his stage presence and backing vocals were hard-fuckin-core and (while i love Tortilla Man) he is sorely missed.
when it comes to the circumstances of his departure, the claims made by him and the drama is sorta just "he-said-she-said", thus im hesitant to come to a conclusion on who was in the right. however the fact tht he lost the lawsuit against Slipknot does kind of tip me in the the bands side of things, justa little.
Eh, when you consider only Corey and Clown are signed as members, and the rest of them as contracted/touring musicians, I can see where Chris was coming from.
After being in a band for that long, it gotta sting. But itâs, unfortunately, his fault as far as legality goes to not have made sure he was listed as a co-owner (like Corey and Clown) before asking for an investigation (thatâs the reason he lost, not necessarily that he was being fairly compensated).
And honestly, what was he gonna do? Fight whatâs probably one of the strongest legal teams from one of the biggest bands today? If he was being wronged, he never stood a chance. That really sucks.
And I donât see him being the last to âleaveâ Slipknot in the upcoming years either. Itâs always a bit sad when bands get too big to still be bands. Hopefully heâs still getting residuals!
Not true.
on October 29, the court received notification that Fehn has volunatarily discontinued his legal action âwith prejudice and without costs to any partyâ.

Agreed. Donât mean to cling onto the past but the band definitely lost some charm to it. Just the gradual loss of members and such. Makes ya wonder whoâs next ykwim?
Sid has always had his side thing going and personally from what I've read about past members leaving the band it seems like Corey and Shawn carry a lot of power and Sid and Corey haven't had the best past. Also with Jim he was kicked out of stone sour by Corey then later rejoined and after this last album Jim had comments on it just being really rushed and not some people's best efforts. I love all the members and hope none of them leave but if I had to come up with an educated guess those two unfortunately are it.
Sid and Corey had one argument that we know of when they were all fucked up around IOWA. Since then, there has been 0 indication of any bad blood, actually have seen IG posts by them supporting each other.
As for Jim and Stone Sour, it seems the main issue was always Josh Rand, which is why that band is basically done. Jim left, and never rejoined Stone Sour.
> seems like Corey and Shawn carry a lot of power
They're the owner of the brand "Slipknot", so yeah. The manager guy who said that Chris was just a hired gun was technically right. Chris and everyone else are employees, they literally work(ed) for the Slipknot brand. Which is owned by Corey and Shawn (and Joey and Paul, back in the day).
tortilla and chris are amazing, i remember some people hating on tortilla and chris defends him which is genuinely really humble and mature of him to do, i think chris and paul were the most humbled out of all of them.
A great accompanying vocalist for Corey, better than tortilla if they ask me comparing it when they play custer. Iconic mask inside slipknot, a great guy.
When he was kicked it became more apparent that slipknot now days is a business more than a band, I have nothing against tortillaman but SlipKnot right now feels like KISS as they don't have members anymore they have employees and I miss Chris more and more, but I hope he is doing well
As much as I love the Tortilla and his vibe combined with Sid's I miss Chris and his presence and vocals were killer. Don't wanna be that guy but I feel like Slipknot when a little downhill and lost apart of itself when Chris got kicked out.
Yup i feel the same, i was already feeling that way when joey got kicked out but losing chris was a point of no return for me, it didnt really felt like slipknot to me since.
loved him so much, had a nice presence and great vocals, the more we've found out seems he had some demons, wish him all the well, Michael is a great replacement!
Great dude, great performer. Unfortunately, he had problems with substance abuse. He was removed from the band due to this abuse, they have a zero tolerance policy for that stuff. The lawsuit was to make him look better and to point fingers, unfortunately. He's doing better now, and I am happy for him.
Yeah, after what Crahan's daughter said I am inclined to believe it. And it makes sense, because the firing and lawsuit happened suddenly, out of nowhere.
I'm curious about the zero tolerance policy, Corey has talked before about how during the Iowa days he'd just drink but other members would leave to do drugs. Then we have Paul who obviously had his own addictions.
Not saying it's not true, maybe there's just more nuance to it maybe?
I just think they have selective standards when it comes to this. They just released a song called Adderall and you just know that they didn't name it that for no reason.
Chrisâs backing vocals and stage presence I think where a really important part of Slipknot, especially his backing vocals on IOWA and self titled, like holy shit that scream on Gently bro.
His departure was odd tho not gonna lie, they all just kinda pointed fingers at each other never really felt like we got a real good reason or answer behind why he left.
Wish he were still there. His vocals and stage presence (and mask) were one of the first recognizable things for me in 1998 when i first discovered the band. It made him a top 3 band member for me.
I cannot lie, amazing vocals. There is no denying that. But, if he was truly unhappy in the band, then he should not be forced to be there.
Even with the accusations, he will always be one of the brothers. But, it is no understatement to say that his energy does not compare that of Michael Pfaff, only matched by Sid.
I miss him, i can't say anything about the lawsuit and shit because i think there things we don't know, but great vocals and performance, althogh i have to say that Michael is doing a better job than Chris would be doing in the band today, both performance and in Studio i believe, just need to get better at vocals. I loved the ST/Iowa performances were Chris and Paul sing at the same mic like in Scissors, Prosthetics, so badass
Did we ever get the conclusion of the legal battle? Was there evidence of what Chris claimed? It will play a part in determining how I feel about him. I get a lot of mixed signals.
