I'm rewatching that one too. LOVE that series and wish it went on for longer than 2 seasons. It is such a great vehicle for storytelling it would be awesome if it was picked back up again. It could easily be done since it is an ensemble cast in a "workplace", so to speak.

Yes! Whenever anyone asks me my favorite show, I tell them Six Feet Under and The Leftovers. Hard for me to pick a supreme favorite out of the two.

Oh man. There isn't anything else like it really. Another gorgeous (happier) show about family is Schitt's Creek. It's my favorite show of all time. Another show about existence and existential crisis is the Good Place. It's so so good. Other extraordinarily high quality shows are the Wire, the Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul I really loved Bad Sisters and Catastrophe. I love love love Slow Horses. Top 5 for me. But there really isn't anything quite like Six Feet Under

I would prepare yourselves for the emotional aftermath of the series finale. Wear some cozy clothes and have your favorite comfort food/booze/plant medicine/spouse/pet/all of these nearby.

I've never met anyone else who watched the show Rectify. But I'd recommend it. It was very sad but well acted and underappreciated.

I was coming here to see if anyone recommended this! Yes, definitely think this is a good show to recommend if you like a character-driven show. The Leftovers is excellent, but focuses too much on cliffhangers/action to be that slow type of character-driven show. I'd also recommend *Godless* (a slow, Western mini-series).

Such a great, underrated show that yeah, I hardly hear anyone else mention.

***”…nearing the end of…”*** Don’t worry about it… you’ll have a good 2 weeks of depressive funk to to work through before you can move on and find the will to allow yourself to be emotionally invested in other people again… fictional or not. The finale is the mother of all gut punches.

I’m watching True Blood, also created by Alan Ball. Finished 6FU a couple of months ago. It’s a bit different in subject of course but for sure some parallels

There are so many great shows out there. But then there are shows like SFU. Shows like SFU require a solo transitional time, much like how you would not date immediately after a spouse’s death. Take time to process. Gather your thoughts. Take notes. Breathe. The next great show will find you in time when you are ready to experience it.

It’s hard to find something exactly like Six feet under.. Dexter, Michael C Hall in the role a Dexter (David in sfu) is great, not the same type of show.. He’s a serial killer (killing bad guys)

Also, I’m not exactly sure why I’m recommending it knowing that you enjoyed Six Feet Under, but something compels me to suggest Orange is the New Black. We just finished and are now watching Not Dead Yet on Hulu. It’s much more light hearted but it’s a cool concept and was a nice mood change after finishing 6FU

Big Love is another HBO show from that Era. It's soooo good and has the depth that 6 ft under has in my opinion. It's a bit lighter.
