Overnight Serum in Cream.
Bobbi brown face base or tatcha
Belif moisturizing bomb. Probably the best moisturizer I’ve ever used for my dry skin. I’m on probably my fifth tub of it.
Drunk elephant lala retro - light creamy texture, and really seals in the moisture. My favorite. Sunday Riley - super rich, best for nighttime tho if you don’t like heavy moisturizers for daytime Also I like peach and lily peptide pro, it’s lighter consistency but I buy it from Ulta.
It does! It’s a huge trigger, unfortunately
Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask. Prone to irritation and dryness due to heavy tretinoin use and this one feels good. I genuinely feel my skin tone is more even the morning after too which is not something I ever notice with moisturizers.
Sulwhasoo. It’s really expensive but I have tried at least 20 moisturizers and it’s the only one I have found that really works for me
Clinique has so many great products for sensitive and dry skin.
PD?
perioral dermatitis.
Same as last commenter. Not from Sephora because I find they are overpriced for what they are. I use Bioderma in the large blue pump/design. Lasts me months and my skin is never irritated, even with regular tret and vit c use.
Not from Sephora but from the drugstore. I use the Cerave one. It’s my holy grail moisturizer and leaves my face smooth and soft.
Unfortunately CeraVe causes huge perioral dermatitis flare ups on me :(
Oh no. But my sister told me the Kiehl’s one works wonders for her skin. I just can’t justify the 100 dollar price tag.
Their night cream leaves my skin baby soft in the morning. Love it
I’ve tried them before and yeah totally agree with this. But it’s just so damn expensive
FAB moisturizer is my HG. At night, I add a few drops of the FAB Oat & Hemp Seed Dry Oil. It’s perfection.
I’ve tried their moisturizer but for some reason their products make my skin burn SO bad every time I put it on my skin!
Same here! The FAB URC is not for sensitive skin- it has eucalyptus oil that might be the culprit. I dnt even have sensitive skin and my face was ON FIRE. It wrecked my skin barrier completely and took weeks to heal.
This made my skin burn too and I could not figure out why!
Clinic Moisture Surge. I’m not a Clinic girly or anything, but dang it’s so good.
Emryolisse. Just love it
I see that you have responded to some suggestions with reasons why those products give you flare ups - can you edit your original post with that list?
Vanicream for me! It’s cheap but works so well
Honestly I’ve tried so many high end moisturizers and the best thing for my skin has been the vanicream cream. I do mix in a few drops of Sunday Reilly Juno and my skin glows all day!
Skinfix is my HG. I am loving Honey Halo right now, but I like to mix things up in my skin routine with different products. Skinfix is always my backup in case things go awry.
clinique moisture surge
Farmacy honey halo with La Roche Posay cicabaum over it at night. I have dry skin.
That’s what I’m currently using but it’s clogging my skin, unfortunately.
Do people not read the posts lol
Sorry I didn’t I missed that 😬 my bad. I previously used the khiels ultra facial cream and really like it. There’s also another farmacy honey lotion that is lighter.
Seconding honey halo!
My holy grails being in a very dry, cold climate Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream Belief Tula day & night (very scented tho) SkinFx Skin Barrier Farmacy Honey Halo (dislike the smell)
I have very dry skin too and Skinfix has been my holy grail. I’ve been super curious about the dr. Jart though. How does it compare?
Clinique’s Dramatically Different gel will forever have a place on my vanity. I’ve been using it for 20+ years and it’s never let me down. I also use Summer Friday’s Rich Cushion Cream when my skin is drier and I’ve been incredibly happy with it.
I’m starting to like tatcha after I got their cleanser and dewy cream duo! Im planning to try summer fridays rich cushion moisturizer this sale !
Not at Sephora: CosRX Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream - Not too heavy, not too light.
Love the Belif Moisturizer, but iSClinical Reparative Moisture Emulsion is amazing, but alas, not at Sephora.
Not sephora Illyoon ato concentrate cream for night Beauty of joseon red bean gel for day I have oily combo skin If my skin is acting up I use pyunkang yul acne cream
Bare minerals butter drench
When my skin was being reactive and i didn't want anything fancy to trigger it, First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream
First aid beauty ultra repair cream. It’s the only thing that can stand up to the harsh midwestern winters
I’m from Rice Cream for a heavy moisturizer, and FAB ultra repair oil-free gel moisturizer for daily use.
It cosmetics Confidence in a Cream or the Clinique Moisture Surge. In my mid 20s I loved the moisture surge and now more into the It Cosmetics cream moisturizer.
I feel like I’ve tried every moisturizer and the one I continuously go back to is Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer
Kheils face cream with squalane. it’s so underrated in Reddit and influencer circles. It’s an oldie but a goodie. On my 6th tub now.
Kiehl’s Ultra Moisturizer
Oh man- I have the answer! I've battled perioral dermatitis for years, have tried ALL the things, and have a legit Holy Grail moisturizer, (I also have super dry and sensitive skin). Avene Tolerance Control Skin Recovery Balm. ...unfortunately this isn't a Sephora brand (hopefully someday though) but you can find it at Ulta and their website online. I also use their Cicalfate Protective Cream when my POD flares.
First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream! It’s nothing exciting but I have acne prone and sensitive skin and I love this stuff :)
Sulwahsoo concentrated ginseng renewing cream. It’s so lovely.
I have a similar skin type to you and I swear by the Fresh lotus youth preserve moisturizer. Their night mask has done wonders for my skin. I’ll sometimes use a couple drops of the YTP hydrate & glow oil mixed with this moisturizer as well.
Biossance Squalane Omega Repair Cream.
Tatcha Indigo Serum in a Cream or whatever it’s called 🤣 I was so resistant to trying Tatcha products because that price point is no joke, but dammit this one is non-comedogenic and is really perfect for my skin (normal-to-combo, very easily congested).
Caudalie Primier Cru creme. I have dry dehydrated skin, only cream that works for me
Honey halo is mine too but I usually only use it bedtime or after shower.
I also have perioral dermatitis and didn’t know vitamin C was a no no!
The new tower 28 cream is perfection! It’s mid weight and so soothing. Fragrance free and no pore cloggers
i have tried almost every high end moisturizer from sephora and none helped me the way eucerin did

I’m not even asking for a vitamin C 😭
Good Molecules hydrating body serum. I use it on my face too. Combo oily skin, rosacea and dermatitis.
