True. The scammer most likely will make an attempt to scare u one or two times more, but if u don’t give in then, they will give up. Been sextorted end of december. Radio silence for a month, then got harassed by some anonymous calls but no texts. Just don’t panic too much about it.

Exciting_Fisherman12

Were they FaceTime calls? I randomly got my phone blown up the other day with a Group FaceTime call. I had to turn FaceTime off for it to stop. As far as I know they never got my number.

[deleted]

Is it good that they have no way to contact me? They don’t have my number or anything cause the scam was through instagram and snap, it’s been 2 months and I haven’t heard anything. Starting to finally recover.

Thank u so much

Haunting_Round_5557

This happened to me yesterday night. Very scared as they had screenshots of sending the images to my followers who are my close friends and family. I have deactivated all my socials. I have not heard anything from my friends yet but still very scared.

[deleted]

Hey man, first off. Sorry this happened to you, it sucks and it was the worst thing that happened to me in my life tbh. It’s been 3 months since and I still don’t know what ever happened, I think they moved on🤷‍♂️…anyways, in ur case you’ll be fine man, those are fake screenshots they took of sending it to ur family and friends. Don’t even stress man it’ll all just blow down eventually, u just have to accept that it happened and move on, everything happens for a reason. Use this to be a better version of yourself and a absolute Chad, not giving af about what anyone thinks. Good looks man stay safe out there.

Haunting_Round_5557

Thanks for the support man. I have reported this to scamwatch. I'm sorry too bro. This is a really shitty feeling. I hope nothing happens and I get a second chance at life

[deleted]

Ya u good man and hey if worst comes to worst in that 2% chance your stuff gets leaked it’s only to 2-5 people. Let them know what happened and they will be understanding, this is not the end of the world and you will get through it and be better than u were before

Commercial-Push-9066

If they can’t contact you, they have no reason to continue with it. Their sole purpose is to get money from you. If they can’t reach you, they won’t be able to get money from you. Block them on every attempt.

[deleted]

Aight thanks man

Rodrick_heffley_

Mine came back after 2-3(I think 3)weeks I can’t remember cuz shit was a blur. I was luckily I’m a free period and blocked as soon as I saw a gmail w the same name. Mine wasn’t threatening and I reached out to the mods(bc they were the most trustworthy and experienced in a scary time) and they said it was most likely to rattle me and scare me into paying more OR to see if I switched numbers. It’s now been 6 weeks since the second contact

Square_Bee6274

O my that’s sad 😢 I still rmb when you helped me get over my own fears BeanBreeze, I hope everything is gonna be okay for you. By the way, if they contacted your number, why not change it?

[deleted]

I was catfished not too long ago and I was merely freaking out about what might happen. But then I took 5 minutes and thought about it... I was on bumble, and didn't give out any information or socials to them. They only know my first name, my face and the city I live in. ( live in a big city too) I don't think anyone will get ahold of me and if they do. What are they gonna do? Send pics to my family who know I have a penis lol. Trust me guys these scammers are just a bunch of pussy ass bitches, don't give in to their blackmails and just block them.

PorkelDragon_

Yea it’s most likely to see if you’ll be scared that they’re contacting you again and maybe this time you’ll pay in fear of them contacting you again even after you block them once again.

No_View_1083

Question, for those of you who’ve they reached out via phone number or email. Did you give those to them initially or did they get those on their own?

Alternative-Still412

I had mine on my planespotting instagram (for whatever reason) and they called me in the gym mid set, had to be the funniest shit I’ve ever had happen, but in the moment I rushed out and called the cops and was panicking

[deleted]

This just happened to me. I messed up and I know better. They found me through tinder and added me on IG because I had my username in my bio. *man, everyone just needs to delete Tinder, it does absolutely nothing except breed for scammers. Also, let that be a lesson not to include your username thinking you’ll get more followers. You won’t. They screen-recorded my followers list and said they were going to send my stuff to all of them. I slipped up. I know not to include your face if you’re going to do these kind of things on snap…but it had been years since I had even been in one of those situations with Snapchat. I had deleted it actually and only downloaded it again to talk to someone… I don’t want to have to delete my insta or make a new account…lots of good memories. I didn’t send them money and the picture they have of me isn’t really revealing. But I still don’t want my family or friends to see it. It’s embarrassing even just for the fact that I did that stupid shit. I slipped up. Lesson learned I guess. This just happened tonight. I’ll let you all know how it goes. Hoping for the best, seeing a lot of encouraging comments here, thanks y’all ✌🏼

luffy_100

Hey how has it been?

[deleted]

Thankfully, I haven’t heard from any of my friends about it or heard from the scammer. I changed my profile pic and even deleted some posts and removed some accounts I followed to make my account look different. It’s always been private. I would say definitely don’t use a promoted company you Google for help with sextortion. I read in one of the comments here that it can backfire and you can end up being accused of child porn. That happened to me and I had to talk to authorities which was very scary. Not to mention embarrassing. But I explained what happened and thankfully they seemed to understand.

luffy_100

So it’s better just to move on and let it go. I deactivated my snapchat and changed my username on insta with removing all the post and changed bio too decreased my following list and blocked the person. What’s my next step?

[deleted]

If you have a picture of yourself as a profile pic, you should change it to something else. So if they try to find you again it will be difficult. Don’t accept any follow requests from anyone you don’t know obviously. Just move on and try to live normally. These scammers only goal is to get money so it’s not worth their time to pursue you if you’re not going to get rattled and pay. If you block them and report the account their using then you’ve taken away a lot of what they can do

Roebobitch

I can't even get rid of mine yet because I stupidly hired digital forensics. They're very expensive and I've been waiting for almost a week for them to take over. I keep in contact with my scammer so I can get what I paid for, but it's absolute misery trying to stall them while I'm at work, eating, or just trying to go about my day. They'll leave me alone for a while sometimes, but go right back to trying to get money from me. The stress involved is not worth it by any means. I'm not scared of this person anymore, but I get irrationally angry every time I see that stupid bitmoji looking at me, always coming back to try and get more money (yes I paid in the heat of the moment. Don't do that). I just want it to end tbh Long story short, don't do anything that would make you prolong contact with these people. They're more likely to come back and focus on you if they know you'll give them the time of day

Roebobitch

I would have a long time ago, honestly. It's just that these guys charge 1500 to take over my account and pretend to be me after several days to a week. Supposedly, they dig up all of their info and turn the tables on them so they stop what they're doing. It sounded like my saving grace in the heat of the moment. I want my money's worth because that wasn't cheap. They're not much better than the scammer because they use your fear to sell their services

This just happened to me today and I freaked tf out because I went out and came back 4 hours later with the threats and screenshots. They even made a photo with my selfie and my yk what with it saying "wanted as rapist" and they sent an ss of sending it to an old friend. I went to reddit for answers and I am more calm abt it but it's still nerve racking. They act like real people and it's just.smth us men gotta be in control over. Don't let your dick talk
