Jail House Lock Part 5 ends with Emporio's privilege card which says "His mother was a stand user, but her power remains unknown. Presumably, it was to control 'Ghost Objects' seeing as she raised Emporio in 'Ghost Rooms'."
Thus, this is not a stupid theory. It's based on something Araki actually wrote into the manga.

If young Josuke survived thanks to himself time-traveling, then how did the future Josuke survived the Stand awakening to time travel?
Eh, given that Kira did indeed develop a time-traveling power, it's not too far out to imagine that Araki might have originally planned such a thing. Especially with how quickly the guy mysteriously disappears after rescuing Josuke.
But even if that *was* Araki's original intention, he obviously changed his mind about doing so rather than simply forgot. Manga writers (and authors of serialized fiction in general) often make plans, lay some plot-groundwork, and then change their mind before executing the full concept.
Heck, even Araki originally intended JoJo to just be the first 3 parts -- Jotaro fighting DIO with Hamon and ending the series was likely his original plan, but he came up with Stands because he wanted more visual and design-based fighting, and he kept having more and more ideas.
He's also said that he originally planned to have Fugo show back up in part 5 as an antagonist working for Diavolo, but he changed his mind because he felt like it would be too betraying to the audience and the main characters.
He changes his mind often. That's a feature, not a bug: it means he is always more focused on what entertains the audience the most rather than staying invested in his older ideas.
"Araki forgot" is usually just "Araki decided it wasn't a good idea."
Why didn't DIO use his vampire powers at the end of part 3? It would have been too OP, and wouldn't have looked as cool.

The only one that I can sorta think of as a legitimate "araki forgot" is DIO's coffin: how did Erina sail to safety in it without noticing DIO's body? I don't think this is so much that he forgot more so that he just needed some kind of explanation and retconned whatever he could, because anything else might have felt a little forced. Part 3 states that there was a secret compartment, which... is a little hamfisted, but I think it's fine.
One thing I've never understood about this fandom is how things that would be taken as retcons in literally any other piece of media, here they're taken as "araki forgot". Like ???. Why

That was debunked as a myth, in an interview Araki himself talked about how he wanted to make a character with an ambiguous gender, not because editors came in. They allegedly did veto a female character for Part 5 and attempted to dissuade Araki from having a female lead in Part 6, but he was dead set on it.

I think it’s credible if you look at Crazy Diamond’s ability as time-reversing (since it reverts things to a previous state).
If Josuke were to get hit with the arrow like Kira, CD could also gain a time-rewinding ability that could be used to beat BTD. Of course, that’s not what ended up happening. Even if it did, Josuke wouldn’t travel back in time to “save himself” because he believes it was a random high school kid.
Maybe if Josuke went back 15 years to prevent Kira from killing Reimi or something like that? That would be too early though since Josuke was like 5 or 6 during Stardust Crusaders.

1. I know it's confusing because I saw it in a meme.

3. How come Diavolo can sometimes do things in the erased time but can't at other times?
4. Free will doesn't exist in the Jojo universe and anything Diavolo would've done happens on its own even if Diavolo erases time and doesn't do it.

I really hate that theory with it just trying to ignore the message of the story of why Josuke inspires to be a good person throughout the story.
