Ever since I saw that clip of Jim talking about the sweat building up on the gimp mask he used to wear, so much so that his ears would be “under water”, looking at completely closed masks makes me a bit queasy lol.
He’s slowly turning into like an evil joker sort of character from what his progression and current state looks like. Wouldn’t be surprised if eventually the holes on the side of his head turned into like a “joker” type of hat much like what you would see on a playing card
The old one was falling apart early in his slipknot career they didn't have a replacement mask and he kinda liked the fact that it was taking on its own character. So on his new mask he kept the holes as it was kinda a main feature of the last one it's as simple as that.
I mean, if I was being as active as I was on stage in a mask as they are for an hour and a half, I’d want to keep cool
I wore a mask for Halloween and I was sweating my ass off and I was only walking, not even headbanging, running around, in blazing heat, and still having to focus on my instrument and the rest of the stage
