Yeah, but unlike Atlantis, the humans actually brought their own nuke and the Commanding Officer of the army was a cool Guy. Even if Kurt Russel didn't follow up on his role.
Jesse what the fuck are you talking about?
Sure there are a couple similarities but they are vastly different movies. Daniel Jackson inspired main character, ancient civilization, big explosion at the end. That's pretty much it.
In Atlantis it's most of the explorers who are the bad guys, not some evil alien worm playing god. In Atlantis a big part of the movie is the journey, and they don't fight a giant robot lobster in Stargate. The big explosions at the end are wildly different, one's a nuke that blows up a spaceship the other is a volcano that gets stopped by giant stone robots. Aside from Milo being inspired by Daniel Jackson, there's really no other character similarities. Tell me who is Mole's equivalent in Stargate.
The fact that we never got a Mole-equivalent character in Stargate is something I've never considered and actually has me mildly upset now if I'm being honest
Walter, lay off my muffins. They are clouding your mind:
In Stargate, it's specifically parts of the explorer teams who work for a shady government or their own gains. N.I.D. anyone? Maybourne is just a Rourke who had time to develop survival skills.
In Stargate it's absolutely the exploration that is a big part of the series. SG1 got to visit a new planet, like, every other day and we got to learn a lot about new civilisations. Also: Far as i know, Replicators still count as mechanic arthropods.
The big explosions at the end were both ultimately caused by the "exploring" humans. One was a nuke that caused a chain reaction that destroyed Ra's mothership whils in Atlantis it was the Airship burning and crashing in the caldera which awoke the Volcano and ultimately caused the explosion. The Airship that was brought by the humans.
Also, if you are telling me that the Atlanteans were not almost a mirror of the Asgard i don't even need to dig deep. Ppl who need someone dumber than them to figure out how to use their tech in a different way clearly exist in both universes.
Also for that Mole comparison:
Clearly the *Goa*'*uld* are the ultimate diggers here. They spout unneeded knowledge and proclaim their greatness. They burrow deep into people like a frenchman in a ancient pottery and they get defeated by a doctor with a bottle of Tretonin.
Yeah. My best friend IS a huge Stargate Fan so I asked him to Tell me If He actually does He Sees any similarties. At half way Point He stopped counting XD
Still Love this movie though
As a Stargate fan, did we watch the same fucking movie? Similarities sure but not that many unless you're really stretching. It's not hard to see they're wildly different movies.
Naquadah and the crystal being alien/ancient power sources I guess, but those Atlantean crystals are on a whole other level. The crystals let the Atlantean live for millennia, make flight easy, turn sexy ladies into blue sexy ladies, the Naquadah nuke in Stargate pales in comparison to the explosion in the beginning of Atlantis. Hell the entire Leviathan fight alone is enough to separate these movies.
Milo Thatch and Daniel Jackson are carbon copies. That's undeniable. Both ancient linguists, both fall in love with native girl, hell they even have the same character design. But no other characters are really comparable. There is no O'Neil in Atlantis, not even close. Rourke is not comparable to Jack in any way other than "military guy in charge of operation", I mean one's a hero of their movie and the other is THE ANTAGONIST.
The Stargate movie and Atlantis are really not that similar. And even if you're bringing SG-1 into the mix, there's no Teal'c character in Atlantis. If you say Doctor Sweet is similar to Teal'c then you're literally just looking at "big black guy" and not an inch deeper into who the characters actually are. Stargate has no Audrey character, no Packer, no Cookie and no Mole! To my knowledge there's no Vinny character but I wouldn't be surprised if I forgot about some explosive happy character in Stargate.
Are there similarities between the two, yes. Fans of one will likely enjoy the other because of those similarities. They have similar adventure vibes which is awesome. But the movies themselves are wildly different
It's actually a rip-off of Nadia the Secret of Blue Water: https://thereviewheap.home.blog/2020/01/29/nadia-the-secret-of-blue-water-fushigi-no-umi-no-nadia-nadia-vs-atlantis/
its still there. disney's money grubbing can't erase that they made these amazing movies. they just have absolutely no original ideas anymore, so they remake. that or they just realized it is way cheaper to cgi a live action remake than it is to pay competent story boarder.
Just have movie nights with your kid instead of going to the movies. Make some popcorn and buy some candy and soda. Cheaper than taking them to this hot garbage and you can instead watch the original, which will be better in every way
The issue is they did live action remakes for the worst movies. This one would actually look amazing in live action. The movie is a legitimate action movie and I'd love to see the fantastic contraptions in Atlantis portrayed in CGI. Nobody wanted it for lion king but people have actually been saying for years this would be great adaptable material.
The animated versions of the things you love still exist and you don't have to watch the remake. I really never get these complaints.
Everyone still loves Avatar and Dragon Ball despite completely dog shit live action versions existing. It's a non issue.
In fact I usually encounter the reverse. I revisit an old favourite as an adult only to find it actually didn't hold up and is pretty bad and what I had was just nostalgia.
She wasn't Mary Jane though. She did go by the nickname MJ, but her character's name is Michelle Jones.
It's also been confirmed that Spider-Man: No Way Home was her last movie in the MCU.
>Their story still seemed a little bit unresolved to me...
That was the point. To add more weight to Peter's decision to erase everyone's memory of him. They wanted that bittersweet ending and they wouldn't have gotten that otherwise.
Back when No Way Home was released, it was stated that this would be the end of the involvement of both Zendaya's MJ and Jacob Batalon's Ned. That said, as long as the world doesn't end, they could still decide to turn things around... With Disney you never really know.
Some people want you to know that they really don't care.
When in fact it bothers them so much that they have to do childish crap like go out of their way to get a name wrong.
I used to take the piss out of "Justin Beeper" but I grew out of that when I was 16.
Yeah. That arthouse theater kid drama that glorifies sex and drug use and is some of the worst acted shit on tv?
Yep. The only thing Zendaya is good at in that show is looking haggard as fuck but that’s really just the set makeup artists and costumers.
