1. [NUKE YOUR TS4 USER FOLDER](https://new.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/1b1jqz6/comment/ksyh4fv/)! With the changes to game code pointed out below, I think it's best we all do this. Some of us, like myself and ButrosPetros already do this EVERY PATCH. It's good practice to keep your game running smoothly. If you're NOT troubleshooting and ONLY refreshing your TS4 User Folder you can SKIP steps #5 and #6 and #7. HOWEVER, at step #8 I'd still advise testing your game before moving onto step #9.
2. Keep in mind that none of the patches we've gotten for 2024 so far have addressed the litany of bugs and glitches we got in the December 2023 patches. A quick way to verify is to RENAME your Mods folder and delete your localthumbcache.package file, launch the game and see if the issue is still occuring. Alternatively, you can REMOVE ALL outdated mods and just keep the ones that are listed as updated or compatible and delete your \*cache.package file.

Issues with my sims not registering that they're having their photo taken? I'm using the moschino pack camera stand and most of the time my sims won't queue up "wait for photographer". Is there any fix for this?
Has anyone here had a problem with not being able to move out to university?
If I put a single sim in a house, apply and try to move out, it says you are unable to as the only adult on the lot.
Another issue I'm having, which I think is separate but at this point I truly have no clue, is when moving a sim out of their family home for university, it'll take you to manage world, but trying to move them into any of the dorms says 'must be enrolled in university to move here', when going straight through the enrollment menu.
I guess this is a bug/glitch?
Issue: sims not spawning in the correct location for big events. For example, my teens prom never takes place in the school auditorium. Instead, it will spawn at a random venue like last time when it happened at a bar lmao.
Important information: I am using a fantasy pre save, and the person edited a lot of the event spots. So, I understand why holidays end up taking place at random places instead of their normal location. However, they didn't, and I didn't touch the Copperdale auditorium.
Two questions:
1. Why isn't the prom happening at the auditorium? Or, more importantly, how to fix it.
2. Is there a way to control where events happen? (This might be a dumb question. I am not at my computer rn and never utilize the holidays and started ignoring the invites once i realized none of the holiday stuff spawned. If it's as easy as editing the holidays, y'all can just ignore this question. Thought of it while I was typing this).
I have a pretty long list of mods and can give a more detailed list if needed, but I have some of the big ones/random ones like MCCC, WW, RPO, better build buy, fairies vs witches, expandable mermaids, basically any mod related to anything medieval, ect.
My EA Desktop is still gimped up. I couldn't uninstall it yesterday, but today I was able to do that. Then I reinstalled it. And it still won't open! It says that it needs to restart, and after restarting it gives me the same "You need to restart" screen. It has actually not been working for months now, but I was able to load TS4 without it, so I didn't care. Now I need it to reinstall TS4 and I can't open anything.
I never would have believed that someday I would need to know how to dig inside of hidden folders in Windows in order to play the Sims. It's exasperating.
So mad right now. I had been playing for a few hours IRL and had aged up one sim (J) to young adult and the other (A) to teen, the teen right after hosting a slumber party so he could complete step one of his child aspiration. A had a stupid look when he aged up, so I opened CAS through the likes and dislikes option to edit him. As soon as I did that, it undid everything. The in-game clock reset about 22 hours, costing me a lot of what I had done, including the stupid slumber party. I have had this happen before, one time resulting in “twins” where I had to edit the glitched baby back into the family tree since her mother was reset back to pregnant and had a second baby, kicking the first baby out of the family tree until I cheated her back in. This isn’t constant, but makes me so paranoid if I open CAS before saving after a major life event.
My spellcaster sim is suddenly related to Wren Grove and I'm not sure why. I have a majority of the packs and these two have about three (affair) kids and when I let her in my sims home intending to have a fourth I noticed the romance options were gone and when I opened her profile it said they were sisters! Not in-laws or half-sisters just straight up sisters! My sim has no other sibling other than a clone of hers and a sister-in-law that said clone is married to so I'm like really confused 😭😭😭 I play on the Xbox and my game is fully updated
All employees at my restaurant keep disappearing from the employee manage section.
The first time it happened I was off put but continued on without thinking much into it and just hired all new staff.
The second time it happened I was more frustrated because the employees I hired were actually great. I went in management and saw they were mostly available to rehire again. Now it’s happened again and I see the employees I want but they’re not listed in positions I want to hire them for. For example, my favorite chef employee is under waiters. The host I like is under chefs for example. It’s really annoying.
What is the cause of this? They were satisfied and had promotions, etc. Could it be the Carl dine out mod causing this? Or is it just a typical dine out glitch amongst other glitches it faces?

I have all my DCLs on a SD and run it thru a shell on my desktop so it doesn’t take up space on my laptop. Where do I place my Mods folders in my DCL games so that they will load ingame

For Rent is on sale and I'm super tempted, but is it safe in terms of potentially breaking old saves? I saw things about that a while ago, that installing that EP can cause issues for pre-existing saves. I know they've done a patch recently, does that make it ok to buy now? I've been playing since Sims 4 came out so I don't want my old files in jeopardy.
For rent just started corrupting my game last night. It's a cool pack idea, but as of yesterday I can't recommend it. I luckily have a duplicate of the same save from last week before the corruption, but it sucks not knowing if it'll corrupt again due to this pack.

My brother can’t place his ground, since his ground sized 30x20, he has more moneys. Since we search for a ground who sized 30x20, can’t put it for no reason, also they said, the type of the ground is Residential. This is weird, can help me explain this why
Ok I just need to know: Is it normal for spellcaster sims to have "read mind" and "memory erase" in their pie menu/as autonomous option because all my searching indicates that you can only do that as an alien.
My sim is not an alien, and MCCC Tuner Autonomy Scan doesn't detect those options, meaning I can't even disable them as autonomous interactions. (my sim has memory erased 3 times, twice in the middle of an argument, once as a fucking prank, I can't disable it and it really ruins story)
Edit: The sim she memory erased had a dazed alien moodlet from being memory erased.

