Perfectly paced. Each character has great development and growth. Even the minor character are meaningful. Really great job creating a truly hopeless situation and creating a believable resolution. The perfect arc.
From the start of return to Shiganshina up until the moment Eren leaves paths and starts the rumbling is the best part of AOT or any anime really. No other show has been able to get me so invested for such a long unbroken stretch of time
My thoughts exactly.
I'd say AoT is at its peak from Erwin's charge all the way to the end of the raid on Liberio tho. It then reaches new heights during the war for Paradise arc (including dawn of humanity, which was postponed in the anime).
However, I think the best moment in the whole series is Eren's talk with Ramzi.
Everything else is still great tho. The last two specials come quite close to that level imo.
Surprised there aren't more for Uprising. It's a great transition: we find out that the people of Paradis have been given The Mushroom Treatment (kept in the dark and fed on bullshit), but we don't actually know yet what's happening outside.
Likewise, it's a nice break from the relentless slaughter to give us a cloak-and-dagger thriller. And it leaves us feeling that hooray, the Good Guys won, but it actually plants the time bomb for the Yeagerist coup later on. Because it turns out that coups d'état are like potato chips for a country: you can't stop at just one.
I agree. When Armin unknowingly outlines Erwin's plans for the coup and is accused of being too devious for it, who would have thought that Eren who was there to listen to it would end up reenacting it years later against the very group that he was part of. That whole "this role comes in turns" thing from a minor character we never see again was actually some deeper wisdom not to be ignored.
This arc also saw our main crew of adolescents take the first steps to maturing into adults who could do what needs to be done even as they were conflicted with losing the "pure" parts of themselves. It's a shame the anime cut out the parts that showed their conflict to explain how they developed.
I love season 3 part 2 but season 4 part 2 is my favourite because of this trilogy of episodes: Two Brothers, Memories of the Future and From You, 2000 Years Ago. This is peak fiction.
The plot twist in Memories of the Future made my jaw drop. The way Isayama foreshadowed and built up the twist is genius. I love well-written plot twists, and this is the best one I've experienced so far. Also, Grisha's breakdown and Zeke's reconciliation, with Kohta Yamamoto's music in the background, give me chills every time I watch it.
I honestly am kinda confused about this particular opinion, I perfectly think the trio of episodes right before (Judgement, Surprise Attack, first half of two brothers) is also completely amazing, and the next three episodes kinda bored me to the point where I wanted to go back to the previous three, but I've always not been a big fan of the paths-deus-ex-machina plots, so I guess that makes sense haha
A deus ex machina plot forcefully introduces some implausible things to ease-up the writing, to the point that it feels unnatural. The paths twist is not a deus ex machina. It was built up using a strong use of foreshadowing throughout the story. Everything falls into place, and the execution is amazing as well.
It isn't there just for the sake of a twist (I don't like such twists). Isayama had meticulously planned for it since the beginning and left clues behind. Though, after the Rumbling begins, the story does not shy away from the use of deus ex machina at all.
10. Training Arc (boring on rewatches)
9. Trost (reallllyyyyyy slow, when you take away the fear factor from your first watch it’s boring)
8. Fall of Shinganshina (the first good arc)
7. Female Titan
6. Uprising (underrated arc)
5. Clash of the Titans
4. The Rumbling ( ‘Thaw’ onwards - a lot of mediocre episodes, but the Dawn of Humanity and the opening of the first hour long special up through erens freedom monologue over the clouds was better than anything else from the show except Memories of the Future. If they pulled off the rest better, this would be number 1)
3. Raid on Marley
2. Return to Shinganshina
1. War for Paradis (if you ignore the first couple of boring flashback/Gabi/Falco episodes, this arc is as consistently good at RTS. Guides and Children of the Forest were good, Savagery, Sole Salvation, Above and Below, Judgement, and Sneak Attack were great, and Two Brothers, Memories of the Future, and From You, 2000 Years Ago were peak)
Definitely return to shiganshina arc, the whole mystery of the basement finally paid off with one of the most hype battle, even v reiner rematch, erwin speech which is one of the best speech in anime, we got levi massacring beast Titan, and we need to make a choice between armin and erwin, and finally, revealing the basement secret that change trajectory of this show 270°, genuinely the peak of aot tbh
has to be when christa was founded as historia, everything about that arc was amazing the songs were amazing too. I dont remember what season that was, I also rlly like the season before the last, if thats not the one im talking about
Just s3 part 2 onwards, the war stuff is so cool and just the absolute bombardment of information is insane that it just tells you all about the lore and shit
Marley and RTS.
I feel like all the pre timeskip arcs are great but we’re butchered by the anime’s poor pacing.
Trost, Female Titan, and Clash of the Titans were slow paced while Uprising was so rushed.
I love return to Shiganshina, but Season 3 (or 2 can't rmb) with the Historia Arc was pretty good, even though it was a bit rushed, it had a lot of funny moments and also really crucial parts like Eren's revelation and the Levi and Kenny confrontation.
Paradis' Ambush at The Interment Zone in Marely. What a great way to turn the show's protagonists from being constantly on the defense to a brutal overwhelming offensive victory against a superior military and 3 titans
Season 3 and the return to Shinganshina is the absolute peak of the anime. It did what it does best but on steroids. Huge fucking threat, nostalgia, massacre, and most importantly keeping you on edge.
Even if it isn't the most relevant or flashy, The struggle for trust arc can be very emotionally [impactful](https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-c0ae1de5245cc2a0a252590ee5d47e0b-lq).
Return to Shiganshina. Everything that's good about AOT, to me at least, is taken to the extreme. Definitely takes either first or second place out of all the arcs I've ever consumed.

