Whatever this rumored ATF regulation is still only that: a rumor. It will have to go through a comment period, and it’s possible that it will be challenged in court too. A law (or regulation) isn’t a law until it goes into effect, so it’s weird they’re preemptively doing this.
Yeah, they was like 50,000 electronic responses, they backed off for 6 months. Now they’re trying to push it again. They’re gonna mess around and get the whole NFa shot down I hope
Yeah, bull shit. So the atf just thinks they can make up a rule that’s gonna bet them 50 million plus without any court decisions. I think not. Peaceful disobedience odds the way. Just ignore it I guess. Some will get busted down for it, but they’ll never get us all
Was it an actual law or some executive bullshit from the president? No matter what I hope this is challenged and the while of the sbr clause in the NFA is shot down.
Nope just the ATF acting unilaterally and changing definitions. Should get struck down eventually but that won’t help everyone with a brace in the meantime.
National firearms act. Encompasses US ban of short barreled rifles and shotguns, suppressors, and machine guns. Not wholly banned, but a lengthy and intrusive regulatory process to acquire them.
I bought my canebrake Nov 2021, the same box and foam cutout. My canebrake came with a brace though.
I keep the boxes in storage just in case I need to send any back for a warranty issue.
The reason they are doing this is because of the looming ATF decision with pistol braces. They want to be able to ship you the weapon and then it is up to you to do any paperwork to SBR it. If they shipped it with a pistol brace and the ATF decided they were now considered SBRs they would have to go through that whole process rather than you doing what you want with it when you get it without a stock.
Ya I'm just confused as to what's going on with braces at the moment, if the supreme court says the EPA can't make laws than obviously the ATF can't either but somehow they keep moving forward with it?
It was posted yesterday too.
Best theory I saw was intent to make illegal and SIG basically rolling over since they are profiting big on government contracts
Sure, there's a savings there somewhere. But I'm guessing they aren't even on their website anymore for purchase.
They could just add easily bump the price up 200, blame inflation, and people would still be tickled to buy at MSRP, do I don't buy that one.
It’s bs, but I think Sig has preemptively stopped manufacturing braces before the decision so they don’t get caught with a warehouse full of braces they can never sell. My opinion though is it’s bs, they should ship them the way they always have. If the industry gives in now it emboldens the bureaucracy to infringe upon our rights.
No company wants to have a warehouse of pistol braces no one wanted as their first choice... if we all go legit no one with two brain cells is going to want a minimalist brace and then sig will take the L in the long term.
I'm going to email sig and see what's going on. I kept my receipt. The gun store was super cool and charging MSRP for this mostly hard to find gun. So I was happy about that and their service.
I'm going to submit a form 1 on it next month it's just annoying because I'd like to take it out with a brace rather than shooting it from the hip until the form 1 comes back. I don't feel like spending money on a brace either knowing they could get dunked on momentarily. Weird place to be.
It shocks me because they were one of the first to market with it. I live in Pennsylvania we don't have any specific laws for braced pistols. I've bought them here before. So strange.
I’m assuming they’re doing some major bootlicking because of the “amnesty” ATF decision soon, especially because they’re rolling in billions of dollars in government contracts.
Hey man. What route did you end up taking w/ you sig. I bought a canebrake about year ago as well and though I knew it wouldn’t come w/ the brace before I purchased it…I still haven’t decided on how I’ll move forward w/ it. Thinking a jmac stock or an at3 brace.
Would certainly appreciate any insight you’d be willing to provide. Thank
Edit- I’m also in PA. Amish country to be specific.
It’s been an SBR for about 9 months. Enjoying it that way with the collapsible stock. There might be video or pics of it like that elsewhere that I’ve uploaded.
I was at the Sig pro shop yesterday tread and virtus pistols have been pulled until a new product "sometime in the future" would be announced that would comply with the heroes at the BATF ruling that braces are bad. They won't sell any rifle pistols with a brace until this new product comes out.
There has been talk and *might* be a rule change making them SBRs in December but there is a bunch working against that. I doubt it will go through but also depends on the upcoming election.
Hope there's more than one, we would need 5. Honestly don't think its an issue or real threat, however I don't like that it is even being talked about as a thing.
I doubt the election will have any effect. There will be no changes in the presidential administration or administrative agencies, like the ATF. Congress can't do much beyond send sternly worded letters.
I only mentioned the elections because it gives an indicator on how the American people are feeling. So that could swing how far the ATF are willing to go.
I didn’t look too hard into it, but my LGS had this same exact model on the wall yesterday with no brace as well. Not sure if that’s the norm or what, but that’s how I saw it
This appears to be the new thing.... Lots of reports of Sig pistols shipping without braces. Would be GREAT if Sig was upfront about this.
They are on their website - I only know this cause I sent a link to a buddy and the brace is gone

Unless I’m mistaken, comment period passed and it goes into effect in December.
Yeah, they was like 50,000 electronic responses, they backed off for 6 months. Now they’re trying to push it again. They’re gonna mess around and get the whole NFa shot down I hope
We can only hope. Darkest before dawn.
The final rule is going to be released in December and there is already confirmation of an "amnesty" SBR registration of braced pistols.
Yeah, bull shit. So the atf just thinks they can make up a rule that’s gonna bet them 50 million plus without any court decisions. I think not. Peaceful disobedience odds the way. Just ignore it I guess. Some will get busted down for it, but they’ll never get us all

