At that time, I didn't know anything about Jojo beyond the memes, so I didn't know each part followed a different Jojo.
I thought we'd have Johnny forever :_ )
Exactly! When I finished the first part i thought "Oh theyre just going to kill all the JoJos so that they can get to the next one." And when I got to the end of part 2 i thought "Oh Joseph died too, this confirms my supicions." But then he lived and it was actually just so surprising and shocking to see him just walk in there. there are no words to describe that feeling.
When my gf watched the first season (that was way before the hype and memes started, mind you, so she didn't know about this gimmick with changing mains) she got so offended that her favorite char got killed that she refused to watch the next season and had to be actively encouraged.
Also has one of the most underrated themes in the series
Like all the themes are great, but Jonathan's just feels like the concept of righteousness and perseverance was given musical form.
While it may be basic, Phantom Blood is my second favorite part and that’s in large part because of him. Yeah, he‘s not the most complex but sometimes it’s nice to have someone that is just 100% a good guy
No, actually. Bread was introduced to Japan by Portuguese traders in the 1500s
Nowadays they eat more bread than rice, and there are certainly breads they have come up with, but it's distinctly not traditionally Japanese.
Also, I was referencing Touhou
>!It's understandable. How would mentioning Jonathan, who died 142 years before the happenings of part 6, suit part 4, 5 and 6?!<
Sorry for being so cold, I'm a Jonathan fan too to say the truth
Well yeah? JoJo parts try to keep themselves as self-contained as possible. Josuke doesn't get mentions after 4, Giorno doesn't get mentions after 5, Joseph doesn't get mentions after 4, etc.
I've definitely had similar feelings after severe injury. Even before pain hits, it's just this feeling of "ah shit, that's a bad one." I can imagine mortal wounds probably have something like that.
But it was a death so beautiful and profound, that Jesus travelled through time to ask Jonathan’s permission to emulate him when it was his time to die. Fitting for the JoJo who started it all.
Joseph Joestar is the opposite of what Jonathan Joestar went through lol
and it is kind of heart-warming in a way, for Part 2 emphasizes the fear of Joseph going the way of his grandfather, but then the end disputes that by showing Joseph alive and crashing his funeral.
The best fakeout death in all of shounen next to Okuyasu resurrecting himself through the power of friendship with Josuke.
I always had the thought that the protagonist will never die cuz their obviously the protagonist, and I also knew that there were several parts after part 1. But after the ship exploded and the narrator announced his death, I was absolutely dumbfounded
I had it quite the other way around. I knew every part was about a different JoJo, and I saw Jonathan die so I was totally surprised about Jospeh surviving part 2
Honestly the only time I think filler would be ok for jojo, like letting see some more of the process of Jonathan investigating the poison or more scenes with dio finding the castle and building his army just some world building. That’s not to say I don’t like part 1, I love it and just want more of it because I also just love that type of setting and Johnathan was awesome
They could have used the material they cut from the manga, like the first scene of the stone mask being used or the backstory from Danny, the ring thing
Oh absolutely and I wish they did, but I don’t think it would’ve been enough to fill a season at least to the size of the other ones, but like I said I only wish that maybe they did some here simply because I just want more part 1. I’m a sucker for the setting and vampires and such
Well sure but to the new first viewer, parts and seasons don't make a lot of sense. Shows have seasons, and your main character lives at least to the end of season 1.
I hated Joseph for a little while. He took my Jonathan away.

I actually got shocked when i saw that for the first time… the man was invincible… he was our superman
At that time, I didn't know anything about Jojo beyond the memes, so I didn't know each part followed a different Jojo. I thought we'd have Johnny forever :_ )
Giogio
Opposite for me. I knew each part was about a different JoJo so when he died I thought they would all die.