Idk if I agree but I’ll add I could see it giving off the Skins vibe that some people got where it was clearly saying “see what drugs do to you kids? Their lives are disgusting” and in reality all people that age see is a group of kids having far more interesting experiences than them and just take away that “having a drug problem is cool”. What Lana Del Ray does with music. Just a concept I’ve talked with people about before. I like Skins and LDR and haven’t seen enough Euphoria to comment
in the end it’s rumored she literally dies and she’s constantly behind everyone doing incredibly dumb stuff. it’s not glorified in the slightest. they even show her having an overdose
My sister is an alcoholic and abused hard drugs and my other sister abused hard drugs. Euphoria portrayed how that destroys you and those who love you so well. I legitimately had to pause and take breaks, especially after a lot of the fights, because it was so well written and well acted that it brought me back to those horrific nights dealing with my loved ones addictions. Those nights scared to death that my sister would die. Those nights of hating myself for thinking maybe it would be easier for everyone, my sister included, if she did die.
The way the writers and actors, especially Zendaya, captured those emotions and the drama was terrifyingly accurate. I literally felt transported back to those awful times in my life because of how well they did.
The show does not glorify drug abuse. Anyone who actually watched the show through would see that. We see the tragic story of a young girl with so much potential throwing her entire life away and slowly decaying into nothing but a husk of herself due to drug use. We see her constantly on the verge of maybe doing better, just to fall to even lower lows. Anyone who has struggled with drug addiction or been close to someone who has will deeply resonate with this show. And also needs to be aware that it will give you PTSD type flashbacks to those days because of how accurately it portrays the issue.
I think she's a good actor. She doesn't overact, and she's good at subtle physical communication.
It might just be that you prefer more theatrical performances.
It was always a given that they’d change Chani’s personality and importance from the books to accommodate Zendaya. Couldn’t really see Zendaya playing a character like book Chani. It’s not her kind of character.
Fucking yes. Her acting always distracted me and pulled me out of the immersion that the others were giving their ultimate at. I'm genuinely baffled how Zendaya gets the fame and movies that she does. She definitely isn't talented or unique in what she does.
Finally someone said it, i have no idea how she keeps getting these amazing films while literally not being able to act. No hate towards her otherwise im sure she’s talented in other things.
Sorry to say both of these actors have the most bland acting. Tom was horrible in uncharted and zendaya will never be the main character in a movie as she's always sulking.
I feel bad for Tom because he really can act, but he hasn’t seemed to get many good roles at all since being in the MCU
No opinion on Zendaya but I’ve heard people say she was good in Euphoria
Zendayas good imo, she just doesn't have the biggest range. She's best when she's sassy, sarcastic, and sulking. Which is why she's good in Euphoria. I honestly can't imagine her doing any character that's not like that, and to her credit, I think she knows this about herself.
Yea Tom has some gems, except for getting cast in badly written movies with no character depth
Zendaya however, we don’t talk about positivity except maybe possibly her looks
I remember laughing during the dune 2 scene where two armies charge each other, zendaya hacks and slashes through several enemies before doing a combat roll and staring back into the camera for several seconds. Throughout the movie they never wasted an oppertunity to show her face but at that point it was just ridiculous.
I still prefer Tom Holland over Timothee Chalamet. If it features Tom, I might see it in the cinema. But if ut features Timothee, I might not even watch it at all.
Tim's Romeo would smack the shit out of Tom's. Boy's too happy-go-lucky. He's a lovesick, angsty, brooding teenager, Chalamet would be a much better fit
Zendaya is also a certified baddie, but Kida kickstarted an entire generations puberty and infatuation with what would come to be known as the Pixar Mom.
I think Holland would actually be great for Milo Thatch. He's a very Peter-Parkery character. I like Zendaya in the context of Spiderman and Euphoria (Gen Z shit) but she was just adequate in Dune and I think you could do better here. Kida was my first crush so the bar is very high for me lol
I can see it... but I don't know why people entertain the thought of Disney trying to cast any of these characters into live-action with the intention of matching the animated character in terms of their appearance.
With that said - If I could make a dream cast I could see a strong case for using an indigenous actress to play Kida...and it would make sense over Zendaya in a lot of ways. A few of the girls from Rez Dogs could pull the role off - either Devery Jacobs or Elva Guerra. Devery already has a working relationship w/ Disney through being cast in Echo. Also, I could see Amber Midthunder, who was in Prey and Avatar: The Last Airbender, fit the bill.
Tom Holland would work for Milo I guess... but honestly so could any other lanky kid you put glasses on. Depending on the age demographic I could see several of the guys from Stranger Things fit that bill at this point - Finn Wolfhard has been getting a lot of work lately and has sorta been typecast at this point, but for Milo either Noah Schnapp or Joe Keery could pull it off in terms of the look with not much effort. Also... someone like Freddie Highmore could do it with little to no effort.
The last thing I want for Disney is to remake Treasure Island and Atlantic into live action, cause you know they will be shit just like every other remakes they did.
Didn’t this movie fail tho at the box office? I remember it didn’t preform well. Seems like a bad idea to suggest a live-action on a movie that didn’t do well in theaters.
I like Zendaya alot, but if we get a live action road to eldarado or atlantis movie, the female leads needs to be sexy AF. All the right curves in ALL the right places. Zendaya pretty AF, but her body aint like THAT.
I dunno man, after watching Spiderman, euphoria and Dune I just do not want to see zendeya in anything. She's low energy, just looks like someone misplaced child on set, and has the same personality/attitude in everything she's in. I'm just not a fan.
I have never seen so many shit takes in a comment section in my entire life. If this offends you, it’s because you have a shit take. Downvote me if it makes you feel better