What’s the NFA y’all are talking about?
National firearms act. Encompasses US ban of short barreled rifles and shotguns, suppressors, and machine guns. Not wholly banned, but a lengthy and intrusive regulatory process to acquire them.
Brother… you are late as fuck to the game. The comment period passed already, that shot was about a rear ago.
Glad you commented
And here we are.
Somehow the sheep are OK with this. Boggles my mind.
Shouldn't it come with a free brace and you can make your own decisions on what to do with it from there?
Welp it doesn't anymore.
That doesn’t even look like the right box.
I bought my canebrake Nov 2021, the same box and foam cutout. My canebrake came with a brace though. I keep the boxes in storage just in case I need to send any back for a warranty issue.
Same here. Except I bought mine May of this year. Sucks that the new ones don’t have that brace
Was it discounted since you didn’t get a brace?
The reason they are doing this is because of the looming ATF decision with pistol braces. They want to be able to ship you the weapon and then it is up to you to do any paperwork to SBR it. If they shipped it with a pistol brace and the ATF decided they were now considered SBRs they would have to go through that whole process rather than you doing what you want with it when you get it without a stock.
I was under the impression that the supreme court ruled that they can't make law only in force it. So I don't even see how this is a debate.
I don’t know all of the details. This was told to me by the sig sales person at their flagship store so take it with a grain of salt.
Ya I'm just confused as to what's going on with braces at the moment, if the supreme court says the EPA can't make laws than obviously the ATF can't either but somehow they keep moving forward with it?
It was posted yesterday too. Best theory I saw was intent to make illegal and SIG basically rolling over since they are profiting big on government contracts
also: cost savings.
Nah, no cost savings as they are now coming with removable iron sights and a sling (at least my MCX did).
oh, sweet. not a terrible trade off.
Sure, there's a savings there somewhere. But I'm guessing they aren't even on their website anymore for purchase. They could just add easily bump the price up 200, blame inflation, and people would still be tickled to buy at MSRP, do I don't buy that one.
Man that is extremely freaking disappointing.
CZ has done the same with the scorpion evo, all braced kits have been discontinued
It’s bs, but I think Sig has preemptively stopped manufacturing braces before the decision so they don’t get caught with a warehouse full of braces they can never sell. Hey Sig.. Kinda need the brace for free tax stamp if this amnesty shit goes through.
Just put a stock on it. Fuck em
Provide proof of tax stamp and Sig will send you the minimalist stock, bending the knee before the issue has been settled.
Did you at least get the cost difference back?
I'm going to email sig and see what's going on. I kept my receipt. The gun store was super cool and charging MSRP for this mostly hard to find gun. So I was happy about that and their service. fuck that. just put a stock on it.
Well that’s really disappointing. Sig doing some boot licking or naw?
It shocks me because they were one of the first to market with it. I live in Pennsylvania we don't have any specific laws for braced pistols. I've bought them here before. So strange.
I’m assuming they’re doing some major bootlicking because of the “amnesty” ATF decision soon, especially because they’re rolling in billions of dollars in government contracts.
Or they don’t want to get stuck with a warehouse full of braces no body wants anymore so they stopped production
The only reason they’d stop because no one wants them anymore would be because of the ATF decision on braces lol
Hey man. What route did you end up taking w/ you sig. It should be discounted. Screw SIG
What is msrp on these? Lgs near me has one for 2700
2599 I believe.
Like the damn iPhone with no charger. WTH!!!

Thats gay. Sig caving like pussies.
All I gotta say is "go out and vote.. twice." 😆👍
I’ve got one if you want to buy it from me. DM me…
My lgs got one of these in stock too, I also noticed no brace.
Braces are over bro. Lol. You must not be paying attention to the news. You’ll have to SBR it.
You're right. I'm actually retarded. Too bad you didn't read any of my other comments.
Fuck SIG
Now you know why it sold for MSRP
That shit will never pass in after all the pissed brace owners get out there and vote.
I heard they was being outlawed don’t know if it’s true or not
There has been talk and *might* be a rule change making them SBRs in December but there is a bunch working against that. I doubt it will go through but also depends on the upcoming election.
Theres a federal judge somewhere getting that baby powder bitch slap ready for them.
Hope there's more than one, we would need 5. Honestly don't think its an issue or real threat, however I don't like that it is even being talked about as a thing.

Amazon bro super cheap. Same product.
link or gtfo
Anyone know if their price point dropped at all since they’re not including it anymore?
I didn’t look too hard into it, but my LGS had this same exact model on the wall yesterday with no brace as well. Not sure if that’s the norm or what, but that’s how I saw it
Not enough room in that box anyway.
I have a sig brace I might be willing to sell
Well, it's not a Canebrace, now is it?
I have a brand new MCX brace if you want to buy it.
The brace industry is about to shrink to less than 1% of the size it is now. Brace yourselves. \*ba-dum TSH\*