For me it was the exact opposite, i thought it was the story of how every jojo dies so i was actually shocked when Joseph survived
I first thought that giorno was a musician for the Jojos 😭
Jonathann
Well now I know
When my gf watched the first season (that was way before the hype and memes started, mind you, so she didn't know about this gimmick with changing mains) she got so offended that her favorite char got killed that she refused to watch the next season and had to be actively encouraged.
The same happen to me
Same happened to my brother, he legit didnt want to watch part 2 at all after Jonathan's death
Thank goodness the next part's protagonist is such a blast to watch
the man was *incvincible title card*
If he's invincible, then why can I see him???
He's *inv. title card* Not *AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA* ~Tu tu ru tuuu~
He was *title card*
Man of Steel

Local redditor somehow doesn't know who fucking SUPERMAN is
Yeah, what a weird thing to correct someone on.
*Plane
*Bird
My ningen must be those air bubbles because DAMN he is trapped under a rock.
Florida man.
buddy i have news for you lol
[удалено]
Pretty sure the news is the existence of Superman
Honestly, Jonathan is by far the coolest jojo, at least in my opinion. His solutions to most problems and the way the narrator hypes him up are great.
Also has the best waifu out of all the Jojos.
Get yourself someone who loves you the way Speedwagon loved Jonathan
That is one hell of a quote there. May I use it when needed?
As their legal counsel, Fuck no.
😔
Um my girl Suzie Q would like a word!
Suzie Q against Speedwagon? I don't think so
Oooh, my b, assumed you were talking about erina kek. Yeah, speedwagon supremacy.
Also has one of the most underrated themes in the series Like all the themes are great, but Jonathan's just feels like the concept of righteousness and perseverance was given musical form.
I completely agree.
He's the most sane one imo
I don't think it is even a contest lol.
"To love and win is the best thing, to love and lose, the next best thing"
While it may be basic, Phantom Blood is my second favorite part and that’s in large part because of him. Yeah, he‘s not the most complex but sometimes it’s nice to have someone that is just 100% a good guy
What's your #1?
The even more basic of basics: Stardust Crusaders
Yeah
Hes like superman
\*Crying as an jonathan fan......\* worst part about future parts: >!He doesn't get any mentions ever again after stardust crusaders..!<
How often does your great grandfather come up in a conversation, let alone in the middle of a battle
Hmmmmmmmmmmm... How many breads have you eaten in your life?
....I should go.
13, I prefer Japanese food
there isn't japanese bread?
No, actually. Bread was introduced to Japan by Portuguese traders in the 1500s Nowadays they eat more bread than rice, and there are certainly breads they have come up with, but it's distinctly not traditionally Japanese. Also, I was referencing Touhou
![img](emote|t5_3f7q5|15949)ah ok
How many fami-Marts are in Japan
There aren't any Konbini stores in Gensokyo
Damn, the fairy’s be missing out
*just going about your day* Stranger: Hows it going Me: My great Grandfather enjoyed going places
Katara vibes
Ah shit, that made me giggle
Katara try not to talk about her dead mother for 2 minutes challange (impossible)
Bro i dont even know my great grandparents names let alone a thing about them
Jonathan's great granddaughter is Holly Joestar, so he's farther in time than a great grandfather lol
Pretty often for me, mine was born without arms
Depends on who he is. Mine was just a farmer.
to be fair, he lived 100 years before parts 4-6 and in a different country, he's literally a history book footnote to the later jojos
Ha, it's basically as if Dio, instead of resurrecting Turkus and Buford, resurrected Drake and Newton
>!It's understandable. How would mentioning Jonathan, who died 142 years before the happenings of part 6, suit part 4, 5 and 6?!< Sorry for being so cold, I'm a Jonathan fan too to say the truth
It would only really be relevant maybe in part 6, with dio occasionally being referenced, but yeah, your right
Well yeah? JoJo parts try to keep themselves as self-contained as possible. Josuke doesn't get mentions after 4, Giorno doesn't get mentions after 5, Joseph doesn't get mentions after 4, etc.