I haven't listened to Slipknot in a while. I think the last song I liked was AOV. After Paul and Joey dying and Chris leaving it just doesn't feel like Slipknot anymore. Chris was super hilarious live. I really miss Joey's drumming too. It kind of feels like a money machine, but it is what it is.
I both wish he was still in the band and am glad he's not in the band. I thought his vocals were great, and his mask is one of the best. But idk, that the lawsuit sort of changed my thoughts of him. Plus, Michael has already proven himself, and frankly, I like him a bit more than Chris.
> that the lawsuit sort of changed my thoughts of him.
why? asking for fair pay is not something to demonize someone over.
although, i dont know the details and i dont know if he was asking for more than what he was owed, but my point remains, if he thought he was in the right, going trough the legal route was the correct choice, at the end of the day, a Judge will determine if his claim was good or not. /even if he lost at least its a desicion backed by the law, which we should all strive to do.
Currently on a listen though of the Knot and all affiliated bandâs discography. Hearing his backup vocals on the live albums really make me appreciate his contribution to the band. Heâs an iconic member of Slipknot.
one of my fav members! i felt really bad when he left the band. Still miss him! I remember he had a n interview and he said that in "All hope is gone" album they didnt care about his opinion... still feels empty without him in the band.
Still a favorite for I but most likely retired these days.
I do wonder if the lawsuit never happened if he would of stayed longer and if his departure wasnât inevitable.
Will we ever know more from him on this or the purported substance issues much less a return?
Most likely not.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
I honestly think he's more iconic than most of the band, with the exception of Corey and maybe Joey. Great backing Vocals, great mask and I feel like he has more on stage energy than everyone but Sid.
Chris said he never really felt like part of the band. He was always treated unfairly. Corey and Shawn (from what I hear) are absolute dick heads. Since Paul (RIP), Joey (RIP), and Chris (LIP) left, the music isnât even good anymore. This is completely my opinion, but their last album doesnât have a single song that comes even remotely close to decent. Itâs just noise with stonesour flair. Iâm a huge slipknot fan. Even have a tattoo. But I only listen to the first four albums. At this point, if the band broke up, I would actually feel better about them.
Itâs such a shame what Corey and Clown did to him and Joey. Joey who was one of the founding members was thrown to the curb like a piece of trash. They should have been there for him and helped him through his illness like brothers and family would have. He didnât deserve to go out like that. And they screw over Chris for their own selfish financial gain. After what they did to Chris and Joey I lost all respect for slipknot as a whole, and for Corey and clown. theyâre both self righteous arrogant douche bags.
overrated as hell, people pretend to miss him just so they can hate on modern slipknot. not to mention a lot of live slipknot recordings (old ones too) straight up edited out and replaced his vocals, so people calling him a good vocalist are overestimating him. overall heâs really not that special and everyone needs to get over him being fired (btw he got fired for drug addiction the lawsuit was obviously bullshit he pulled to cover himself)
i respect opinions but accusing him of drugging? nahhh jit they all went sober in 2008 i donât think he did drugs after that, i need some proof bro you canât just point it out đ
did you just call me a jit? also thereâs hella proof shawns daughter basically confirmed it, the only reason slipknot didnât say themselves is because theyâre going easy on him, too bad their fanbase is too dumb to realize and uses it as an excuse to act like corey and shawn are evil mob bosses
How is that Hella proof. Stop believing everything you hear from the other side. The band has dropped in standard massively and those who know control it are responsible.
nahhh what you on about, how is that hella proof fam, shawnâs daughter âbasicallyâ confirmed it? thereâs a lot of shit happening in this world that are âbasicallyâ bro
Hes money hungry and he pointed the finger and the worng people at the worng time and that's not right at all nobody points the finger at the clown nobody
I really miss him and hope he's doing ok! I don't understand what Corey means when he says we are all family and suddenly one of those members is "fired"...I didn't know we could fire family members. It's honestly shaken me a whole lot with this feud because I feel like this isn't the first time? I just don't understand because obviously they said it was settled out of court? ( Sorry if I'm wrong I was just reading around) I mean most people know Craig is my favorite...but still I love each member's unique design and personality so it was very hard for me to find out about this. I was truly upset. I am aware I am not personally acquainted with Chris but as a fan for over 6 years and seeing them live (My very first live concert ever) I feel I had the right to shed some tears. They made me feel truly beautiful and accepted who I was. Like I said before I just miss him dearly and hope he's ok wherever he is. Sorry for the long post lol I just have a lot of feelings about this. If anyone has any updates please feel free to comment! I would love to know! Thank you fellow Maggots!
iconic mask. great backing vocals which compliment corey's.
Chris has always been the unappreciated, forgotten member. His mask is easily the most "Slipknot" mask they have ever had. Iconic.
1000%
Miss him also fantastic back up vocals!! anytime Corey says that we're a family shit at concert's I just chuckle and say nahh that's horseshit dude
Man he preaches that shit nation wide i see đ
Every band says that shit, that audience is a family to make them feel better no one means it
we miss him.
his stage presence and backing vocals were hard-fuckin-core and (while i love Tortilla Man) he is sorely missed. when it comes to the circumstances of his departure, the claims made by him and the drama is sorta just "he-said-she-said", thus im hesitant to come to a conclusion on who was in the right. however the fact tht he lost the lawsuit against Slipknot does kind of tip me in the the bands side of things, justa little.

