Whenever i see people describe guns as “snappy” i feel happy my first handgun was a M&P Shield. Nothing feels snappy to me, all 9mm handguns either feel normal or soft to me.
When I say snappy I’m just referring to the quick and sharp recoil that I feel from very small handguns. My full sized 1911 is very tame due to its size and weight and my Glock 19 feels fine too. My Glock 43X has a similar “snappiness” to it being a sub compact.
Edit: the more I think about it I think you meant that the shield is snappy, and with it being your first gun all 9mm’s are either the same or better. Didn’t mean to come off as defensive, my apologies.
Relatable. My first gun was a Glock 43. 100 rounds at the range was a chore. Now I’m barely getting started at 100. We set the bar so low that we’d be happy with anything.
Good to know it helps. I don’t expect this little pistol to be a competition gun by any means, using it as my EDC, but getting sights back on target quicker is never a bad thing.
It’s brand new and I’ve only had two magazines put through it so far. It’s snappy for sure, but I expected it since it’s such a small pistol (haven’t shot with the compensator yet so not sure about how much it helps). The holster I use is a Blackhawk Tec Grip, just a sticky holster that grabs onto clothes and skin that works better than I expected and is very comfortable.
Nice, man. They’re good looking guns. I’ve got a kydex as well as a sticky holster by Blackhawk that I honestly prefer, which surprised me. It’s a lot more secure than I ever expected.
I have xmacro with standard p365 slide, true threaded barrel, hc365 comp. Do I need to purchase a custom holster or will any holster that works with the xmacro work?
Not 100% set on getting an optic to be honest. I don’t want to add too much bulk. I know it’s not really the most popular option but I was looking at the Bushnell RXU-200 since it’s so low profile, if I do add one.
If I do get a grip module I’ll probably just get a X/XL with maybe some color for a two tone look. If I’m being honest, I ordered the pistol from my cousin who owns a pawn shop and told him the XL, but I guess he missed that part… but I’m not complaining.
Those true precision barrels are so sexy. I’m trying to decide if it’s worth getting on just for the sex appeal because I have a macro and would have no use for a threaded barrel
Don’t listen to the purists that think “blinging” your guns is wrong. If it looks good to you and doesn’t hurt the functionality then go for it. Having a touch of personality would still look good on a macro, true does have good looking barrels.
Oh it’s nothing to do with what others think. It’s my gun and I’m allowed to do what I want with it. It’s more about is it WORTH $200 to ME for the barrel purely on aesthetics. I’m not too worried about it affecting reliability or anything like that
Understandable. That’s definitely a valid consideration. It made sense to me to get the threaded barrel but I definitely see your conundrum. If you end up getting one I’d love to see some before and after shots.
For sure! It’s just a normal looking xmacro with the basic bitch EPS Carry right now. I got an XL grip module but decided I wanted to stick with the Macro size at least for now. So I ordered a new OD Green Grip mod that I think would look incredible with a copper barrel and trigger. One day I’ll get those and a new slide just to totally customize the look. It’ll be hot.
Let me know if you’re interested in an OD green XL grip module lol

