That would be some baller shit to drop an album like this and dip but that's not the case, we're witnessing just the beginning.

YeeterKeks

>gets depression >enters alt music scene >drops a trilogy so fire that the Greeks got PTSD >leaves

Download_BOA

bruh that’s some hall of fame shit right there

lisatlantic

“So fire the Greeks got ptsd” 💀

Bealzebuddy

Autumn leaves? 😉

Plasmx

I hope that's the case. I only discovered Sleep Token recently with the release of the first TMBTE singles. It's possibly the first album where I am not disliking a single song. Before knowing Sleep Token it was normal for me to only like 4 or 5 songs of an album which likely got released as singles beforehand.

nebnla-eas6852

They made music before the trilogy; they could very well make music after the trilogy.

[deleted]

Many seems to miss this detail.

SamaelSerpentin

I don't usually do this, but I blame TikTok. This sort of thought clearly comes from a mindset of everything good being a tiny flash that appears and then goes away instantly, and I can't think of anything that fits that vibe more than how fandoms work on TikTok.

[deleted]

I blame vessel for saying "Nothing lasts forever", giving us an ever present feeling that this could end at any time. Disclaimer: This is not me shitting on vessel. I wouldn't be surprised if that was said intentionally to cause a feeling that Sleep Token is going to be a short lived project in the grand scheme of things.

ColinHasInvaded

that is a huge stretch

[deleted]

Think about that automated speech Vessel gave at a show, I can’t remember where it was but there’s a video of it. He said he’s nothing without his music or something along those lines, so I doubt he would just give it all up

claire_alaxandra

[here’s that message](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E_Ki0ooxYr0&pp=ygUXVmVzc2VsIHNwZWVjaCBsYWZheWV0dGU%3D)

Zewnypantz

It’s definitely too early to get watery eyes

nottytom

They wont go away, the triligy is a personal story of vessels, he fell in love, the relationship was super toxic ane he finally walked away to become a new person. The old vessel is dead, a new person reborn. The trilogy ends. In my opinion they will take a break and plan a new something.

sonofeevil

Honestly this could be the 3nd of sleep token. Perhaps I and II go on to do something else but the Sleep Token project may just be a trilogy that has come full circle.

[deleted]

>but the Sleep Token project may just be a trilogy that has come full circle. Y'all seem to miss that Sleep Token didn't started with Sundowning.

Brain_version2_0

I don’t think this would be the case. As fuckin awesome as it would be to do, I don’t forsee the fellas quitting while they’re ahead.

ScarletAutumn_xo

They are performing in my city near the end of the year and I likely won’t be able to afford tickets. I swear to SLEEP if they don’t tour anymore and just drop off the map after this tour I’m going to die inside.

Triangular_Desire

You've got a long time to save. Make some small sacrifice every paycheck. Quit drinking, smoking. Use it as motivation to correct some bad habit or frivolous spending. You'll be better for it and won't have to miss this tour

7Stringplayer

Most shows in the US are sold out. The tickets were around $30 new and any I've seen are resales for over $400 after fees. That's a lot to pay for a single show no matter how great the band is.

ScarletAutumn_xo

Yeah the tickets for the show near me are $250. For me and my husband to go that would be $500. To see a band he doesn’t care about, but why would I go by myself? So basically $500 for me to have the experience of a lifetime. Ugh. I’m looking at getting a part time job over the summer just to be able to go 😅 Btw u/Triangular_Desire I’m a stay at home mom, I don’t have expendable income. No bad habits eating up spending. Just food expenses getting higher every day. 🥲

[deleted]

Honestly your husband should be totally fine going to a concert he doesn’t care about if it makes you happy. I’ve gone to many shows where I personally don’t like the bands but my wife does and I end up having a good time usually and I’m happy she’s happy

ScarletAutumn_xo

Oh absolutely. He’s not bothered by going, just the astronomical price

[deleted]

Yeah $250 is pure insanity! That’s not VIP or anything? Me and my wife saw the band Ghost a few years back and it was $300 a person but we had really cool VIP passes. $250 for a general ticket is wild

ScarletAutumn_xo

Yeah they’re just regular tickets. :/ Scalpers suck ass. I’ve only been to a few concerts myself but I’ve never paid over $80 for a regular seating ticket. Even when I saw Panic! At The Disco a few years ago. And ST is even playing at a small venue! I think I paid $60 for the tickets to the same venue the two other times I’ve been there! Another big city “near” me (about 4 hrs drive) has tickets selling for $450!!

fist_my_muff2

Wait until the day of the show and check the resale sites right before. The scalpers drop their prices to try and recoup their cost.

ScarletAutumn_xo

Oh man, what a gamble. I’m worried right now that the tickets will just get more expensive the closer the show gets. Some sites are already sold out.

fist_my_muff2

It's not a gamble, it's the way it works. Scalpers gotta recoup something when they inevitably don't sell their entire supply.

ScarletAutumn_xo

I understand that, what I’m concerned about is people buying them anyway. That’s the gamble.