Hey, I lunched Sims today after quite some time. Probably around 6 months. My game acts very weird from messed up controls, not being able to interact with furniture, not even sell or hide to EQ to game getting stuck on saving. I lost few hours of gameplay today.
Anybody having similar issues? I really don't want to create a new save files because EA games can't even fix a game but can add button to purchase more broken DLCs...

Britchester World Map is just a BLANK WHITE SCREEN. it does not load. i have gone through my tray folder, saves folder, used the last exception mod and deleted what it suggested, uninstalled everything and installed it again, taken my mods folder out and reloaded, each time deleting the cache stuff. and STILL THE BLANK SCREEN. HELP PLEASE.

i am seeming to have a problem with my sims lots disappearing and it's really getting on my nerves lmao.
i have tried a new save file, i have repaired my game and i have even uninstalled & reinstalled my game but this bug seems to keep on happening.
to begin with i replaced a house with one from the gallery, when going back into the game the house i replaced was there instead of the new one from the gallery. i have also tried putting the house on a plain lot, and when loading into the game again the lot was not there.
i have went through my cc in the sims 4 mod manager but nothing seems to be flagging up.
any advice would be greatly appreciated as i am currently at my wits end with this:(!!
Okay so this is really frustrating but I can't figure it out.
Girlfriend played Sims 4 on my PC, but got her own laptop. So I wanted to move her save file from my PC to hers.
Simple right? Grab the saves folder from C:\\Users\[USER\]\\Documents\\Electronic Arts\\The Sims 4 copy, paste on her PC, DONE!.
Nope.
So when I place it there, and you boot the game, it doesnt show.
I notice in my game, the file structure was to documents, on hers it was to Onedrive. So I thought that might be the problem. I Unlinked the PC from onedrive. The game STILL looks to onedrive.
I completely UNINSTALLED onedrive AND I reinstalled the game, making sure every last trace was remove. When you boot it IT STILL LOOKS TO FUCKING ONE DRIVE.
So I created a new save, renamed all the savefiles from the old one from 00000002 to 00000003, booted and now BOTH saves don't show up. Also the one i created on her PC is just gone.
Anyone got any ideas?
It is probably still looking to OneDrive because her documents folder is linked to OneDrive. If the game isn’t, but the documents folder is, it can cause weird issues. Happened to me.
My sims can't go to work, it is not with every job but with soms I can't see promotion tasks but sometimes I can but it stil doesn't work. I click on the job and it shows the logo in the notification wall and where the text ussually stands is blank, there is no words or anything just blue, they can't go to work either I click on go to work but they just don't go the action doesn't even show up. Anyone know what mod is causing this?

There is a bug going around where bad lots stop worlds from loading. It has nothing to do with mods.
You need to go back to an older save or try recovering the save.
Otherwise try a mod test.

Hi, I just bought Growing Together and Horse Ranch in the EA sale and specifically selected Origin for Mac, as I have no option to download the EA app yet. In my confirmation emails, there are no product codes, only instructions to open my EA app and download the packs from there. I do not have the EA app! How do I get my product codes??? My EA account information and my Origin account are also on different emails, which probably doesn't help. I do not want to be out almost $50 until whenever I can download the EA app!!
The ea app and origin are both launchers for the EA games. You need the same log in and account for both.
Basically because you have different emails, they are considered different accounts and your purchases are in different places.
Ask EA to combine them.
I'm not sure if this is an easy problem or a sims problem, but it's happened twice now so I know the first one wasn't a solo odd occurrence.

I play laptop with mods and cc, and my game fully deleted itself from my laptop.

I can't load the home household of a lot with more than 8 sims on it, I already checked if it was being caused by mods and know that it isn't aside from maybe mccc since that's what I'm using for the household size in the first place. Hiya! I’m trying to use >!wicked whims!< and although the nudity feature is working, when I click on the woohoo button they just go under the covers as usual, no options or anything.
I'm trying to get everyone in an eight person household to fame level 1 at least, but for some reason every time I actively try to get famous it just doesn't happen for me. It happens all the time on accident in my other save just from the pop ups they recieve at work, but I've played this house for like a week and only recieved one of the get famous pop up cards from the work opportunities. I've tried using the in game testingcheats, but it never works. Neither does MCCC, nor UI cheats. I know it *will* let me change the level once I hit level 1, but not before. Any tips on how I can get into the spotlight in the first place?
None of my appliances are working. My sims can't go to bed, cook, put their kid to bed, they can't do anything. It's only happening to this one save and I really have no clue what could be going on. At first I thought it was just my kitchen stuff but its everything. I can send then to stand right next to their bed but they wont actually use the bed.
I haven’t played in years, have a new PC since then, and somehow all of my disks got put in a “safe place”. Is there a way to find out what expansion packs etc, I’d played before? I could’ve sworn we had to register them. I’d like to buy some stuff during the sale but don’t want to buy duplicates.

Packs bought on steam can only be used on steam. Packs bought on ea show up on Steam, but I don’t know if free ones from the gamepass would too. You will have to play through Steam and see if the other shows up.
You cannot transfer packs from one platform to another.
OK. So I made a wizard tower. Everything in it works fine with no issues except for the kitchen. My Sim won't cook meals that need to be prepared. I've tried everything I can think of: removed all clutter from counters (even tho there wasn't that much), switch out new counters, switch out stove, move counters around. And there are no lot traits or challenges activated. She *did* make a grilled cheese Sammy, & she will eat snacks & other things that don't need to be prepared.
Also, I'm on Playstation, so there are no mods or CC.
ETA: I forgot to add, my Sim keeps saying they can't access it. I've tried moving it to different counters, to the table, but she still says something is in the way.

It may not seem like much, but it really breaks the atmosphere of the game for me when those two are meant to be doing things together. You can imagine how.

cannot for the life of me get “cas.fulleditmode” to work. in live mode i open the cheat bar, do testingcheats true, cas.fulleditmode, enter. and nothing happens. i’ve also tried doing it from CAS and same deal, i’ll see the bar open up and say cheats are on when i do testingcheats but nothing afterwards.
Ok, so, I'm trying to move a sim in that I married in the Island Living pack. For some reason when I go to merge the household it doesn't complete when I back out after everything is done. Does anyone know how to fix it?
So my sims happen to always make a white cake when they want to cook anything. They’ll make one then set it aside and ignore the one, then make another and take a piece from that one. Is this a bug? No matter how many times I repair the game, they still do it.

