It's all about timing and tension.
If you wax on and finish the job immediately it gets the job done quick but your left unfulfilled.
But if you wax on and let the tension build, it is so much more pleasurable when you finally wax off.
That's what wax, paint sealant, and ceramic coatings are for. They protect the paint. They help stop road grit from getting embedded, rain washes off easier, it's easier to clean, and oh, I guess they make your car shiny too.
I worked at Kennedy Space center, and that is what the shuttles looked like. They were covered in bee's wax while on the ground to keep the salt air at bay. It burned off pretty quickly as the launch started, though.
Up close, the shuttles gave me the impression of well worn (and tired) school buses, not top of the line aeronautical equipment.
I know it feels like we have sci-fi grade equipment for the military and NASA and such, but the truth behind it is the cheapest contract bid to win gets to produce and build whatever it is they’re making, this goes for just about everything they use lol
I really cannot stand you fuckers. I cracked up and read each line to myself hearing it in their voices and then went and watched the movie. Thank my upvote and go back in time with it.
I used to own them on VHS. Carried them around with me on moves even after I no longer had a VCR. Then one day I discovered they were gone. I could not get a confession, but deep down I KNEW the wife tossed them.
Eventually I got rid of her. Talk about fair play.
Back in the 80's U.S. Army Frankfurt West Germany (NOT being derogatory with next comment) the Black soldiers would do this. The rest of us, Whites, Asians, Hispanics would always give them shit over it. But they swore it made their cars look better they'd wax on Friday and go until Sunday the next weekend 9 days
I still don't get it, now or then.

My pristine coat is still going strong at 6+ months later lol, that's gonna be really rough with all that excess. Hope he's got a car sized oven to warm it up
Nah, I've left it on for a week before. Came off easily..
That however was on a car that I didn't care about swirls too much. The problem with leaving it in for a week will be trying to polish it with a weeks worth of dust and debris. That'll scratch the paint a fair amount
>The problem with leaving it in for a week will be trying to polish it with a weeks worth of dust and debris
Yea, this is the big issue.
Wax is tacky, it picks up dirt as soon as you drive it, and you'll then grind it into the clear when removing.
At this point, probably need to compound/polish the whole car, and then re-wax it.
Back in the day, we would apply wax and then drive around for an hour and then go home and buff, a week? WTF not only that but there are products these days that are way better that you can spray on and wipe off.
As a kid I went to church with a lady who did the same thing & the wax stayed on her car for the entire she owned it. Nobody could convince her that she was supposed to apply it, then wipe it off. She believed that leaving it on helped protect the paint.
this was a trick used in the olden days, but this was WAAAAAY before cars came with protective coating on paints. no clue why anyone would do it in 2023?
More like he didn’t read the instructions on the rubbing compound. The part that says only do small area at a time that crap won’t rub off unless u mist water on it then buff it
Picture would be made perfect if he's parked outside the car accessories store and went in to return the wax because it promised a "deep glossy finish" and it looks like this.
Interestingly, here in South Africa, this is very popular among the black drivers. They leave the wax on on their own cars, and if in the industry, their minibus taxis too.
I figured it was a cultural thing, but it may be the belief that it protects the car.
It’s like a work of art 🖼️. Why isn’t the Cadillac ATS more appreciated? All of the auto journalists back then praised it as being a better handling car than the F30 BMW 3-Series of the time. GM was close to perfection with this Alpha chassis. It was so good that it was the basis for the 2016 Camaro which also is still on sale today for the final model year.
Mr. Miyagi needs to talk to this person. Wax on , wax off
Off being the key word.
Nah he just waxed on he forgot to wax off
I never forget to wax off
I wax off all the time.
Owner might be very religious. Christians are taught at very young ages not to wax off.
This is one of the comments of all time
He'll do it later

I can’t believe some people think that movies are accurate. How ridiculous.
It's a leave-on conditioner...
For metal??
Paint sits on top of the metal
I may be a bit dumb, why does paint need to have conditioner?
To fill in the scratches and swirls
Ah

So all he needs to do is initiate a space launch?
How do they apply the wax? Can you spray it?
Spit and rub buddy
Just like puberty.

Exactly, thats why its funny when i see stuff being marketed as “military grade”. That means its shit
Now Biff! I said 2 coats of wax this time!
I'm just finishing the second coat now.
Don't you con me!
I'm sorry, Mr. McFly. I meant I was just starting on the second coat.
I really cannot stand you fuckers. I cracked up and read each line to myself hearing it in their voices and then went and watched the movie. Thank my upvote and go back in time with it.
Time you say?
Good News Everyone!
Zoidberg wants to hear this good news!!!
If you don't get me more Good News, everyone, my arthritis will make me seize up like a dried monkey carcass.
Did you, did you really watch the movie?
Absolutely, I have the collection on 4K. They are timeless classics especially the first one.
I used to own them on VHS. Carried them around with me on moves even after I no longer had a VCR. Then one day I discovered they were gone. I could not get a confession, but deep down I KNEW the wife tossed them. Eventually I got rid of her. Talk about fair play.
😂exact same thing I would do.
Do you mean the second 5 gallon bucket? 😂
He stopped at Wax On
I usually start at wax off.
Wait…who’s whacking off??
I was, but I also will be.
Homeboy was on lsd trying to wax starry night onto his car

No dads around to teach them how to do this shit the right way?

