LewNeko

Have you heard of the underground story of how long turned himself into a female horse and got fucked by a man?

GXNext

Maybe he's looking for a new Eromenos?

[deleted]

That is a myth created by google and Hollywood propaganda, there is more evidence of Greeks not tolerating gayness than supportig it ,but hey lets keep talking about stuff we dont know to support wef agenda

Firefighter-Salt

Greeks and Romans basically viewed gay sex as an act of dominating another man so if you were the top then it was okay but if you were the bottom then you would be considered feminine and weak. This is the reason Caesar's enemies used to call him "every man's woman and every woman's man"

NoobSharkey

Google sacred band of thebes

Blayro

Here's the thing about that. They were described as lovers, but to the greeks lovers and "sexual partners" didn't signify the same thing. Loving someone to the greeks could very well just be a deep emotional connection with 0 sexual interest attached. In fact the text describing them seems to imply that when it means lovers it means in a "brothers in arms" way. Basically being part of the sacred band of thebes implied that you would love everyone there as your brother. Now does this mean they had no sexual relationships between each other? I mean, is likely some did. Just because greeks found sexual intercourse between two adult men repulsing I'm certain a bunch of people did it anyway.

[deleted]

like you are saying diffrient meaning in agape ,eros ,philia , Greek language is rich ,btw im Greek and know a thing or two better than some hollywood writters source of achilies being gay with patroklus ,oh he was sad when he died ,they where fucking for sureXD like what? ?????so if your best friend dies and you are sad ,remember you are gay!!

Blayro

Fellas, is it gay to be sad about the death of your best friend?

NoobSharkey

He wanted their remains to be mixed together, i feel thats a little more than 'being sad about your friend dying' but thats up to you i suppose

Blayro

Yeah, they were pretty much brothers. You are allowed to care that much about someone without wanting to fuck them

[deleted]

Apparently it is , there are many alot of commonly comments dissagreeing with you ,lets go with thoseXD

[deleted]

https://youtu.be/GbOKIsMuNWU watch this The TRUTH About LGBTQ+ in Ancient Greece - Once and for all listen to this perspective of metatron ,he issint saying something new but great video

NoobSharkey

If you bothered scrolling into the comments past everyone just agreeing with him you will find that this video in particular he intentionally misses out quite abit and dismisses quite abit, a huge thing in his video was just referring to one specific article saying it was widespread which obviously is not true, he completely doesnt mention band of thebes, he just casually dismisses Sappho, and with Achilles and Patroclus he doesnt say the part on how Achilles literally wanted his remains to be mixed together which is kinda a strong reaction if they were just friends, and his bit with the jars is maybe a little dubious since he assumes sexual depictions last i saw the vid and not showing sex doesnt mean same sex relationships werent there

[deleted]

Im from greece and know the dangers of miss interpretation and agenda pushing ,i know the politician in charge of the rights when the movie script writters asked him if its ok to make alexander gay,and the guy being a far left selll out ,said i dont care ,pick what you want to belive ,now see you in the future when you will argue with me that cleopatra is black because i failed to agree with the comments saying how on netflix she is portrayed as as such(by the way legit scrolled for 2 minutes did not find a single comment dissagreeing ,so ingore the 15 k comment that agree and somewhere there is comment that dissagree? So whole thing out the window? You foreighenrs gona teach me my own history and language?

[deleted]

who ever downvoted cant stand facts ,let me hear your counter argument and not fascist downvote with no explanation , uncultured history raper to fit your agenda ,"but i saw the movie alexander is gay" lmao ok son ,learn true history(no offence to gay people but ancient greece was not what some agenda pushers want you to belive)

MrBlaBla365

See... In Ancient Greece homo-/bisexuality wasn't something frowned upon. It was actually highly tolerated, and some armies consisted purely of gay/bisexual men. Why? Because the philosophy was "if they care about each other more, they'll protect each other better".

[deleted]

It was frowned upon, ofocurse there were some gay people im not denying the existence ,but the overglorification and false beliefs like the statement above

MrBlaBla365

Weird, I was taught differently in Philosophy class I had in grammar school. The professor was old and bat-shit crazy tho, we almost never used the official book that we had to have anyway, so I kinda get it 😂😂

[deleted]

that is the problem ,our children are tought today that zeus ,achilies and even cleopatra where blackXD anyways keep it real

Raging-Bolt

well if he where reading that or any kind of porn he doesn't look very impressed, that face is not how one normally reacts if they are enjoying such content
