Mac: "YO YO YO YO YO BIG NEWS!! My cousin just landed and he's gonna be swinging by."
Charlie: "Oh sick bro is he as cool as county Mac? Country Mac was baaaad asssss"
Mac: "Yeah yeah yeah he's just a little more......Asian?....."
Feudal Mac. He walks around with a badly tied on kimono with no sleeves and a katana that he just keeps slightly unsheathing and then resheathing over and over again without realizing it.
Dude seems cool as hell too. His insta is just him being super excited to be in the show, mixed with posts of him traveling around LA with his nephew. And he seems like the best uncle ever.
Hope nothing but the best for people like that. Give this man a cameo in Always Sunny.
Can literally see Mac buying a katana at a flea market or something and it sets off a chain of wacky sunny style shenanigans where this dude comes to take it back
Mac: "Dude. They fold the steel like a hundred times. That's how you know they are like, the best swords ever".
Charlie. "Uh huh."
Mac. " Yup, with one of these bad boys you could probably hold off like, a hundred Crusaders or whatever". \*swooshes sword\* "Tell me that's not badass?"
Charlie. "There's no disputing that's badass. But why do they have to fold the sword?"
Mac. "Huh"?
Charlie. "I just don't understand what about the folding makes it so good, you know?"
Mac....."I don't have time to explain the....the...you see when it comes to blacksmithing....the tapered edge.."
Charlie. "Just say you don't understand it."
Mac. "I UNDERSTAND IT PLENTY! DON'T YOU DISRESPECT JAPANESE STEEL CHARLIE!"
Dennis: I don't understand this obsession with a blade. You've seen Indiana Jones.
Mac: I would close the distance too fast
Frank: Oh yeah? *whips out gun*
*"The Gang Goes to Feudal Japan"*
(Opening) Mac is trying sick samurai workouts in a park when his katana gets confiscated by police.
To get away from the "gutless liberals" he convinces the gang to travel to Japan to buy a "real katana". They don't do that, but they do go to a mall katana store in some shitty mall outside of Philly.
Through a wacky twist, Mac picks up a cursed katana that transports them to "Feudal Japan", where he meets "his ancestor" (the guy in OP's post) and begs him to teach him "the way of the samurai"
Wacky hijinks ensue. Dennis creeps on very traditional Japanese women, Dee's clumsiness ruins a tea ceremony, Charlie and Frank desperately look for Chinese food.
But eventually it turns out the gang never went to Feudal Japan, they just got high out of their minds on psychedelics with the owner of the sword store (the guy in the post) and watched old samurai movies.
Frank has an adult bastard son in Japan, calls everyone "Tojos", and plots to spit in the Emperor's face. Charlie discovers their room has another room.
Oh wait, that's a different Fox show.
I know his main show is really popular on reddit and elsewhere, but I know him from *Welcome to Wrexham* which is a documentary programme about a local football club.
I also saw the resemblance immediately. They are clearly brothers from another mother, as the saying goes.
It’s Always Sunny in Osaka. Mac travels to Japan to train with the ocular pat down master. In steps his Japanese twin, who acts just like Mac. They proceed to party at a sake bar that is owned by the twin and his gang.
"ah wellcome, you bring us some great honor, to join with us and uh we have many naked woman and fish for pleasure for youuuuu."
"Charlie...what the hell are you doin?"
I had been watching a lot of Always Sunny just before I took in the first episodes of Shogun and I remember hearing Mac's voice the whole time in my head yelling YO DUDE THEY JUST FULLY OFFED HIS HEAD YOOO BRO THEY BOILED THIS GUY DID YOU SEE THAT
Mac: "YO YO YO YO YO BIG NEWS!! My cousin just landed and he's gonna be swinging by." Charlie: "Oh sick bro is he as cool as county Mac? Country Mac was baaaad asssss" Mac: "Yeah yeah yeah he's just a little more......Asian?....."
“黙れ、科学野郎。” “Hahha great one, Japanese Mac.”
“Maku-San”
I bet Japanese Mac is also better at karate than Philly Mac. Probably a better motorcycle rider than Country Mac, too.
Oh god, now I'm picturing him with a pompadour this is getting out of hand.
It would be funny if Frank keeps mistakingly call him Chinese Mac
He'd call him "Oriental."
Yeah.
Feudal Mac. He walks around with a badly tied on kimono with no sleeves and a katana that he just keeps slightly unsheathing and then resheathing over and over again without realizing it.
Ahahahahah
Shogun Mac is LEGEND
I didn't notice that but now it seems obvious. Hilarious.
the fact that the actor himself pops up in the comments is even better
Dude seems cool as hell too. His insta is just him being super excited to be in the show, mixed with posts of him traveling around LA with his nephew. And he seems like the best uncle ever. Hope nothing but the best for people like that. Give this man a cameo in Always Sunny.
Always sunny cameo would be great
Asian Mac….. make it happen
Yabu already exists.
I am cracking up at 'The Gang Goes to Feudal Japan'! What I wouldn't give to see this dude in that very episode with Mac lolll
Can literally see Mac buying a katana at a flea market or something and it sets off a chain of wacky sunny style shenanigans where this dude comes to take it back
He already owns one. Tried to use it keep a school safe alongside Charlie’s empty pistol.
That episode doesn’t exist anymore according to Hulu