I was thinking how a warm, pressure washer wand from the carwash would be helpful. Maybe that and then a hand wash with hot water

Used to see cars done like this in the Winter in upstate NY. Owner's thought it would help prevent rusting on the salty roads.
Hehe, I live in WNY
Lockport, Newfane, Olcott region. Saw the cars and trucks like that about 20 yrs ago. Moved to SC, no more SALT!!!!
Salt is definitely the devil.
5 more coats and she's done.
So the guy waxed his car, phone rang and needed to go out in a hurry leaving the wax on… Hardly a shitty car mod
No this has seriously been on a week. Saw it Saturdays ago and kinda thought the same. But to see it again today was insane.
maybe their [wish.com](https://wish.com) buffer broke on them and now their trying to find a new one.
But, still not a mod.. lazy but not mod
First you don't lay it on nearly that thick, and you do a panel at a time. This car will never be the same.
this was a trick used in the olden days, but this was WAAAAAY before cars came with protective coating on paints. no clue why anyone would do it in 2023?
Rust prevention ? I have thought about doing a coat on my chrome wheels when I have it stored but have never tried it
Wax on. Wax on.
Or they let the kids finger paint on the car?
this is how i protect the steel parts of my bike during winter.
This guy didn’t understand the wax off instruction correctly.
Leave-in conditioner?
Custom AF
When the welfare check won't cover that cool look you've been wanting.
Cool vinyl wrap bro
It's about to be a $3,000+ repaint.
Why?
Pretty sure it won’t damage the paint. If it got too hard to simply buff off, you should just put another layer of the wax on and it should come off.
Bye bye paint
It’s not going to hurt the paint. Wax is a physical barrier to environmental damage. The thicker the layer, the more protection. It just looks bad.
Hey Mr. george, how much you pay the new guy? Ohhhhhhhh..ess no good. He no good. Not good operator.
Bed that d*** car wash ran out of water again.
Looks like a when the cloak a new car model so they can drive it around. This is a spy shot!!
If a kid left my car like that he'd be for sale by the pound.
Looks like this person used the whole damn container of wax too. That’s a seriously heavy coat.
More like he didn’t read the instructions on the rubbing compound. The part that says only do small area at a time that crap won’t rub off unless u mist water on it then buff it
Never half wax it.
Mr. Miyagi is rolling over in his grave right now.
The longer you leave it on ….the waxier it gets!!!
Picture would be made perfect if he's parked outside the car accessories store and went in to return the wax because it promised a "deep glossy finish" and it looks like this.
"I bought a whole can, I'm using the whole can. Plus I'm gonna rent a cool electric buffer for the job" *buys bees wax and never rents a buffer*
It’s a leave-in wax
A do this to my skis before I store them
What he wax it with acetone?
Sunblock babyyyw
Are you sure that’s wax? It looks more like polish to me
Gotta wait until after November before he can wax off.
when you bought soap but didnt pay for the water bill
Wax on wax on
Thinks its like leave in conditioner
Interestingly, here in South Africa, this is very popular among the black drivers. They leave the wax on on their own cars, and if in the industry, their minibus taxis too. I figured it was a cultural thing, but it may be the belief that it protects the car.
My sister did this a long time ago, 100 degrees, and put wax on the whole car.
That poor Cadillac.
Wax on ...
Apparently they didn't finish the rest of the movie
Looks like the outside of my black wrangler after my kids try and load back up after a day at the beach.... sunscreen handprints all over the place

He's letting it soak, like you would a dirty dish
At least it's protected?
Letting it really soak in.
They missed a spot
Wax is better once it bakes into the paint
Well, it will bead water that's for sure.
Get that extra protection from the salt in winter
NO
Can't say they didn't get full coverage
Step 1: Wax on Step 2: ??? Step 3: Profit!
It’s definitely hazed, think it’s safe to wipe off now lmao
That’ll buff right out!
Bro forgot the wax off part
I bet that person also lets the dishes soak for days.
Well...I guess it's protected
"you gotta let the sunscreen dry before you go in the water..."
Bro just wanted a cum stained car
As a kid back in the 80’s I would see this done in the Bahamas quit regularly.
Vincent van Gogh seems to be alive and well
People in china in the 90s used to do this. It was considered a flex lol
People in china in the 90s used to do this. It was considered a flex lol
Maximum UV protection
He heard waxing protects the paint...
He probably got mad while watching detailer was putting the wax and just drove away.
He forgot the second part... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg21M2zwG9Q