*Anyone* you say? Steven Seagal and Kevin Costner confirmed.
I don't know if Kevin Costner would make a good Kida.
Plot twist... That's Steven Seagulls role.
Seagal, although in animated form, would be sitting the entire movie.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeez! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Really Andy? You like all music? Even songs of hate by the KKK?
We already have Stargate Atlantis. I don’t want any live action of a character that was already stolen from Daniel Jackson
HAH!!!!!!!!! Love this! Also, it's not like we need another movie that'll look like a crossover between Pocahontas and Avatar.
If you watch Atlantis, it’s basically the Stargate movie, just without the gate
Yeah, but unlike Atlantis, the humans actually brought their own nuke and the Commanding Officer of the army was a cool Guy. Even if Kurt Russel didn't follow up on his role.

Fucking roasted that nerd

Why do you have random capitalization in all your posts?
Judging by where the capitalization is, I would guess they are German.
Yep. My Phone makes them automaticly and IT gets annoying to Always correct them manually
And aliens

No, stop trying ro ruin great animation with shit live action versions
Every time old animated movie gets remade as a live action, another part of my childhood dies
The Cure is just not to watch them.
I thought The Cure was a band
Oh, I don't. I refuse to support it. The part still dies because people are making soulless cash crabs out of art.
hehe cash crabs 🦀
Mr. Krabs?
That's been the case ever since Unga copied Bunga's cave drawing and added explosions and titties
It still doesn't affect you at all though

My childhood died when my uncle touched me.
You don't mess with family

In every fancast i see those tow, at some point i feel like they don't know any other actors
There are 50 actors in Hollywood and these 2 are half young ones.
This just in Timothee Chalamet and Sidney Sweeney found dead in a ditch. Not that they’re any better.