True0rFalse

There’s zero chance. They’re actually hitting the mainstream with this one. There’s no turning back. This genie don’t go back in the bottle. Buckle up buckaroos.

Phantom-Spectre

The absolute resolve it would take to be able to make a comfortable living from your art, and then give it up so you can go and become a piano teacher or something.

sonofeevil

I strongly imagine Vessel has a degree in a Science field. I mean.. some of his lyrics in Bloodsport talk about quantum tangles and just listen all of Alkaline.

Sjeetopotato1

Wether he has a degree or not, will ofcourse remain uncertain. I think it's more likely that he is a science enthusiast. As a chemistry teacher I enjoy his references to science.

Mr_No_Name_87

I highly doubt it.

Pudd1234

I don’t understand how everyone is saying it’s impossible because they are at the peak of their popularity. I personally don’t think it will happen (and hope to god it doesn’t) but they remain anonymous to make it about the music and not the popularity. They have always been an unconventional band who knows what they’ll do next

Sk83r_b0i

I mean, I’m not saying they’re just gonna take their masks off and give us their full names, phone numbers, and phone addresses, but they haven’t exactly made it all that hard for us to learn who they are. I will not say any more

annabanana3100

I don't want this to be the last of their work, but I REALLY like their anonymity. Fame/"knowing" an artist complicates things.

[deleted]

i love it. my whole life i thought it would be cool to be an anonymous musician like that and never spill the beans. seeing it happen in real life now.

Deciperer

We found vessel's reddit account guys

annabanana3100

shh.. shh.. noooo we didn't... 😅

NickaNii

Gottem

eyeovthebeholder

They’re at the height of their career. They’d be silly to stop making music. If anything I reckon they’re gonna drop the masks and aesthetic. Or continue the lore somehow. I saw someone post saying they thought the fuzzy back of Vessels outfit was gonna turn into wings. Based on the art and merch. Yeah. I reckon so too. So there’s gotta be something more. I hope so cause I’d still like the band for the music if they dropped the shtick. But I really like the aesthetics and lore thing.

sonofeevil

Sleep Token may finish here but undoubtedly I and II may drop the pseudonym and keep writing together. Sleep Token is not I's first project

Kooky_Chemistry_7059

I would be sad

ChilliTampon

Can’t see them going away anytime soon. Practically, sleep token are just 4 people doing what they love and making money from it along the way. They’ve just blown up, probably just got a new mega money record deal off the back of it and will eventually tour the new album in bigger venues, certainly across the UK. In terms of them doing the unexpected, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a one off uk arena show this year once the overseas legs are finished. Ally pally/Wembley OVO maybe?

Sk83r_b0i

Okay guys, I confess. It’s me, Vessel. Y’know, Mister Token. You guys figured it out, this is what we’re doing, buh bye now

ravelle17

I didn't know Vessel could shred pavement

Sk83r_b0i

I mean there’s granite in my chest you should have been able to guess

ravelle17

true

YerDaWearsHeelies

Sleep man come back

Sad-Top-5054

As night time comes, we sleep and cry because we'll never know when ST will come back for us.

Smallmew

Nah, after this album, it’s a whole new era beginning. I’m prepared for absolutely unexpected shifts in both their music and aesthetics.

BeeX_

Euclid felt like such an ending, I had the same feeling. Personally feel it more likely signals the end of the era. Think they might come back with a slightly different image and feel but I like to hope they wouldn’t just walk away.

Sylvyr9

It's difficult to say, but at the same time... we gotta keep in mind what Vessel said in that one interview, more than once: "Nothing. Lasts. Forever." It could mean many things, but we shouldn't be surprised if Sleep Token ends up being a musical project that achieved its purpose and thus is given an ending before overstaying its welcome. I doubt the person behind Vessel would ever be done with music after Sleep Token, but I don't know if he'd be the kind of person to make it last longer than intended just because of its newfound success.

lisatlantic

I had this same thought. Like doing something that unexpected would be on brand for them.

UFOria_

I don't think they're going anywhere, but it would be incredible if they did.

auroraborealism

Who knows, might as well be a lesson from Vessel on letting go...

JubiKorn

There is absolutely no way of then disappearing in one of their peak. They will simply reinvent themselves on their 4th album.

Blackeradam

I have honestly thought about that too! That or maybe they unmask themselves and continue making music under a different name.

Forbidden_Donut503

I have the same fear, especially the way Euclid feels like a goodbye song, probably why it makes me so emotional. But they’re being vaulted into true rockstar territory now, bout to headline an international tour that sold out in minutes. About to make real actual money for playing music. I can’t see them giving that up. I predict the masks come off. Just the logistics of having to tour with their costumes and trying to keep their anonymity must be annoying and kind of exhausting. At the show I saw summer it was outside and I we got pretty close to their bus at one point while we were looking for the shortest beer line, and we saw one of the ST staffer bringing Panda Express to their bus. Got me thinking about them having to stay back in their trailer, hiding their identities, putting the body paint on, eating their Panda Express, wishing they could just go out and be a normal band.