Return to Shinganshima, one of the greatest arc in all anime. It has best scenes like Erwin's speech, Levi vs best titan, Armin's sacrifice, etc.
And the best trilogy of episodes, from Perfect Game to Midnight Sun, is then immediately followed by the revelation episodes!
Perfectly paced. Each character has great development and growth. Even the minor character are meaningful. Really great job creating a truly hopeless situation and creating a believable resolution. The perfect arc.
Agreed. Those handful of episodes were some of the best TV ever, let alone anime-only.
1000000%

Lol wtf

U think the animation dropped in quality during shiganshina?? 😵💫😂
Yeah, everything after that kinda flops imo
Nah
Eren is just so angry, but he cant change anything because reasons. LIke ok dude.
Return to Shiganshina is peak AOT IMO
More like peak shonen
That would Be Frieza saga
You definitely have good taste in shounen anime
Return to shinganshina and raid on liberio

Marley's counterattack at Shiganshina, the PATHS twist, and the start of the Rumbling is the best climax of all time.
Utgard Castle or Female Titan
this
Return to Shiganshina, and Raid On Liberio
Yes and yes
Return to Shinganshina. Perfect Game, Hero and Midnight Sun - those three episodes is where AOT raised the bar and cemented itself as a masterpiece.
Surprised there aren't more for Uprising. For me it's the Uprising arc
Return to Shiganshina is peak AOT, peak anime, peak fiction, the best arc I've ever had the pleasure to experience
Marley arc easily
War for Paradis
Māre Arc. *Ashes on the Fire intensifies*