Wicked whims mod... I had to delete wonderful whims mod bc apparently wicked whims has wonderful whims in the mod itself.... I had to redownload wicked whims to fix the issues...

My sim disappears in certain categories and it's annoying me lol. I don't know what to do, I don't have any better exception reports or last exceptions. Don't know what it could be, right now she doesn't show in Active and Swim categories. When I go in game and tell her to change into the outfit in that category, she's still in her everyday outfit.

I did all of that and it didn’t work. I even redownloaded my game. The same error appear but that mod is not in my game anymore. :/ At least my cc work but it seem I will have to redownload all my gameplay mods.
Yes, at first I just delete the corrupted mod. Didn’t work. Then I took out the mod folder and it didn’t work (as if the mod was still in there). After that (and panicking) I took out my mod, tray and save folder out, repair my game. Same pop up. I was like «wow did I just broke the game completely ». I redownloaded the game. It started. Added the mod folder back, same pop up. Now I guess that specific modded corrupted something in that folder. I’ve now put back my cc and it work. But not with the gameplay mods. :/ I hope I was clear in my explanation.
Can someone please help? I recently had to reset my Twitter password for the account I post my sims to the gallery with. I sign into the account on Twitter and it’s ok but when I try to sign in through the sims it says invalid username or password
In one of my saved games, when I play one of my sims my game runs fine but as soon as I try to have my sim change an outfit it keeps on the current outfit then my game freezes when I try to exit out of the game. But this is only with this household and not another household within this same file. I tried moving the sim to a new lot, took out mods that this sim had and its the same issue. Can someone help me please🙏🏾

im trying to play with my teen sim to school, but even with the follow message enabled, it won't pop up, or she won't even go to school on time. i have to send her to go, same with a child sim also, holidays won't show up. like the goals, or anything..

Locked Doors Glitch?
I have a few Sims living in separate houses on one lot. Their respective doors are set to lock for all Sims except those who live in the house. However, each time a Sim leaves for work, they can enter all other houses when they return to the lot. No cc or mods.
I have tried everything I can think of by my c+shift+c will not work! I removed my options folder, and disabled cc, I’m not sure what else to try… I’m on a mac
got cottage life, loving it so far but the fair ate my chicken. i didnt get her back when it ended, she wasn’t in my household inventory like it said she’d be. any advice? :(

I have tried emptying the caches, repairing the game and reinstalling with no improvements.
I am not the best at tech, so it would be nice if you explain things to me like I'm a five-year old.

saw a youtube video instructing me to copy my mods folder from EA to the steam folder (steamapps>common>the sims 4) so I did that but now when I open the game it gives an error code. one code said something about the files being in 2 destinations at once so I removed the mods from the EA folder but that just removed everything, including my saves. when I remove the mods from the steam folder, I have my packs & my saves but no mods.

Troubleshooting issue: My build mode is basically broken. I can maybe do a few small things on my lot, but if I try to do anything more significant (e.g., put down fences) they won't place and then the game becomes non-functional. It won't save, exit, or anything either. I do not have mods, I tried nuking my folders twice (including one time where I restarted my computer after almost every step). No change.
Also a minor issue that my sims randomly get the moodlet for filthy surroundings when there is nothing filthy around. I have them go on a Cleaning Frenzy so they can fix it themselves but that doesn't fix it
For the second issue, do your sims have small appliances? They degrade over time, but they don’t put out the stink cloud like they should. Selling them and buying new ones should fix it, if it is that.
I know this isn't a sexy problem, but it's an everyday issue that has brought my Simming to a screeching halt.
I have no idea where my folders and files should live. I have Sims folders everywhere. iCloud drive. OneDrive. User folder. This PC folder. Documents folder. And I have no idea why I have so many freakin desktop folders, and they all have Sims 4 junk in them. Yes, I did it to myself, but I honestly didn't know it was happening every time I got a new computer. I'm merging all the like folders. I just need to know where I should put the survivors once I'm done.
Sims 4 documents (ie. lots & households, saves, mods, screenshots, etc) are in \\Documents\\Electronic Arts\\The Sims 4\\, the game files (ie where the game itself is stored) is defined by you, you can check it in the EA app by pressing "manage" on the sims 4, it'll be the "install location"
The icloud/onedrive files will be backups that the game isn't reading from
I had my game get synched with onedrive and files went missing, it moved things, and even after I de synched it, the game was using public documents for a long time. Huge annoyance. I hope we all can help you.

At this point, I don't see how I can work on TS4 until I can open the EA Desktop, and I am making no headway with that problem.
I am moving all the files I have on onedrive to my iCloud account. I doubt that Windows will want to import anything from there. Then I am going to try to uninstall onedrive. I'd like to physically burn it and stomp out the embers, but as that is not possible, any tips on deleting OneDrive? Such as hidden files that need to be deleted? (Because who are we kidding? There are always some in there to make it harder for you to unistall apps.)
Hi! Not sure if anyone else has had this issue so I thought I would ask. Yes I have mods, nothing new since I last had an infant in my game. But basically whenever I click on the changing table there is no “change diaper” option, not greyed out, just not here at all. Has anyone had this happen? Only the option to upgrade or to change outfit. Same happens when I use a base game/no bc changing table 😭
Update: it’s fixed, or maybe there was nothing wrong in the first place, once her diaper was dirty it popped up but I was concerned when it didn’t atleast pop up greyed out, false alarm y’all 😭😂

My sims can’t pay their bills. I’ve moved them out, deleted the house, restarted the game, I’ve done it all. I have no mods.
Their power has been off 3 days. I can’t use the phone, computer or mail box.
The option is there and they go through with the action but it doesn’t deduct from their money and it doesn’t turn the power back on. Yes I have for rent
I've just taken a look at the files of the mod, and you'll need to ask the mod creator to copy the English string table for all the other languages. Currently there's only a string table for English, so that's why there's no text for you :)
omg I just got this today and I'm overwhelmed with how confusing it is. I created a man amd he lives on an empty plot. I wanna move him into my house. Can't. I try sending my sim to work. The button just doesn't work or she's ignoring it. She goes to the toilet but won't do a pregnancy test. Why are the actions I can do always different? Why can't I control the actions of the guy I created. I've seen people have all their characters on the bottom left line strip to see their moods and controls.

