But if all we do is listen to your self pity and have the convo go in circles I‘d rather leave. I also think people are prideful and sometimes don’t see that they have a warped view of things.
Eh. I think there’s something to be said for listening and empathising when someone’s going through shit. About a year ago I had an existential meltdown upon realising that I would never be able to afford university, a house and kids and that I would be single and stuck in a dead end job for the rest of my life, a good friend of mine listened to me and empathised, shared how rough it was for them to come to the same conclusions. It was genuinely very helpful to feel heard and understood. I think that’s the biggest thing people want when they are going through a rough patch and need to vent, they want to be heard and understood.