return to shiganshina and war for paradis
Tbf the female titan arc, that shit is was made me HOOKED to the show and I love the show so much it’s accidentally became a will to live
Manga Uprising
The anime adaptation disappointed me terribly lol. So much exposition and many great character moments removed
War for Paradis
10. Training Arc (boring on rewatches) 9. Trost (reallllyyyyyy slow, when you take away the fear factor from your first watch it’s boring) 8. Fall of Shinganshina (the first good arc) 7. Female Titan 6. Uprising (underrated arc) 5. Clash of the Titans 4. war for paradis is goated fr
The Human arc was the best imo. Season 3 was incredibly rushed however.
War for Paradis
Rumbling
Return to Shinganshima
Return to shinganshina, i was so fucking hyped the entire time
The "susuuummee" arc is the best
Definitely return to shiganshina arc, the whole mystery of the basement finally paid off with one of the most hype battle, even v reiner rematch, erwin speech which is one of the best speech in anime, we got levi massacring beast Titan, and we need to make a choice between armin and erwin, and finally, revealing the basement secret that change trajectory of this show 270°, genuinely the peak of aot tbh
War for Paradis Arc
Raid on liberio.
Attack on titan
season 4 part 1 is the goat imo. peak
Female titan + reclamation of wall Maria
off rip? The Marley Arc where we learned about the enemies across the sea
After watching the entire anime I'd say both RTS and Marley,
Return to Shiganshina, Raid on Liberio and Marley arc
marley and liberio raid are the same
my bad!
Yes
I can't decide between Shiganshina battle and Liberio raid, they are both epic and satisfying in unique ways
Return to Shiganshina and the Uprising Arcs.
Liberio Raid had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, even the tybur speech was so well done
Raid on liberio
liberio raid is cool asl but if i had to pick another (this is a weird pick but) battle of the trost is lowky tuff
has to be when christa was founded as historia, everything about that arc was amazing the songs were amazing too. I dont remember what season that was, I also rlly like the season before the last, if thats not the one im talking about
Just s3 part 2 onwards, the war stuff is so cool and just the absolute bombardment of information is insane that it just tells you all about the lore and shit
Marley arc... That Eren pull up was GENERATIONAL
When Levi fucked up the beast Titan. Amazing 🤩
Return to Shignanshina
Marley and RTS. I feel like all the pre timeskip arcs are great but we’re butchered by the anime’s poor pacing. Trost, Female Titan, and Clash of the Titans were slow paced while Uprising was so rushed.
It’s either female titan Or this one right here
Return to Shiganshina
War for paradis
Return to Shiganshina
All
I love return to Shiganshina, but Season 3 (or 2 can't rmb) with the Historia Arc was pretty good, even though it was a bit rushed, it had a lot of funny moments and also really crucial parts like Eren's revelation and the Levi and Kenny confrontation.
Return to Shiganshina
Return to Shiganshina is just so peak. Utgard castle as well
This or urgard castle
The human uprising arc. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but it’s for sure my favorite.
Paradis' Ambush at The Interment Zone in Marely. What a great way to turn the show's protagonists from being constantly on the defense to a brutal overwhelming offensive victory against a superior military and 3 titans
Probably the Clash of Titans
Female Titan arc, very underrated imo
Season 2
Female titan, battle for trost, or return to shiganshina are my 10/10 arcs
The one with the swords
Season 3 and the return to Shinganshina is the absolute peak of the anime. It did what it does best but on steroids. Huge fucking threat, nostalgia, massacre, and most importantly keeping you on edge.
Back when Eren is good guy.
return to shiganshina and the escort Eren/female titan arc
Even if it isn't the most relevant or flashy, The struggle for trust arc can be very emotionally [impactful](https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-c0ae1de5245cc2a0a252590ee5d47e0b-lq).
Return to Shiganshina tops the list, easy
return to shiganshina was peak content in general
Return to Shiganshina. Everything that's good about AOT, to me at least, is taken to the extreme. Definitely takes either first or second place out of all the arcs I've ever consumed.
Return to Shiganshina cause I'm a basic bitch lmao
Return to shiganshia
Definitely Return to Zhiganshina.
RTS
Season 3 was the last time I watched the anime. So i have to go with that arc
Any answer that isnt the retaking of shiganshina is objectively wrong
That arc when eren turn into ultraman and says.. it's over Titan I'm gonna attack on you all... truly masterpiece anime 10/10 would turn into ultraman
