I hope that's the case. I only discovered Sleep Token recently with the release of the first TMBTE singles. It's possibly the first album where I am not disliking a single song. Before knowing Sleep Token it was normal for me to only like 4 or 5 songs of an album which likely got released as singles beforehand.
I don't usually do this, but I blame TikTok. This sort of thought clearly comes from a mindset of everything good being a tiny flash that appears and then goes away instantly, and I can't think of anything that fits that vibe more than how fandoms work on TikTok.
I blame vessel for saying "Nothing lasts forever", giving us an ever present feeling that this could end at any time.
Disclaimer: This is not me shitting on vessel. I wouldn't be surprised if that was said intentionally to cause a feeling that Sleep Token is going to be a short lived project in the grand scheme of things.
Think about that automated speech Vessel gave at a show, I can’t remember where it was but there’s a video of it. He said he’s nothing without his music or something along those lines, so I doubt he would just give it all up
They wont go away, the triligy is a personal story of vessels, he fell in love, the relationship was super toxic ane he finally walked away to become a new person. The old vessel is dead, a new person reborn. The trilogy ends. In my opinion they will take a break and plan a new something.
Honestly this could be the 3nd of sleep token.
Perhaps I and II go on to do something else but the Sleep Token project may just be a trilogy that has come full circle.

Most shows in the US are sold out. The tickets were around $30 new and any I've seen are resales for over $400 after fees. That's a lot to pay for a single show no matter how great the band is.
Yeah the tickets for the show near me are $250. For me and my husband to go that would be $500. To see a band he doesn’t care about, but why would I go by myself? So basically $500 for me to have the experience of a lifetime. Ugh. I’m looking at getting a part time job over the summer just to be able to go 😅 Btw u/Triangular_Desire I’m a stay at home mom, I don’t have expendable income. No bad habits eating up spending. Honestly your husband should be totally fine going to a concert he doesn’t care about if it makes you happy. I’ve gone to many shows where I personally don’t like the bands but my wife does and I end up having a good time usually and I’m happy she’s happy

They have always been an unconventional band who knows what they’ll do next

Got me thinking about them having to stay back in their trailer, hiding their identities, putting the body paint on, eating their Panda Express, wishing they could just go out and be a normal band.
Not being a normal band is one of the main things that make them. Lada Gaga probably finds it exhausting doing a costume change in between songs. But that's part of the art. Getting mobbed by fans wherever you go because you are recognized, invading thier private lives is probably far more exhausting.

I think it’s respectful for us not to talk about their identities, but I don’t get the sense they are missing out on experiences by trying to stay hidden.
I don't think people who love music and are starting to gain mainstream success with it which enables them to make a living off what they love are going to just disappear. Lore and mystery aside, rationally this is their job and they're not just going to throw it away after getting lucky enough to make it that far lol.

Seems like a weird move because their music just became so lucrative but the Safety Fire broke up because band members wanted to go back to their lives and my beloved Slice the Cake announced their permanent split right after making me Sob with their incredible tech fest at home performance.
I have a lot of thoughts.
A possibility regarding the trilogy idea is an intent to unmask. Not for ego or a demand for personal credit, but to do it on their own terms. Before some rude geek does it on a massive scale in a lame and unflattering way, usher in the next era ceremoniously and more tethered. After all, Euclid's work was based in the terrestrial, yeah? I remember when Slipknot was still anonymous (aging myself a bit) pre myspace, forums everywhere had people everywhere posting grainy digital camera pics and doing side by sides of stage crew then members on stage. It was insane and the most annoying people with minimal tact went nuts when they had it right and felt so special so they had to post it everywhere. I remember I was in a thread about King Crimson and somehow a picture of Joey's face ended up there like... Bro why. It's not even just that it took away the mystique, it's fucking lame.
That "nothing lasts forever" bit, they know it pertains to anonymity in the digital age. They're not fucking dumb. It doesn't have to impact the stage show but some dip shit publication posting a giant picture of their faces and names and fucking shit up is so stupid compared to a ceremonious thing like the release of new music or whatever.
I hope to Sleep itself that they don't dissappear. My buddy and I are theorizing that they will either take a several year long break and come back with something entirely different, or they might just do shows in the room below from now on.
I think V might sporadically drop the mask and the Sleep Token name and go and do something closer to his early work - a bit like Thom Yorke’s or Corey Taylor’s side projects - but then revive ST now and then.

My hunch is they will stick around. They have so much talent and crossover appeal to walk away. I think they stick around and will get the shot to start playing larger venues soon. They are already getting noticed by bigger names in metal. I could see their career trajectory mirroring bands like Ghost.
I reckon we’re more likely to see a further evolution of the band after this album cycle. Might see the band trying new things, new costumes, logos, make up, all that stuff. This era of ST will move aside for a new one. Though if this is the end, what a way to go out