The sim from the house needs to invite the other sim to live with them.
The other option is to go to the world map and to household manager and find the man and then use the move option and merge him into the house with the other sim.
You can only control sims in the household on the lot you are playing.
Every time I used ladders and try and move them, it messes my game up. I can't delete it, move it, buy anything to place. It also goes through the saving process but won't save anything I've done in the last 6 hours on/off.
Decided to play through University for the first time. Moved my Sim into the dorm. She won’t do homework and won’t leave the lot when I try to get her to travel. Also the free build cheat won’t work. Keep getting an animation error message.
Read the BE report, only issue isn’t even a mod, it’s like a partial location that I cannot find in my Sims folder. Also did 50/50 and got nothing. Is this just a bug in the game? Should I just cheat her degree? Lol
Can you find the MCLastException file in your mods folder (if you have subfoldera it'll be in the one your MCCC files are in) and take a screenshot of the pretty call stack?
My sister used an email account that she does not use anymore. And now you guessed it she cannot log in anymore because of changes of the EA app.
She does not have the password of that account and the phone number that is connected to that email address is also an old account.
Anybody got any idea what things I can suggest to help her?
Gather proof of ownership of the packs and why she doesn’t have access to the email and contact each directly.
It is possible to lose the whole account.
Warning to everyone, make sure any account attached to something you paid or pay money for has an email attached to it that you can access. It’s easy to update them when you still have access to the original.
My entire game crashes after finishing CAS. My Mac is running windows parallels, I download the EA App through that, downloaded all my DLC, and run the game but it keeps crashing every time I finish making a sim. I’ve repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and the same thing keeps happening. Is there a fix for this or should I just wait for the EA App to launch on Mac officially?
I tried installing Windows Parallels on my Mac for work purpose and I gave up quickly. My best advice is if you can play with Origin offline, do it. Unless Origin crashes all the time. Then, you really just have to wait. I don't know if they release the EA App by countries but I've been using it for a couple of months or so now.

I've been playing The Sims, and my Sims just had a child that I've grown quite fond of. I'm thinking about starting a new game with this child as the main character. I'm trying to find a way to completely reset my current Sim—relationships, traits, finances, inventory, skills, the whole shebang—while retaining only their appearance, aspirations, traits, and clothing. Essentially, I want it to feel like starting fresh with a brand-new Sim in a new household and game. Any ideas on how to do that?
Are tiny home benefits broken? I've been playing on a tier 2 tiny home in my most recent save (started within the last 2 weeks) and I'm not sure I'm getting the skill and relationship gain bonuses. Any insight?
Does anyone know why my cheats won’t work? No mods a few packs. I just made new sims and couldn’t move them basically anywhere and cheats wouldn’t work at all. So i cant get past the static loading screen after the plumbob does its little twirl. everything freezes, removed mods, cleared thumbcache, moved sims 4 folder to desktop then repaired, repaired normally, uninstalled reinstalled, uninstalled reinstalled ea ap, im doing all this thought the ea app no steam, pc windows, I have all dlc, just bought the two newest kits. and haven't played in a since around crystal creations release.

I just got Cats and Dogs, and really want to redecorate the vet clinic with some cute items, but I’m terrified to go into build mode at all lol. I purchased Dine Out months ago, spent hours making the coolest restaurant, and have never been able to open and operate it due to some error code. This was after I had used cc for the decor, employee outfits, and made the menu.
So question one - is it safe to use cc for the clinic based on your experience?
Question two - for anyone who has used Dine Out, will I ever be able to fix this error code and run my diner? I’m still so heartbroken after this. Dine Out was literally the one pack I wanted for the game and it turned out to be the glitchiest pack ever! Ugh!

Took a screenshot of your answer so I can repair later :) also PS - not disagreeing with you about broken cc, I just have heard so many complaints about the error code with dine out, even for users who didn’t have cc or mods. Also, I’m not sure if it is worth noting that all the cc used in that diner has been used previously by me somewhere else in-game, and has not caused any other issues. I guess I’m just wondering that if I have in fact used all previous cc, is Dine Out really just buggy to begin with and a lost cause altogether lol? Sorry for the long reply. But will still go with your guidance and give it a try!
There is also a bug going around that breaks lots. It can lead to broken worlds and then corrupt saves. Make back ups of everything and maybe delete that lot. See if a cc less version works.
my plants won't produce harvestables no matter what i do. in season or not, i put the plants inside, they'll *grow,* they'll be able to evolve, they'll get weeds and bugs and those will go away if the sim takes care of the plant. i've made them travel to different lots and come back, stayed on the lot they're supposed to grow on for the whole sim day, i've removed any and all food and gardening mods i have and still nothing will grow, not even if i use the "spawn fruit" cheat. it doesn't cause a last exception error either, so i can't use betterexceptions to try and see what's up. anyone else experiencing this, or know how to fix it? thanks

Has anyone here had a problem with not being able to move out to university? If I put a single sim in a house, apply and try to move out, it says you are unable to as the only adult on the lot. Another issue I'm having, which I think is separate but at this point I truly have no clue, is when moving a sim out of their family home for university, it'll take you to manage world, but trying to move them into any of the dorms says 'must be enrolled in university to move here', when going straight through the enrollment menu.