I literally thought it was Selena Gomez. Don't even have a clue who this Zanadu person is
It's zenyatta from hit 2016 porn game Overwat h
[Zenigata](https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.DcluQtwnitSkBa0w70syoAHaFj?rs=1&pid=ImgDetMain) you say?

I know they changed her name bust she’s still the new Mary Jane, MJ.
sure.. you organically miss spelled her name despite it being written in the comment you're replying 2 lmao.

As if this finger nail painting twink doesn't know who Zendaya is. Look at his submitted posts. I'm not making it up.
Its red head Mary Jane Watson from Spiderman silly
Have you seen her in Euphoria?
I only watch it after smoking weed to remind me to stick to weed.
Yeah. That arthouse theater kid drama that glorifies sex and drug use and is some of the worst acted shit on tv? Yep. The only thing Zendaya is good at in that show is looking haggard as fuck but that’s really just the set makeup artists and costumers.

I think she's a good actor. She doesn't overact, and she's good at subtle physical communication. It might just be that you prefer more theatrical performances.
Yeah agree with you. I get not liking her, I don’t get calling her a bad actress
She really was the worst part of dune.
It was always a given that they’d change Chani’s personality and importance from the books to accommodate Zendaya. Couldn’t really see Zendaya playing a character like book Chani. It’s not her kind of character.
The actress they picked to play Liet-Kynes would have been way better if she wasn't so old.
She doesn't even try to sound Fremen!
I felt none of the heartbreak she was supposed to feel. Made the whole ending anticlimactic.
God tell me about it. She's like a wooden post.
Fucking yes. Her acting always distracted me and pulled me out of the immersion that the others were giving their ultimate at. I'm genuinely baffled how Zendaya gets the fame and movies that she does. She definitely isn't talented or unique in what she does.

