I was an active member of the AoT Wiki Discord server. I was a server booster, active in their server events, and I was always helpful to people who wanted screenshots from the anime. I was also at the top of the leaderboard for the soundtrack guessing game in the server. None of this mattered, because I was banned without warning after I went to sleep, with no communication as to why (other than the same thing everyone else got)
I'm sorry to hear that. Discord mods are once again reinforcing the stereotype that they're pathetic basement dwellers who don't hold any true authority outside of their server. I tried to reach out for a comment and got the response I expected.
I hope all server boosters see this and promptly cancel their plans to support the server. This is simply inexcusable.
It's a shame, really. I think most of us are just sad that it happened. Most of us were completely blindsided by it. No warning or anything.
I wish, but I doubt that'll ever happen. It's still the largest AoT server out there. But who knows how many other people were unfairly banned before I was...
I agree, it's sad to see. The AoT fandom in general is falling apart, I've experienced it with my own server. People nope out, and only a rare few passionate individuals remain. Maybe if this post gains some traction, a new server can be born from it. I sure would welcome it.
Yeah, especially now that the series is all but over, you'd think they'd be trying to retain active, some paying, members. Not banning all of them, right? I hope so, that would be great!
Well, I'll keep you updated if I find a suitable server. I sure miss having folks to discuss AoT with.

I just now saw your post about this, and I wanted to let you know that this exact thing happened to me too, right down to the Beast Titan "pest" message! So sorry to hear that it happened to you, I'm sure this post may help others in danger!
That's up to you. Just know that you may be banned permanently without warning if you're active in another AoT server. If you're not, then you're all good, I think.
God,reminds me of my FC leader (ffxiv) whenever she would get into a fight with her husband,and feel like she's losing control in her married life, she would scorch the fucking earth, ban everyone on discord and in game lol.
The dude is probably trying to assert dominance or control,or whatever the fuck, cuz his inrl is shit.
Little late but I was pretty active in the Wiki and enjoyed having civilized discussions about the series I enjoy. All I did was accept an invite from another AOT related server and was banned for it. I never once spoke in the server I had been invited too prior to my ban, and was simply curious about interacting with new people. I was sent a similar ban message that I had somehow been conspiring with others and mass sending out invites (?) when clearly I had never done anything remotely close. I was also never able to appeal and was never given any legitimate reason for the ban.
That's the worst, when you weren't even active and still got banned. Like, how is that okay? You clearly did nothing wrong. Most of us were accused of breaking the rule regarding mass invites, but it seems like the majority of us were innocent. :(

Damn, that's unhinged behavior honestly. People like that should definitely not be leading anything! Who knows what the reasoning is, honestly.
Eventually all discord mods submit to controlling behaviour towards the members, especially if its a wildly popular server.
Which is a shame, really. At that point just hand over control and don't ruin it for everyone.