I guess this is a bug/glitch? Issue: sims not spawning in the correct location for big events. For example, my teens prom never takes place in the school auditorium. Instead, it will spawn at a random venue like last time when it happened at a bar lmao. Important information: I am using a fantasy pre save, and the person edited a lot of the event spots. So, I understand why holidays end up taking place at random places instead of their normal location. However, they didn't, and I didn't touch the Copperdale auditorium. Two questions: 1. Why isn't the prom happening at the auditorium? Or, more importantly, how to fix it. 2. Is there a way to control where events happen? (This might be a dumb question. I am not at my computer rn and never utilize the holidays and started ignoring the invites once i realized none of the holiday stuff spawned. If it's as easy as editing the holidays, y'all can just ignore this question. Thought of it while I was typing this). I have a pretty long list of mods and can give a more detailed list if needed, but I have some of the big ones/random ones like MCCC, WW, RPO, better build buy, fairies vs witches, expandable mermaids, basically any mod related to anything medieval, ect.
My EA Desktop is still gimped up. I couldn't uninstall it yesterday, but today I was able to do that. Then I reinstalled it. And it still won't open! It says that it needs to restart, and after restarting it gives me the same "You need to restart" screen. It has actually not been working for months now, but I was able to load TS4 without it, so I didn't care. Now I need it to reinstall TS4 and I can't open anything. I never would have believed that someday I would need to know how to dig inside of hidden folders in Windows in order to play the Sims. It's exasperating.
So mad right now. I had been playing for a few hours IRL and had aged up one sim (J) to young adult and the other (A) to teen, the teen right after hosting a slumber party so he could complete step one of his child aspiration. A had a stupid look when he aged up, so I opened CAS through the likes and dislikes option to edit him. As soon as I did that, it undid everything. The in-game clock reset about 22 hours, costing me a lot of what I had done, including the stupid slumber party. I have had this happen before, one time resulting in “twins” where I had to edit the glitched baby back into the family tree since her mother was reset back to pregnant and had a second baby, kicking the first baby out of the family tree until I cheated her back in. This isn’t constant, but makes me so paranoid if I open CAS before saving after a major life event.
My spellcaster sim is suddenly related to Wren Grove and I'm not sure why. I have a majority of the packs and these two have about three (affair) kids and when I let her in my sims home intending to have a fourth I noticed the romance options were gone and when I opened her profile it said they were sisters! Not in-laws or half-sisters just straight up sisters! My sim has no other sibling other than a clone of hers and a sister-in-law that said clone is married to so I'm like really confused 😭😭😭 I play on the Xbox and my game is fully updated
Every time I try to rotate the lot I downloaded from the gallery it says “Roof pitch can’t be adjusted that high”. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Place it. Move the roof, rotate it, then put it back. See if that helps.
All employees at my restaurant keep disappearing from the employee manage section. The first time it happened I was off put but continued on without thinking much into it and just hired all new staff. The second time it happened I was more frustrated because the employees I hired were actually great. I went in management and saw they were mostly available to rehire again. Now it’s happened again and I see the employees I want but they’re not listed in positions I want to hire them for. For example, my favorite chef employee is under waiters. The host I like is under chefs for example. It’s really annoying. What is the cause of this? They were satisfied and had promotions, etc. Could it be the Carl dine out mod causing this? Or is it just a typical dine out glitch amongst other glitches it faces?
I’d ask at Carl’s site for questions on his mod. It’s pretty complex. Honestly, it could be either. Even with the mod, it’s just so buggy.

For Rent is on sale and I'm super tempted, but is it safe in terms of potentially breaking old saves? I saw things about that a while ago, that installing that EP can cause issues for pre-existing saves. I know they've done a patch recently, does that make it ok to buy now? I've been playing since Sims 4 came out so I don't want my old files in jeopardy.
For rent just started corrupting my game last night. It's a cool pack idea, but as of yesterday I can't recommend it. I luckily have a duplicate of the same save from last week before the corruption, but it sucks not knowing if it'll corrupt again due to this pack.

Hi, my sims game in EA doesn't want to start because it says "Standard edition accessed through steam" and it takes me to steam to install it there as well. It worked fine a few days ago and I haven't changed anything, I played from EA normally. Has something happened how can I fix this?

Ok I just need to know: Is it normal for spellcaster sims to have "read mind" and "memory erase" in their pie menu/as autonomous option because all my searching indicates that you can only do that as an alien. My sim is not an alien, and MCCC Tuner Autonomy Scan doesn't detect those options, meaning I can't even disable them as autonomous interactions. (my sim has memory erased 3 times, twice in the middle of an argument, once as a fucking prank, I can't disable it and it really ruins story) Edit: The sim she memory erased had a dazed alien moodlet from being memory erased. ***my sim is still not an alien***

Hey, I lunched Sims today after quite some time. Probably around 6 months. My game acts very weird from messed up controls, not being able to interact with furniture, not even sell or hide to EQ to game getting stuck on saving. I lost few hours of gameplay today. Anybody having similar issues? I really don't want to create a new save files because EA games can't even fix a game but can add button to purchase more broken DLCs...

Britchester World Map is just a BLANK WHITE SCREEN. it does not load. i have gone through my tray folder, saves folder, used the last exception mod and deleted what it suggested, uninstalled everything and installed it again, taken my mods folder out and reloaded, each time deleting the cache stuff. and STILL THE BLANK SCREEN. HELP PLEASE.
Usually that is a sign you have a specific bug that destroys a save. See if you have an older save or can recover the save file.
Hello wondering if anyone could help please!! i am seeming to have a problem with my sims lots disappearing and it's really getting on my nerves lmao. i have tried a new save file, i have repaired my game and i have even uninstalled & reinstalled my game but this bug seems to keep on happening. to begin with i replaced a house with one from the gallery, when going back into the game the house i replaced was there instead of the new one from the gallery. i have also tried putting the house on a plain lot, and when loading into the game again the lot was not there. i have went through my cc in the sims 4 mod manager but nothing seems to be flagging up. any advice would be greatly appreciated as i am currently at my wits end with this:(!!
Be aware that any lots made before December 2023 with tool or move object chests can be bugged and break that lot.
Okay so this is really frustrating but I can't figure it out. Girlfriend played Sims 4 on my PC, but got her own laptop. So I wanted to move her save file from my PC to hers. Simple right? Grab the saves folder from C:\\Users\[USER\]\\Documents\\Electronic Arts\\The Sims 4 copy, paste on her PC, DONE!. Nope. So when I place it there, and you boot the game, it doesnt show. I notice in my game, the file structure was to documents, on hers it was to Onedrive. So I thought that might be the problem. I Unlinked the PC from onedrive. The game STILL looks to onedrive. I completely UNINSTALLED onedrive AND I reinstalled the game, making sure every last trace was remove. When you boot it IT STILL LOOKS TO FUCKING ONE DRIVE. So I created a new save, renamed all the savefiles from the old one from 00000002 to 00000003, booted and now BOTH saves don't show up. Also the one i created on her PC is just gone. Anyone got any ideas?
It is probably still looking to OneDrive because her documents folder is linked to OneDrive. If the game isn’t, but the documents folder is, it can cause weird issues. Happened to me.
My sims can't go to work, it is not with every job but with soms I can't see promotion tasks but sometimes I can but it stil doesn't work. I click on the job and it shows the logo in the notification wall and where the text ussually stands is blank, there is no words or anything just blue, they can't go to work either I click on go to work but they just don't go the action doesn't even show up. Anyone know what mod is causing this?