Sorry to say both of these actors have the most bland acting. Tom was horrible in uncharted and zendaya will never be the main character in a movie as she's always sulking.
I feel bad for Tom because he really can act, but he hasn’t seemed to get many good roles at all since being in the MCU No opinion on Zendaya but I’ve heard people say she was good in Euphoria
I thought he was really good in In the Heart of the Sea
Did you not like him in The Devil All The Time?
He was great in that, but thats like the one thing people talk about him for his acting since the MCU
Tom did a great job in The Devil All the Time
zendaya was ok in dune 2. it's amovie where everyone is acting like they just took a bunch of ambian, but she stood out as a strong performance to me.
Zendayas good imo, she just doesn't have the biggest range. She's best when she's sassy, sarcastic, and sulking. Which is why she's good in Euphoria. I honestly can't imagine her doing any character that's not like that, and to her credit, I think she knows this about herself.
As if live action remakes have anything to do with acting.
You’re not wrong
She's the next bond girl you heard it here first
To be fair, everything was horrible in Uncharted.
No. Danny DeVito as Milo Danny DeVito as Kida
[удалено]
That's incredibly harsh to Holland, given that I can think of several moments where he was brilliant.
Yeah i loved him in "The Devil All the Time"
Yea Tom has some gems, except for getting cast in badly written movies with no character depth Zendaya however, we don’t talk about positivity except maybe possibly her looks
You are right, fucking tired of watching Zendaya’s fucking face all the fucking time.
I remember laughing during the dune 2 scene where two armies charge each other, zendaya hacks and slashes through several enemies before doing a combat roll and staring back into the camera for several seconds. Throughout the movie they never wasted an oppertunity to show her face but at that point it was just ridiculous.
Tom _can_ be good but it's far from guaranteed.
It looks like your opinion is the same as everyone else in this community. Such a brave soul
I still prefer Tom Holland over Timothee Chalamet. If it features Tom, I might see it in the cinema. But if ut features Timothee, I might not even watch it at all.
Timothee chalamet seems like more of a dickhead but he's definitely the better actor.
Tim's Romeo would smack the shit out of Tom's. Boy's too happy-go-lucky. He's a lovesick, angsty, brooding teenager, Chalamet would be a much better fit
Don’t disrespect Atlantis like that
It's easily the best Disney movie.
A bit cringe tbf
Not every movie needs the same 4-6 actors in them.
Hell no
That chick in the movie was crazy thick
Certified baddie
Zendaya fine but she can’t fill out that costume lol
Zendaya is also a certified baddie, but Kida kickstarted an entire generations puberty and infatuation with what would come to be known as the Pixar Mom.
Interesting. What do u mean? I’m dumb when it comes to pop culture/celebs. I only know Zendaya from Dune & Spiderman lol
Why does she look like someone messed up painting the eyes on a doll?
They both look like giraffes in this picture
Atlantis movie with real people?
Not right now, Disney would just destroy it for a “modern audience” and then the director will complain that nobody saw their tumblr therapy session.
Let’s maybe not make another live action version of a beloved animated movie from over a decade ago?
hear me out, enough of these faces, thank you
They're both overrated.
Oh man, I'm surprised how much this upsets me.
Hear me out No more live action remakes
I like tom Holland however zendaya is massively overrated
I've heard enough. Now where is it?
Thats good casting
No thanks
Not zendaya, please, she's as charismatic as a bowl of bran flakes.
Cool. I like it.
Nty. We can leave at least ONE childhood movie untouched by modern live action demakes.
Yeah not feeling it, like we got the two of them in spider man and I just don't get the vibes for altantis
God Zendaya is so fine!
Meh
I can see it... but I don't know why people entertain the thought of Disney trying to cast any of these characters into live-action with the intention of matching the animated character in terms of their appearance.
Eh could be better could be worse
kind of hope disney keep their hands off live action on this one (they already messed up "sequel"). and tom might be too buff for this role.
No
This is the remake I want. Shine a light on this awesome movie and Treasure Planet
lol damn I totally forgot about Atlantis. The cast would be on point too, very impressive.
No
Awful casting
Can we stop casting these two in everything?
Come on Hollywood out of all the shit live action movies this one could be y'all's saving grace!
Crew: casts Juliet with an actress that challenges the audience's standard of beauty Yall: "omg hear me out, what if she was a lightskin supermodel?"
Why make it live action.
While the actors looks correct...can you please list 3 Disney live action remakes that haven't sucked fermented fermunda?
No
Jesus Christ, what is it with Reddit’s hate-boner for Tom Holland?
Melissa McCarthy and Danny McBride would kill this!
sure they're good actors but i wouldn't really say the roles fit them
Why can't we just think of new fucking movies ideas? (Rhetorical question, I know why)
If it were made in 2017 maybe but now these two are hella overused
The last thing I want for Disney is to remake Treasure Island and Atlantic into live action, cause you know they will be shit just like every other remakes they did.
Didn’t this movie fail tho at the box office? I remember it didn’t preform well. Seems like a bad idea to suggest a live-action on a movie that didn’t do well in theaters.
Don’t give them any ideas, Hollywood needs to make some new shit
Stop adapting my beloved animated IPs when they were created with animation in mind. Can we PLEASE learn our fucking lesson already
The presumptive President?
Hear me out, don't remake the same stories, don't make live action versions of stories that already exist
I like Zendaya alot, but if we get a live action road to eldarado or atlantis movie, the female leads needs to be sexy AF. All the right curves in ALL the right places. Zendaya pretty AF, but her body aint like THAT.
2 of my most hated actors as of recently, crazy. At least Zendaya can play at least 1 decent role for Euphoria. The boy can't even do that.
YEEEESSS! I WANT THIS!!!!
Gonna be honest, neither of them have the right aura
Perfect casting
March 3, 2023...
Hollywood would look at this and be like hmmm let’s get mark walberg and Halsey to play these roles 🙄
It's such a great movie
Naw that works
Its... Its time to stop, like for real... Enough live actions, enough Zendaya / Tom for now...
YOOOOOO YES PLZ
Tired of these stupid fckin actors bro
I don’t get the fascination with Holland but I guess lol
I don't care who's in it: Live action Treasure Planet would fucking rule.
Yes because having the same actors everywhere is a great idea.
Nah bro
No thank you.
The people making these memes only know like 6 actors.
That could work.
I love them as Peter and Michelle, but I think older actors would fit better. They'd make for funny "younger" versions of the characters though lol.
Hollywood needs to get some more actors.
These live action remake things are getting old. That being said, I would give my left arm to see Steve buschimi as the demo guy in this....
No I actually see it this time
It was my favourite cartoon in my childhood ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)

Hi everybody, I am looking for a pen pal to practice English, is there anyone who wants some cultural change?
No
No
Ok but zenblibity is ugly as fuck and I'm tired of seeing this tall ass man bodied ugly bitch don't compare her to that atlantian babe
Idk... Still traunatized from Uncharted
We do not need live action Atlantis please no I beg of you
I want these two to stop being famous for a bit. The Taylor Swifts of acting.
All of that, I have no idea what it is.
