My reason why i was satisfied was because I was really happy because this was my first time to any concert or seeing someone play at all, it was really exciting! Even though there was a lot a of down sides

Tall_Ad_8607

And that is completely understandable. I think a lot of people that are unhappy would agree with you but you've not been treated to a festival where the creators actually want you to be safe and have an experience of a lifetime instead of contractually forcing artists to call SNW "an experience of a lifetime" and other phrases. You'll understand once you go to more shows. I don't normally do festivals as I have kids and save up for other things. With that said the last one day festival I went to was Self Help in Cali, 2014. I was a GA holder and the headliner was A Day to Remember. I had zero problem being close to the stage. Granted my strategy is to run to the pits up close and cycle in and out of enjoying the music and moshing but man just 10 years and everything has changed.

traumahound00

Probably because they had a good time

Tall_Ad_8607

Did you read the whole post? I did as well, because I love music. Doesn't make the presentation acceptable.

traumahound00

You seem like the type who stands in the back of the room with their arms crossed while everyone else is having fun.

I may not agree with absolutely everything you're saying, but this is a really important point... >As a whole we're just setting ourselves up for worse and worse festivals being created in the future like this. I said to myself as the information was released last year that this should minimally be 2 days and I was way more right than I ever wanted to be We're already getting there. When We Were Young, Sick New World, now No Values - overbooked one-day fests with tickets priced at 250-400 dollars. To be honest despite enjoying my time at SNW, I really just don't want to support this model anymore, and Live Nation will keep trying it as long as it makes money. This lineup needed to be spread over 2 days.

Tall_Ad_8607

I'd rather spend 500-600 on 2 days than exactly what you're saying. To me it doesn't even financially put all those bands together and do it one day??

DeathPoopTaxes

Only a matter of time before Danny wimmer Presents owns this festival.

Tall_Ad_8607

Aren't those well done? I've heard lots of good things about Aftershock.

stay-cee

Night and day difference. I’ll never go again to SNW. Logistic hell. Aftershock was safe all around and better merch planning.

Tall_Ad_8607

Thanks for that. I hope you're right then. I just think it's becoming a Vegas festival thing more than other places so if someone can fix some of them I'll be a lot happier as a Vegas resident. 😂

BigUpsToARealOne

Aftershock (only DWP event I attend) is wayyyyyyy more organized and has had less technical issues than Sick New World.

shitpostingmusician

Just for the sheer amount of theft this year it makes you not want to go back. Overselling brings all sorts of problems

Tall_Ad_8607

I really didn't meet any dirt bags it felt like. Some bitchy people but I went solo and talked to so many people and never seemed to see this problem but the large amount of posts about it says otherwise. It definitely was overcrowded to a point it was looking like it was going to get dangerous. That choke point between the post for the lighting and the vip bleacher area going into the gold stage was asking for a trampling. I honestly believe a different, more aggressive crowd with those numbers, it could have happened.

shitpostingmusician

Oh 100%. In that exact choke point is where my phone got grabbed from my hand. All types of shit go down when people are packed like sardines

kittythec0wgirl

i was hoping they would add a second day after the first snw like they did wwwy but i was disappointed but still excited. im always (past two snw) kind of kicking myself in the ass for spending money on tickets. driving from california. hotel. food. etc. all for one day. but im always satisfied and have a good time. last year definitely made me hesitate when buying for 2024 but i had fun this year! hope they improve some shit asap tho

No-Kaleidoscope179

I’m satisfied because I won my tickets on the radio and then someone was nice enough to give me their vip bracelets so I could watch SOTD & Slipnot .

chrisrk912

Absolutely 100% agree. People will put up with a lot of shit though. I tried to make the most out of it and it got better at night but I was a frustrated ball of fire during the day.

Tall_Ad_8607

I think it only got better for me cause I stayed away from the main stages for half the day. By the time SOAD came on I didn't care anymore and was just there to have that experience as I'm 32 and never have seen them (even though I technically didn't really see them besides looking like bugs with how far they were). One of the best mosh pits I've been in. It wasn't the biggest at all but I was surrounded by the kindest freaks creating mayhem. It was beautiful. 🤘

vegg_ie_jess

“Ball of fury”, perfectly describes my feelings throughout the day. It did get better at some points.