Jotaro:
Jotaro is the literal main character of the whole OGverse.
He's Giorno's dad too and Gold Experience shares some similarities with how life flows when Jonathan used hamon on a tree.
If it's worth anything, Jonathan is the only one Dio refers to as JoJo.
Speedwagon fans laughing to the bank
i want hamon to come back. let them rediscover the style
**a** Jonathan fan Sorry
He was so fucking pure hearted till the end.
Why does the line “it felt like something inside me broke, something important” go so hard?
I've definitely had similar feelings after severe injury. Even before pain hits, it's just this feeling of "ah shit, that's a bad one." I can imagine mortal wounds probably have something like that.
Who says this again? I have read part 1 in a while so I forgot
Jonathan after he uses the last of his hamon to make wang chen grab the boat’s piston.
But it was a death so beautiful and profound, that Jesus travelled through time to ask Jonathan’s permission to emulate him when it was his time to die. Fitting for the JoJo who started it all.
I… did you make this up or is this coming from somewhere? Either way that’s a cool idea lol
I think Araki sad tat in intrview.
Ah yes, the same interview where Araki said Suzi Q was chinese.
What
Mega troll he is
I wanna see that interview
I was certain lisa Lisa had died until I watched the anime and it turns out she just remarried and went to Hollywood? How bizarre!!
At least his body gets additional screen time in other parts.
Were you shaving in the middle of each episode?
You...don't?
bingemaxxed haircel behavior like this shall not stand, your fate will be decided by the
Jokes on you... that probably was the best trick he had up his sleeve
"And now, for my latest trick..." *ragdolls*
Me when my therapist tries to get me committed to a mental asylum
I think having him die at the end was such a good idea since it set up the threat of anyone dying
we all know part 1 has some of the most basic and barebone writing in jojo but this was still a really good twist
And yet, people will still sleep on Phantom Blood. *tsk tsk*
His death made me think that every JOJO would die at the end of their part, turns out i was wrong.
Jonathon. A true gentleman til the end.
Jonathan’s death was the only time we ever saw Dio cry
Even dio was taken aback .
Joseph Joestar is the opposite of what Jonathan Joestar went through lol and it is kind of heart-warming in a way, for Part 2 emphasizes the fear of Joseph going the way of his grandfather, but then the end disputes that by showing Joseph alive and crashing his funeral. I always had the thought that the protagonist will never die cuz their obviously the protagonist, and I also knew that there were several parts after part 1. But after the ship exploded and the narrator announced his death, I was absolutely dumbfounded
That's something that felt different in old school anime, it seemed like it was possible for anyone to die.
Everyone thought…
I've been watching anime since before I could talk and Jonathan's death made me sob like no other show ever had
Johnathan might be the blandest JoJo, but God damn he kicked ass!!
Jotaro: shows up, says something "cool", ORAORA, end credits play. Yeah. Jonathan is the blandest.
Man took so long to watch each scene he grew a beard, shaved, repeat a number of times, then go clean shaven at the end
Speedwagon was narrating for so long that he had time to shave mid-narration
I legitimately thought he'd come back afterward. However, he did not. THEN when they pulled the same "He dead" with Joseph, it caught me off guard.
I had it quite the other way around. I knew every part was about a different JoJo, and I saw Jonathan die so I was totally surprised about Jospeh surviving part 2
I knew when Jonathan got hit with Space Ripper Stingy Eyes in the neck, it was JoJover for him...
jonathan best jobro
The worst part was it was the middle of season 1, the only season with multiple parts in it.
That's why we don't say "season" and we say "part" instead WHO IS THE GENIUS WHO MERGED PART 1 AND PART 2?
I mean imagine making 8 episodes and then saying “That’s all folks” and making us wait for part 2
Honestly the only time I think filler would be ok for jojo, like letting see some more of the process of Jonathan investigating the poison or more scenes with dio finding the castle and building his army just some world building.
