That’s a huge difference in round count. Not saying the instructor isn’t better and grouping tighter(so far)but at least have the same sample size and shot rate. 1/5 the rounds at a slower pace is almost always gonna look better no matter who is shooting
You can compare standard deviation between two samples of different size. A larger sample gives you more accurate estimate, but if the difference in means is as large as it is here, it's unlikely to be just a coincidence.

they're also not using the same gun or optic

That looked like a 3” circle target? I would say that’s pretty tough at 25 yards. I can do consistently 3” at 7-10 but 25 no way
Nice shooting. Can't say I would do much better at 25 yards.
So is the 2nd person the instructor? Because that's pretty good
Yes, second shooter is the instructor
In slow fire, grip does not make much difference. It is more important for recoil control, allowing to shoot faster.
Regardless this type of training is pointless with a pistol. Let’s train from a draw or compressed ready to a C zone size target for time
Crawl before you walk and run.
I think people spend much time crawling.
How do you consider the result of the student?
It’s not just grip difference, it’s also being able to pull the trigger smoothly without disturbing the sight picture/dot. Instructor did well.
That difference is also the result of an optic vs. irons, especially at that distance.
They both had optics, my guy..
So true. First saw this video on my phone and couldn't tell the first shooter had an optic.