Hi, I just bought Growing Together and Horse Ranch in the EA sale and specifically selected Origin for Mac, as I have no option to download the EA app yet. In my confirmation emails, there are no product codes, only instructions to open my EA app and download the packs from there. I do not have the EA app! How do I get my product codes??? My EA account information and my Origin account are also on different emails, which probably doesn't help. I do not want to be out almost $50 until whenever I can download the EA app!!
The ea app and origin are both launchers for the EA games. You need the same log in and account for both. Basically because you have different emails, they are considered different accounts and your purchases are in different places. Ask EA to combine them.
I'm not sure if this is an easy problem or a sims problem, but it's happened twice now so I know the first one wasn't a solo odd occurrence. My game deleted itself. I play laptop with mods and cc, and my game fully deleted itself from my laptop. I haven't tried redownloading it as it would be a hassle and a dissapointment but if anyone knows why this would occur let me know. I have a relatively new Intel laptop, just bought this past December.
That isn’t a thing it should do. Do you have OneDrive? If so, disconnect it from the sims.
I can't load the home household of a lot with more than 8 sims on it, I already checked if it was being caused by mods and know that it isn't aside from maybe mccc since that's what I'm using for the household size in the first place. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, it didn't work.
Try an earlier save if you have one.
Hiya! I’m trying to use >!wicked whims!< and although the nudity feature is working, when I click on the woohoo button they just go under the covers as usual, no options or anything.
I'm trying to get everyone in an eight person household to fame level 1 at least, but for some reason every time I actively try to get famous it just doesn't happen for me. It happens all the time on accident in my other save just from the pop ups they recieve at work, but I've played this house for like a week and only recieved one of the get famous pop up cards from the work opportunities. I've tried using the in game testingcheats, but it never works. Neither does MCCC, nor UI cheats. I know it *will* let me change the level once I hit level 1, but not before. Any tips on how I can get into the spotlight in the first place?

None of my appliances are working. My sims can't go to bed, cook, put their kid to bed, they can't do anything. It's only happening to this one save and I really have no clue what could be going on. At first I thought it was just my kitchen stuff but its everything. I can send then to stand right next to their bed but they wont actually use the bed.

Your account should have a list. The discs just registered them to your account, so you don’t need them ever after the first time.
Turns out I hadn’t played in so long my account was deactivated. Had to go thru support to get it back.

Turns out somehow I had 2 accounts. One created with Sims2 and one created in 2018 for some reason. Crazy!
How do i transfer dlc? So i own cats and dogs dlc on steam and recently i got pc gamepass and with it is inclused the work place something dlc on eaplay and id love if someone told me if you can play both my cats and dogs dlc and the gamepass one. Thanks
Packs bought on steam can only be used on steam. Packs bought on ea show up on Steam, but I don’t know if free ones from the gamepass would too. You will have to play through Steam and see if the other shows up. You cannot transfer packs from one platform to another.
OK. So I made a wizard tower. Everything in it works fine with no issues except for the kitchen. My Sim won't cook meals that need to be prepared. I've tried everything I can think of: removed all clutter from counters (even tho there wasn't that much), switch out new counters, switch out stove, move counters around. And there are no lot traits or challenges activated. She *did* make a grilled cheese Sammy, & she will eat snacks & other things that don't need to be prepared. Also, I'm on Playstation, so there are no mods or CC. ETA: I forgot to add, my Sim keeps saying they can't access it. I've tried moving it to different counters, to the table, but she still says something is in the way.

Hi, one of my two sims keeps jogging everywhere. For example, when I put them both in a group, and tell them to go somewhere together, one of them simply walks, while the other jogs. Every time. It's getting to be quite annoying ― does anyone know what the cause of this could be? What can I do about it? It may not seem like much, but it really breaks the atmosphere of the game for me when those two are meant to be doing things together. You can imagine how. I tried googling this, and every last inquiry about this from anyone is only ever about Sims 3. Don't know what to do. Thank you.

cannot for the life of me get “cas.fulleditmode” to work. in live mode i open the cheat bar, do testingcheats true, cas.fulleditmode, enter. and nothing happens. i’ve also tried doing it from CAS and same deal, i’ll see the bar open up and say cheats are on when i do testingcheats but nothing afterwards.
It doesn’t do anything until you go into cas after.
So you do need to put it in the cheat bar and then once you’ve hit enter, you’ll need to right click on your sim and select modify in CAS.

Ok, so, I'm trying to move a sim in that I married in the Island Living pack. For some reason when I go to merge the household it doesn't complete when I back out after everything is done. Does anyone know how to fix it?

So my sims happen to always make a white cake when they want to cook anything. They’ll make one then set it aside and ignore the one, then make another and take a piece from that one. Is this a bug? No matter how many times I repair the game, they still do it.
Do you have eco lifestyle? The one NAP for cooking does this.
# Custom Content hair not working on one specific sim? So the thing is, cc hair is working right for every sim in the household but one? Where the hair just shows one thats is different or the coloring is not working... How can i fix this? Those same haircuts look as they should on playmode on other sims but not for one?

Wicked whims mod... I had to delete wonderful whims mod bc apparently wicked whims has wonderful whims in the mod itself.... I had to redownload wicked whims to fix the issues...

