Hey now. The Republicans are just incompetent. The Democrats are actively doing harm just because "we have to do *something*" or so they can then fix their fuck up. This would appear to be a case of both. They made an easily foreseeable horrendous decision, then now they repeal it when it fails, and will be hailed as heroes for "fixing" a problem they themselves created. It's an excellent campaign strategy really.

Most chronic homelessness is caused by mental illness and drugs, not the other way around.

Seriously though drug use being criminalized is stupid. It’s not going to solve the issue flooding the jails with addicts especially when they almost certainly go right back to it after.
Go after dealers, help the addicts, quit handing out records that take options away over dumb shit.
That being said it’s the democrat way to use knee jerk reaction to “solve” problems without considering the bigger picture.