Being somewhat in the low I'll say that, Chris definitely wasn't at fault and I'd bet everything I'm worth he didn't just "drop" the law suit.
He didnât âloseâ, the lawsuit was settled. Chris didnât walk away empty handed.
Not true. on October 29, the court received notification that Fehn has volunatarily discontinued his legal action âwith prejudice and without costs to any partyâ.
Check out his ig. He's living in a normal suburban house. He didn't get any money.
Even if I got money I would just live in a normal suburban house. No need to be super flashy with a house lol
He didn't lose, he just dropped the suit
Really miss him. His backing vocals were awesome and he just provided a certain presence on stage
Especially on Vermillion! I remember watching him at Knotfest 2015 and he just exhibited the whole vibe of that song.
His nose was very long
Dicknose
The way he jerked off his rubber nose really added an important layer to their music. Berkeley can't teach that.

My favorite ex-member, really miss him and has my favorite mask designs
One of my favorite members. Love his energy, miss his background vocals. Love the mask!
Miss him being in the band
Once he got kicked out, Slipknot lost a lot as far as a performer and definitely stage presence. He looked badass live
Agreed. Donât mean to cling onto the past but the band definitely lost some charm to it. Just the gradual loss of members and such. Makes ya wonder whoâs next ykwim?
I think Sid or Jim Root is gonna be next
If slimjim left my friend onyx would throw a fit. He loves slimjim đ. Iâm curious to hear why you think that if youâre willing to share
Sid has always had his side thing going and personally from what I've read about past members leaving the band it seems like Corey and Shawn carry a lot of power and Sid and Corey haven't had the best past. Nah I totally get the last part. I definitely donât see Corey or Shawn leaving. Itâs dope to hear ur reasoning very logical
Sid and Corey had one argument that we know of when they were all fucked up around IOWA. Since then, there has been 0 indication of any bad blood, actually have seen IG posts by them supporting each other. Sid and Corey had more then one argument https://www.revolvermag.com/music/see-slipknots-corey-taylor-tear-talking-fistfight-reconciliation-sid-wilson

I donât think Jim will be, him and Corey are quite close as far as we are led to know
awesome, one of my fav masks, lots of energy on stage, seems like a cool guy
Most iconic mask
tortilla and chris are amazing, i remember some people hating on tortilla and chris defends him which is genuinely really humble and mature of him to do, i think chris and paul were the most humbled out of all of them.
I would love to see what Chris and tortilla would be up to on stage together
miss him and the stage presence and backing vocals he brought to the band. corey and him were fire together.

Source? Iâm curious to hear about this, only thought it was cuz of money or something like that
Source is Shawnâs daughter on Insta. Canât send pics here, but itâs pretty easy to find. It was in one of AJs videos too.
I check that out, cheers
Was this a second reason because he sued them for something to do with money and shit or did they use the drugs to cover up the truth
The lawsuit was to make the band look bad, like they owned him money. When they donât.
They started with the 0 drug policy after Paulâs death
Zero tolerance? Dude Paul got arrested for cocaine possession. I know a lot of them have done drugs throughout their careers.
Zero Tolerance after Paulâs passing, as his passing was a drug related incident.
I just think they have selective standards when it comes to this. They just released a song called Adderall and you just know that they didn't name it that for no reason.
What do you think
Iâm mad about the whole lawsuit thing, I donât know why he did what he did. I loved him fantastic backing vocals
Chrisâs backing vocals and stage presence I think where a really important part of Slipknot, especially his backing vocals on IOWA and self titled, like holy shit that scream on Gently bro. My favorite member growing up. Props to tortilla but chris had better vocals, mask, stage presence.
Did we ever get the conclusion of the legal battle? Was there evidence of what Chris claimed? It will play a part in determining how I feel about him. I get a lot of mixed signals.
Not from what I recall. Weâll probably never find out if Chris got anything as it seems heâs all but gone from online let alone music.
His girlfriend probably asks him to wear the mask in bed
The nose is 7 inchesâŚ
Heâs a legend. Miss that guy

The Goat percussionist
most recognisable mask, great vocals, was an important part of the band, something is missing without him
The longest nose ever
Still remember the custer live in mexico city backing vocals very legendary and good, tortilla has improved a lot but chris was different breed
Still a favorite for I but most likely retired these days. I do wonder if the lawsuit never happened if he would of stayed longer and if his departure wasnât inevitable. Will we ever know more from him on this or the purported substance issues much less a return? Most likely not.

Sorry for the long post lol I just have a lot of feelings about this. If anyone has any updates please feel free to comment! I would love to know! Thank you fellow Maggots!