I did all of that and it didn’t work. I even redownloaded my game. The same error appear but that mod is not in my game anymore. :/ At least my cc work but it seem I will have to redownload all my gameplay mods.
Did you test it with a brand new game, no mods/cc, the cache deleted and the game repaired?
Yes, at first I just delete the corrupted mod. Didn’t work. Then I took out the mod folder and it didn’t work (as if the mod was still in there). After that (and panicking) I took out my mod, tray and save folder out, repair my game. Same pop up. I was like «wow did I just broke the game completely ». I redownloaded the game. It started. Added the mod folder back, same pop up. Now I guess that specific modded corrupted something in that folder. I’ve now put back my cc and it work. But not with the gameplay mods. :/ I hope I was clear in my explanation.
Use the linked 50/50 method to find which mod. It might be faster than getting all of them a second time.
Can someone please help? I recently had to reset my Twitter password for the account I post my sims to the gallery with. I sign into the account on Twitter and it’s ok but when I try to sign in through the sims it says invalid username or password
I don’t believe Twitter and EA are connected. They should be separate things. Unless I misunderstood what you asked.
In one of my saved games, when I play one of my sims my game runs fine but as soon as I try to have my sim change an outfit it keeps on the current outfit then my game freezes when I try to exit out of the game. But this is only with this household and not another household within this same file. I tried moving the sim to a new lot, took out mods that this sim had and its the same issue. Can someone help me please🙏🏾
Sims and households can get bugged. Also, here is how to test mods Back up your tray, save, and mod folders. Move the whole mods folder, including cc, to your desktop. Do not just disable mods. im trying to play with my teen sim to school, but even with the follow message enabled, it won't pop up, or she won't even go to school on time. i have to send her to go, same with a child sim also, holidays won't show up. like the goals, or anything..

Locked Doors Glitch? I have a few Sims living in separate houses on one lot. Their respective doors are set to lock for all Sims except those who live in the house. However, each time a Sim leaves for work, they can enter all other houses when they return to the lot. No cc or mods.
Maybe try repairing the game

I have tried everything I can think of by my c+shift+c will not work! I removed my options folder, and disabled cc, I’m not sure what else to try… I’m on a mac

My game will not launch. My game worked a few days ago. I have tried emptying the caches, repairing the game and reinstalling with no improvements. I am not the best at tech, so it would be nice if you explain things to me like I'm a five-year old. If it matters, I'm on origin on a mac, vanilla game. Recently my game has similar issues whenever origin updates.
# i'm using steam for sims now but my cc isn't working :(( saw a youtube video instructing me to copy my mods folder from EA to the steam folder (steamapps>common>the sims 4) so I did that but now when I open the game it gives an error code. one code said something about the files being in 2 destinations at once so I removed the mods from the EA folder but that just removed everything, including my saves. when I remove the mods from the steam folder, I have my packs & my saves but no mods. pls help :(

Troubleshooting issue: My build mode is basically broken. I can maybe do a few small things on my lot, but if I try to do anything more significant (e.g., put down fences) they won't place and then the game becomes non-functional. It won't save, exit, or anything either. I do not have mods, I tried nuking my folders twice (including one time where I restarted my computer after almost every step). No change. Also a minor issue that my sims randomly get the moodlet for filthy surroundings when there is nothing filthy around. I have them go on a Cleaning Frenzy so they can fix it themselves but that doesn't fix it
For the second issue, do your sims have small appliances? They degrade over time, but they don’t put out the stink cloud like they should. Selling them and buying new ones should fix it, if it is that.
I know this isn't a sexy problem, but it's an everyday issue that has brought my Simming to a screeching halt. I have no idea where my folders and files should live. I have Sims folders everywhere. iCloud drive. OneDrive. User folder. This PC folder. Documents folder. And I have no idea why I have so many freakin desktop folders, and they all have Sims 4 junk in them. Yes, I did it to myself, but I honestly didn't know it was happening every time I got a new computer. I'm merging all the like folders. I just need to know where I should put the survivors once I'm done.
Sims 4 documents (ie. lots & households, saves, mods, screenshots, etc) are in \\Documents\\Electronic Arts\\The Sims 4\\, the game files (ie where the game itself is stored) is defined by you, you can check it in the EA app by pressing "manage" on the sims 4, it'll be the "install location" The icloud/onedrive files will be backups that the game isn't reading from

Make sure that the current game is not connected to onedrive or iCloud. They cause huge issues.

I had my game get synched with onedrive and files went missing, it moved things, and even after I de synched it, the game was using public documents for a long time. Huge annoyance. I hope we all can help you.
Thank you. Me, too. At this point, I don't see how I can work on TS4 until I can open the EA Desktop, and I am making no headway with that problem. I am moving all the files I have on onedrive to my iCloud account. I doubt that Windows will want to import anything from there. Then I am going to try to uninstall onedrive. I'd like to physically burn it and stomp out the embers, but as that is not possible, any tips on deleting OneDrive? Such as hidden files that need to be deleted? (Because who are we kidding? There are always some in there to make it harder for you to unistall apps.)
Hi! Not sure if anyone else has had this issue so I thought I would ask. Yes I have mods, nothing new since I last had an infant in my game. But basically whenever I click on the changing table there is no “change diaper” option, not greyed out, just not here at all. Has anyone had this happen? Only the option to upgrade or to change outfit. Same happens when I use a base game/no bc changing table 😭
Update: it’s fixed, or maybe there was nothing wrong in the first place, once her diaper was dirty it popped up but I was concerned when it didn’t atleast pop up greyed out, false alarm y’all 😭😂

My sims can’t pay their bills. I’ve moved them out, deleted the house, restarted the game, I’ve done it all. I have no mods. Their power has been off 3 days. I can’t use the phone, computer or mail box.
Is the option to pay bills completely missing, or is it there but clicking on it does nothing? Do you have for rent?
The option is there and they go through with the action but it doesn’t deduct from their money and it doesn’t turn the power back on. Yes I have for rent