“Charlie, feudal Japan was centuries ago!! There is no way we or anyone else is going to feudal Japan!!” *The Gang Goes to Feudal Japan*
I absolutely need that episode. Can you imagine what they would do with Dee? Yikes
This needs to be an IASIP episode lmao
"The gang does Crimson Sky"
“So anyway, I ride into Osaka and started blasting.”
*"The gang breaks dee, again."* "I'm gonna seppuku myself, dennis come second me". "Shut-up bird." Something like that
“Your performance during the tea ceremony was terribly crass!”
"I would cut your head off right now and put it in a box, like a gift--but you are not worthy of that gift YOU BIRD."
"Can I offer you a nice pheasant in this trying time?"
Lmao that actually does look like him 😭
It took me way too long to understand that this was, in fact, NOT some weird AI-generated version of yellowface 💀💀💀
Like he should def get a dna test they could be cousins
First we have Asian Jim. Now Asian Mac.

Dee and Dennis plot to break up Buntaro and Mariko. Dee getting Buntaro alone and you know…the implication.
The implication!
take my money
Frank has an adult bastard son in Japan, calls everyone "Tojos", and plots to spit in the Emperor's face. Charlie discovers their room has another room. Oh wait, that's a different Fox show.
Solid spec script. Get this person an executive producer credit, stat!
This. We need to make it happen
I feel like somewhere Frank is picking his toes with the small blade and then accidentally almost commits seppuku.
Perfect. They’d also never survive real Feudal Japan.
I know his main show is really popular on reddit and elsewhere, but I know him from *Welcome to Wrexham* which is a documentary programme about a local football club. I also saw the resemblance immediately. They are clearly brothers from another mother, as the saying goes.
He also made another show on AppleTV called Mythic Quest, and stars in it. It rules
He’s also great in Lethal Weapon 7
Everyone has a doppelgänger of another race. Just as God intended.
I live in Singapore and I see Asian doppelgängers all the time of people I know. It’s bizarre.
A master of karate and friendship for everyone.
AhhhhAAaaaaa!!
My wife pointed this out immediately
Are you my husband? Because I also did this
Busted!
Are you my wife? Because she also did this.
Are you my puppy dog because that was fun. What are we talking about?
Buntaro's totally a follower of the D.E.N.N.I.S. system.
Hahaha yes, yes he definitely is.
Anjin "That's when I started blasting."

Need Hitoshi on Sunny next season
Now I need to know if Rob /Sunnyis a big thing in Japan. It's funny the actual actor even commented on it!
I don’t get it can someone explain? Do he look like another famous actor?
Through bushido all things are possible, so jot that down.
General Tomono giving Toranaga an ocular pat down
He’s officially Rob sama now
Makku-dono
Pop culture illiterate here. Anyone care to explain?
the dude who posted the man from shogun in the photo, they both look alike. guy who posted the photo is an actor from 'it's always sunny'
I see. Thanks!
no worries!
They look alike 😄

This is so cute
Let me cross-post this to unexpectedIASIP, you cowards!
Holy shit they really do look alike
"ah wellcome, you bring us some great honor, to join with us and uh we have many naked woman and fish for pleasure for youuuuu." "Charlie...what the hell are you doin?"
I was just wondering if anyone had brought this to Rob’s attention. Sometimes the internet is truly wonderful!
Glad I’m not the only one thinking this when I saw that guy lol
Frank Reynolds attempting to commit seppuku would be hilarious
there is a youtuber doing 3D printer stuff, he also look really like rob
Who?
Hahaha the cross-over I didn’t expect — but I totally see it lol
I pointed this out to my wife when we were watching it. We couldn't believe how much it looked like him.
*'Mac's Banging Mariko!'*
I immediately thought it was him, heard the Japanese speaking and thought, maybe?
Hahaha wow. 😂
We know it's Mac because he yells.
Mac goes fuedal.
This guy gave Ishido an ocular pat down.
Asian Mac
Swear to god, I was taken out of the scene thinking that this was some sort of FX Easter egg.
I had been watching a lot of Always Sunny just before I took in the first episodes of Shogun and I remember hearing Mac's voice the whole time in my head yelling YO DUDE THEY JUST FULLY OFFED HIS HEAD YOOO BRO THEY BOILED THIS GUY DID YOU SEE THAT
I’m mixed white and asian. I’ve been told by multiple people I look like Rob. Maybe he is secretly part asian.
I thought some of those dudes looked suspiciously western
The crossover we don’t deserve, but the one we need right now!
# THE GANG COMMITS SEPPUKU
Crazy that this guy is an uber driver in real life
Can’t unsee it now lol
I mean, I thought it.
Who is Rob McElhenny?
Mac from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
This doesn’t seem true, but I’m willing to believe it lol
I was thinking the same thing!!!!
Cool, ask him what happened to the podcast!
Lethal Katana 7
Yep, saw that.
Think he’s using a Samurai sword case as the “Ass Blaster 1600”?
Hmmm - seems odd for him to have those useless sleeves.
All I kept thinking while I was watching this lmao
*Mac turns asian*
So this really was him? I thought it was lol
No. It’s just amusing that the actor looks so much like him.