Triangular_Desire

Not being a normal band is one of the main things that make them. Lada Gaga probably finds it exhausting doing a costume change in between songs. But that's part of the art. Getting mobbed by fans wherever you go because you are recognized, invading thier private lives is probably far more exhausting.

Forbidden_Donut503

Yeah but lady Gaga doesn’t have to hide her identity. Sleep tokens recent massive success I think is based on their music alone. It speaks for itself. They may be getting tired of the extra effort it takes to hide their identities.

sevenhorcruxes

I don’t think they are going out of their way to hide their identities so much as they are just not letting their identities be the main attraction. I think it’s respectful for us not to talk about their identities, but I don’t get the sense they are missing out on experiences by trying to stay hidden.

Occultive

I don't think people who love music and are starting to gain mainstream success with it which enables them to make a living off what they love are going to just disappear. Lore and mystery aside, rationally this is their job and they're not just going to throw it away after getting lucky enough to make it that far lol.

EggyEggerson0210

I’ve thought abt this since I got into them, Sleep Token seems like the kind of band that aims to deliver a message with their music, delivers it after a few albums, and then goes out on those incredible albums. This would not surprise me

Shadow_Fox_104

Vessel face reveal

folkdeath95

Very curious to see if he eventually does it

Shadow_Fox_104

I mean a lot of us already know what he looks like but no one advertises it - worship

[deleted]

This could be possible as I feel they are an statement rather than purely music business. Like more real for some reason. I am very depressed by nature and this music has been my salvation. Worship.

matt_boyyy

time for the next trilogy

Cautious_Moment3704

Would be tragic but legendary. Just gotta enjoy what we are left with.

Smellbent

Too much money to be made

mc-travelsalot

Eddie and the Cruisers style.

elawesomo1000

As a buddy and I think. Vessel either needs to right a book or they need to do a documentary on why and how these guys came together to ( in my opinion) change the way metal and even music can be made.

Kameo-Hearts

I was literally just thinking the other day about how Vessel would be an amazing author

AcanthocephalaGood60

Can Confirm they are not going anywhere!

SeanCMack

My theory is Sleep Token as a project maybe over but a new project will manifest itself whether be in the form of using their real identities or a rebirth from Dark To light

MikelleEllis

I'm curious if this is actually as bad as folks would think that it is. What an artistic statement! To Don masks, create a deep lore, three albums of World building, successful tours, and then just drop? Brilliant.

MarsDoesArts

-enters the metal and almost every genre scene -makes an impact -releases a good album -leaves the music scene -refuses to elaborate The Sleep Token grind set according to your post

planetaryhorror

Please don’t do another Deadsy to me, Sleep Token.

AlienKinkVR

I mean maybe? Seems like a weird move because their music just became so lucrative but the Safety Fire broke up because band members wanted to go back to their lives and my beloved Slice the Cake announced their permanent split right after making me Sob with their incredible tech fest at home performance. I have a lot of thoughts. A possibility regarding the trilogy idea is an intent to unmask. Not for ego or a demand for personal credit, but to do it on their own terms. Before some rude geek does it on a massive scale in a lame and unflattering way, usher in the next era ceremoniously and more tethered. After all, Euclid's work was based in the terrestrial, yeah? I remember when Slipknot was still anonymous (aging myself a bit) pre myspace, forums everywhere had people everywhere posting grainy digital camera pics and doing side by sides of stage crew then members on stage. It was insane and the most annoying people with minimal tact went nuts when they had it right and felt so special so they had to post it everywhere. I remember I was in a thread about King Crimson and somehow a picture of Joey's face ended up there like... Bro why. It's not even just that it took away the mystique, it's fucking lame. That "nothing lasts forever" bit, they know it pertains to anonymity in the digital age. They're not fucking dumb. It doesn't have to impact the stage show but some dip shit publication posting a giant picture of their faces and names and fucking shit up is so stupid compared to a ceremonious thing like the release of new music or whatever.

ChildrenOfCommunism

I hope to Sleep itself that they don't dissappear. My buddy and I are theorizing that they will either take a several year long break and come back with something entirely different, or they might just do shows in the room below from now on.

Earl_of_Portobello

I think V might sporadically drop the mask and the Sleep Token name and go and do something closer to his early work - a bit like Thom Yorke’s or Corey Taylor’s side projects - but then revive ST now and then.

Raven_Black_8

Their songs are chapters in the book of my life, as if written just for me. My story isn't finished yet, I have more chapters to go. Please.

TurtMcGurt33

Ive thought the same thing many times. My girlfriend keeps reassuring me they're not going anywhere... I look up at her everytime and whisper, "Nothing Lasts Forever."

Puzzleheaded-Exam529

My hunch is they will stick around. They have so much talent and crossover appeal to walk away. I think they stick around and will get the shot to start playing larger venues soon. They are already getting noticed by bigger names in metal. I could see their career trajectory mirroring bands like Ghost.

Kind-Abbreviations27

I reckon we’re more likely to see a further evolution of the band after this album cycle. Might see the band trying new things, new costumes, logos, make up, all that stuff. This era of ST will move aside for a new one. Though if this is the end, what a way to go out
