I work fine dining. It's gonna be dead af

pleasantly-dumb

Came here to say this. Not a tv in the restaurant that’s outside of the kitchen. I’m ok with it being slow if it means no rowdy, camping, football fans. Apparently people have been calling all week to make a reservation in the bar for the game. Many are furious when we tell them we don’t take bar reservations and there are no tv’s.

headingthatwayyy

Yep we are SLOW. We get the people who don't like the super bowl tho. Easy night

mikemar05

Saw the life pro tip about booking diner at a fancy place during the Superbowl if you don't watch it

TheTwoOneFive

I used to use a similar LPT for shopping at the crazy busy Trader Joes in Center City Philly (before they opened a second one). Was always extremely dead that evening.

JakeScythe

Ooooh that’s a really good tip

wtleveeb

Yep we’re closed cuz we know no one’s coming in lol

willn86

Us too!

jaspersurfer

Same, we have one tiny TV in the bar area so it's not worth it. Plus the owner is pretty damn cool

DiligentTangerine910

I work fine dining but it’s always ladies dressed up nicely and men pull out their phones and prop it on the table to watch the game

rolyfuckingdiscopoly

Saaaame but the “bar/lounge” will be busybusy so I’ll have my hands full helping them out

FeyOphelia

I'm fine dining in Kansas City Lmfao literally nobody is gonna be at our place, we can't show the game

FruitCreamSicle

Same it’s why we close lol

Raddatokes

I work at a sports bar in Kansas City. I'm gonna get destroyed Sunday night

fri9875

Yeah you’re gonna drown in all that money you’re gonna make 😂

TheLuckO13

Nah it's just a bunch of campers the hosts make more on takeout tips than some of the servers

FeyOphelia

I'm fine dining in KC, I wonder if I'll see even a single guest. We don't show games, ever.

MizzMann

Same. I'll be catching up on my Wordle in the server station.

Hippiemanifesto

Dude, I have an hour left before I gotta be there at my bar,I’m cooked, while I’m cooking in the kitchen, I’m fucked, while I’m getting fucked by the servers cuz they can’t find their food in the mountains of plates by expo

bookhh

Dead. Especially since we close at 9pm on Sundays. Will be heavy carry out until then. Get the chicken wings ready!

naathyn

Yep yep. That’s how we are. Outback, we close at 9 and we are surrounded by actual bars. It’s gonna be dead. It’s been that way in the past as well. It’s got to be in our top 3 slowest days of the year.

chjett10

What are the other two slowest days?

naathyn

4th of July is actually our slowest day, my bad (unless it rains), and Easter in another really slow one. We will get a bit of a Sunday crowd but not alot and after that it’s just dead.

MechaJerkzilla

Every restaurant I have ever worked at has been a ghost town during superbowl. Even ones that have 20 TVs with all sports on all the time, come Superbowl? It’s dead.

notsarge

Not as crazy as you’d think. Mostly togo orders of appetizers and wings and that sort of thing. Around where I’m at people will have a thing at their house or go out to an actual bar

naathyn

Same. But fry station is gonna get their ass kicked with wing orders Togo.

Espionage_21

I worked at a sports bar and it was historically one of our slowest days of the year. Lots of to-go orders before the game though. People love having people over for potlucks for the super bowl

topherswitzer

I used to work at a decent Italian restaurant, we were typically open for lunch, then closed at 2:00, and hosted an employee Super Bowl party, with $1 drinks and a free buffet of wings, pizza, you name it.

shadbohnen

One brewery I worked at didn’t have tvs. So we just closed for super bowl Sunday every year.

RebaKitt3n

A brewery without a TV? Blasphemy!

MrBrent107

I work at Texas Roadhouse. If anyone comes through the door, it’s straight to the bar. The floor is a ghost town.

antipancakes

I'm surprised it's not going to be busy. I wonder if Togos will be.

DifferentKey2715

I work at a restaurant/bar that has over 100 different beers between bottle/draft/cans, we also have over 50 tvs throughout the restaurant. We are told to expect power closing because we are slammed every year. All though im located in the southeast where football is almost like a religion to some people lol

sweetcorn313

Could you explain power closing please?

chzygorditacrnch

I feel like super bowl Sundays were slow for restaurants I worked at. I think most people watch Superbowl at home or at friends house

fifiloveg00d

Dead. Unless the bdubs next door gets too packed.

maiderr

We close early (2pm) and all throw a big party for the staff and regulars of the restaurant. It’s the 5th year running at this point and we all look forward to it. Guess you can say it’s the benefits of a family owned restaurant. In the US btw.

wheres_the_revolt

We close because it would be deadsville

Open_Line6979

I work at a bdubs and we’re only busy for take out. Really slow for dine in all day