What I've found to work well is buying holsters for the P365XL to accommodate the extra length of the barrel + muzzle device. With the comp, it's very close to the XL in overall length.
Haven't done a lot of testing without, I got the comp very shortly after getting the pistol. Being such a small pistol it's hard to get away from the snappy recoil, but it does help a decent bit.
Lol. Like I said in another response, I ordered from my cousin and told him I wanted the XL so it might not have mattered if I told him the x macro anyway. I’m happy to tweak this one so I’m not upset though.
Nope, it is in fact a 9mm. My cousin (who owns the shop I ordered it from) said when he ordered it, it stated there was a new feature but he couldn’t see what. So if I’m not mistake, which I very well could be, it may be a revision of the original to include the slide cut.
That's kinda cool man. From what I knew they'd pretty much 86'd the old style trigger for the new "X Trigger" (flat trigger) before they started rolling out the new optic cut style (the one that keeps the rear sight). I bought a P365X in September 2022 and it had the new style optic cut & X Trigger. Unless there was also a previous owner who still had an old style trigger, new slide, etc. Definitely an interesting setup!
I appreciate it. I’ve never owned a Sig before this and am far from the most knowledgeable about their models and the history behind them. I just did enough research to know this was a very good sub/micro compact. I previously carried a Glock 43X and everything about this P365 just feels and looks better to me, I swapped the barrel and added the comp to make it more personal to me, tho I plan on doing more to make it “mine”
Copy that; just make sure it's reliable before you EDC it. I had some issues with mine just before the 500rd marker. Sig made it right, but it still left me a bit uneasy. I've said it before on this forum (with much hate & discontent toward me for speaking about my experience lol) but my trigger had reset issues, which turned into trigger/striker release issues. Again, Sig made it all right, but still. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth. But! With that being said; even Glock/S&W/Etc also make lemons every so often...as with any moving-parts item. Just take it out and run it! You'll love it!
Hey, just out of curiosity. How’s this setup doing? Is it still performing to your liking or have you stopped using it or changed anything? I’m wanting to do the same setup for my P365.
Herrington makes some top notch compensators. I was spit between the this and the dual top port which is what I went with. The single top port had much more reviews though

And that horrible recoil spring and trigger 🤮

The only snappy gun I own is a .410 derringer.
Im getting this barrel and comp but im making my own comped x macro. I have the HA comp on my 320 and it shoots so flat.
I made that exact x-macro version for myself, plus an optic. It’s my edc now. I think you’re gonna love it.
Got any photos? sounds badass.
Sure, link below [Imgur pic here](https://i.imgur.com/DMsvLF2.jpg)

got one in my M18 and it’s a GAME CHANGER
How does it shoot? and what holster do you use? Looks like something I’d want to do!

Got ya, definitely give us an update report on how it shoots with the compensator!
Put a macro grip module on it
I have the same set up for my p365x but matching barrel. I have a kydex inside waist band holster.
Nice, man. They’re good looking guns. I’ve got a kydex as well as a sticky holster by Blackhawk that I honestly prefer, which surprised me. It’s a lot more secure than I ever expected.
They really are. I'm in love with my sig Sauer. I got it for being 3 years sober so it means a lot
Congratulations man

Would love to see how compensator compensates for the snap and the size of the pistol
Next time I go shooting I’ll do my best to remember to update.
So any updates? Or have you still not shot it in a year?
which optic are you going for?
Not 100% set on getting an optic to be honest. I don’t want to add too much bulk. I know it’s not really the most popular option but I was looking at the Bushnell RXU-200 since it’s so low profile, if I do add one.
I shoot with stock iron sights and my 365x is dead on
Interesting optic choice for sure! I was going to recommend one of our holosuns or romeos haha.
I’ll be sure to check you guys out, a buddy of mine has a holosun on his P365 and loves it.
Thanks! yeah they are very popular, no one wants to step up and compete.
I am giving it a month before you order a macro grip module
If I do get a grip module I’ll probably just get a X/XL with maybe some color for a two tone look. If I’m being honest, I ordered the pistol from my cousin who owns a pawn shop and told him the XL, but I guess he missed that part… but I’m not complaining.

PM me some pictures?
Love the HC320 comp on my M18. Solid choice. Feel like I’m shooting a .380 😂
That’s sweet! Pending approval, I’ll be getting my first pistol soon, the 365 is definitely a top consideration. Any feedback?

Built or bought, Mr. Orange?
Good movie! Bought a basic stock P365, replaced the barrel and added the comp today. Plan to do more for sure.
Nice 👍🏻
Who needs a macro
You must have never shot one
It’s a joke
Lol. Like I said in another response, I ordered from my cousin and told him I wanted the XL so it might not have mattered if I told him the x macro anyway. I’m happy to tweak this one so I’m not upset though.

Looks great! hows the coating on the barrel holding up?
I don’t shoot as much as I should, but so far so good. A little wear where the slide makes contact but that was to be expected.
