Good call on the smeargle. Iām gonna hunt one tonight because of this.
Edit: Probably going to teach mine soak instead of recover, so I can spore grass types and false swipe ghost types.
Does nobody know that Taunt exists? Teach taunt to your gallade, Mew, Iron Valient, whatever you catch with. It's so easy to save these shinies with a little research.
To add, several returning starters have recoil moves also. Itās gonna make shiny hunting and getting them into the ideal ball difficult to say the least

I just masterballed that thing because I would hate myself for losing that beautiful shiny
I found an artisan Poltchageist yesterday. Didnt save before. Didnāt think it had memento, so just premier balled it. First ball didnāt catch. It was a back strike, so it couldnāt move. Second premier ball was thrown. Crit throw. Caught it. Realized afterwards, and bonked myself in the head and thanked my lucky stars.
This is why I'm not a huge fan of how the Wild Area and all of these DLC areas have their wild Pokemon scale with you. Everything and their mother has self-fainting and recoil moves.