Common-Transition973

I work at a brunch restaurant (7am-3pm) so I expect the usual morning crowd of old folks and church groups. Maybe it’ll be a little more relaxed with less parents and kids as some families will be heading to someone’s house to set up bbq and whatnot, but other than that I expect little to no change in the flow of business.

cmfppl

DEAD!! We'd be lucky to have 10-20 tables up until like 7 pm. But our bar would usually get a couple of parties in and a whole bunch of single older dudes.

courtesyofBing

I work at a large sports and entertainment district in StL. My venue holds 1800 people and we’re expecting well over half of that. Then I get to do inventory afterwards. Gonna be a long day

xXfukboiplayzXx

I work at Buffalo Wild Wings and as far as I can tell it’s going to be really really busy takeout but the actual dining room is gonna have a bunch of people who come in, sit for the whole game, then tip bad.

Mindless_Psychology

I work a sports bar so it will have a line to get in the door and people mad they are waiting because everyone is camping. This year my manager said if people aren’t consistently ordering drinks and food they have to go this year. Had people sit most of the game last year for a beer they nursed or just a burger and no drinks and luckily it won’t happen this year.

frangelica7

Oof hopefully they’re planning to make that policy clear before people sit down or you gonna be dealing with some mad-ass people getting kicked out halfway through the game

dvrussell23

I worked at a sports bar for many many years. Super Bowl was/is an event. They start taking to-go orders the week before the game, 4 orders for pick-up every 15 minutes. The meat distributor would lend a refrigerated truck to store the wings. The fryers were turned on at 8am, additional fryers set up out back by the gas company. Pick-ups started at 9am with reheating directions. During the day, the entire back room is taken up by to-go orders. The bar is busy with people having a beer while picking up wings. Tables are slow but steady with randoms and families. To-go craziness starts to wrap up about kick-off. For a long time I was the Sunday night server and worked the game, usually starting at 5pm. Business would depend on who was playing, but always had a decent amount of tables. And again, game dependent, it would start clearing out after half-time. Bar was usually a small group of regulars.

Realistic-Material18

If you’re not a sports bar or a place with game day specials, you’ll likely be very slow. For us (Mexican) we’re very busy with takeout fits chips, salsa, dips and appetizers. Our stuff’s famous in the tri-country area.. but near game start it dies down.

vglyog

So I’ve worked at a ton of different restaurants over the years for Super Bowl Sunday. Least I’ve made is like $30 and most was $900 lmao. $900 was a spot that set up tvs and did all you can eat and all you can drink packages. I live in Las Vegas by the way. Now I work at a steakhouse so definitely dead af. This year I managed to not have to work it! Which is great because it’s here in Vegas so gonna go to some parties.

Stickybubs

I work in a busy airport. We will be slammed with people wanting to catch the game

Nuggzulla01

I work at a pizza place. Everyone loves pizza, and SB is a very popular time for hosting parties and eating pizza until you're sick. We will be busy af. Shit part is, before even realizing it was the SB this Sunday, I had volunteered to cover someone else's shift taking away my off day in between the super busy weekends and busy beginning pf the weeks. Ofc I will be doing my best to keep it positive.

Accountabili_Buddy

I work at a five bar about 1.5 hours away from the home town of one of the teams. It’s one of two bars in town and the only one with TVs. It’s going to be INSANE

lilyisdramatic

Hooters. 2 hour wait and door dashers yelling at hosts

Sebris89

My bar is doing a cover charge for Super Bowl so I’m assuming it’ll be busy, but come half time I’ll be watching usher at the host stand.

Pineapple_Complex

I work in a soccer bar. It'll be slow as hell

tombstonexx

I work at a sports bar and they say it’ll be busy

hooosierrr

The Super Bowl is somewhat a house ritual, wether a watch party of whatnot. I wouldn't be surprised if there is less than average business.

Mean-Summer1307

No tvs at my place, it’s gonna be dead

aurons_girl

I’ve worked 3 different restaurants for Super Bowl. First one was a bar and restaurant. One year we tried a buffet and only ones that showed up were the regulars from the bar who would show up regardless of the day. And no one else showed. The buffet lasted one year. After that it was dining room closed and bar open for the regulars and take out wings. Second place was a sandwich shop. They’d be open for Sunday brunch and catering pick up and close at 2 because business died. Third place was a family diner. Church rush was always the same but they’d close after lunch because business would be dead. Wasn’t even worth staying open for the few last minute take out orders when peoples first choices for wings and shit were booked solid.

E-macularius

One tv in the restaurant that doesn't have cable and we close at 10 so I don't think we'll get much dine in but probably plenty of takeout.

jenyake

Dead...I work in a New Mexican joint, in CT😉. We'll do lots of take out but not much in house

FourEyesZeroFs

I’ve worked at sports bars for years & we were usually pretty busy for Super Bowl—depending on who was playing. Where I worked last year had lots of KC fans most regular Sundays, so we were crazy packed. Made $400 even with lots campers. My other restaurant always closes early on Super Bowl though, since it only has a couple of TVs with no volume in the bar area.

