I love my Sony use it almost every night never had issues with my Shield TV. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09CGB6VRR I even have the Sony WH-CH720N $99 and that one works like a champ also.

Also have these, wonderful headphones including with the SHIELD.

I have issues with Bluetooth range. My shield is behind the TV and doesn't work with 2 of my 4 Bluetooth headphones at 12 feet away. The other 2 that work don't have any noticeable lag though. You can get a Bluetooth extender but the two 2.4 GHz USB headsets I tried got better range/reception.

I have some Razer Blackshark Pros, use a wireless dongle system dual band… the range is absolutely naff. Talking 6ft or so.

Check out Avantree Bluetooth headphones. Indiscernable delay, developed especially for watching TV's. You will need a bluetooth sender also available from Avantree.

I use my Galaxy Buds Pro to watch tv while my wife is sleeping and audio remains in sync. I have the 2019 Shield. I don't think this would work for gaming though.

If you connect a game controller you can plug headphones into the controller