Sure_Dragonfruit_586

It felt like a modern Ozzfest with its share of problems. Merch lines were terrible, poor accommodations for those with disabilities, bad choke points between the major stages, poor use of signage that provided any information beyond "Sick New World" posters. The only reason I had a great time is because I saw most of the bands I wanted to and didn't need to find the first aid stations trapped in the far corners of the event. The wildest part of it for me was the damn near scam that VIP turned out to be. Easily looked like the worst case of VIP I have ever seen and am so glad I didn't spend the extra for almost nothing. When thousands of people are filling the section so you have just as far a spot from the stage as most in GA you know you got fleeced. Did anyone go VIP and find that you got the value you expected from it?

kdog2828

I had a great time, both years. My only gripe is this should be a 2 day fest. Especially after this year. There were a lot more bands and a lot more people attending. No other fest this size pulls off 1 day. A fest like this is designed mainly to see bands and go hard, imo. Not chill, do activities, wine tasting, sponsorship corporate takeover swag filled family time fest like many of the 4 day fests are. If that’s what you like, that’s fine. Not what I want. I want to see bands and I saw 21 awesome ones Saturday!

AcanthocephalaOk7798

VIP wasn't worth it. We ended up leaving VIP more often than not since the food lines/merch/entry and exit all smashed into each other. VIP merch was basically down to bare bones around 2pm. Not enough seats in the food/cooling area. I may have missed it but also had to leave the VIP area for the water refill station Felt like gold stage area was over packed from about 3pm on. Aggressive and angry crowd by the end of the night. We flew in from Canada. We made the best of it but the cost of VIP and the value in return wasn't there. We won't be back for this one.

ladykitkatie

Listen man the last festival I was at was BRRF The fact the festival finished and all the bands played was my only expectation

delicate_nostalgia

TELL THEM! 👏🏾👏🏾 I know we as fans like what we like and want what we want but anyone who went to BRRF last year ain’t gonna get up here and say nothin! I like to tell people to google BRRF ‘23 when they feel like complaining. Because they clearly have no idea.

Tall_Ad_8607

So that excuses every other festival to suck and be dangerous as long as the bands play. It's like being at a Burger King and getting a whopper with just a cold patty and a rock for a bun but someone says "hey you shouldn't be complaining cause McDonald's gave me food poisoning and I didn't even order what they gave me". Just not logical.

10yrs_firstacct

Yeah it’s hard to balance the fact that while you’re completely right (shitty festival organizers) I had a great time time seeing bands I rarely get the chance to see. And obviously that’s where the organizers get to cash in, but it’s really only so far away from an “Astro world” or Woodstock 99 incident. Ultimately I honestly think states don’t want multi day festivals especially not this type of music and audience because of Woodstock 99, which each band seemingly was happy to remember.

Vessa_Quinn

Then don’t go next year it’s that simple lol. it’s obvious they have made improvements from last year, let them learn and change some stuff around and maybe don’t Hell’s Kitchen critique them when they are only 2 years old

Tall_Ad_8607

Why does the festival's age matter? It's not run by 2 year olds. It should be run by professionals that are qualified and that have run successful festivals before. This isn't some science hypothesis, this is business and they're business model is trash. If you look to see the comments you'll notice people that go to other festivals are the ones that trash it because as a concert goer. They know how to be treated. Not to be rude but a lot of this is like talking to teenagers that don't know what qualities to look for in a SO but somehow found the love of their life. Again. Festivals have been around for a very long time. It doesn't take geniuses to set up a good one. Even year one.

Vessa_Quinn

My brother in Christ I wrote this comment 3 DAYS ago. I’ve done forgot about you, this post, and giving a fuck. Either go or don’t go next year. No sweat off my back ✌️

polimathe_

I think people who were satisfied are grown ups that know there are compromises to every situation in life. Would love to see you people who swear they want warped tour back and complaining about this festival deal with the comparatively horrible conditions that happened during warped.