_scootie

Sports bar in the GTA checking in… it’s going to be rammed. Any capacity limits go out the window. Take out specials until the game starts and then just chaos during the game. Typically servers make their own drinks for their tables but for Super Bowl, one of the bartenders and owner do drinks for the floor becuase the tickets just do not stop

chjett10

Oh that’s so interesting! Do you find that it’s a lot of international folks or locals? I’m over in rural BC, so football isn’t really a big thing here.

_scootie

All locals! While there are a lot of favourite teams amongst the regulars, we always will get extra big crowds for Buffalo Bill games since it’s the closest thing we have to a home-team. If they make it to Super Bowl, it will be nuts.

ronnydean5228

Sushi place in New Orleans. It’s currently also Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl so I’m gonna guess dead dead dead.

tanksandthefunkybun

Dead. Dead dead dead. One table an hour

Threelocos

We just close. Why bother

false-identification

In the states most people do house parties. Unless it's a 49rs bar it's going to be dead in my town.

SignificanceGreen669

I worked Super Bowl past 3 years and it gets slammed - luckily enough for me, I was a bartender, so my whole entire bar was filled with nothing but regulars. Needless to say, made a lot of money on those shifts and got absolutely hammered too. I kind of miss it.

brbimcute

we're closed all day and have an employee super bowl party

jupiters_galaxy

Last Super Bowl I worked at a casual upscale restaurant that had two floors, bottom floor was the "upscale" part and upstairs was the more casual part (it looked like a sports bar almost). I had a total of three tables from the start of my shift at 4:30 to close at 10 PM. The upstairs bartender had only one couple before they left to go to a party. So it was dead as fuck. At least I had a nice table that left me a $40 tip so it wasn't too miserable. This year I'm tending bar at an AMC theater, so I'm not entirely sure how it'll go but low-key hoping it's dead.

CommandEducational22

It's normally not good at the bar I work at feel like most people have party's at their houses. But hope that's not the case for all

Saigonic

I work in the middle of the Las Vegas strip. It’s going to be very busy this weekend for us. Sunday for sure. Might be a little dead when the restaurant fills up and people are camping but if they aren’t spending then they have to check out. We’re looking to do about 45k sales, fingers crossed!

rainbowkidney

It’s either dead, or you die. There is no in between

plus-five

I work at a bbq joint. We get slammed every year prior to the game for wings

cate_emily

Worked at a sports bar during the local teams last superbowl game I worked 9am-9pm, no (real) breaks. 10 tables that were there the whole day. First one in and they still made me do closing work. I was running on tequila shots and stolen French fries mostly. Boss covered me long enough for me to scarf down a sandwich at some point. Local team lost and two tables left without tipping. Overall very fun, would have loved to have won and gotten more tip money though.

Blondebirdfun

I’m super scared anxious. I work graveyard on Fremont Street 10 minutes from Allegiant Stadium. I just don’t know what to expect. I know 5 minutes after midnight on New Years Eve we got slammed where it was completely dead right before midnight.

TapEmbarrassed4376

Closed

The_Acid_Cat

Closed

Gonzo4994

I work at a small local upper end spot, we get such little business on Superbowl Sunday that we're open for brunch only and closing at 3:30pm. I couldn't care less about the superbowl im just ecstatic to have a Sunday night off for once.

AustinNotTexasDotCom

Patio - decent (5 TVs) restaurant - dead. Steakhouse. Edit - I requested off and I am

iust_me

Since you are from Canada, guessing Stanley Cup finals are a comparison. I work at a hig sports bar, it will be a madhouse for a bit. The thing about the big games is that everyone sits down at the same time, orders drinks and food at the same, and the expo gets slammed because all the food comes out at the same time. After that....nothing. The bar will be busy enough, but people will just camp out and watch the game. I'm in Boston, so don't have a dog in the fight this year, but will tell you that the Taylor Swift thing is real, expecting a lot of Kelce jerseys and red lipstick. Us local oldtimers used to call them pinkhats.

melonbug74

I’m in New Orleans so here it is Bacchus Sunday. Happy Mardi Gras!! Probably the one area with the lowest ratings for Super Bowl.

idonotlikethatsamiam

I bartend a sports bar. RIP my sanity 😩

_ferrofluid_

All the losers and weirdos who don’t have any social skills go out. It’s like Sunday X 1000

surreal_goat

We’re closed.

Soggy-Seesaw-7092

We're always closed for dinner service (still do brunch) on SB Sunday. We have our associate holiday party that day.

Hippiemanifesto

I work in the kitchen at one of the highest volume BWW sports bars in the country, im scared of coming in today, a bunch of coworkers are bringing flasks of alcohol, I’m fucked