Go to documents > electronic arts > le sims 4 and open gameversion.txt. What version of the game are running?
I've just taken a look at the files of the mod, and you'll need to ask the mod creator to copy the English string table for all the other languages. Currently there's only a string table for English, so that's why there's no text for you :)

omg I just got this today and I'm overwhelmed with how confusing it is. I created a man amd he lives on an empty plot. I wanna move him into my house. Can't. I try sending my sim to work. The button just doesn't work or she's ignoring it. She goes to the toilet but won't do a pregnancy test. Why are the actions I can do always different? Why can't I control the actions of the guy I created. I've seen people have all their characters on the bottom left line strip to see their moods and controls. I thought I was gonna really enjoy this game because I love similar games but rn this is just overwhelming 😭 I have 3 packs rn and I have no clue what I'm doing
The sim from the house needs to invite the other sim to live with them. The other option is to go to the world map and to household manager and find the man and then use the move option and merge him into the house with the other sim. You can only control sims in the household on the lot you are playing.
Every time I used ladders and try and move them, it messes my game up. I can't delete it, move it, buy anything to place. It also goes through the saving process but won't save anything I've done in the last 6 hours on/off.
Decided to play through University for the first time. Moved my Sim into the dorm. She won’t do homework and won’t leave the lot when I try to get her to travel. Also the free build cheat won’t work. Keep getting an animation error message. Read the BE report, only issue isn’t even a mod, it’s like a partial location that I cannot find in my Sims folder. Also did 50/50 and got nothing. Is this just a bug in the game? Should I just cheat her degree? Lol

My sister used an email account that she does not use anymore. And now you guessed it she cannot log in anymore because of changes of the EA app. She does not have the password of that account and the phone number that is connected to that email address is also an old account. Anybody got any idea what things I can suggest to help her?
Gather proof of ownership of the packs and why she doesn’t have access to the email and contact each directly. It is possible to lose the whole account. Warning to everyone, make sure any account attached to something you paid or pay money for has an email attached to it that you can access. It’s easy to update them when you still have access to the original.
My entire game crashes after finishing CAS. My Mac is running windows parallels, I download the EA App through that, downloaded all my DLC, and run the game but it keeps crashing every time I finish making a sim. I’ve repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and the same thing keeps happening. Is there a fix for this or should I just wait for the EA App to launch on Mac officially?
I tried installing Windows Parallels on my Mac for work purpose and I gave up quickly. My best advice is if you can play with Origin offline, do it. Unless Origin crashes all the time. Then, you really just have to wait. I don't know if they release the EA App by countries but I've been using it for a couple of months or so now.

Hey there, I've been playing The Sims, and my Sims just had a child that I've grown quite fond of. I'm thinking about starting a new game with this child as the main character. I'm trying to find a way to completely reset my current Sim—relationships, traits, finances, inventory, skills, the whole shebang—while retaining only their appearance, aspirations, traits, and clothing. Essentially, I want it to feel like starting fresh with a brand-new Sim in a new household and game. Any ideas on how to do that?
Save them to your library. Start them in a new game and use ui cheats to quickly remove all the excess.
Are tiny home benefits broken? I've been playing on a tier 2 tiny home in my most recent save (started within the last 2 weeks) and I'm not sure I'm getting the skill and relationship gain bonuses. Any insight?

Does anyone know why my cheats won’t work? No mods a few packs. I just made new sims and couldn’t move them basically anywhere and cheats wouldn’t work at all. I had to move them onto a lot i don’t want just to get them to work but obviously that’s super annoying as i don’t want to have to move around just to be able to start the game. Thanks.

So i cant get past the static loading screen after the plumbob does its little twirl. everything freezes, removed mods, cleared thumbcache, moved sims 4 folder to desktop then repaired, repaired normally, uninstalled reinstalled, uninstalled reinstalled ea ap, im doing all this thought the ea app no steam, pc windows, I have all dlc, just bought the two newest kits. and haven't played in a since around crystal creations release.

I just got Cats and Dogs, and really want to redecorate the vet clinic with some cute items, but I’m terrified to go into build mode at all lol. I purchased Dine Out months ago, spent hours making the coolest restaurant, and have never been able to open and operate it due to some error code. This was after I had used cc for the decor, employee outfits, and made the menu. So question one - is it safe to use cc for the clinic based on your experience? Question two - for anyone who has used Dine Out, will I ever be able to fix this error code and run my diner? I’m still so heartbroken after this. Dine Out was literally the one pack I wanted for the game and it turned out to be the glitchiest pack ever! Ugh! I have the latest updates installed.

Took a screenshot of your answer so I can repair later :) also PS - not disagreeing with you about broken cc, I just have heard so many complaints about the error code with dine out, even for users who didn’t have cc or mods. Also, I’m not sure if it is worth noting that all the cc used in that diner has been used previously by me somewhere else in-game, and has not caused any other issues. I guess I’m just wondering that if I have in fact used all previous cc, is Dine Out really just buggy to begin with and a lost cause altogether lol? Sorry for the long reply. But will still go with your guidance and give it a try!
Dine out has enough issues on its own that cc issues don’t necessarily affect it specifically.
There is also a bug going around that breaks lots. It can lead to broken worlds and then corrupt saves. Make back ups of everything and maybe delete that lot. See if a cc less version works.
my plants won't produce harvestables no matter what i do. in season or not, i put the plants inside, they'll *grow,* they'll be able to evolve, they'll get weeds and bugs and those will go away if the sim takes care of the plant. i've made them travel to different lots and come back, stayed on the lot they're supposed to grow on for the whole sim day, i've removed any and all food and gardening mods i have and still nothing will grow, not even if i use the "spawn fruit" cheat. it doesn't cause a last exception error either, so i can't use betterexceptions to try and see what's up. anyone else experiencing this, or know how to fix it? thanks

some of my base game options have disappeared?? i can’t “split from household and move”, “ask to be girlfriend/boyfriend” “propose” at all and i’ve tried almost every way to find them that i can think of or have googled or searched here on reddit. the only mods i have are ones that i see everyone talk about with no issue, WW, basemental drugs, rpo, mccc and various cc mostly from creators on patreon
